Alot of people who don't fish often doesn't realize how long it takes some days to catch them. I caught my biggest fish at times that I was ready to go home and give up but tried that 1 more cast and that when the magic happened. Thanks 👍
There's also those days when it's nothing but toad fish, but that's part of the fun, it makes the good fishing days all the more rewarding.🐟🍀👍
haven't fished in over 10 years, a a kid up into my late 40's nailed em hard in the PAC NW, lotta lake and river fishing for trout salmon, steelhead, then the Puget Sound and pacific ocean, lots of fish, worked commercial fishboats as a young lad as well.. literally been up to my chest in fish! unloading hake, bow holds full, up to 60 tons, it was trucked to pacific rendering for dog and cat food, unreal they sell it at costco today as if its gourmet... I drank and swam in so much hake juice over my chest waders back then I never wanna see another, I can still smell that briny smell, 4 kids in the hold of a 150' catcher by the time its all unloaded each worker is drenched in this brown green fish brine, scales everywhere, arseholes n elbows..the bonus was we got to keep all the good stuff.. rock cod, salmon, steelhead, snapper, all of it, WE ATE FISH in them days for free, fresh fish... I love it
Just happened recently with a 40” tarpon. Me and my buddy were out all the way until about 3 am on a fucking 12 foot john boat and oh boy did that fish fight.
@@deandee8082enjoyed the fish tale. Briny times can also be great memories as I recall numerous excursions in bilges of a diesel submarine.

We're all addicts m8 😂
I love watching your fishing show. Not only because its so informative but because i am unable to get to the ocean any more and my poor mobility makes it hard to trverse the beach..
Watching you fishing and talking about it is like sitting on the beach watching a mate. There is somthing about the waves of the pacific on the south coast which is very soothing. Keep on keeping on Rodger and thanks for the break!
Hi Georgina, great to hear from you! I'm glad that you enjoy our videos
Well said. You can almost feel the sand in your toes
I’m in the same position as you muscular dystrophy and two hips broken and replaced have stopped the angling jaunts, this and diving two of my favorite sports from about 14 years old only it was on the coast in South Africa, love this as it keeps me entertained and it also teaches some young future anglers what to look for in fishing spots and not to give up there is a way to catch fish, it’s not magic just learned knowledge and some tricks learned over time to assist.
@@paulstemmet2626after two back surgeries and we'll into septugenerian Era I also can enjoy Roger's instruction, information and experiences
This video brings more helpful instruction for fishing rock groins in Lone Star Gulf surf-Freeport & Galveston
Thanks Roger, I'm not a local but with all your tips now I'm able to find fish almost anywhere. Thanks heaps! ❤

Awesome video, thank you for sharing your knowledge & experience!
Glad it was helpful!
You’re very fortunate to be living close to a beach and be able to fish when you want. Good stuff mate. Enjoy 💪🏼
Yes I agree and am very grateful, we are blessed to be living where we are. Such beautiful beaches in Australia
Many dont realize how fortunate they are having sea where there actually are fish that can be caught from shore
Thanks Rodger, great tips as always
You are very welcome
Another great resource. Nice work.
Thanks mate 👍🏼

Thanks 👍

Glad you enjoyed it!
Greetings from Greece to all you down under , good videos thank you Roger for sharing your fishing experience with us !
Hi Oneandonly, Greetings from Australia 😊Thanks for watching.
I taught myself beach fishing lots more misses than hits but still great anywhere along the beach.
Roger your advice is so simple and practicaI wish you had been around 50 years ago.
We love deep sea reef fishing, estuary fishing but there is something about having your feet in the water and in a deep gutter.
Another excellent educational video for people who want to get into or improve their beach fishing. Thanks
Much appreciated Geoff
I've only ever tried beach fishing in the UK and I've never had so much as a bite. I've also tried pier fishing with the same results. I did spend 6 months in Australia and now regret that I didn't try it there. It certainly looks more productive.
great catch
Love your videos Roger
Thanks mate, appreciate the support
Absolutely outstanding video. Informative and fun. I loved it
Thanks so much!
loved the vid- would like to have that kind of structure here inshore in Florida have to sort of guess where the structure is under the waves but over all learned a few things great vid
Thank you soooo much ,,can you show us a video of how you cook them ?🙏
Great lesson mate. Excellent video
Thank you kindly!
nice action at the end of the beach
I love these videos Rodger. You are an excellent beach fisho but equal to your beach fishing prowess is your superb communications ability.
So pleasant to watch when I am unable to fish.
Thank you.
Thanks Alistair, much appreciated 😊
Wonderful videos mr. Osborne. Very educational.
Thank you kindly
Thank you Roger. Yes, this old boy (mid seventies) who has never been beach fishing, does appreciate your teaching what you can.
I might have said previously (your videos are regularly put before me by TH-cam), but whenever I look at an episode I feel compelled to watch. In that, you get my juices going, big time, each and every time.
The salmon look to be fantastic sport and the Thai fishcakes sound magnificent, so I am seriously considering buying a suitable outfit and heading off to one of my Victorian, southern coast beaches to test my luck. Can't wait to acquire some of those fancy, prancy shorts you wear. 😂 😂 . . . I'll (not) look extra smart in a pair of those. 🤣
Good luck with your endeavours and cheers from me. Bill
This is awesome to hear... Roger will be pleased when he reads this! I hope you catch a nice feed of fish Bill!! 🥰
Yes, go for it! ☺👍
I am mid-sixties and find not only is the fishing fun, It's also good for your health.
Tip: If you have a *Seniors Card* you don’t need to buy a fishing licence.
Are you here for talking or fishing? Talk less and fish more 😊
Awesome video mate..could you do a video on fishing river mouths cheers
You are a legend Roger (for an Aussie...haha😁) and I am very grateful to gain the benefit of your experience & knowledge. My abilities are growing after each video as I try and emulate you over here in Kiwiland... thank you Sir!
Thanks mate I appreciate that and glad to hear the videos have been helpful for you over the ditch there too 😎
Another great instructional video. Though many like me may be watching from other states, the techniques are certainly transferable. Thanks for sharing Roger.
Appreciate the support, thanks mate
Another ripper vid roger, they get better every time and I love how frequent they are. I've been living in Copenhagen for a few months now and these vids have me very excited to come home and get into beach fishing. I'm from Gerroa but spend a lot of time down your neck of the woods as my family has a house there (have noticed an iconic surfing spot in the back of some videos). I've never done beach fishing but enjoy chasing flathead around lakes estuarys. I was wondering if you do in person lessons at all? I'm super excited to learn beach fishing when I get home in 2024
Hi Doug, thanks for your message. Yes I do personal lessons. You can contact me through my website - Rogersfishing.com
Great video. Looks like it was a joy to use the gear and catch plenty of fish. Good description of rod and reel. Keep the videos commimg.
Thanks, will do!

Thanks for your kind words and support mate I appreciate it 🙏🏼
Always fantatic vids mate!! A ctch and cook would be even better!😃🐟🍽
My dear friend you and my uncle lol are amazing at it 👏.
Love your work
i enjoyed watching this and it is exciting to sea fish at times as you never know what you will hook into, you lucky to live near the sea unfortunately i am limited to freshwater
Great video, Roger, in problems here in Vic. are rocks often surrounded by lot of seaweeds, and that make people impossible to fish.
Moving to NSW soon and stumbled upon this channeled. And much like the fish and most folks here, totally hooked now! Awesome content Roger. Love the way you detail out everything! Tight lines from Sri Lanka.
Sir nice informative video, lot's of love from India❤
This is a great tip. I've often wondered about fishing near the rocks at the end of a beach.
I can certainly vouch for it!
Awesome 👍
great show …
Enjoyed your video, following from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬.
Thanks brother that is an amazing session thanks for all the insight 👍🌈
Very welcome
Mahalo Nui Loa from Hawaii. I like to throw fish net to catch a whole bunch of fishes in a lot less time than line fishing, but your method proves it doesn't take too much time.
Hey you’re lucky, I’m pretty sure that’s not a legal way to fish in Australia.
Its illegal in most states in Australia ...
L e g e n d ! Thanks as always Rog!
Good fun. Like the way you keep the fish. Just like me.
Nice session..plenty of success..subbed
Thanks and welcome
Hey Roger, nice video. I fish beaches all the time, and really like your explanation of the rock structure. I like fishing with lightweight Trika rod and Matched up Penn reel. I am fishing a lot like you do, even the step over a wave with 1 foot... lol. The Whiting are all over Hutchison Island, they say there is coral structure just beyond the larger waves around 200 yards out. The beach has a trench where the waves finally crash right at the shore. I know there is a different structure at the other end of the beach, similar to what you just showed, So I will give it a go. Thanks.
Hi Roger, loving the videos. I'd love a video covering hand reels. Cheers mate
Noted! Thanks
Thanks for once again providing some great tips. Your beach fishing knowledge is a huge help to me. Cheers
Glad to help
Some nice catches there m8 thanks for showing us and giving us your advice ,not had much success with sea beach fishing as mu you tube vid will show ,was always a river fisherman as a youth ,but will try this .ive liked and subd . Greetings from Wales UK all the best Ant .

First time watching and very enjoyable..
Great video I like it
Hey roger I’m going on a week trip just next to the beac at Mooloolaba and am hoping to fish for dart whiting and tarwhine, and off the rock wall and rock formations which I will have to wear my life jacket, there are mackerel snapper and Pelagics I’m so exited, wish me luck❤🎉ps. Bringing my light 8 lb and 30lb setup
Good luck!
🥳👍🏽
Hope you catch a good feed mate, let me know how you go?
@@RogerOsborneFishing sure will

You're welcome 😊
I used to do a lot of fishing in my younger days . Nowadays I watch a lot of fishing videos …and fantasise ! 😅Great show Roger !
Glad you enjoyed it
I watch all your video future I want to see you cook your catch 😂😂 ❤❤
Very enjoyable video -- thank you! A non-fish related technical question: Your camera operator follows you around quite nicely. What kind of light are they using? Is it attached to the camera?
nice fishing session! I love this style of fishing. what area are you at? I am from north Stradbroke island up in QLD
Good show , because I love a mixed catch . And your keeping them 👌✨👀🎶🎵✨👌👍🏼🤝‼️
I appreciate that
Roger your program is very entertaining to me simply because my child hood was spent fishing in New England in the USA your program scratches that itch of experiencing new Oceans with Fascinating fish some whose genus I am not familiar with. But the " Treat" of your program is that you are knowledgeable show many details on how to catch your quarry. Your knowledge of your Quarry and there whereabouts in their/your knowledge in locating the and taking them home to dine upon. Meets that primal delight of hunter gatherer's, definitely you Program deserves local and International Notice, you have enough in your program , to enjoy in ones leisure and encourage people to get out and have the wholesome viscerally satisfaction of fishing . Thank you Roger may Ha SHEM bless you with his presence. During the meditation of FISHING
Hi Roger, old freshwater man but beginner beach fisherman here. Been learning a lot from your videos. Was wondering if you have done one on using soft plastic worms?
If you click on his profile (his picture under the video) you can search his whole archive for whatever you want eg "soft plastic" 👍
Hello, Thanks for the videos. I have never been keen on fishing but enjoy learning from you. Curious to know if you do fishing tours or actual physical lessons
Hi Terry, yes I do in-between making videos. I am contactable through my website www.rogersfishing.com/
Have loved your tips, so heres a little tip from me ~
Greatly underrated fishing channel.
Thank you @nobitte, I appreciate that!
Hi Roger, love the videos and information you share. My daughter wants to go beach worming now 😂.
Wondering if you could share a little more info on the surf rods? What kg are the anarchy and maikuro light setups rated at?
Thanks
Great night out... I love the fact that you keep your fish. It absolutely gives me grief to watch these catch and release videos... bunch of rich boys bragging about the size of the monsters they can pull out... it is just so stupid. In my world I catch to eat. I dont catch to brag. Liked and subbed. thanks for a great channel
100% agree
Roger when you beach fish for what size hooks line an reel do you use THANKS as I have never beach fished .
Watching your video for the first time you are awesome
Thanks and welcome
Thank you sir! I for one appreciate what you taught me today. I just wonder if I can apply what I've learned to the local beaches here in the USA.
Do your beaches have rocky headlands?
Great minds think alike. 👍
My favourite spot is also next to a section of rocks on the beach, lots of action there. 🎣
At high tide most of it is submerged so you fish the gutter next to it then.
At low tide you can get onto the rocks to cast into deeper water.. both options are good fun. 😊
Excellent. Love that!
Legend! One day I'll catch a fish! 😂
Great content. Watching from Cape Town, South Africa
Thanks Glenn, G'day from Aus
