  • One of a series on shore fishing in Tendring, Essex (UK).
    This video is a record of two daytime sessions at Queensway, near Flag's Cafe in Holland-on-Sea (filmed on 19.10.21 and 22.12.21). The first session was unproductive, with only small bass caught; but the second visit was quite hectic, with fish caught on both the flood and the ebb. Techniques and rigs are covered.

    It's like one of those 80s fishing programmes but in high definition great channel

    Hi Mick. Great video...really enjoyable. The first session was a bit slow but that second session was quite busy...and no snotties, no weed, no inquisitive passers by and no nosey dogs...my kind of fishing! Haven't fished that area in a long time. Going to have to get the digit out and give it a go! Stay safe and stay healthy. Cheers. Ken

    What a great looking beach, it had bass writing all over it.great upload, sound quality, video, great,as always. Kind regards Mike. Norfolk.

      Thanks again Mike. I used to catch plenty of 2lb+ bass when the wooden groynes were still there - haven't really targeted them now; but crab chucked to the end of one of the fish-tailed groynes might work in summer.

    Thanks to you fished for the first time in 2 years today. Pump loads of fresh black lug at Dymchurch and fished at the east lookout at hythe ranges. Caught countless whiting. Dabs and 1 doggy no plaice unfortunately maybe a bit early! 👍

      Well done - you did better than me - I struggled at Bradwell! I'll have to try Hythe soon and start thinking about pumping my own black lug.

      @@rodsangleuk6283 the Dymchurch end is your best bet anything from 1.2 down and you should be OK good mixture of yellow tails and black lug there. For lug that die of old age try the redought end of the ranges on the really big tides. Tight lines 👍

    Great video as ever. Shame the dabs weren't bigger. Plenty of good sized plaice along the Sussex coast this wk. Maybe see you down this way one day. 👍🎣🐟

      Thanks Rob - yes I'll be back at Shoreham and Brighton soon - I used to fish there for plaice in late February, but it seems they've arrived earlier than normal this year. I still enjoy dab fishing though, so will be mainly trying for them, before plaice sessions.

      Yes - I agree. It was better when you fished off the seawall and the broken wooden groynes were there; but the nature of the fishing has changed anyway. Thanks for watching and comenting.

    Excellent video 😊. Was thinking of trying Seaford for an early plaice. Does this venue fish better on the flood or ebb ?
    Appreciate a response even if its ambiguous 😂. Keep up your meticulous work. It is very much appreciated 😃

      @rodsangleuk6283  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many thanks. Wind from behind and a clear sea should be ideal for early plaice. I've always done better on the ebb at Seaford, but its best to start while its still flooding. I've had quite a few soles there in February, mainly half way done the tide. Good luck.

    Nothing at Thorpe bay Rod, went the other night for 2 x hours flood and all of the ebb ... 1 x very small Whiting on lug. Bait was coming back untouched. Nothing out there at the moment.

    Another great video again. We love watching your videos and wonder can you settle an argument between myself and my partner? It’s regarding your camera, my partner says you must have someone operating your camera as it appears to zoom in/out and span across left/right, I say it might be a top end camera with a built in zoom function that operates on a sensor. Please help settle this argument.

    • @rodsangleuk6283

    Why are you set up so close to the surf?

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer to be at the waters edge rather than having to go backwards and forwards all the time for casting and returning fish - and I don't like dragging hooked fish up a beach.
