It comes from the factory with a blower so the vehicle is supercharged, is it really stock... That f150 is sick but do that race offroad and see how fast that 150 breaks, or put the same amount of mods on the ram and take anything else on the street to gapplebees. The bottom of the line is that when you start modifying vehicles the cheaper the starting vehicle the better for performance per dollar. I would love to own either of these, but I currently have a 21 powerboost xlt.
Well they haven't made a Dodge truck until right around the 2009 time frame so maybe you should go drive a Ram. They are better and before you snap back at me I work at a Stellantis dealership, GM dealership and a Ford dealership. I drive them all and see them all in the shop. GM has definitely fallen to number 3 Ram is the best all around.

I've seen the GM 5.3 with over a million miles personally and dozens upon dozens in the 400k+ range but over the last 5 years especially, GM is having massive amounts of lifter issues in both the 5.3 and 6.2. I can't tell you how many lifter jobs we have had to do in the last 3 years on vehicles with less than 20k miles. You would be shocked. And the Hemi has had lifter issues as well, especially early on, but are a very reliable engine still and I've personally seen the hemi with over 900k miles too. And well Ford we all know how many engine problems they've had over the last 2 decades although I will admit they have figured it out with the 3.5 and 6.7. Then 10 spd with both Ford and GM we've seen issues with though so we'll see how they are down the road.
These trucks are both insanely fast for trucks but they are both amazing rigs for making tons of power if you are ok with pushing them. The trx can make over 1300 crank on e85, porting, pulley, and exhaust. The 150 can make up to 1100-1200 crank with a wipple, porting, pulley, exhaust, and a cam. My point is it does not matter which truck it is, it matters how much you are willing to spend and what you prefer. If you want you can make the Trx much faster than that f150 if you want to make the 150 even faster you can.
@@masonkaye5 that TRX may make 1300 once, but won't consistently. Those internals are close to max as is, and throwing more power at them is a sure fire way to break em. Between dropped valves, blown head gaskets, and bent/broken connecting rods, that 6.2 is a headache. I've rebuilt 3 in the past year with less than 20k on em, but were not covered under warranty due to engine mods (yes, that cold air intake can void a warranty) or tunes being added. Mopar finally figured out most of their trans problems when they outsourced, but have fallen into a bad habit of pushing stock motors to their absolute max to get attention while putting longevity on the back burner.
3rd time seeing this video, I am a Ford guy, but that TRX was and still is a big threat out there. Sooo glad to see the F-150 taking it.. Though I am on my 3rd F-150 I'm just your basic F-150 driver, wanting to do a mod. Maybe my next truck. Great video guyz!!!!!🤙🏾

It's about time someone actually did a close comparison of the trucks, yes there is a weight and suspension difference, but this is closer than a TRX vs Raptor.
@@Jimmyxsx The 10 speed makes a difference versus the 6-speed but you have to remember a lot of the 10-speed's advantage is being bolted a Gen 3 5.0 versus the 6 speed being behind Gen 1 & 2 5.0s. The Gen 3 5.0s just make a good bit more power stock for stock and mod for mod. Also, the TRX has a ZF 8-speed...the 10 speed isn't much advantage that transmission at all.
@@BC08 There are N/A 10 speed Mustangs outrunning hellcats and all thanks to the 10 speed that keeps the engine right in the powerband. zF8 has 3 overdrive gears once they hit 6th gear they fall on their face. It’s basically a 5 speed lol

yeah that trx is a badass truck, and it's huge. i drive a '16 gmc sierra supercharged and it's got a 4" lift, drove by a trx th other day and that thing seemed way bigger and badder. i know my truck wouldn't have a chance. both are awesome trucks no doubt about it!
I just saw a video where the 602 Callaway kit in a new 6.2 silverado walked the trx in every way. It's great to see. The trx is the truck version of the hellcats, lots of hype but quickly overwhelmed.
The TRX isn't made for drag racing. It's made does off roads use and taking jump. And it's factory. Also not over hype at all. Take those 2 off road and the TRX will run walk circles around the Chevy.
@@jaxonross7726 nah the zr2 version will be just as capable. It's still going to be lighter by a long shot. The suspension in the zr2 is far more advanced and capable as well. Funny thing is that you don't see many videos of trx guys off roading them as they were designed for. Instead you see them trying to drag race everything. But hey it's got wide fenders and that for sure makes it a better off road vehicle.
@@H1cat I've seen alot of video of TRX off-roading and I've seen nitrous TRX whoop on porches. The TRX has very advanced suspension and the new ZR2 only comes with max of 306 hp. Even tho it's light it's not enough. The raptor is still a better truck them the zr2
That motor is about at its max currently. They could add more power, but it would require all new internals. Big horse power out of an "off road" truck is stupid, your not using 90% of it when you go out. My 98 F150 with a 4.6 making 220 hp will outperform that TRX on any trail, for less money, simply because it's built to do so. I have 4k in the truck, to include the purchase price, and have completed the Rubicon trail, Imogene, black bear pass, and the Appalachian trail without any major issues. Buddy of mine has a TRX and couldn't complete turkey bay, let alone the Rubicon trail.

The f-150 never claimed 707hp. They clearly stated its 775hp. The launch on the trx is really impressive but you can clearly see its not outperforming the f-150's with an equal takeoff. The biggest killer for the trx isnt just the weight but also them 35's. Thats alot of rotational mass. Good runs though, enjoyed it.
I test drove one and was impressed, but not to the degree. I thought I would be. I ended up going with the Roush super charged f 150 bc of the slight gain in power. Also, it’s a normal size truck and not an over the top monster like the TRX.
You need to hold in the traction control for 8-10 seconds on the Ford and it takes off the Advanced Traction Control…. That’s the fun button…. Put it in Launch Mode and let the MFer Eat…. That TRX would’ve been gapped in 60’ my friend has one and he didn’t know about the traction control trick. It’s F’ing nuts.
I guess I’ll add it here. The non-Redeye Hellcat engines - including the one in the Ram TRX - use a 2.3L IHI twin-screw supercharger, and not a 3.2L as mentioned in this video. The Redeye models (and the Demon) use a 2.7L supercharger. The 1,000hp Hellephant uses a 3.0L supercharger.
@@BackroadDriver No, that’s not the case. Your GT500 has a 2.65-liter Eaton TVS supercharger. It’s a totally different unit, though, than the TRX’s 2.3-liter twin-screw supercharger sourced from IHI.

Just for clarification, If you're not in manual mode when roll racing in a TRX or a truck such as mine, You're done. You can't just stay in auto and expect the transmission to be in the right gear when you give it the hit. It will take a few moments for it to downshift. He missed a shift (didn't get it back to auto in time) and we ran it back to make sure. That's why he said I missed a shift. He's not trying to manually shift through all the gears (in an auto) but get it in the right gear for a roll race manually, and back into auto after you give it the hit. I hope this clears things up a bit. My truck eats TRX's all day but not because someone missed a shift....
it wont be as fast as this f150 bc ford has to have a warranty on the truck so they going to put "safe" tune. same with the trx you can tune it to go faster but voids the warranty

I'll tell you right now, there's 9 second F150s with gen 3 coyotes and 10R80s on stock internals. These trucks are the king when it comes to racing trucks.

@@B_EIMON 106k miles on my 17 F-150 3.5 Ecoboost. Been tuned since nearly day one. Past 2 years exclusively tuned on E50 that puts over 600 tq to the wheels. Runs like a champ.
I have an engineer buddy down here in Texas that dailies a supercharged 2019 crew cab 4x4 f150! He has a Whipple, headers, Lund tuned, and all terrains and the truck ran a 10.1 at 139mph wheel hopping like crazy!! He not only dailies it but uses it to drag his fully built 1600hp 2012 mustang to the track!
Good race but definitely think the TRX is punching above it’s weight to be 1000lbs heavier and lower on power. That f-150 is bad ass though. Ford really should just boost the 5.0 instead of using the GT500 engine in my opinion

I used to live in Morristown, TN, so I am very familiar with where you guys are. :-) As an aside, the Ram TRX uses an IHI 2.3-liter twin-screw supercharger; not a 3.2L as the gentleman in your video said. Of course, nothing really compares to what Whipple is putting out these days with their Gen 5 stuff!
Either ram under rated the TRX or Whipple over rated. Way too close considering the difference in weight - sprung & definitely unsprung too. Nevertheless- this is the shiz we love to see!!! Keep up the awesome work!

I test drove one and was impressed, but not to the degree. I thought I would be. I ended up going with the Roush super charged f 150 bc of the slight gain in power. Also, it’s a normal size truck and not an over the top monster like the TRX.

You need to hold in the traction control for 8-10 seconds on the Ford and it takes off the Advanced Traction Control…. That’s the fun button…. Put it in Launch Mode and let the MFer Eat…. That TRX would’ve been gapped in 60’ my friend has one and he didn’t know about the traction control trick. It’s F’ing nuts.

I guess I’ll add it here. The non-Redeye Hellcat engines - including the one in the Ram TRX - use a 2.3L IHI twin-screw supercharger, and not a 3.2L as mentioned in this video. The Redeye models (and the Demon) use a 2.7L supercharger. The 1,000hp Hellephant uses a 3.0L supercharger.
*3.0L blower on the F150, but then the trx has a 6.2 vs. the 5.0 engine..
The TRX has a 2.65 blower. Perry said 3.2 in the video but was mistaken.
@@BackroadDriver No, that’s not the case. Your GT500 has a 2.65-liter Eaton TVS supercharger. It’s a totally different unit, though, than the TRX’s 2.3-liter twin-screw supercharger sourced from IHI.

The Ford has three more Cams and of course the all aluminum body doesn't hurt. and Ram and GM guys don't get offended by this but the hemi and LS engines are antiquated push rod engines.

Just for clarification, If you're not in manual mode when roll racing in a TRX or a truck such as mine, You're done. You can't just stay in auto and expect the transmission to be in the right gear when you give it the hit. It will take a few moments for it to downshift. He missed a shift (didn't get it back to auto in time) and we ran it back to make sure. That's why he said I missed a shift. He's not trying to manually shift through all the gears (in an auto) but get it in the right gear for a roll race manually, and back into auto after you give it the hit. I hope this clears things up a bit. My truck eats TRX's all day but not because someone missed a shift....

it wont be as fast as this f150 bc ford has to have a warranty on the truck so they going to put "safe" tune. same with the trx you can tune it to go faster but voids the warranty
Heard the raptor r supposed to have the same engine as the GT500 just with 755hp instead of 760.
It should rip pretty good and if someone cracks the tune it would be insane.

That is badass, now I'm curious to see how long the trans and engine lasts at those HP/TQ numbers on the f150.
I'll tell you right now, there's 9 second F150s with gen 3 coyotes and 10R80s on stock internals. These trucks are the king when it comes to racing trucks.
@@chkntndy7727 I know what's out there, I'm talking about daily driving it and driving it hard and or racing. Most of the ppl you speak of aren't daily driving those trucks to work and putting lots of miles on them.
@@B_EIMON 106k miles on my 17 F-150 3.5 Ecoboost. Been tuned since nearly day one. Past 2 years exclusively tuned on E50 that puts over 600 tq to the wheels. Runs like a champ.
I have an engineer buddy down here in Texas that dailies a supercharged 2019 crew cab 4x4 f150! He has a Whipple, headers, Lund tuned, and all terrains and the truck ran a 10.1 at 139mph wheel hopping like crazy!! He not only dailies it but uses it to drag his fully built 1600hp 2012 mustang to the track!

Good race but definitely think the TRX is punching above it’s weight to be 1000lbs heavier and lower on power. That f-150 is bad ass though. Ford really should just boost the 5.0 instead of using the GT500 engine in my opinion

As an aside, the Ram TRX uses an IHI 2.3-liter twin-screw supercharger; not a 3.2L as the gentleman in your video said. Of course, nothing really compares to what Whipple is putting out these days with their Gen 5 stuff!
Either ram under rated the TRX or Whipple over rated. Way too close considering the difference in weight - sprung & definitely unsprung too.

We will get the truck on the dyno very soon. I got some stock numbers on the same dyno. You'll be able to see what it puts down with the Whipple very soon. Before and after should be pretty impressive!
