    What will suck is for the people without a YT channel and the "GREAT" relationship with Whipple. Would they have been helped or just get a big sorry you're on your own.

    TC Customs and Whipple showing everyone how to take care of the customer. Failures happen in every company but the difference is in how that failure is handled by that company. This is the standard that every company should adhere to.

    • @rdsii64

      Did they take care of them because their customer service is that good, or because of the large social media following? Would a random nobody get the same level of service? I'm not throwing shade, just something to think about.

      "Standing behind" your product is not great "customer service". It's a legal requirement when selling "durable goods" as an OEM. Great customer service is manufacturing products that do not fail in the first place.

    • @deeremeyer1749
      @deeremeyer1749 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rdsii64OEMs of "durable goods" - basically anything with a "serial number" - are REQUIRED BY LAW to provide "customer service" for/of their products for 7-15 years depending on jurisdiction. Even if the company goes "bankrupt", the product/product line is "discontinued" etc. That means providing "factory" parts and service support.
      There is no other option as an OEM. So Whipple is just doing what law requires. Nothing less and damn sure nothing more.
      "Customer service" means doing what is NOT required by law i.e. going "above and beyond" what is required by law following a "premature failure".
      "Customer service" is also in the eye of the beholder. Whipple "warranty" only covers the "original purchaser or end user".
      Meaning a "tuner" may be "covered" if they are the purchaser "of record" while their "customer" is SOL if there is a "premature failure". "Tuners" and "builders" are not OEMs and they have no legal obligation to "stand behind" their "product(s)".
      So the only way to be fully "covered" and receive full "customer service" is to be a DIY "builder" or "tuner" and the original purchaser "of record" and end user of "durable goods" that are so-called "upgrades".
      But can you buy "upgrades" on a "factory direct" basis and BE all of those things or do you have to "source" them from a "dealer" or "distributor" aka "retailer"?
      If not you will never be guaranteed "customer service" and instead have to rely on the OEM to "step up". And if a "tuner" or "builder" does the "install" you have to rely on them to make sure the warranty registration is in "your name" and/or they are an "authorized" distributor/dealer and didn't just "source" the "upgrades" from the "factory" or an actual authorized distributor/dealer.
      Best practice for CONSUMER PROTECTION is to buy the "upgrades" personally and "supply" them to the "tuner" or "builder" on a carry-in basis even if it requires paying a "premium" for the part(s). However many "shops" will not install even OEM stock replacement parts much less "upgrades" on that basis because it requires them to assume all "liability" for "defects in workmanship". And it affects their "bottom line" because there is no "markup" when they "source" aftermarket parts at "cost" and then "supply" them to customers at a "premium".
      Reality is that OEMs with "great" reputations for "customer service" online typically are paying for the "positive" publicity one way or another and are only doing what law(s) require them to do even if the "customer" singing their praises believes they are really "stepping up".
      When it comes to factory stock vehicles there is not a single "upgrade" to increase "performance" that does not negatively affect or altogether destroy the retail/wholesale "value" of the vehicle AS a "used car".
      A "used car dealer" i.e. an OEM automobile "stealership" and its "sales department" typically will not touch an "upgraded" vehicle with aftermarket "performance upgrades" as a "trade" with a 10 foot pole because IT is REQUIRED BY LAW to "stand behind" any trade-in it "retails" to an end user buyer for at least 30 days and "bumper to bumper" and has no ability to get the "upgrades" repaired or replaced under "warranty" AND no SAE-certified "shop" or "mechanic" is going to risk its/their reputation for "customer service" jacking around with "upgrades" for which it/they are not "factory trained".
      Not to mention "stealerships" are the actual "source" for and "supplier" of that legally required "factory" parts and service support of/for "durable goods" FOR the duration of that 7-15 years.

    • @deeremeyer1749
      @deeremeyer1749 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Every "company" that manufacturers "durable goods" is REQUIRED BY LAW to "provide" that "level of support" in the United States. From 7 years to 15 years depending on jurisdiction. They're called consumer protection laws. And "durable goods" have "serial numbers" specifically so manufacturers can "provide" that "factory" support THROUGH a "dealer network" and those goods can be "registered" for "warranty purposes" by the original "consumer". If you have a "tuner" or other aftermarket "installer" do your bolt-on "upgrades" AND they "source" or "supply" them and are NOT an "authorized dealer" of the part(s) THEY may be "on record" as the "consumer" giving the "end user ZERO ability to get the "customer service" they PAID FOR "indirectly" when they paid for an "upgrade" they are not the registered purchaser of.

      Even stock vehicles, my buddy and I subcontract each other all of the time, he started running logistics for me. I have a 2015 F150 5.0 that gets 10mpg with a decent size dry van. He has a 2012 F150 5.0 with bad cats and let me tell you, it’s fun to pay for fuel for that thing. He’ll end up just cutting them off but until then, I need to find really high paying loads to make any money whatsoever.

LFP troubleshot it to defective fuel injectors. Whipple and LFP took care of everything. I didn't pay a dime. Nice to see a negative turn into positive.

    Some good lessons learned here and super important to have an ASE Certified shop do the install. I know I could do it myself but I'd rather pay a little and have the warranty just for reasons like we've seen here. Without a doubt Whipple should be taking corrective action to pressure test these systems before they go in the box, had they done that, the leak would have been discovered early on and a lot of time and money would have been saved. I plan on buying a Whipple for my 22 but will also have my Ford dealer install it. The motors are tough and the tune is conservative or Ford would not let them be doing it, its that simple.

      Like Whipple has a choice. State and federal laws require OEMs of "durable goods" to provide "customer service" in the form of "factory" parts and service support for 7 to 15 years depending on jurisdiction when "defects in materials or workmanship" are the "root cause" of "premature failure".

    This was a unique failure and not caused by tuning or higher than reccomemd boost or racing/ abuse. This was 100% manufactured defect. We should all understand this was also a documented failure with video evidence from ASC Certified mechanics and an official Whipple dealer. The warranty here was completely justified. Most engine failures wouldn’t fall under this type of clear case.

    The 18+ coyote engines cant simply be bored out......they dont have piston sleeves......they were finished by a plasma arc process. U probably can get them re-finished, but with that cost i bet it would be better to buy a crate engine from ford performance. That would b my choice.
