Awesome. I tried this technique earlier but with only one air shim before I discovered your video and I could not get the damned thing off. Thought about just breaking the plate or throwing my washer off of my deck. Will try again with more shims! Hope restored.
After I took the top cap off that above the 7/16 there is small gaps that hold that cap in place I got a hair pin bobby pin pushed it through one gap with a shoestring went across the way through another gap with bobby pin had the shoe string doubled ever so slightly and gentle pulled up worked good
I wish I would have found this video before I watched the one about smashing it with a hammer LOL. Oh well it worked, but now I have to order another plate. Not too bad considering It took me about 10+ hours and dozens and dozens of tries to get the original bolt out. Thank god I finally found some stripped bolt nuts at lowes.
@@Z71HamBone two pick handles have been yanked off in this process. got 1 more and 1 more bag to get under. I find sliding them in on the weaker/thinner parts then shimmy over to the winged areas to be 'easiest'. this damn impeller. I've been trying to get this thing off, periodically, for about 8 months
still can't get this stuck ducker off. I think I'll wait til spring so I can do a full system teardown outside. this plate will come off the machine or the machine will come off the plate, one way or another
Probably because the plate is moving with it? I used a small ratchet, and held both the plate and ratchet and banged it with a hammer to free it loose, gotta get creative 😂
This is not 100% effective. It did not work on my Whirlpool. Bad design and defective drive hub, IMO. My machine was only 6 years old. But, try this method as soon as it makes loud noises on spin cycle-don’t wait like I did.
Not when that MF'er is really caked on there. I used some screw driver style hook picks and pulled the living fuck out of it and nothing. Till I got tired of it and let It sit for a week and few days I guess the PB blaster I had applied done its thing and it came right off with the picks.
Wat are the air things called
Thank you. I just showed my husband and said "i wish we had some of these."....he says" i do" lol❤

…brilliant
Brilliant
Another good one Is a dog leash , which you wrap around the thin dark gap at a 180 degree pull hard
This is actually a really good way, I’ve tried and worked 100%
I pushed it in with a flat screwdriver
Man mine must be straight up welded. I destroyed my washplate and still couldn't get it off
Two mini pry bars and some cussing, got it out for me
Heck that a weapon now!
Okay but now how do I get it back on I feel like it’s stripped
I agree
What’s the slow way?
lmao
Hey thanks quick question what's that tool you use with the hammer
That is called a punch, they come in various sizes.
Just had 3 stuck in 2 days 3 hours with nothing I’m trying this fosho
All that you need to do is in the center where you took screw out. Get a set of plyers and pull up. The part where the 3 ridges meet in the middle.
@@briancampbell5873 tell me u have no experience doing this without telling me u have no experience doing this lol

I tried this and really struggled (and unsuccessfully) to get the bags under the impeller thing is so snug against the bottom
Use a pic or something to pull up on the plate slightly..

@@pezchef7577 yes finding the areas that you can get under and working the bags into position is the trick here

Where do I get the bags
home Depot sells them 17 a piece in the tool section near the hammers and pry bars
I CANNOT GET THE FUCKING BOLT OFF! MY HANDS ARE DEVELOPING 3 LESIONS EVERY 5 MINUTES ! HELP! I feel like I'm gonna cry...
Probably because the plate is moving with it? I used a small ratchet, and held both the plate and ratchet and banged it with a hammer to free it loose, gotta get creative 😂
I had to use an impact drill.
I had to pushed down on the drill kind of hard. The bolt did loosen.
I had to just impact as well
Name?
Rhino air shims I think
😂😂😂😂holy shit…..I read about this video in the comments of another video but it didn’t do it justice

Won't work for me
A shoe string works way better.
How so
@@jerrysouthside8597 just use a shoelace and pull up truss.
