Fun Fact: Kansas City was founded before the state of Kansas and both were named after the Kanza Tribe, also knows as the Kaw. And yes, KCMO people get a bit pissed when someone thinks we live in Kansas. Don't even get us started on the New York Strip steak.

In our native town kc it's somewhere far like where I live at now LA and Atlanta it is cause you come to cities such as these far from Missouri and Kansas saying you from Lee's summit and Blue Springs Independence Mo they don't know where that's at.

As you mature, your idea of “fun” changes (or it should). Just like any city, KC has its flaws; but for the most part, it’s not a bad place to live- and there’s plenty of things to do; it just depends on your mindset. Prospect on Sundays & Swope Park used to be lit, but it was shut down for a reason…! I could go on but I’ll just leave it right here!
You forgot the most important thing, "Don't step on nobody's shoes get shot. Don't go up north you'll end up in the woods by the police.

St louis didn't annex a lot of white/suburb areas to make it really look bigger and more peaceful than it actually is either tho. If u take away clay, platte and cass counties (which are all included) and just add jackson county #s. Its about the same rate

The theater was also dangerous as hell, it was 6 dollar tickets and on the weekends it was a damn warzone. They shut it down because the Nordstrom was gonna open there. They shut down the Winsteads because all the winsteads closed.

We also have *the* National WW1 Museum and Memorial. Weird flex but I'm for it.

I don’t think downtown is as bad as it used to be. Is it your quiet suburban street at night? No, but it’s not like you hear gun shots every night either. Just mind your own and be aware of your surroundings, and you generally should be fine.
A lot of the violence is happening east of 71. Which if you’re not a local you probably don’t have any business being over there as the only districts you’d probably be visiting besides the zoo is 18th and Vine.
I see no reason to be afraid of downtown or crossroads at night. I cannot speak for midtown as it is much farther south than I make it, but I would assume the plaza district would be fine as well.
It’s almost like we live in two separate cities. I don’t frequent strip clubs, but I don’t remember the girls being horrible when I went to Bazookas?? Fully naked? Nah, but some girls did take it a bit farther than I think they’re supposed to 🤔
