Philadelphia is also a short train ride to the Atlantic Ocean, a couple hours from actual mountains, and it's sandwiched between NYC and DC. To me these factors are pretty significant when you consider KC has no ocean, mountains, nor big cities nearby.

Also, the Philadelphia Orchestra is one of the worlds's greatest, AND inspired the rich orchestrations of the Philadelphia Sound. AND Philadelphia's major Universities (Penn, Temple, Drexel, Villanova, Haverford, Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore).
Love the video! My two cents for KC, as a native, what we lack in public transit, we make up for in price. All public transit is 100% free. It’s not the best by any means, but it’s been improving drastically the last decade. And it’s nice just to hop on without worrying about payment. It’s really been helping with the less affluent areas having a chance to find work who originally couldn’t due to the cost of transit.
Thanks for that information. I’ve never been to KC but would like to one day. I live in Boston and we’ve lowered public transit costs as well as made it free in certain areas and transit drivers are also given stipends to pay for people who don’t have cash to put on their transit cards. But making it completely free is a good idea.

As a life-long STL resident, I approve this analysis. In all seriousness, KC is awesome to visit and the museums mentioned are great. Our family spent a whole afternoon in the toy & minitures museum and loved it. You didn't mention it in walkability, but they really destroyed the grid and downtown with the interstate cluster-**** ring there. I've flown into Philly, but never really spent any time there (as an adult, we did the Liberty Bell/Independence Hall tourist thing when I was a kid in the 80s). But by most measures, it's by far the most affordable "big" city in the US, much more than it's contemporaries on the East Coast.
I'd love you to do a comparison between Canadian and US cities. Maybe Toronto vs Chicago, Portland vs Vancouver, ect. It would be interesting to see how Canadian cities differ from American counterparts.
The lack of public transport in KC was definitely my least favorite part of the city. I lived in Midtown, and I still had to drive pretty much everywhere. The midtown area was fairly bikeable, though.
Philly has many downtown streets wirh protected bike lanes, and you can bike into downtown along the Schuylkill River and other bike paths, and more are being added all the time.

Fairmount park is awesome- a lot of hidden gems of the trails. Peppers aren’t a common option for cheesesteaks. We call them pepper people. Weirdos. 😂 We got jipped on the museums.

Actually Philadelphia's Fairmount Park is 4,500 acres and the entire park system is roughly 9,000 acres in size. It's the largest inner city park in the world.

To add to some of the Philly things: public transportation from the city to the suburbs and NJ side of the Delaware is excellent, there are a ton of top-level museums/zoos/aquariums, and one more cool thing, there is a Chief's sports bar in south Philly (just an interesting tie-in to the game). I used to live in Northwest philly And I could get on a train a block of my house and take a train from ther to Trenton and then take a train from there to NYC. All municipal public rail not Amtrak.

I never drive so I'd take my kids to the beach by going on the Broad Street line to Race Street and catching the NJ transit to Wildwood Atlantic City or any of the amusement parks in Jersey and it cost almost nothing. They never lost our on a trip because I didn't drive.
Pretty sure museums has to be a pitty point for KC, if you include independence hall and all that surrounding stuff too, plus the mutter museum, there isn't really an argument for KC over Philly for museums.
And lastly, it's also pretty absurd to give the edge to KC in food. Philadelphia not only has way more variety from a multitude of ethnic backgrounds, but it has a much larger selection of high-end restaurants as well. To give the edge to KC because you like "ribs over cheesteaks" is plain silly when the food scene is immeasurably larger than a single food item.
As a Kansas Citian, I have to admit it is only fair to say that Philly is a better overall city than KC in many categories, but I do appreciate the love that this video still showed KC. Personally though, as someone who has visited the northeast, I would never wanna live there. Dealing with traffic is optional in big northeastern cities, you don’t necessarily need a car. Philly is compact and walkable. After I moved here I got rid of my car and I just walk everywhere and occasionally take transit. A lot of people commute by bike. Of course there are people who reverse commute to the suburbs, so these people might have more of a reason to worry about that, but honestly I think more people have cars here than need them. I think for political reasons the city makes too many concessions to cars and is dragging their feet on dedicated bus lanes, and the traffic would be better if fewer people felt like it was worth it to drive, both from having their choice subsidized less and having better alternatives in the form of things like more frequent and reliable busses and bike infrastructure that’s actually protected.
There’s also a persistent narrative that public transit isn’t safe, and while it does have a lot of problems recently, nobody’s factoring in the fact that you’re 10x as likely to die in a car crash than on transit. Driving is not safe, people just feel safe because they’re lugging around their own living room
Philadelphia is a magnificent city. I've lived here for 20 years and I love it! As for museums, there is no comparison---Philly by a mile. Next to NYC and Washington,D.C. Philadelphia has the finest selection of Museums in the USA, including the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts--the FIRST art museum and art school in America!
The Barnes (art museum), The Rodin Museum, the Penn Museum, Eastern State Penitentiary, National Constitution Center; none of which were mentioned are all more substantial and interesting than KC's best. I could name 10-15 more easily. He didn't mention theatre district either. I'm calling for a review on the play lol

You picked South Street for your example of night life in Philadelphia!😂😂😂 South Street is bottom tier for nightlife. You could have picked Old City, Northern Liberties, Manyunk, Center City, among others.
One thing I did not hear was higher education and learning. Philadelphia has some of the top notch colleges and universities in the country. We have Masterman, Central and Girls High Schools which ranked in the top 20 every year. Not to mention our renowned hospitals like the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia which ranks number one almost every year, Jefferson, Temple Hospital and the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania are known for their cancer lounge heart centers. Fairmount park is the name of the entire park system which includes the Tookeny and Tacony Creek parks in Northeast Philly And there's parks and recreation centers in every neighborhood. The people get a bad wrap because of fans can get a little Rowdy to Outsiders looking in but it's all done in love. The people in Philadelphia genuinely love each other. Even as bad as the crime is the police are pretty cool overall. Everyone in the neighborhood knows the police in their area because they blend in and actually talk to the people. It's like our former mayor Ed Rendell would say, if you let Philly beef Philly Philly will be okay. I love my city.
Lifelong Philadelphian here. I love my city. Despite all of its flaws. There's always a great bar, museum, band playing, rustic park (pennypack and Fairmount), sports event, shopping, interesting neighborhood (I've lived in many), historical landmarks, etc - all easily accessed by public transportation or vehicle, or even bike. The Shore towns are even a hour or two away. Atlantic City is 45 minutes from the bridge. Wildwood is 3 hours by bus and is $21. I've taken it many times... Now - that said, I've been to KC, many years ago. But, it was a late weeknight in the summer, and it was horrible. Blowing winds and dust, horrible allergies. We skated around, exploring and, after a few hours, saw NOT ONE OTHER PERSON. Not one. It was like that movie Damnation Alley. After a few hours, our eyes swollen shut and noses dripping, just left. No BBQ, or ANYTHING. I know maybe if it was on a weekend in a different part of town, the situation could have been better, but, wow! Bad experience that night.

Well I learned two new things by watching this video that I didn't know before, that two of California's most famous sports teams, the Golden State Warriors and Oakland As originated in Philadelphia, I somehow missed ot when Kyle said the As were from Philly. But caught it, did a double take and rewound when he said the Warriors were also from Philly.

Franklin Institute Science Museum, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Natural History Museum, The Mutter Museum, The Museum of The University of Pennsylvania, The Norman Rockwell Museum, The Museum of The American Revolution, The Constitution Center, etc. However, I do love the Nelson in KC.
I moved to Philadelphia a few months ago and do with this information what you will but nobody here says “downtown Philadelphia.” The central district is called “Center City.” I guess you could call it “a downtown,” but it’s comprised of the old boundaries of the city of Philadelphia proper prior to 1854 and it’s kind of more than a downtown

As soon as KC and Philly won last week I started weighing whether I like cheesesteaks more or less than KC bar bq. I too, consider KC Bar BQ my favorite type of Bar BQ and I too adore cheesesteaks. I've driven from NYC to KC to sample KC Bar BQ and I've many times detoured to Philly for cheesesteaks. Well, it was a hard choice but in the end I came to the same decision as Kyle. KC Bar BQ is just so fine. Glad to see that he and I are on the same page on this one cause I really admire this guy.
i live in philly, cheesesteaks are good but overrated in-terms of what other great resturants and cuisines we have. but ppl always gravitate towards the big cheese, walk thru south philly tho and u will have endless great options from italian spots, a plethora of asian foods, mexican/cubano/venezuelan, endless did not even mention Indian or Mediterranean spots. we have great bbq too but i do not believe we can hold a candle to kansas city and not tryna brag, everyone just focuses on those dang cheesesteaks.
Oh Kyle…I love Kansas City! It’s my home!! But…having been to Philly & loved it…your rankings were fair. We are coming along here in the City of Fountains step by step, but Philadelphia is a great big city and highly underrated. I've lived in both cities and I agree with pretty much everything you said. I used to walk everywhere in Philly; I even traveled up to NY on a regular basis without having a car the entire time. I'm pretty sure the *only* time I ever walked around downtown KC was that one time the Royals won the World Series and there was a massive parade. Suddenly the place became walkable! lol.
It's all about location. Philadelphia is close to the coast, halfway between NYC and Washington DC. Kansas City is closer to.......corn. but it's really not a fair comparison. Philadelphia is a LOT larger than KC. I'm in NYC, I think Philadelphia is the most underrated big city in the US.
I’m a recent transplant from Philly (1yr in KCMO). Hands down Philly, just more to do and awesome spot for a foodie like me. I like the laid back style and inexpensive items in KCMO, in my opinion/experience
Yeah I agree. The food scene here sucks. I moved down to KC 2 years ago from Omaha. Which is a smaller city but the food scene was way better up there. I did not expect to have a downgrade in that regard moving to a bigger city lol.

Great and timely video. As for the variety of museums, however, I don’t think Philly can be beat. Philly has 2 your viewers should know about. The Mutter Museum is a collection of medical artifacts; I challenge anyone to come up with a more unusual (weird), but captivating museum. And the Battleship New Jersey is just across the river in Camden. One can’t visit the Battleship Missouri in KC.

As someone who moved to Kansas City two years ago. I've found it more boring than I expected. Super sprawled out means long drives times to get anywhere interesting. Many of the nicer restaurants I liked when I first moved here have since closed down. To add to that overall one of the less impressive restaurant scenes I've seen in the US. Hoping to move elsewhere next year.

There are many attractions in Swope Park: the KC Zoo, Starlight Theater, 3 golf courses, numerous trails and natural areas. Scheduled events at night are generally safe there. Fairmount Park is in many ways similar, but I wouldn’t wander around alone in either at night, particularly on the northwest side of Swope or the eastern edge of Fairmount
Kansas City's public transport has been improving over the years by adding streetcar downtown and the streetcar is now getting updated I think in 2025 to the point where it will now go all the way down to the plaza but it probaly is still a long way from beating Philadelphia in transportation
7:00 I’d reconsider that part. As a Philly native nothing in KCMO as far as “bad neighborhood” compares to Kensington. I’ve only been in KCMO for 1yr so there’s that as well

I've spent a lot of time in KC and I love it... some people on the east coast wonder why because they don't know any better... my only issue with KC (if I were to live there) is that there's not much physical beauty near by (I love change of scenery with mountains, forrests, ocean etc)... but KC is awesome!....I also live in Philly and it's a love/hate relationship to be honest... there's a ton of history and culture. There's always something going on. You'd be surprised how friendly people actually are for the most part... old narrow streets, history, festivals, museums, artists, music, sports, great food... Philly is great, but it's also tiring sometimes with the crime and violence. I've been to many places and nothing comes close, it's almost like the wild wild west combined with being an east coast city... I love Philly but you have to be careful 24/7 . Just my honest opinion
I just wish the KC city planners didn't slice their downtown into a tic-tac-toe chart with their freeways, also how many buildings got leveled for parking lots. It's already pretty walkable but I can only imagine what it was like before

As a resident of a KC suburb there are two things that could really improve. First, public transit. Buses barely exist here. Second, clean up Wyandotte. Easier said than done but I've seen some progress on that front lately. Unfortunately some areas are beyond recovery, like Quindarro, but if the crime and poverty in eastern KCK were diminished it would be huge...those areas have huge untapped charm
Personal experience comparison: driving downtown, lost (before gps), asked a person on the street at a light. Philly: ignored, no help KC: received directions complete with land marks. (yes, I’m from here and still get lost, I’m 😂directionally challenged, lol😊)
Doesn't change the fact that the Chiefs will be closing the gap on that Championship stat here soon, lol! As a KC transplant for just about a decade coming from Chicago, my biggest gripe about the town is the transportation and walkability. It's getting better with the streetcar, but generally just the culture around distances greater than only half a mile, folks typically turn the keys to get there... It kinda makes sense when you consider how easy it is to park everywhere, but blah - I'd rather have less parking and more cool stuff to see. More than happy losing to Philly - it's a rad town that goes too easily overlooked.

100 years ago, Kansas City had an extremely extensive trolley system, but it was ripped out and sold (to promote automobiles if you believe rumors)

I've lived in both cities (grew up in Philly). I prefer Philadelphia's geographic location, but found Kansas City a more pleasent place to live.

Actually Philadelphia's Fairmount Park is 4,500 acres and the entire park system is roughly 9,000 acres in size. It's the largest inner city park in the world.
I know I'm biased, and this is just for fun, but no way does KC outdo Philly for Museums and art. It's the mural capital of the world.

To add to some of the Philly things: public transportation from the city to the suburbs and NJ side of the Delaware is excellent, there are a ton of top-level museums/zoos/aquariums, and one more cool thing, there is a Chief's sports bar in south Philly (just an interesting tie-in to the game).

I used to live in Northwest philly And I could get on a train a block of my house and take a train from ther to Trenton and then take a train from there to NYC. All municipal public rail not Amtrak.

I never drive so I'd take my kids to the beach by going on the Broad Street line to Race Street and catching the NJ transit to Wildwood Atlantic City or any of the amusement parks in Jersey and it cost almost nothing. They never lost our on a trip because I didn't drive.
When the factories left Kensington it died and is still dead. Funnily Fishtown and Northern Liberties are about a mile away.

Pretty sure museums has to be a pitty point for KC, if you include independence hall and all that surrounding stuff too, plus the mutter museum, there isn't really an argument for KC over Philly for museums.

And lastly, it's also pretty absurd to give the edge to KC in food. Philadelphia not only has way more variety from a multitude of ethnic backgrounds, but it has a much larger selection of high-end restaurants as well. To give the edge to KC because you like "ribs over cheesteaks" is plain silly when the food scene is immeasurably larger than a single food item.

As a Kansas Citian, I have to admit it is only fair to say that Philly is a better overall city than KC in many categories, but I do appreciate the love that this video still showed KC. Personally though, as someone who has visited the northeast, I would never wanna live there. Some of the factors that weren’t considered in this video such as traffic and the people would definitely favor KC
Dealing with traffic is optional in big northeastern cities, you don’t necessarily need a car. Philly is compact and walkable. After I moved here I got rid of my car and I just walk everywhere and occasionally take transit. A lot of people commute by bike.
Of course there are people who reverse commute to the suburbs, so these people might have more of a reason to worry about that, but honestly I think more people have cars here than need them. I think for political reasons the city makes too many concessions to cars and is dragging their feet on dedicated bus lanes, and the traffic would be better if fewer people felt like it was worth it to drive, both from having their choice subsidized less and having better alternatives in the form of things like more frequent and reliable busses and bike infrastructure that’s actually protected.
There’s also a persistent narrative that public transit isn’t safe, and while it does have a lot of problems recently, nobody’s factoring in the fact that you’re 10x as likely to die in a car crash than on transit. Driving is not safe, people just feel safe because they’re lugging around their own living room

Philadelphia is a magnificent city. I've lived here for 20 years and I love it! As for museums, there is no comparison---Philly by a mile. Next to NYC and Washington,D.C. Philadelphia has the finest selection of Museums in the USA, including the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts--the FIRST art museum and art school in America!
The Barnes (art museum), The Rodin Museum, the Penn Museum, Eastern State Penitentiary, National Constitution Center; none of which were mentioned are all more substantial and interesting than KC's best. I could name 10-15 more easily. He didn't mention theatre district either. I'm calling for a review on the play lol

You picked South Street for your example of night life in Philadelphia!😂😂😂 South Street is bottom tier for nightlife. You could have picked Old City, Northern Liberties, Manyunk, Center City, among others.
South Street would have been numero uno in the 80's but certainly not now.
One thing I did not hear was higher education and learning. Philadelphia has some of the top notch colleges and universities in the country. We have Masterman, Central and Girls High Schools which ranked in the top 20 every year. Not to mention our renowned hospitals like the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia which ranks number one almost every year, Jefferson, Temple Hospital and the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania are known for their cancer lounge heart centers.
Fairmount park is the name of the entire park system which includes the Tookeny and Tacony Creek parks in Northeast Philly And there's parks and recreation centers in every neighborhood.
The people get a bad wrap because of fans can get a little Rowdy to Outsiders looking in but it's all done in love. The people in Philadelphia genuinely love each other. Even as bad as the crime is the police are pretty cool overall. Everyone in the neighborhood knows the police in their area because they blend in and actually talk to the people. It's like our former mayor Ed Rendell would say, if you let Philly beef Philly Philly will be okay. I love my city.
Perfectly said, even in the rougher parts of town 90% of the time you'll be fine and no one will mess with you.
Lifelong Philadelphian here. I love my city. Despite all of its flaws. There's always a great bar, museum, band playing, rustic park (pennypack and Fairmount), sports event, shopping, interesting neighborhood (I've lived in many), historical landmarks, etc - all easily accessed by public transportation or vehicle, or even bike. The Shore towns are even a hour or two away. Atlantic City is 45 minutes from the bridge. Wildwood is 3 hours by bus and is $21. I've taken it many times...
Now - that said, I've been to KC, many years ago. But, it was a late weeknight in the summer, and it was horrible. Blowing winds and dust, horrible allergies. We skated around, exploring and, after a few hours, saw NOT ONE OTHER PERSON. Not one. It was like that movie Damnation Alley. After a few hours, our eyes swollen shut and noses dripping, just left. No BBQ, or ANYTHING. I know maybe if it was on a weekend in a different part of town, the situation could have been better, but, wow! Bad experience that night.

Well I learned two new things by watching this video that I didn't know before, that two of California's most famous sports teams, the Golden State Warriors and Oakland As originated in Philadelphia, I somehow missed ot when Kyle said the As were from Philly. But caught it, did a double take and rewound when he said the Warriors were also from Philly.
The Athletics were in Kansas City before they were in Oakland.
It was Philadelphia, then Kansas City, then Oakland.

I am familiar with both cities. They are both wonderful cities. Philadelphia SHOULD win on museums. Franklin Institute Science Museum, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Natural History Museum, The Mutter Museum, The Museum of The University of Pennsylvania, The Norman Rockwell Museum, The Museum of The American Revolution, The Constitution Center, etc. However, I do love the Nelson in KC.

I moved to Philadelphia a few months ago and do with this information what you will but nobody here says “downtown Philadelphia.” The central district is called “Center City.” I guess you could call it “a downtown,” but it’s comprised of the old boundaries of the city of Philadelphia proper prior to 1854 and it’s kind of more than a downtown

Born and raised in Philly and we use “downtown” more than “center city”. We only use “center city” when talking about downtown to people not from the city.

As soon as KC and Philly won last week I started weighing whether I like cheesesteaks more or less than KC bar bq. I too, consider KC Bar BQ my favorite type of Bar BQ and I too adore cheesesteaks. I've driven from NYC to KC to sample KC Bar BQ and I've many times detoured to Philly for cheesesteaks. Well, it was a hard choice but in the end I came to the same decision as Kyle. KC Bar BQ is just so fine. Glad to see that he and I are on the same page on this one cause I really admire this guy.
Burnt ends are my favorite. I like going to Gates BBQ and get their Burnt End Sandwich with a side of Potato Salad. Damn I’m hungry!😂
i live in philly, cheesesteaks are good but overrated in-terms of what other great resturants and cuisines we have. but ppl always gravitate towards the big cheese, walk thru south philly tho and u will have endless great options from italian spots, a plethora of asian foods, mexican/cubano/venezuelan, endless did not even mention Indian or Mediterranean spots. we have great bbq too but i do not believe we can hold a candle to kansas city and not tryna brag, everyone just focuses on those dang cheesesteaks.

Oh Kyle…I love Kansas City! It’s my home!! But…having been to Philly & loved it…your rankings were fair. We are coming along here in the City of Fountains step by step, but Philadelphia is a great big city and highly underrated. It also helps when you’re one of the oldest cities in the country and can count Ben Franklin as one of your most famous residents. Hats off to you, Philly…but GO CHIEFS!!!!😃

I've lived in both cities and I agree with pretty much everything you said. I used to walk everywhere in Philly; I even traveled up to NY on a regular basis without having a car the entire time. I'm pretty sure the *only* time I ever walked around downtown KC was that one time the Royals won the World Series and there was a massive parade. Suddenly the place became walkable! lol.
The architecture at the Country Club Plaza is modeled after Seville, Spain. It's one of the jewels of the Midwest in my opinion.

It's all about location. Philadelphia is close to the coast, halfway between NYC and Washington DC. Kansas City is closer to.......corn. but it's really not a fair comparison. Philadelphia is a LOT larger than KC. I'm in NYC, I think Philadelphia is the most underrated big city in the US.
I’m a recent transplant from Philly (1yr in KCMO). Hands down Philly, just more to do and awesome spot for a foodie like me. I like the laid back style and inexpensive items in KCMO, in my opinion/experience
Yeah I agree. The food scene here sucks. I moved down to KC 2 years ago from Omaha. Which is a smaller city but the food scene was way better up there. I did not expect to have a downgrade in that regard moving to a bigger city lol.

When I've been to Kansas City it has always given me the impression that nothing has happened there since 1985. The buildings, the stadium, the airport, the highways, the stores, the people... Just everything looks like trapped 40 years ago. It's not a bad city, but I feel it... Uninteresting.
In a way, I find it as a boring and conservative version of Denver.

Great and timely video. As for the variety of museums, however, I don’t think Philly can be beat. Philly has 2 your viewers should know about. The Mutter Museum is a collection of medical artifacts; I challenge anyone to come up with a more unusual (weird), but captivating museum. And the Battleship New Jersey is just across the river in Camden. One can’t visit the Battleship Missouri in KC.

As someone who moved to Kansas City two years ago. I've found it more boring than I expected. Super sprawled out means long drives times to get anywhere interesting. Many of the nicer restaurants I liked when I first moved here have since closed down. To add to that overall one of the less impressive restaurant scenes I've seen in the US. Hoping to move elsewhere next year.

The preference for, or against, high rises certainly is subjective. Most European cities have shunned them, whereas American cities think they're great.

There are many attractions in Swope Park: the KC Zoo, Starlight Theater, 3 golf courses, numerous trails and natural areas. Scheduled events at night are generally safe there. Fairmount Park is in many ways similar, but I wouldn’t wander around alone in either at night, particularly on the northwest side of Swope or the eastern edge of Fairmount

Kansas City's public transport has been improving over the years by adding streetcar downtown and the streetcar is now getting updated I think in 2025 to the point where it will now go all the way down to the plaza but it probaly is still a long way from beating Philadelphia in transportation

Good one. The main thing that this comparison is missing is about the "people."
"GEOGRAPHY" King..."people" category would be way too subjective. Even his comparison points here are very subjective (food/museums). After all the fun, I like this video because it does tell you about advantages/disadvantages found in the old Northeast cities vs. The Midwest.

I've spent a lot of time in KC and I love it... some people on the east coast wonder why because they don't know any better... my only issue with KC (if I were to live there) is that there's not much physical beauty near by (I love change of scenery with mountains, forrests, ocean etc)... but KC is awesome!....I also live in Philly and it's a love/hate relationship to be honest... there's a ton of history and culture. There's always something going on. You'd be surprised how friendly people actually are for the most part... old narrow streets, history, festivals, museums, artists, music, sports, great food... Philly is great, but it's also tiring sometimes with the crime and violence. I've been to many places and nothing comes close, it's almost like the wild wild west combined with being an east coast city... I love Philly but you have to be careful 24/7 . Just my honest opinion
Btw, Philly has really good food (Mexican and Korean BBQ for example)... not just cheesesteaks

You really need to take the cities entire food scenes into account, Philly wins that hands down
As a resident of a KC suburb there are two things that could really improve. First, public transit. Buses barely exist here. Second, clean up Wyandotte. Easier said than done but I've seen some progress on that front lately. Unfortunately some areas are beyond recovery, like Quindarro, but if the crime and poverty in eastern KCK were diminished it would be huge...those areas have huge untapped charm

Doesn't change the fact that the Chiefs will be closing the gap on that Championship stat here soon, lol! As a KC transplant for just about a decade coming from Chicago, my biggest gripe about the town is the transportation and walkability. It's getting better with the streetcar, but generally just the culture around distances greater than only half a mile, folks typically turn the keys to get there... It kinda makes sense when you consider how easy it is to park everywhere, but blah - I'd rather have less parking and more cool stuff to see. More than happy losing to Philly - it's a rad town that goes too easily overlooked.
