One thing missed about the 360 controller. Around 2010-2011, the 360 controllers had a transforming D-Pad which you could change to have a better D-Pad or the original 360 D-Pad
Yes thank you, also the blue version of that is the best 360 controller
It's not that much better though, still feels mostly the same as the original D-pad but you can rotate it so it's more obvious what direction you're trying to use. The real improvement didn't come until the Xbox One.
Dude I have a gold 360 controller that can do that and it’s so fun to fidget with during cutscenes

For anyone that don't know before Microsoft made consoles they actually partner with Saga with the Dreamcast with the online so I believe that most of their knowledge about consoles really came from them so I wouldn't be surprised at the original Xbox controller is based off Dreamcast since that's all the knowledge they got from console the time

It’s awesome for you to make videos on Games outside of Nintendo, I would love to see you make videos on games, you have not talked about on your channel before, like Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Skylanders, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, and many others.
He really should have played and talked about the Crash and Spyro Switch games at least, they highly rated and loved by fans, which is more debatable for the post PS1-pre Switch games

2:23 That's the whole reason why it exists, to make you move around, unlike the Wii where you can cheat and play sitting down, instead of actually doing some effort. Maybe it doesn't have the most accurate body tracking, but saying it's too exhausting to use it because you move your body to play games (which is the reason that controller exists) is absolutely insane. That's just my opinion, not coming as hate.
The seres 2 does have two issues, a large batch used low quality bumper triggers, sometimes they Wil fail to respond and eventually die outright, and the rubber parts will start peeling if exposed to heat and moisute. Bonus, easy removal front shell so you can at least fix the second issue if the front shell's rubber starts peeling. They also ALL come with a warranty for a year on purchase.

All of them are great but I think the third party ones are best. I use the Gamesir G7 SE controller. Its layout is a little different but it has Hall effect triggers and analog sticks. The Hall effect means that the parts are magnetic and never touch each other meaning IT CANNOT GET DRIFT. Besides that it has anti friction rings around the analogs so the sticks don’t collect friction while being pushed against the edge. It has two mappable back buttons that you can lock if you don’t want to use them. It has 4 functions that control game audio if you have a wired headset. It has a magnetic faceplate so you can easily access the buttons if they get grime. It’s also paint friendly so you can customize it. It has great grips on the triggers and back of the controller. The only thing it’s missing from a new gen controller is not having a riveted d pad and auxiliary port at the bottom but the d pad is normal so you can control sound output. And it’s cheaper than the normal controller at only 45 dollars! I 💯 recommend it
Hot take, but the Kinect is extremely underrated. For that tech to drop in 2010 is amazing. The fact that you do have to use your full body is great exercise, opposed to being able to cheese on the Wii. My family still plays Kinect Sports to this day.

it's kinda sad, the kinect could've been really cool but the games really didn't use the kinect and it's tec to the limits, most never even move the kinect up and down to provide more accurate tracking
I actually know a person born without arms or legs. He did not use the special controller and only used the xbox 1 one. He beat the dark souls trilogy without limbs! Only his face!

The Xbox doesn't have a built in IR receiver. Most DVD players and TVs do. So it does work like a regular remote
There's also the fact that the dongle has an executable on it for the DVD player program. They apparently did this due to some form of licensing issues/to cut costs a bit.

the coolest thing you can do with the connect camera/ the xone camera, is use it for motion capturing, there are some programs that let you set up the xbox and ps cameras to do motion capture
IIRC the og xbox dvd remote needed that plug because the console does not have a license for dvd playback and that plug held the license so that way they saved a couple of dollhairs on the console

i have the series x/s controller and it seems like a pretty good controller. feels more premium than my ps4 ones and i dont really mind the batteries as i only use the controller for my laptop and sparingly at that

What I loved about the 360 controller is whenever you need to change its batteries it’s more simple then the wii remote granted most controllers nowadays, just use a wire to charge it so yeah, but it’s still better as an easier accessibility feature sorta thing

13:13 Back buttons aren't really useful on console, but they're _insanely_ useful on PC, especially on the Steam Deck. I always map L4 as a screenshot and I occasionally map other stuff to the others. One is a screen swapper for Cemu.

I don’t know if I am 100% right with this but in the UK there is a TV box (cable) provider called Sky and in their like high tech TV’s which include the cable they have a Kinect style controller actually made by Microsoft. I find this funny because this was after the series consoles came out way after the Kinect stopped.

Fun Facts: The Xbox One Media Remote also works on the Xbox Series X. And the same can be said for the original Xbox One controllers and it's updated variants.
The Hyperkin Xenon is easily my favorite controller. I _REALLY_ hope they'll make a wireless version with better sticks.

I play kinect sports with my friends and its the funniest thing ever how it glitches, i have a fun time with them even if it doesnt work well😂
It's too bad the bumpers on my Series 2 controller aren't really responsive. I have to apply force just for them to function. I tried fixing them but failed.
My family used the xbox one Kinect to call our grandparents through skype because the camera was really good so I guess it was good at that

Alright, but the kinect was at least fully integrated into the Xbox menu setups. It was a genuine functional controller.

As someone with big hands, I didn’t mind the duke’s size. The white/black buttons felt unnecessary. Also I can’t criticize the logo not being a button when most controllers just used it as a logo space until the 360/ps3 gen.
For my money the 360 was their best controller. The dpad was awful but it wasn’t used that often at least in games I played.
It’s disappointing but I haven’t liked the Xbox controllers since the Xbox one on. When they slightly changed the shape of the bottom of the controllers, they became too small around the handles so my fingers are cramped. They also made the center of the thumbsticks smaller. The only solution to the thumbsticks is to buy the elite to get the “classic” thumbsticks or to buy covers. I hope one day they make a slightly bigger controller with an option to have the classic thumbsticks, but they seem to believe they perfected their controller with this design.

The Gamesir SE is a officially licensed Xbox controller that is pretty much the elite controller but with non drift sticks, that is my personal opinion best xbox controller

I used to play Grabbed by the Ghoulies, X-men, Spider-man movie: the game, and a knockoff Transfomers game (I forgot of what was that game called again but it was fun though) on the Microsoft's very legendary first Game system.

A short while after bying the original Xbox at launch I actually ended up bying an imported Japanese controller. It couldn't have been that uncommon either as it was listed in gaming magazines at the time. I think it was practically identical to the "s" version that later became standard. While the size was part of the problem, The Duke's face buttons were absolutely terrible and actually hurt to press.
The Xbox Kinect did the "my body is ready" thing then the Wii 😮

I still believe that the Xbox 360 controller is the greatest video game controller ever made. I like how Microsoft has taken an “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach with their controller, just improving on the Xbox 360 controller for two console generations

The Series X/S controller lacks the fancy rumble and gyroscope features the other two consoles have, but man it just feels so good in your hands.
But it's also way cheaper, has a better battery life, and is way more easily customizable (there's an entire official website that lets you get your own custom designed one and/or series controller)
