I’ve never used my keyboard controller for phantasy star, but the psychic damage it deals out when I bring it to smash events is absolutely worth it

What's really neat about the Gamecube ASCII Keyboard controller, is that it actually is still fully functional with Phantasy Star Online. Preferably when playing I & II Plus, fan-made servers are still up to this day, where you can play through the Gamecube with the broadband adapter, or through the Wii with the use of Homebrew. Obviously, it's rather uncommon to see people play online on fan-made PSO servers such as Schthack, for example, let alone using the Gamecube Keyboard to chat online. But, it's really cool to see that the keyboard still has use!
I play still play PSO on dreamcast! I also play PSU clementine (private server for PSU) on my PC!
My friend has the keyboard controller, and likes using it because of its ergonomic with your hands shoulder width apart lol

9:45 to update about the use of the Guitar Hero Wii Controller, it can also be used for Clone Hero, you gotta hook it up to a PC with an adapter (wireless or wired) then make sure the keybinds are put in correctly before using it.

I actually appreciate the n64 glove alot. My cousin got in a car accident and lost all movement in the lower half of his body and he lost his left hand trying to escape. This controller allowed him to keep playing his favorite games.

So many memories have been unexpectedly unlocked from watching this 🙂 from playing with a LodgeNet N64 to testing out Smash 4 with a DDR pad to when I owned Guitar hero on the Wii and actually ordered a wire for the drum pad and fixed it myself when I was 12. I also had a MadCatz controller for my PS2.

Honourable mention: 8bitdo SN30 Pro+
This controller is one of the most compatible third party controller out there. It's original conception was to be a Switch Pro but with the PS3 layout. It even has motion controls like the official Nintendo controller. It's like the Beboncool in the video but functions phenomenally and even has a capture button and home button down in the corners.
The only issue I have is the joycons. I recconmend replacing the analog sticks with the actual ones as it's original is sadly PS4. PS3 joysticks are just more secure and gripping to me. That is easy to replace if you know what you're doing but it's still a lovely replacement.
It has the layout as the original minus the switch of the joystick and dpad in the style of the PlayStation as I said. It's a bit small but it's mold is the same as the original so accessories for the Switch Pro often work for it aside from the switch holder that slides onto the console and controller for better comfort when not on TV mode.
I highly recommend it despite its price being up to $60, but it's very durable and can even sync up to a PS3, PS4, has an upcoming support for PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One/X, has a third party driver for Wii/GameCube and even works nicely PC and is reconised as a Pro controller by Steam, meaning it's software is the same as the original Nintendo Pro controller. It's got some different button set ups for the modes on consoles which is a bit tricky to memorise but that's the only downside aside from the size for some and the joycon being PS4 based. There is a version 2 that has the two back PS5 buttons which is pretty neat so it has a long life ahead of it. This is one of the best PS3 layout switch pro alternatives on the market. I highly recommend it for its great design, durability and compatibility.

I have the Racermate cartridge, NES, and bikestand that was compatible with the NES. Definitely super weird and rare, but not very sought after or heard of. The perfect collectible.

The NTT Data pad is actually fully functional with some snes to usb adapters, giving you arguably the best controller for emulating the snes on a pc. The extra buttons can be mapped to other commands in emulators, like save states and speed up/down.

The 8-bit do controller is meant to be used for the switch lite so that you have a compact controller for your friends to use so you can still play multiplayer games on your switch lite

For the beboncool controller, the way that you capture something is by pressing both the plus and minus buttons at the same time then releasing
I must be crazy, but I remember my MadCatz controller having actual rubber on the side handles. It may have been a fancier controller cause of it, but as a kid the size was much better for me.

15:40 The MadCatz pads allowed you to input B and Y buttons with the same thumb, which other GameCube pads don't allow you to do. Performing supers in fighting games just seems easier with the MadCatz GameCube pads when linked up to a PS3 via MayFlash adapter.

Two awesome controller accessories I had for NES and SNES,
NES: a snap on sleeve which had a thumb sized joystick for the D pad. Worked PERFECTLY, had the best, most smooth response when used with a stock NES controller. It helped me with so many games.
SNES: a TYCO branded accessory which allowed the user to program buttons on the controller. Perfect for fighting games and anything else a player may have wanted to have "macros" for. You could program seemingly unlimited button presses per one button. Instant programmable hadukens and fatalities. Gobs of fun as a teen in the 90's. Look for it. I don't remember it's name, but it was TYCO branded, that much I'll never forget. Thing was absolutely awesome.

I have the RE4 chainsaw, its fun to use but only with smaller hands. Its nice that they were a unique set. Each controller had unique blood splatter patterns and serial numbers on a metal plate. It comes in a nice case too. The coolest part for me is the controller wire can disconnect for storage and display. They made a functional controller that is also a good shelf item for RE fans

I had a see-through version of the Super Pad Plus 64 controller. It worked great, until the joystick got stuck a few years later.
