Let's put into perspective how ludicrous 1 Million collectibles would be, for funsies. The game that currently holds the record for most collectables is Donkey Kong 64 at 3,821. So a game with 1Mil would be 262x as large as that game. If this game was the densest Collectathon on earth, and you collected one collectible per SECOND, it would still take you Eleven and a half DAYS of constant play to 100% If there was one MINUTE between each collectable that would go up to 690 days. 1.8 YEARS of nonstop play to 100% But obviously nobody would actually do that, real people can't play nonstop. But let's be generous and say you can find a way to put aside 8 Hours a day to play 1Mil. I did some research. Assuming you get the same time as every 100% record for all these games, you spend 2 days, 13 hours 43 minutes, and 3 seconds playing. But that is straight. If you add in time to sleep, you get 4 days, 13 hours, 43 minutes, and 3 seconds. Assuming you spend five minutes eating every day, you then have 4 days, 15 hours, 28 minutes, and 3 seconds. Then going to the bathroom for half an our daily (average), you have 4 days, 18 hours, 58 minutes, and 3 seconds. Adding 42 minutes to heat up your food in the microwave is 4 days, 19 hours, 40 minutes, and 3 seconds. Then turning on the console and inserting a game turns into 4 days, 19 hours, 59 minutes and 7 seconds. Turning on the TV for the console games makes it 4 days 20 hours, 1 minute and 52 seconds. Adding in necessary 30 minute breaks twice every day equals 5 days, 3 hours, 1 minute, and 52 seconds. Then there is an average walking time of half an hour which makes it 5 days, 3 hours, 31 minutes, and 52 seconds. Finally, adding in times for mistakes errors and doing random things whatever, ends up with the grand total of 5 days 4 hours, 21 minutes, and 52 seconds. That is if you are efficient about everything and own the world record speedrun for every game.
You are incredible, Nathaniel. To me, it doesn’t matter that you couldn’t do it. You are right. Super Mario Oddysey is stupidly hard to 100%. Even though at the time of writing (13:13, Friday 1st September) I have about 825 or something moons, and I’ve had the game for 4 months, and 3 days. God bless you, Nathaniel.
Damn, Nathaniel looked so miserable on his webcam lol, I would never put myself through something like that, congratulations on making it to the end man!
Normally, I take the approach of 'if you didn't complete it, you didn't complete it', but the second I saw this title, I knew that it would be tiring, draining and mentally challenging, I just thought to myself that it would drive you to insanity... and I was right. You pushed yourself far too hard as it was, so leaving Odyssey the ONLY game not 100%, but still going for the 500 power moons, completing the darker side AND getting ALL the purple coins... I can only commend you and count the challenge as complete.
Fun fact: I actually went back to Mario Galaxy in 3D All Stars recently and while I beat the whole game as Mario, I played through the whole game again as Luigi and fully 100% it in less than a day^^

This is it, Nathaniel is clinicly insane. Jokes aside, it's impressive that you 100% every 3d mario game except odyssey in a week, that is pretty damn close to your goal!
For anyone who does not have time to watch the entire video: the answer is "no". He cannot 100% all 3D Mario games in one week. He completed all except Odyssey. He worked his ass off though and it's quite impressive. Well done Bandy, you gave it your 100% ;-)
How’d you know that I recently started rewatching your old Mario challenge videos after I first saw The Super Mario Bros. Movie last weekend? 😂😂😂 Welp, thanks for continuing to make these really fun Mario game videos!
My guy got to play videogames exactly as they're intended for once. Some of the challenge videos I watch like yours actually influence how I play games normally though and I love it. Makes me think about if the mandatory path is really all that mandatory.
100%ing Mario Odyssey isn’t as hard as you think. Once you see a mini star on your save file, that’s Nintendo’s way of saying you 100% the game. Now, to get this star would require 880 moons, 1000 purple coins, and all costumes. Now you do not need 999 moons as Nathaniel B said because duplicate moons (moons you buy with coins) literally do not matter. For all costumes, he mentioned you need the DLC costumes. You do not, the star does not count DLC costumes at all. Now this is still an egregious amount of playing super Mario odyssey to even get the 100% star but it isn’t as much he previously thought.
I was playing Super Mario 64 and I entered a level at the exact same time as 10:11 in the video and it was in perfect synchronization and I now feel like my luck for this run has doubled!
The Mario odyssey speed run record is almost 9 hours long. And that’s with knowing dozens of strata and memorizing the perfect routing. I honestly would have been really impressed if you had managed to finish this challenge.
I know I'm SUPER late but GG still! That is an incredible achievement and honestly I have no idea how you managed to pull through and do it. Mad respect man 😃 Btw regarding Odyssey, 100% actually does not need all of the costumes, or 999 moons, or any of that. Yes you need 880 moons, 1000 purple coins, all captures, music and souvenirs, as well as the main game costumes, but you don't need the DLC costumes or the hat on the castle. So you don't need 100k coins, more like 25k, still an insane amount, but you can use the dino subarea in cascade to coin-dupe, and get around 200 coins per minute. I know it's useless now lol but at least now you know
Honestly speedrunning all 3D Mario Games is unbearably painful as lots of unfairness happens like stupid camera angles or stupid long and unskippable cutscenes but it seems that you had guts to actually complete everything in every single game. You deserve a rest especially after knowing all the suffering you had went through.
7:58 I don't know if he banned exploits from this challenge of his, but it's freaking hilarious seeing him struggle in that grate section when it turns out the Ferris wheel's collision at high speed doesn't work properly and you can just hover through it from the red coin shine platform and reach the sleeping Electro-Koopa in a quick and painless manner.

Nathaniel I want to thank you for this splendid 40 minutes of entertainment you delivered on this fine sunday.
Can we just appreciate how this man almost went insane to give us content.
Nathaniel Bandy is truly a king gamer for doing this
I cant even play a mario game for more than 2 hours without getting tired
Epic
Damn, Nathaniel looked so miserable on his webcam lol, I would never put myself through something like that, congratulations on making it to the end man!
@lumas_ wut?
Fun fact: I actually went back to Mario Galaxy in 3D All Stars recently and while I beat the whole game as Mario, I played through the whole game again as Luigi and fully 100% it in less than a day^^
I have been playing A LOT of 3D all-stars recently that it is actually unhealthy. I’m almost done with 64 and I almost got 120 stars with Mario
Edit: I just beat sm64
@@ANintendoGameBoy 3DAS SM64 is not good
@@RoseQuartz692 why not? aw i forgot your poor gliched backward long jump is patched. WHO CARES???!?! Its a fun game without that.
@@therypanda who said that was the reason
@@some_random_guy5763 thats what every one says. the gliches were patched to make the game fair. every one said it was bad because the gliches that were patched
11:45 Pac-Man world two music in the background is just a blessing
Oh my gosh dude your impression of Mario at 16:50 was SPOT ON! 👏🏽👏🏽
Nathaniel, you are a legend!! Now that you’ve 100% all of the 3d Mario games, 100% every single Mario game.
7:44 Fun fact if you dive at the corner of that thing, you’ll actually get an infinite loop of mario getting bonked until you jump
I'll be replaying this video all the time! Not just for your free watchtime but because this was an amazing grind! Well done Big Bandy!
When Nathaniel uploads, my day feels so much better
Randomly found this video today but much respect to you for doing this! Awesome job.
This is it, Nathaniel is clinicly insane. Jokes aside, it's impressive that you 100% every 3d mario game except odyssey in a week, that is pretty damn close to your goal!
true
Someone did 100% in Mario Odessy in 9 hours
@@MoldyDuchess487 Ik, but nathaniel isn't a top tier speedrunner so that doesn't matter
Can we just appreciate Nathaniel for playing Mario for 7 days in a row
For anyone who does not have time to watch the entire video: the answer is "no". He cannot 100% all 3D Mario games in one week. He completed all except Odyssey. He worked his ass off though and it's quite impressive.
Well done Bandy, you gave it your 100% ;-)
Even though you didn’t finish 100% all of them, that is still far beyond an accomplishment. Really great job. I’ve only ever 100% a few Mario Games
Man you deserve a trophy for this. Amazing video Nathan!
16:55 there’s actually 121 screens, as there’s 11 rows and 11 lines, and 11^2 = 121
16:43 Nice Impressions 🤣🤣🤣
You can't say you're "100%-ing Mario Sunshine" without getting the blue coin stars. That's a whole 24 shine sprites.
16:46 This got me dying on the floor
DA DUN DA DA DA DUN
no
@@Caterev0038coolyes
Nathaniel being crazy has always. That's one of the reasons I love this channel.
35:17 You really didn't realize that until six years later?
I was playing Super Mario 64 and I entered a level at the exact same time as 10:11 in the video and it was in perfect synchronization and I now feel like my luck for this run has doubled!
DUDE YOURE A FKING LEGEND. This is commitment to the max . You deserve all . This is insane
I love your content, Nathaniel. You are a great person.
Mad respect to Nathaniel Bandy for going through this all with a 7 day limit
The Mario odyssey speed run record is almost 9 hours long. And that’s with knowing dozens of strata and memorizing the perfect routing.
I honestly would have been really impressed if you had managed to finish this challenge.
31:41 me when i get a good grade:
I know I'm SUPER late but GG still! That is an incredible achievement and honestly I have no idea how you managed to pull through and do it. Mad respect man 😃
Btw regarding Odyssey, 100% actually does not need all of the costumes, or 999 moons, or any of that. I know it's useless now lol but at least now you know
19:01 I'll hold a minute of silence for the horrible conditions you had to endure.
...sorry
I’m glad to know someone else is actually noticing flaws with sunshine
my mom once threw the super mario sunshine disc because of how much the game sucked.
I feel that if you like Sunshine, you are a Sunshine speedrunner. It also helps that speedrunning Sunshine bypasses some of the worst challenges.
Me: can't study for school
Also me: studying and grinding a game for 12 hours a day
The moral to this story is: never rush through a masterpiece because you miss the beauty….great video i love these games
For all the dedication and obstacles you encountered doing this, mad props for the amount of Mario games you were able to beat in a week.
I gotta give a lot of respect for Nathaniel bandy for even attempting this he deserves a award from Nintendo
18:20 “was tired of listening to mario music” *loads up more mario music*
Man, you really are pushing your limits for us. My fullest Respect.
I love watching these guys talk about Mario on TH-cam. Not the adulthood I imagined for myself, but a good one
It took me almost a whole year to complete every main Mario game. This guy is insane.
Fun fact: The 100% Speedrun of odysseys world record is at 8 hours 33 minutes and 57 seconds.
27:40 probably because it's loading the same boss cutscenes you saw already, so it lets you skip them
31:34 Splatoon Fans after the release of Splatoon 3:
I knew you were done when you included odyssey. I love that to 100% it takes days. Still best game ever
0:06 I don’t know who this guy is yet, this video just showed up in my recommended but I specifically watched it because I enjoyed Yakko’s video so it’s nice to know we have similar taste
I never thought a video about a guy sharing his experiences with playing video games throughout the week would be so anxiety inducing, dang
