I ordered a Model X Long Range 6 seater in April ‘21 and my estimated delivery just got booted from July ‘22 to a range of December ‘22-April ‘23. I’m not happy. So I just reserved a Lucid Air Touring (just before price increase) and will see which gets delivered first. I may end up never owning a Tesla, not by my choice but by theirs. My original estimated delivery date was August ‘21, this isn’t acceptable.
Can you explain what it feels like to have extreme wealth? Lol i want to experience it for the few moments that I read your response.

Wow, I ordered an X, 6 seater, FSD, and optional interior color in Jan 2021. Mine is delayed til Dec-april 2023. It's fucking infuriating. Gonna go look at the iX this weekend now. If no dealer markup, I'm sold.

While ordering a Tesla in August 2021 has become a patience test - I am optimistic that this will beco a great experience when we take delivery of our Model Y AWD LR with 7 seats in white. Tow hitch added. Will subscribe to FSD when functions evolve to autonomous. Hopeful we will take deliver in 2022. We realize so much value in our PV solar system with Tesla power walls.
Thanks again for another great video. I’m one of the VINs affected by the ECU chip shortage. My car has been sitting at the delivery Center since May 4. It’s frustrating because the estimated delivery date just updates every day to show the next day. I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.
I got my plaid in jun 24th. It was preordered in Nov 2021. tesla Rocks.
I ordered a MYLR September 2021 and got a Vin in late April 2022 and since then haven't heard back from tesla for the final delivery date..
And another spot on video! I placed my order a couple of weeks ago for the model 3 long range and had a delivery estimate of September to October 29. I checked this morning and it’s been pushed back November 20 to January 15. I wanted the car in January originally, so I’m not disappointed but I hope it doesn’t come later than that.

So does it make a difference if I apply for the loan through the Tesla app? The problem I thought was it does a credit check every 3 months. Is there ay real way to shorten the EDD I order my LRY in Dec 2021 and I am now at July 29th till Sep 1st.
You showed an example of a buyer who has been waiting for delivery and mentioned something about "they used a credit union". why does using a credit union matter vs any other bank?
My model 3 was originally to deliver in June, then March, then May, now July-August.

just got my vin tonight 5/31. expecting to get a call tomorrow. ordered m3 long range grey on white on 3/10. Time frame was 5/28-6/28 the entire time until last week. date narrowed to 6/8-6/22. tonight 5/31 i got the vin and EDD is now 6/4-6/10
My Tesla Model 3 Long Range was delayed two weeks because of the missing charge port part. I just picked it up today after it had been waiting at the service center for those two weeks. Was definitely an inconvenience being my lease was about to end, but at least it wasn’t the 4-7 week wait they originally gave me.
I order a Model S back in January they moved my delivery from June 19 to July 17 to September 19...do you know why?

I’m also experiencing a significant delay for my Model 3 long range ordered beginning of December 2021, initially promised by beginning of May 2022, now delayed until Q4 2022 - Q1 2023. So the shortage in parts seems to be more important a factor then the 3 weeks of shutdown in China?

I have a 2020 Model Y Performance with ~280 miles of range at 100%, or ~250 at 90% give or take. I travel from Vegas to LA often, and I never really worry about range.. I think range anxiety is a thing for people who are either pushing past what tesla nav recommends or don't drive a tesla. Its pretty idiot proof.
Also, my Model X LR estimate went from September 2022 to April 2023 then back down to October 2022-December 2022. Im. not in a rush nd its interesting to watch it fluctuate. Im excited for it!

aptx Hd codec or wi fi streaming from your phone would help with fidelity .
There’s an implication to sharing a Wifi connection for Airplay.
This means
1) Tesla hotspot sharing - possible
2) tesla hosting separate ssid, non internet routing, strictly to enable airplay connectivity. Unsure if this is enough to stream tho.
I ordered an x long range Jan 3, 2021. As of now I have had 8 updated delivery notices. Up until last Friday delivery was set for June 15 to July 15, 2022 and I was getting excited. The date then changed on Friday and now shows Dec. 22 through Apr 2023…what’s really annoying is that Tesla Fremont reached out to me last Oct. and had me upgrade to a 6 seater with a promise I would have it by Christmas for sure…..and guess what…..
The delivery dates for my Model 3 long range was just posted up about 2 weeks to June 13-27. Im psyched but hopefully I don’t experience any of these issues they seem to be having. Ive already been buying accessories like crazy… Roof rack, home charger, wheel center caps, floor mats!
I’m still upset that they took away the farting feature outside while in drive. I would always have it programmed to be able to press the left steering wheel button instead of having ti press it from the screen. It was hilarious at drive throughs or at a red light with someone that had their windows down
i noticed range estimate changes in my MYP when towing last weekend. I had disconnected the trailer and was heading home, and i knew it took about 9% battery to get home, but it was predicting like 16% being used, so it was calculating as if i was still towing the trailer.
If you use the energy app it will be more accurate than the guess o meter and will adapt much faster to your driving style. Also if your doing that sort of trip often it would be worth using scan my tesla app and adapter to see how much kWh you have left in the battery. It will reduce anxiety as you know exactly how much energy you have left in the tank.
My delivery date for a mylr in the uk has gone from 2 weeks ago to September / end of October. I’m wondering if they are going to start deliveries to the uk from the Berlin factory instead of Shanghai as q3/4 is when Berlin is apparently planned to take over European supplies from china.

A big issue in the US is the electric pick ups lacking range with hauling or towing which is a big market in America.
VIN received for a model 3 April 29th, arrived at the SC May 5th, and been on a “Hold” for the Charge Port ECU….everyday the update is that we have no idea when the part will come and you’ll have to wait until we text you when the part becomes available.
Shocking part is, Tesla has been shipping out new cars with the new charge port ECU for 2 weeks straight…they’re prioritizing new deliveries and letting the 8,000 + charge port hold cars sit on lots for 3-4 weeks before getting around to delivering them. No end in sight.
Ordered one yesterday, said it could take till December. Fingers crossed it’s stays that way

I ordered Oct 2021 with an estimated delivery date of Oct 22. Then it changed to May-June 22 (with no notice) and then to Nov.-Feb 23 (again without notice). The original date of Oct 22 was perfectly aligned with the end of my Nissan lease, but now I'm having to buy out the lease to have a car through potentially the winter. I live in Iowa so I have to do my own financing and have that set up with a local credit union. They are just on hold until I have a VIN number, but I will wait until I have a pick up date to complete that process. I got so frustrated at one point I went over to Fisker Ocean and put down money there too.

i ordered my standard range+ back at the end of aug, with a nov est delivery date. it's been pushed back to july 23-aug 27. if i get pushed back again, i'm gonna look into getting another ev

I bought my Model 3 Long Range in early January with an estimated delivery date between mid March and end of March. That's gotten delayed quite a few times since and my car has been at a nearby service center since I got the VIN at the end of April and I'm still waiting for the chip for the charging port and it's now the last day of May. I'm excited to drive my Tesla since I've heard great reviews from friends, I'm just disappointed in the constant delay for pickup with no firm estimated delivery date for this part and/or the car.

The model X delays are so crazy, I went ahead and ordered mine BEFORE I have even taken delivery of my Model Y. I will be trading in the Y for the X.

Ordered my model 3 last year on Oct 2021. so far pushed back 6-7 times. delivery date was July 5 - Aug 16, 2022. Yesterday it got pushed back again to July 20 - August 24, 2022. I’m close to 1 year of waiting. Delivery dates are ridiculously out of whack. Company definitely should address this soon.
Let me tell you about delays. I odered a M3LR back in mid october with EDD in February. Care hasn't arived yet and with no prospects this Q either. I am from Transylvania and eastern europe is a new-ish market to Tesla hence these delays, but i'm still heartbroken that the car isn't and and it won't be here for AT LEAST a few more months. It will probably be a year or more since my initial order when eventually get it.

If I have to wait until September for a Model Y I ordered back in early March what is the chance I can buy a Chevy Bolt, a Cadillac Lyriq or a Ford 150 EV any sooner?? I never hear about these wait times and just wondered. Maybe you can do a TH-cam for comparison. Enjoy you channel.
If you don't already have a reservation for the Ford F150, you first have to get a reservation. Which they are not taking at the moment. So, when they do re-open reservations, jump in and you should get a Lightning by 2024, as the 2023 inventory is sold out. Too bad all the EV makers are not able to build vehicles fast enough. There is tremendous demand, and with gas in the $5-$6 range, demand will only increase.
We have been trying to get a bolt as our van is giving up the ghost. It will be several months for that vehicle. It is a tough game right now.
It's crazy right now how much demand there is for electric vehicles. Only a few years ago, nobody even thought they wanted an electric truck. I think the Ford F150 electric is the coolest truck ever made, because it's got everything you could ever need, and nothing you don't need. I was thinking today about how I talked to my boss in 2008, and we had a huge disagreement about electric cars. I told my boss that it was "unacceptable" that you could not purchase an electric car in 2008. My boss tried to make excuses for the auto companies, and said they really just "had marketing myopia" and they simply hadn't thought about electric cars before! I got mad, because the auto companies have known about electric cars for 100 years, and they should have been selling small electric work cars and trucks for the last 100 years. The only reason electric cars are even for sale at all now is due to Elon Musk forcing the industry to stop profiting from gasoline. Obviously auto companies have been making HUGE kickbacks of money from oil companies, which explains gas mileage staying the same for the last 40 years.
@@Ritalie I do agree if it were not for ELON MUSK, the EV industry in the US would still be 2008. He pushed the industry ahead by about 10 years. Eventually the world, i.e. China would have adopted EVs, just not at this pace. In the meantime, demand far exceeds availability in the United States. It is going to take until 2025 to see all the other manufacturers bring an appreciable amount of vehicles to market. (Rivian's 20,000 a year and Lucid's 10,000 a year is just a drop in the bucket).

Ordered X with 6 seater, FSD, and interior optional color in Jan 21', delayed 5-6 times to Dec-April 2023 now. Just what in the holy fuck?! I even bought the 2022 Model S LR with alike options...2 of their top tier cars and I get shafted like I only reserved a SR model 3. Unreal.
Thanks for addressing the delays, Ryan. Apparently the delays include front windshields as well, as I have been waiting for 5 weeks for a replacement after a rock strike back in April.
I drive well over 300 miles 2 or 3 times every week for my small business. I've been resisting the urge to buy a Tesla because I would have to supercharge multiple times a week. I'm sure that would have a big impact on battery life over time, right? Would love to see a 400-500 mile range car soon
Once you own an EV you realize that this line of thought is not necessary. As long as you do a slow charge every now and then you will minimize the degradation by balancing the cell voltage. Other option is getting model 3 with an LFP battery where you have much less degradation over time. They are more robust than the Nickel batteries.
Me too, got a model s about 1,5 years ago. Would never switch again, as it’s just so much more convenient and charging is done either at my destination while I’m in meetings or during a 20 min stop, so it’s totally fine :)
you must be spending a lot on gas these days. figure out how much cheaper the electric will cost you- and then you might not feel so bad about having to stop and recharge.
Ummm….Lucid offers 406 miles of Range on the Pure and Touring models starting at $87,000. The Grand Touring offers up to 516 mikes of range but is a bit more expensive.
You need a Diesel
You should do a test where you take the back seats out for a couple weeks and see how much extra range you get.
I got 27 more miles averaged out now my modal 3 gets 332 miles to the charge rather then 305.
Why do I say this well because we all know tesla can get way more range if they drop more weight.

In my opinion one of the main reasons Americans aren't into ev's is the cost to buy one. Let's face it, 40k is a tall order for most people especially those who are making rent payments/food payments etc. etc.
yep - it's pretty much motivated middle class buyers or higher... there are some "on the market" for less than that, but they're generally considered to be less useful for many American's lifestyles than folks in many other countries.
hopefully autonomy will come about sooner rather than later and owning your own private-use vehicle will become a MUCH less attractive option compared to a transportation-as-a-service model
The average price paid for a new car in 2021 was $47000. So sure, alot of people can’t afford, but alot can and just choose a gas car instead.
The amount we pay monthly for gas would be a nice car payment. A while ago after a car was paid for we kept putting the payments in the bank. Next vehicle was much easier to buy and so will be out tesla when it comes.
Not unusual for any new technology. The original Mac was $2495 in 1984. A midsize car was about $4000 back then. Like everything the price of a new technology falls over time as it become mainstream, and competition heats up.

My Model Y performance had an estimated delivery of 24 May - 9 June until two days ago. Then it went blank, this morning is shows 27 Aug - 8 Oct. pretty awful slap in the face 🤦♂️ hopefully Tesla can get their production constraints under control

Ordered my Model X on November 3, 2020. I’ve have a VIN assigned already (good sign). My estimated delivery window has been bumping daily starting with May 13-17th. Today it’s May 31-June 4. I’ve waited so long and don’t understand this last bit of delays.
Well, I ordered a new MX back in Dec'21 to replace my actual one (leasing ending in March '23) - I HOPE to get delivered by then ... and yes , I'm based in Europe. Many things can change for the better or worse, wohoo! ;)

They are telling my delivery date was actually vin delivery which I am flabbergasted by after waiting so long still

ECU delays should be quickly resolved as of now. I had a VIN on 4/25 and the car had been on the lot until 5/23, when I took delivery. No real contact between service center but all I was told they had 200-300 cars without the ECU. Forward a couple weeks and they have 60% delivered until my delivery date. Pretty bad communication on Tesla’s end. No one knew an exact estimate.
Hope you're right. I got my VIN 4/28, it arrived at delivery center 5/3, and I'm still waiting for the ECU.
@@rickpitterle8194 I think it’ll be anytime soon. At least for my service center in Dallas, they suddenly received shipment and started to deliver quick. I saw many centers on west coast had them first and it has been slowly trickling west. Good luck!
Well things at Tesla are certainly not perfect. I can only imagine the challenges the traditional auto makers are to face in attempt to go all electric ⚡️

How was the car charged to full without a charging unit?
You can always charge at a Supercharger, 3rd party charger, or install a wall charger installed in your garage. The charging unit no longer included with the car is the mobile charger that lets you plug charge into a standard 120-volt outlet, or with optional plug a NEMA 15-40 outlet. I have had one on with each of my EVs and never used any of them.
Last gas car would now cost 300€ per month just for fuel here in Europe. Our Model 3 std is only 120€ per month for electricity. So its a no brainer to buy an electric car.

I am expecting my new Tesla 3 RWD auto in September. I rely on Amazon's Echo (Alexa) in my smart home. Is it possible to add this software to my Tesla software? I know I can purchase an Echo for autos, but I don't want to do this. I want it integrated in my car's software.
I have been in the same scenario, My payments are been made on April 24th and the delivery keep on delaying due to the missing port issues, I’m currently actively making the payments with out receiving the car. I was been provided by the loaner by Tesla because of an issue from them.
The feature to have the windows close is redundant isn't it? My windows close automatically when I walk away and the doors lock. Unless he means he's lazy and doesn't want to flick a switch to close the windows when and if it rains while you're driving?
Last Monday my 3 was estimated May 24-June 7. Then this Monday they texted saying my appointment is set for June 25. Organized parking for June 1 last week, now paying for parking for at least 3.5 weeks I don't need...bunch of clowns as far as the delivery estimates go.

My question is when are they going to finally make the long range vehicles out of the 4680 which supposedly adds on 35%-50% more miles. 330 is not long enough idc if you live in the city or country. People will not see the benefit of changing to EV unless they can get the long range to 400+ miles. I love Tesla and want to get one especially Cyber truck but they definitely need more range if they want to keep being the EV leader in the future. I even believe Cyber Truck should be 700 to 800+ miles maybe not right away but definitely in the future. That is false they are not taking in that a lot of people in the US go over 300 miles a week because of going to work not only to say go shopping. You have to think since it is 100% battery powered using anything for convenience would dramatically lower the miles so asking for 400+ miles is not a wrong demand. You cannot compare LA driving or other big cities or highly populated states to the states with less population and who typically drive longer distances be it work ect.
I don’t think you understand how this works. If you have a mod Y LR you get 280 miles every morning. If you have a house and a normal 9-5 they have way more range than you need. On a trip it’s not a problem. You just need to plan a little extra time.
They add 50% more range so they can use 30% fewer batteries per vehicle.
AMEN Dave! Dead on. I think that E.M. Thinks he cam decide how many miles per charge. He has the “why carry the weight” excuse. Millions of people live in cities where they do NOT have access to “home overnight charge access”. Impossible to get charged every time turn around. So when they get to a charger, they demand massive mileage to reduce the constant rare hunt for busy charging stations.
Also, people like me when we travel, we need long mileage legs. At rural legal speeds of 75-80mph, a 320 mile Model 3 dips to under 240 miles. Plus there are less dense charging options out here. Even the long range model S will drop to under 305 miles at these speeds. IF there are no headwinds. Musk decided to kill the Plaid+ and long range+. Each would go over 500 miles at 50mph. So, running 75mph+ these would have dropped to a reasonable 390-420 mile range.
I have couple early ordered Cyber Trucks. E.M. Better deliver his first promise of up to 600 mile range at hyper mile speeds he uses. That would bring these down to 500 mile normal driving range, and likely 300+ miles towing (which is not optimal for towing).
I think due to E.M. fixation personality (Asperger.. which is good thing to knock down impossible walls) he now is fixated on reducing mileage range overall. And has dozens of excuses why. All the kool aid drinking fan boys will not dare enroll him he needs to get back to his initial intuition about affordable practical long range (at speed) vehicles.
I do understand how it works enough to put my logic on here. Yes most people who live in big cities ect can live off 280/279 SR model Y the long range is 330 but the long range is still on 2170 batteries and the standard on 4680. What I’m saying is with 4680 the models Y, 3, and S should hit 400+ and I mean like 430 miles. You also have to put in account that a fas vehicle doesn’t use the gas for your power, heating, or A/C the battery ones do. This means that electric vehicles need to be able to hit at least in the 400s right now. I live 30min away and drive a gas Subaru with 420 miles in a tank. Standard ranges idc the miles but long range needs to hit over 400 especially when Tesla makes enough 4680s to push it to 400+. Also the Cyber Truck needs at least 600 miles but honestly I would say 700-800 miles because when you do tow it will use a lot of the energy and bring it down almost half. Big picture is more miles are essential for EVs to work it just is. Gas can get away with lower miles because they have other things in use for different functions EVs do not. They need to at the end of the day exceed the miles range on EVs compared to Gas especially long range, cyber truck, and semi. I am a huge Tesla fan and want them to succeed but they need to pump the miles.

It is not like that there are a lot of things people rely on their vehicle for especially a truck there are people who have businesses that take them everywhere throughout the state and they need to reliability

Well Apple Music hi quality is limited by Bluetooth when transmitting to the car. So it’s lower quality in the car than apple actually provides. That’s what AirPlay would fix

Airplay uses a proprietary Apple protocol (via Wi-Fi) and it’s unlikely a Tesla will ever be able to support this

I believe airplay is way different then CarPlay. Which I hear the license is free to use. CarPlay can use Bluetooth
It’s more about opening a competitive company to “running” your software in the car. Apple would take over huge rates of music / maps

I find Tesla disingenuous and not customer focussed. With demand high …. They simply don’t care. I ordered in Melbourne au on 5 Dec 21 with an up to 8 week delivery. They have pushed that back five times, with local people contacts (as opposed to the app updates) providing no new information re delivery. Hopeless. Latest update says my delivery is between aug - oct! Arrogant and poor in their comms mgt
Just ordered a Model Y and it's slated for November to February. I don't want until around April because that's when my son will get my current car. Don't want to make payments until I need to and I'll have more time for a bigger down payment.
If you just ordered, it'll be at least June 2023 LOL. Unless you ordered Performance.

For that people with that sort of cash it is a rounding error. They likely make that much in a month or less.
We love Tesla but at what point do we call them out for their ridiculous business practices? Having a customer paying for a car that has been sitting a month is absolutely unacceptable.

Australia doesn't make any cars, we have to import them all. We drive on the wrong side of the road. We have different safety standards to both Europe and the US. Most electric cars are in the price range that gets an extra luxury car tax. We have no mileage rules. We have no government subsidies.
You guys are a bit bent when it comes to cars.
