I am in awe of the scallops you found with the myriad of colors! I can't believe how gorgeous and pristine they are! The whelks were beautiful, too! The scenery was excellent. Now I feel the need to shell up north.
What a beautiful beach! Colorful scallops, and those little stones that looked so polished from the ocean! Oh, and let's not forget that clear water!! Thank you so much for showing another great place to find shells!
What a beautiful, peaceful beach walk. The shells you chose to keep are gorgeous. Loved the serenity ...with the waves and choice of music. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! ❤I can’t express what your content means to me. The quality is top level, your angels within the cinematography are outstanding and I believe you’re the best shell vlogger currently on TH-cam. The colour palette of those shells were stunning and the music was incredibly relaxing. Thank you Brian, I appreciate you ❤️❤️
Wow..awesome treasures ! Beautiful finds, thanks again for sharing . Always look forward to your podcasts. Entire beach to yourself. Exceptional beauties today.
Hi Brian!! Well your vids just get better every time. That is one gorgeous pebbled beach. Add that to your calming voice, the music you choose , the landscape and those beautiful Bay Scallops, who needs therapy?? Cant wait for more adventure with you!!
Absolutely stunning ..those Skunk Scallops really made your collection pop..I’ve never seen one before. This might sound wacky but that big crab shell, after being cleaned up would’ve made a great salad bowl.! 🥗 Loved the cleaning tip at the end too…Thank you.🤗🌹
Aww thank you so much for coming along! It's always my goal to make these episodes more of an experience/journey that you can relax to as opposed to just POV shell collecting - I appreciate your feedback!
I grew up on Long Island and remember the channeled whelk egg casings on the beach. I never found such beautiful shells. I do remember the Long Island Sound beaches were rocky. You found some real beauties! I enjoyed this video thoroughly. Thanks!
🙋 Hello from Ga. Wow! Wow! Wow! Words can't express just how beautiful and stunning those shells are! 😳😯😁🥰 I make seashell chimes and those would make lovely chimes. Thank U so much for the adventure away from home for a few mins. Stay safe and can't hardly wait to see the next finds. God bless! 😊🥰
What wonderful scallops, in so many colors. If not for all the shells, I would have thought you were on a big lake. And so many pebbles too. Nothing at all like our sound here in Washington (Puget Sound). Great area. Thanks for the video.
I love the shells and seeing another beach that I haven’t experienced. Maybe I can wrangle someone to visit there with me some day. Pure gorgeousness and peace! 😊
Hi Brian! Awesome finds! Those whelks are beautiful, and the scallops, wow! Those orange ones rival any orange scallops I've found in Florida. I have some really pretty scallops I found when I lived in Delaware. Scallops found up north in colder waters have such amazing color combos! Thanks for sharing!!
Atlantic Bay Scallops(the ones featured in this episode), really do have quite a variety of color patterns - particularly in the Long Island Sound/Nantucket area. Thanks for watching!
I never tire of hearing the crunching of your footsteps on the the pebbles/shells as you search for that next big find...and after you cleaned your seashells at the end of the video, they did not even look real!...God puts so much detail in even the smallest of shells and places them just there for you to find and share with us! Thanx so much for taking the time to do these things for us who wait for each and every video you offer....and in 4K!
I grew up on the North Fork and there was a small beach on the Peconic Bay side , a block and a half from my childhood home ! ...miss that beach and the little Jingle shells . Some folks would sew them to net curtains and the summer breezes would make then gently chime...so lovely ! Thank you !
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! THANKS FOR SHARING THESE JEWELS OF THE SEA, BRIAN. THOSE SEA-TUMBLED PEBBLES ARE BEAUTIFUL, TOO, AND THE MUSIC WAS PERFECT WITH THE SERENE SETTING OF THE SOUND. 🥰🥰🥰🥰.
What a beautiful ending to my day. And did you bust your butt at the beginning ? 😂 The water, the shells, the stones all so wonderful. Just another day in paradise ❤❤ And did I mention the weather, the videography & soundtrack
I would love to walk with you. I’ve been watching your videos and find them entertaining and relaxing. I so love sea shelling, although I only can do when I visit Florida. Beautiful scalops! 🐚😎👍 new sub 🙌
My selfcontrol is not nearly as good as yours is. I would had needed a very large beach bag to carry all that I wanted. The shells are absolutely beautiful!
I love the beautiful scallops in the many colors. I have a weakness about the scallops. I skipped a breath when you would hold them up to the light. They are just perfect in the ridges and size. What state were you filming ? Thank you for another great video. 🌷🌿🐕
This was filmed at a few locations on the North Fork this past winter - Orient Point, Orient State Park, Truman's Beach, and Long Beach Bay. All places are accessible to the public. Thanks for watching!
Hi, is it true that collecting seashells even when the mollusk is not on the shell a bad thing? Some say is bad for the marine ecosystem in general, what are your thoughts on this?
This is a really great question. I am an impassioned shell collector, so I might be a little biased in answering, but essentially removing any native/organic item from an ecosystem has the potential to cause some harm/damage to that ecosystem. With that said, I am a proponent of ethical shell collecting, which can be defined as a sustainable way to observe and collect shells in a way that doesn't harm the environment or the ocean. For example, collecting only few shells you like, then leaving the rest back to nature, or bringing some shells from your collection back to the ocean. There isn't a one size fits all answer here but I also think it's important to understand that there are some areas and ecosystems that may be more prone to damage from general human impacts like excessive foot traffic, over collection, over harvesting, etc. than other areas are. Essentially, I think education is the single best tool you can have in your toolbox to fully understand how humans interact with global ecosystems, including mollusks and mollusk environments - it's critical to read, research and pursue an informed perspective. I always try my best to do this, and share valuable information on this channel when I can! Thanks so much for watching, and asking a awesome question! 💙
Great question! I started included these types of shots early on in my content, and I just sorta liked how they fit with everything... though I do think sometimes it tends to create a melancholy vibe - I am ok with it! I generally attempt to create an experience where the viewer can feel like they are at these locations themselves, without being distracted by talking and narrating etc. While most of my shelling adventures are indeed solo adventures, I often feature close friends and family in them as well. 😃 Thanks for watching!

Northern Atlantic Bay Scallops can be quite colorful, in a variety of patterns and hues.
Thanks for watching!

You have found some beautiful bi-vales. Those littles rocks are as pretty as jelly beans. I would be collecting both.
The stones here so resemble jelly beans, and I never noticed that before!
Thanks for watching!
What Stunning shells and beach walk !! I would have great difficulty leaving any orange scallop behind !! Craft and gift ideas Swirling in my mind !!
Yep, they are all beautiful, but the oranges, and in particular orange reds are my favorite!
Thanks for watching!
This is one of my favourite videos that you've made. The location is so incredible and your finds are beautiful. Thank you for posting it.
Sometimes I get stuck while editing these, and ask myself... can I make this any better?
I truly appreciate your feedback.

Such lovely large scallops shells ..... Wish I could find them that easy.
These empty scallop shells are usually quite plentiful in Peconic Bay, NY(where much of this was filmed)

Hi friend! At this time, I don't sell anything from my collection, but perhaps some day!

Love the scallops!!! Esp the “skunk” ones! Was this a recent adventure?
Skunk Bay Scallops are also some of my favorites to find! This was filmed in January of this past winter :)
Thanks so much for watching!
Are all of those gorgeous scallops bay scallops?
Yep! All of the scallops in this episode are Atlantic Bay Scallops.
Thanks for watching!
Amazing shelling!! Where is this beach???
Is it easily accessible?
This was filmed at a few locations on the North Fork this past winter - Orient Point, Orient State Park, Truman's Beach, and Long Beach Bay. All places are accessible to the public.
Thanks for watching!
I'm in Long Island and wondering if you can tell me exactly where this beach is in Northfork, I would love to go.
Hi, this was actually filmed at a few different places; Truman's Beach, Orient Point SP, Long Beach Bay, and Orient County Park.
Thanks for watching!

What is the water called between the main land and Long Island. Is it a sound or a bay or something else?

This area(between Connecticut and Long Island), is indeed Long Island Sound 💙
