Quentin Wilson and Robert Llewelyn are pushing EVs on that crappy channel because it’s the only work they can get. Their careers washed up years ago
Genuinely thought he was talking about Matt Smith, which I thought a little odd, as he’s as much petrolhead as he is EV promoter. As proved by his barn find series, and sleeper Allegro. How stupid am I?🤣
Never listened to Q tips even back in the day, too condescending even back then.
Quentin was right into his classic cars, don't understand why he is so keen on EVs.
@@iainmorrison9365He moved with the money I guess.
When you drive a good fast EV, you'll understand it all. I've had many Jaguars and 2 Rolls Royce's. They are all left behind in their exhaust fumes.@@iainmorrison9365
I always thought that Qwentin Wilson was a bit creepy
There will never be enough electricity to power all these EV's its that simple.
You're not on a lone crusade....there's billions of us out there around the world that disagree with Morag!...
wish people would see the true cost rather than listen to EV fan boys and girls
@@STEWARTMDEAKINthe whole climate change agenda is going to break us financially. But, hey maybe it's the point.
Lee is not a crusade. He loves his EV really. Talks bad about Telsa owners but he’s even worse. Why? Because nobody buys a £120k Tesla on finance. Apparently he’s even hooked up with Morag.
Billions 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Morage has an MG that stands for Mobile Grenade!
it does not matter what the costs are or any silly arguements over this and that , the main point is we should have a choice not be forced and that is what needs to be stopped , it does not matter what you drive that should be your individual choice , basically freedom without interference from any government or corporation
If they force us to drive EVs. I’ll stop working and paying taxes.
I think the reason you get alot of anger is the evangelists are trying to justify their financial mistakes they have made
Thanks for making a stand. Mr McMaster. You are a hero...
CHEERS from AUSTRALIA
Youre doing a great job Lee, it IS working and you have tons of supporters ❤
Lol Quentin Wilson, the king of smarm 😂 and yes Daniel ( black belt barrister) is excellent 👍
The reason people become evangelists is because nobody likes to admit publicly that they've made a huge mistake.
Looking 👀 at you Morag!!!
Same with the vax
we all need to make our own choices,we should be free people ,
Great video again, I hope enough people start to wake up. Just the thought of having to wait and wait for charge is insane, I hope the battery on my mobile doesn't ru
For something as life changing as this we should have a referendum, that's true democracy.
I'm picking up my new 3.0,L diesel this Friday. There is no electric car for me.
CO2 is used in green houses to stimulate plant growth, its plant food not pollution.
Hate electric cars! They look terrible, they are expensive and they have no soul! Keep up the good work Lee😊
This BBC car man said EVs are cheaper to run? What about the horrendous investment cost and huge depreciation doesn’t that count?
Not if you buy a second hand one. Most new cars are bought on leases where the depreciation doesn't matter as long as the buyer is happy with the lease payments.
Been working on a job in Derby where there's spaces for evs and you can charge for free stickers on the site hoarding showing the company's green policy, and next to them 2 very large diesel generators powering the charge points and office running 24 hrs a day 😀
Still using a 2002 ford fiesta, had my moneys worth but intend to keep it as long as I can
I like the smell of petrol when I am filling the car up & never get wet on rainy days under the canopy and its a splash and dash 👌. The oil and oil filter change on my service is so therapeutic when I do it and watching that used oil flow out of the sump is so rewarding. 🤣 your not alone pal 💯
Sending lots of support ❤️🙏
I feel Lee is having some regrets about being an EV early adopter. 🤣🤣
I wouldn't buy a second hand car from the unmentioned person from the 80`s car show.
Now, without further ado, lets... sit drinking expensive coffee for half an hour waiting for the milk float to charge.
That you dont need to do all bullsht
I live in The Bahamas my friend here had a house powered by solar, they fully charged the batteries and the switch that turns them off from continue charging when they were fully charged did not go off. The Batteries overheated and burnt down the entire house! Lithium batteries when they over heat and catch fire are almost impossible to put out.
Lee, the last thing I want to do when I'm retired is waste the rest of my life is charging up an EV. its a joke and everybody knows it.
I have a diesel C5 Aircross. 580 miles a tank of diesel. EV Madness . Plus I live in a terraced house in Old Trafford .If I try and put a cable across a public footpath to charge a EV I would get my windows bricked. And how do people in apartments charge? EV nutjobs.
EV is a car with disadvantages.
Special needs.
Now Tesla Reputedly just "decimated" their SuperCharger roll out team... - 9x Decimated apparently...(01/05/2024 - Happy Mayday for EV owners..)...
Nice and interesting video Lee, i have always said why can't we eventually use Synthetic fuel ? Then i got to thinking, the developers will make sure they charge us a arm and leg for us average person to fill up.. Just as we are paying top dollar for fuel here in Australia, and around the world now ☹ Au
Love it lee keep the EV videos coming let’s get the message out there 👍🏻❤️
People who want EVs should have them But people who want Petrol or Diesel should be able to have them too .What 's happened to freedom of choice???????
Vegans don't want you to have meet, evangelists don't want you to have a real car
Whose freedom are we talking about? As a kid I remember when everyone had coal fires and there was a huge death toll from respiratory illness. I don't remember smokeless zones being voluntary.
It's not much of a free country anymore
52:21 is that a diesel generator in that big Ionity box?
Had the pleasure of having a few drinks with Stephen walk on the wildside yesterday.. you and him are top down to earth blokes who value their followers. take care 🙏
Great video. I drive a petrol mild hybrid and am perfectly happy with it. I do not want an elelctric car EVER.
Wait till the tax starts kicking in.
EV’s suck and are not the future!!!
Great video as always lee.👍
Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes. Fire up the quatro.
That ex-Top Gear presenter is an ex for a reason. My time is more valuable than waiting around for an EV to charge. I will never change from petrol and i think the 2035 target will slip as it's unrealistic and EVs are not the future of motoring. 😔
Looks like a lefty loser…🤪
My time is too valuable to be spent hanging around petrol stations, having the car serviced or working to pay for petrol.
Wake up every morning with 370m range (£7.50 for a full charge) is the way to go.
He should've bought a Tesla.
Q made his fortune from Petrol he’s nowt but a blatant hypocrite, only my opinion
ORLY? You're absolutely sure your masters aren't fully committed to imposing a fully EV vehicle fleet? You think they are truly concerned about realism and convenience and effectiveness? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's hilarious.
Well done Lee keep on warning people Evs are as much use as a paper bag in wet weather. I wont ever buy an electric car and keep my 2004 Rover 75 going so i can pull my caravan to Spain and back.Regards Keith x
Everything you say is 💯 . You are not alone,we should all have a choice.I have had to purchase a new petrol car earlier than I would normally do as I simply won't be able to buy one anymore,of the model I wish to drive.😮For goodness sake!..My hard earned money and I will not be free to spend it on the car I wish to drive 😵💫🤬.Keep up the good work with your excellent videos, you are representing the millions who will not buy one for all the reasons you have said.👍
Lee. I'm glad you do these things so that the rest of us don't have to. I'm a service engineer, On average I travel about 1600 miles per week Monday to Friday. I don't have the time or appetite.
EV'S are too motoring, 😤 what Starbucks is too coffee. 😝
100% agree. Well said. 👍
The fundamental difference between you Lee and QW is that your EV is self financed, while as a motoring journalist, his cars are given to him FOC.
You can always watch TH-cam videos while you are wasting your life, the MacMaster is worth watching.
Tesla has been laying off people all over in the past few weeks. Recently, Tesla just laid off the whole supercharger division, including the director of the supercharger network of 18 years. To me, this seems to be a signal that Tesla either isn't willing to support the vehicles he has already produced but future vehicles as well. When Teslas first arrived in California, I was seriously thinking of purchasing one. After months of reading and research, I am now glad I didn't... The amount of issues with batteries, as well as so many other issues that are not covered by any warranty or very limited warranty coverage, just made my mind up not to purchase an EV. Additionally, according to Tesla, any and all super charging stations have been put on indefinite hold. Many of the new supercharger were scheduled to be installed in the New York area. At this moment, the whole division has been eliminated, and no superchargering networks will be finished for the indefinite future... Is this the best time to buy a Tesla? Personally, I would say stay away...
All very well for that presenter to say charge at home.
My street is a row of tenaments with approx 115 residents.
The parking is on street only with approx 50 spaces.
Surrounding streets are the same set up and it's is extremely difficult to park outside your home.
How the hell are we supposed to charge at home?
Before anyone says the nearest charge station is 0.5 miles away and only has 8 charge points.
I like the way the e-bike cost more than all the cars I’ve bought in the last 12 years! And the were reliable, diesel and didn’t spontaneously combust!
You are not crazy. You are 100% correct.
Shared. NO to ev. Just think the price of electric when the government need taxes with no ice cars. And the whole household electric will have to pay for it because they are charging at home.
Power to the motorcar with sole.
No need for that whatsoever. More likely is smart chargers reporting kWh used for charging, that's one option or even more likely would be road pricing. No need to couple household electricity to EV costs though.
For EV's to replace ICE vehicles the grid and local electrical infrastructure will probably not be ready in 11 years(2035).
Gaz Yorkshire.
Sorry about Morag, sounds like she hasn't got an EV, or maybe she is an EV and knows she is about to to be extinguished, or maybe she needs a charge and can't find a working charger.
Thank you so much for everything ❤️🙏
Keep going Lee and Geoff👍. You know the strategy is working when we go from fully charged to fully triggered😂
I remember Clarkson calling him Count Quentula.😂
A Daily Mail Writer Quentin Letts who tried to take down Tommy Robinson, is even dafter,
Change it up Lee màke up some corned beef sandwiches no crust, fill a thermos Yorkshire tea. Sit peacefully in your EV while charging humming away, pondering on the explosion.
Fully agree. I am on your journey. Keep up the good work!
He'd be watching trying to get some pointers to help his show, he is scared because you're show is a million times better Lee , you have a way better personality and way better looking, cheers mate.
Here’s one for you Lee. Handing over my mums mild Japanese hybrid back to the dealer soon. It’s failed to start on numerous occasions leaving her stranded and really quite distressed. After talking to a well recognised rescue service technician and I quote, it’s not fit for purpose mate and because your mum doesn’t do enough miles it’s not charging your 12v start battery!
Very common problem apparently.
Total bollix
Got a friend who has an ev company car. They have been told to charge them in there own time if they charge them on a shift they are being docked an hourly rate cause it’s costing them thousands in lost working hours you couldn’t make it up
You have proved this many times ….keep up the excellent work …..
"my time's important y'know" he says immediately after having set up and shot 7 different angles of him taking his coffee from the shop to his car 🤣🤣🤣
My time is important.
Too important to sit through nearly two hours of turgid mediocrity.🥱
Fast forward is a great tool.😂
Signed
Not Morag 🥰
It’s filling in the time while waiting for car to charge, simples
Pretty much a well known that car magazine journalist and presenters are sponsored otherwise their magazine would disappear overnight,in other words they are corrupt.
The Wife and I recently returned from a long weekend in the Cotswolds. We live in London and I too my 2007 Mercedes CLS 320CDI on the trip as it was unlikely I would be able to take the top off my SL given the weather. I filled up with diesel before the trip and used just over a quarter of the tank covering more than 250 miles so theoretically I have a range of more than 700 miles. I drove like a vicar staying within the speed limits to see how high I could get the mileage indicator and I got 43 mpg on the way out after a massive jam on the M25 and 45 mpg on the return! I will never drive an EV or sell my CLS even though its not ULEZ compliant!
Charge the car overnight? No thanks, I won't even have my washer on during the night.
Many a house fire has originated with Dishwasher fires !!... I switch everything off and I pull breakers having seen numerous electrical origination fires; including fatal ones. Precautionary principle always inevitably and invariably trumps hindsight in my book.
Just read the comments saying it was Quentin Wilson, who made the comment about lee. If this is true I am very disappointed in Quentin Wilson, as use to take what he says as gospel. But he doesn’t live in the real world. Being a construction worker ev isn’t the way forward you lose to much time charging and when you work miles away that’s not good as being on price work. Half the day is gone and you spend more time worrying about if you have enough charge. Petrol or diesel for me.
Correct. Real world comment.
*Goes where the £$ Money Is !*
Your point about mis sold diesels Lee: VW were fined billions for false emissions claims, I wonder if EV manufacturers will be heavily fined for false range claims?
Tesla have been fined.
@@jeffhopkins5704 really? I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the info.
Mr Mac, regarding your driver friend. Oxford City Council have the same policy which is forcing cabbies to buy a £70 grand electric cab, but with a real life battery working range of 50-60 miles, the cab will be running on a petrol engine for most of its shift. P.S. for your road trip, Oxford Services on the M40 have a massive row of Tesla chargers, all of which are always empty every time that I've been there.
You’re not on your own, Lee. Keep up the good work 👍
It is why electric costs are high because they have to get more electric to charge cars and houses and factory factory as well
Lee you need to do an interview with Richard from challenge the road as he to has a Taycan and is also finding it a struggle to live with.
Im reading a thumb nail on youtube as Im watching you and it reads GM dealers prefer to quit rather than sell EV,s from chase car
Best thing you said today, leave the people alone, if you want an EV good for you, if you want petrol great.
Keep it up Lee grate
I said many times Pipes was Morag and every time I called Pipes out, a few moments later Morag appeared in the comment thread deigning it. It's like she knew.
Yes when diesels vehicles were once good for the environment, it was a lot cheaper than petroleum fuel because diesel is far cheaper to produce, due to it's not refined as much as petroleum. So to increase the cost of diesel they slapped a tax on it, thus making it far more expensive and because nearly all goods are delivered in diesel lorries, everything goes up in price. Follow the money!
You'll need to show me where you "called me out", I don't recall it.
Name the vlogs and thread position .......if you can.🤔
Signed
Not Morag.🥰
It has to be Quentin Wilson he was boring and he does like EV's he is still boring now, what a sad man.
Absolutely correct. They need to come up with mobile charging so no connection needed from home as long as earlier charged. Its SIMPLES. So stupid this has not been developed
You are not on your own Lee, I for one will never buy or own an electric car. Carry on the good work and trying to educate the masses.
i live in a terrace no parking . no drive way . so what do i do ??? any ideas
Don't buy an EV, or if you really have to, buy a hybrid
Very, very, very long cable!
Buy a real car
When they introduce 15 min cities, charging at home will be OK because you won't be leaving your zone because your digital currency will be worth less outside your zone....wake the flock up peeps....
Better stay in your safe space, cupcake 🤣
Yes EVs have their place. Small city run abouts. Most need to drive 85k before they offset their production Co2 and by that time their batteries will be degrading, awful disposable tech.
You and Geoff are both right what you say about EV batteries and what you say about electric vehicles No good but about another person who is getting help from another company and when you fill up your car why do take long time get go.and when you fill up your vehicle with gas it is very easy 😮😮
Just bought a new Merc diesel. They cannot give EVs away . Merc EVs account for only 8% sales world wide . They are pulling back on making them . Toyota are stopping EVs it’s over
My excelent Ford Focus cost me less over three years than a home charger set up"
keep up the good fight Lee
Morag has to be a paid EV troll, think about it, what does she supposedly drive......hint M(ora)G.
Shrewd observation.
If I was an EV extremist I wouldn't be wanting to force EV on anyone as id be sat smug in my own choice while not trying to promote others onto the poor network, also id be happy wity constructive criticism to help make the cars better, but they defend them to the death like they are trying to justify it to themselves 😉 Oh and skelton lakes is nice as services go, we sometimes pop over for chopstix noodle bar.
John Codogan has just put out 2 Great EV videos and a funny one on tesla.
should have bought an engine PORCHE soft top
Weak minds, when cornered with truth and logic, fall back to personal attacks as they are mentally incapable of logical thought.
It's hilarious, while he was being interviewed, QW said his car was on an Instavolt charger and he had the audacity to tells petrol and diesel is more expensive.
I drove to The Star Cars museum in Keswick. I used my Sierra estate and drove from Grays in Essex. I went with my friend just to see the Mad Max 2 The road Warrior Interceptor. My Sierra used 5 litres of engine oil there and back, 600 plus round trip.
Why would you want to visit either Bradford or Barrow?
On the fly comment. I am still watching. Question.
If you took £10 worth of fuel, £5 in credit, and went to another charger would it take £10 or £15 next time?
why does it take a bit of time for the charge to start once you've plugged in?
Well, think about it this way. You really don't want to be connecting a live plug into something that draws a significant current. You could get quite a shock if it was designed this way when your fingers got in the wrong place. As designed, the charge plug and cable are not energized when unplugged. When you connect the plug into the vehicle the car will electronically hand shake with the charging station.
A Handshake is required in order to allow both the car and the charger to send protocols to each other. During a handshake, the two devices make sure that they know certain connection requirements of each other.
Once the handshake is made, the relay in the charging station will open, allowing electrons to flow to the car.
Well done on pronouncing the Cumbrian town I grew up in correctly.
I have a Skoda EV, or at least my wife does, we only ever charge it at home, wouldn't even dream of taking it on a longer journey, use my diesel Audi for that.
That works out great, it would do for me too.
The only downside is what life does your EV have? 10 years? 15 years?
As long as you’re willing to accept a total loss after that period it’s fine.
The downside then is the disposal and recycling of your used EV. (Battery)
When I got my Ioniq EV there were loads of free EV chargers at supermarkets and retail parks. Not any more. And the cost of charging is so much more than it used to be. I went to use a charger using my debit card and they tried to take out £29.99 up front. Not necessary and has driven me to swap my company car for a Toyota Corolla self charging hybrid.
Once again getting from point A to point B is my objective of driving my car. Sitting around waiting for it to charge is not doable. The idea is good but needs more research. I am retired and on borrowed time don't want to spend my "golden years" waiting for my car to charge.
Quinton Wilson and Morag save on their EV charging costs, by taking a flask, and their pack-up containing their triangular brains, egos and senses of humour, while laughing and thumbing their toffy noses at all us prehistoric working class ICE car drivers! 🤣😂 Their triangular umbrellas also protect them from the elements when they plug their precious EVs into the chargers too!
