- DO NOT BUY an ELECTRIC CAR! DRIVING my EV (Bowness to Worcester) PROOF they are NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!
I own an Electric Car, I have a Porsche Taycan EV and on my journey from Bowness on Windermere to Worcester you will see the problems and issues that I encounter, not to mention the time wasted waiting for the Electric Vehicle to charge on the EV Charging Infrastructure. You will also see one of the BIGGEST ISSUES of owning an Electric Car as it happened to me on camera!!

Owning a car (EV or ICE) is the last thing we need to worry about, cos if the WHO get their way with the treaty, then THEY WILL decide how far you can drive anyway, as well as how many cows your allowed, wether or not you are allowed to eat meat, what vaccines you will be required to have to be able to take part in society and what source of energy you are allowed to use. Amongst other things & one of them is the abolishment of your Human Rights.
@devonsteve, RESIST - REBEL - REFUSE !! 🤔 👍🏻
Well said you hot the nail on the head.
Don't forget the chicken 'license ' (for bird flu , that didn't EXIST pre 1996) if you own *1* chicken or more , NOW !
I've got a 2010 Honda Accord GT Tourer petrol, does 600 miles per tank on the motorway. Done 110k miles. Has cost me nothing except wear and tear. Fantastic machine!
Thanks Lee, as Tony would say about EV's, "Future My Arse"!
Save the world, drive an old car.
Imagine going into a pub and paying full price for a pint, but being told you can only drink 60% of it. And thinking that is the future. 🤣
Good point
Exactly! in essence you can only charge the car 60% of it's capacity, wait ten more years EV's will be obsolete it just doesn't work.
It would certainly explain the behaviour of Tesla owners. They can only use 60% of their brains, which are tiny enough as it is.
@@iguanna41you give them a shelf life of ten years-I would be hard pushed to give them 5 years
Imagine going into a pub and not being able to drink anything because climate effects have corrupted all the drinking water sources. So they cannot brew or distill any alcoholic beverages.
Quinton Wilson has made you famous 😂😂😂
Quinton is part of motoring history. It’s yesterday. Forget him.
Tammy Wynette was way ahead of her time when she sang the song 'No Charge'.
Loved TW song “Stand By Your Man”
Didn't the Ex-TG presenter who now advocates the EV car so much, got done for clocking cars back in the day? Someone to trust surely?
Look at second hand EV van prices! They’re worth nothing after a year or less and are useless
Doesn't make sense. You can't live like this. Worrying if the charge works. The old fashioned way of using fuel, having a quick cup of tea stretching your legs in the car park and cracking on with life. Who has time for this craziness.
Won't work in Australia
It could if carry or tow a diesel generator 😁.
They will work as a town car if you can charge at home, but you don't need a three ton rolling incinerator for that. The only country that has the power generation and infrastructure to go fully electric for light transport is Finland, and that's only because they started building hydro plants seventy years ago. When they stop selling electricity to the rest of Europe because they need it for transport, there's going to be all sorts of trouble.
I'm fed up of comments from people ridiculing EVs.They don't know what they are talking about.
Personally, I drive two top of the range EVs, a Jaguar and a Porsche. Their acceleration and handling is fantastic. They look brilliant and they are cheap to run. They need hardly any maintenance and haven't depreciated since I bought them.
Literally the only criticism I could make of them is sometimes, if I really push them into a corner, they can fly off the track and get stuck under the sofa...
We're all pretty fed up of being insulted by EVangelists too Paul. How about you stick to the Fully Charged Show, and we'll stick with the Macmaster. Everyone's happy then.
@@matthewgodwin3050 😂 you didn’t read my full comment did you.
@@paulweir7467 Sorry, missed the bit at the end. I've had an overdose of Morag this evening, so I'm a little sensitive.
Lightweight! A real electric car would ignite your sofa after you’ve dozed off!
If you are that confident tell us what Jaguar and Porsche you have and what you paid and how old they are so we can check how much they have depreciated.
I just can't imagine going out in my 2ltr diesel and worrying about range it's mental
EV’s SUCK’! Keep up the good work Lee. My boss is thinking about getting me a MG EV as my company car! I’m having sleepless nights!!!
Long journey Lands End to John o is 840 miles. That barely gets you out of one state in the US
I'm glad Lee is standing up for what he believes in, great video 👍
And so should we Sarah ❤
28:00 Trying to get charge point to recognise payment: This alone is reason enough NOT to buy an EV. The hassle one gets from these crappy charge points is unbelievable. I've seen it so many times now.
Problem is public charges are completely unregulated they can charge whatever they want...
Oh, by the way. Mr Musk just fired his entire "Super Charger" team. Top to bottom! Where is that going? Fiskar, all but gone!
Is he preparing his way out? It looks like charging stations are totally unprofitable!
Dos he want to get taxpayers' money instead to operate them?
Is this part of draining the sw Amp?
Must be costing a fortune charging an electric car whilst away from home by the amount of coffee etc being bought.
That's exactly what
I commented about months ago. When you go to a petrol garage, your away within 10 minutes
charging up.
You spend an extra £3 for your coffee while you wait , it all adds up 🤔 That's over £1000 a year. Spent just on coffee while you wait for your car.
Getting charged up.🏴 .
Noticed you run everywhere with just you in the car. How would it affect the range if you simulated a family journey with additional luggage?
That's That's brilliant idea
Isn't that why the mileage is terrible, it comes with the family plus luggage burden already built in...
- On the trip to France, Geoff and Lee must take exactly the same luggage + live loads - that'll be interesting..
@@kadmow Excellent idea. They could each take an aunty , whose partial to Mr Kippling in a big way , say 20 stone , 1 kid , the Mrs and ALL their luggage . Aircon or heating on for aunty of course .
I'd rather have a proper car, and pay for my own biscuits.
Cumbria is such a beautiful place.
Buy a Porche for £120k, lose £80k in under three years, but you get free buscuits and a cup of coffee, nice one !!!
Why can't the charger send you a notification to your phone that it's not charging.
You can tell whether it’s charging or not from the app that comes with your car.
Sorry, I just bought a Tesla 3.
Nice green color, an amazing car.
Only problem with that is, as far as i know, they didn’t offer it in green which means it was probably in an accident
@@noonehere1793 Yo Noone, we gotta go green, we gotta save tha planet.
One thing that has always surprised me especially with the good publicity and praise for the porsche dealerships you deal with is they have never approached you with a potential sponsorship deal or any other petrol/diesel car dealership, little bit of livery on the car such n such dealer sponsers the Macmaster.
EVs are not a good solution for the vast majority of drivers in the real world.
Interest in EVs is dropping month by month. Before long, it will reach net zero....
Quinten and Smeghead will be in tears....😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yes, everyone I know with an EV has moved on already. My new neighbors have two, but they don't get out much and they borrow a Toyota pickup every time they need to cart something around besides their bottoms.
If the imbecilic Wilson actually knew anything about carbon reduction he’d realise that it’s the end of all plant life if they reach their mythical net0
Do you really believe that, where did you get that information?
@@CiderGuyerr. No. Net zero means "no more CO2 added each year" not "get rid of CO2 from the atmosphere" 😂😂😂
There will come a time when EVs will be banned from Cross Channel Ferries or the Eurostar, because of the chance of an EV catching fire on the Eurostar midway under the English Channel.
Because there have already been EV fires there? Nope.
ICE fueled cars are not banned because there have been no ICE fires there?
Wait a moment, yes there have, serious ones!
Yet still not banned?
🤔
BYD supply is interesting. Our local (NWest) MB dealer used to be a factory dealership, but then was sold a few years ago to LSH Auto - a Chinese owned company.
Guess who now sells BYD? Yep, you're right!
Great video Lee and some great scenic roads in the lakes and nice to see a smidge of sunshine.
Welcome to the wonders of our world Lee, in my home town of Worcester. The home with plenty of charging points, which no one has or wants. Please take some and distribute on your journeys around the uk, you might get some of those evangelists off your back (when not working 😊) so they can charge there cars even if it’s cost £0.75 kw.
This helps us petrolheads including jeff get around Worcester quicker, not having to wait for even more EV owners or traffic looking for charging in our city. as Jeff said 3 petrol stations on his way home. 😝
Always take a good shit while waiting for your charge 😂😂😂😂
If EVs were that good they wouldn’t need to try to force them on us. I really think the bubble has burst personally, they’re done, people are finally waking up. 👍Gread vid, as always. 👍
Lovely couple with the Toyota. If only all of us agreed to differ with such friendliness.
Great u two hav finally re united for a video, love ur banta together 😎
Wait until the bank holiday range anxiety and fighting at the chargers
Crikey Lee. Being asked to choose between Bourbon Biscuits and Custard Creams is like being asked to choose which of your two children you like the best.
One thing that strikes me,as it would from my career dealing with the public., is a lot of people who may have been be influenced by you are sceptical. They may well say "if these EVs are that bad, why have you got one and so the disbelief sets in. Have you ever had and/or have answered this point? I've seen most of your vids and you haven't.
I heard that interview on the radio with that Quinton bloke and just knew he was talking about you 😂😂😂 he still thinks it’s cheaper to buy an ev he’s the nut job if he thinks charging between 70-85 pence per kWh is cheap
quentinnnnnn saying 85p kwn is cheap is like richass sunak telling the public he knows what its like to have nothing and struggle. Its amazing when your ignorent rich open their mouths and out gushes poo
I'm surprised you didn't ask the couple with the Toyota what the mileage allowance was on their three year lease. I'm seeing 5000m per year for most EV lease cars.
Great point. That’s ridiculous
Yes EVs are great as a second car for city type use if you have home charging but the availability of small cheap EVs in the UK is pitiful.
You avd Steve from walk on the wildside are two amazing people. Thank you for everything. You both always have my full support 🙏❤️
Well I have owned my car for 15 years from new, that means had I leased it and changed it every 3 years I would have had 4 more cars, so which is more environmentally friendly, owning a car for a longer period of time or changing it every three years? A rhetorical question in my opinion! REMEMBER YOU WILL OWN NOTHING BUT YOU WILL BE HAPPY! Also my car is bought and paid for, it has been for years now whereas if I changed every 3 years I would shelling out hundreds of pounds every month for fifteen years it’s a no brainer for me as a pensioner. So if you drive an EV because you think you’re saving the planet, think again but if you own one because you like them then that’s a good enough reason, happy motoring.
All these Ev car manufacturers lies would make pinocchio blush
Mainly companies leasing EV's, not private buyers buying them.
Nice shots of Bowness Lee. Bowness and Windermere area: beautiful scenery, crap road surfaces. I used to motorcycle around there and it was genuinely dangerous. On a bike the big problem is the gravel in potholes which is what’s left behind after the road has disintegrated. Nothing to do with EVs but I just wanted to have a quick rant.
I am a petrol head.
Not a plug head.
Totally with you mate.👍
Number of times I had a problem with a functioning petrol pump = 0
Having watched dozen of these, i think the advice is............. do not buy am EV.
Your camera makes fantastic looking images of the landscape. Thanks for taking us along.
It’s quite funny how many times I see a car doing 50mph on the Motorway, I wonder what the hell they’re doing when everyone else is doing 70mph, and as I pass them I notice the little green tab on the number plate then you realise they can’t drive at normal speeds because it’ll drain their battery faster and they have to hyper-mile in order to get anywhere near the manufacturer figures 🤣
Meanwhile doing the 130kph speed limit in France and Italy...
What was it you were saying again?
Just a thought Lee if you scrap an ev do ordinary scrap yards have to take them or do the need to be a specialist recycling centre. Even a dead lithium battery can be dangerous.
That's a thought.🤔🏴
Please keep up the good work Lee. Thank you.
China quite literally controls the global EV battery market / supply chain by owning 90% of the world Cobalt and Lithium mines. (Plus rare earths and other minerals) Plus the production of graphite - The single largest component of EV batteries. Graphite companies in the country process both the natural material mined domestically and overseas, as well as in synthetic forms. To process all these minerals in China takes massive resources and energy, and guess where all that energy comes from? Coal !! How "green" is that? Yet we're being lied to and bombarded each and every single day by authorities telling us that EV's are the future because they're zero emissions!! And what's worse, is we actually believe the hype and the narrative. It's an international disgrace.
So on every single level of this "green vehicle revolution" there is going to be only one real winner. So, IF the world does transition to the green EV utopia we're led to believe will exist - Then simply, it will be China who will dominate the worlds global car market. It doesn't matter which brand of car you buy, drive or hire, it will have a "Blood Battery" at it's heart with a "made in China" label proudly on display. China will therefore have enormous leverage over not just car companies, but on all our governments as well. People, please do some research, please open your eyes to what's going on????
As you keep pointing out Lee, "it's all about control" on several fronts !!
I can imagine lee running out of his car, plonking his camera on the ground, running back to his car then shutting and opening the door lol
One man production studio. Gotta admit, it does flow well when all nicely edited. Most youtubers just couldn't be bothered...
Good job Lee, if you read this. 👍🏻
Why can't you use a debit card to pay and get a receipt out of the machine like in a petrol station.
Doesn’t seem like EVs are the vehicles of the future.
Its the dealers that are registering the EVs, to boost the statistics of EV ownership
Many of those charge points without cables are for Swarco membership users, and are only 7kW/h, maybe 11, where you get an RFID card to charge for regular use. Then you pay monthly/get billed via DD, and are intended for long stay use. We used to drive from Southend to Worcester and use St. Martins car park in town, before these chargers were built, then our daughter left the uni, so don't need the card anymore 😊
So if you can only charge between 20 and 80 percent does that mean that you can only use 60 percent of the range ?
Effectively yes because of battery health reasons. Even with all the battery rationing for dead cells in time or something the optimum point is still the middle 60%
No it doesn't. When you are going to set off on a long journey charge it to 100% and drain it down all the way if that's what you want to do. But for day to day commuting, e.g. less than 150 miles per trip more or less depending on your car, keep it between 20-80%.
If you are driving very long journeys very frequently, e.g. every day, then maybe an EV isn't the best option for you.
@@Karthig1987 as i said to lee when talking off camera we always try to charge at home and always to 100%only a lease car so not concerned about battery life (going for a hyundai ionic 5n next good range,😜 but not at the top speed of 160mph
Bourbon or custard cream biscuits can’t decide love both
I think the nice couple who drive the Toyota were spot on, 95% of the time they charge from home @ 7.5p / Kwh ~5p / mile compared to a petrol Porsche which costs 30p+ / mile, but 0-70mph performance is the same!!!
Hi we always try to charge at home as I told lee off camera bloody expensive to charge when your out ,it cost 10times as much as as home .they are not for every one but it suits us👍
@@philrostron2168 So glad your in a Toyota, can I ask the cost of the home charger, thanks.

You're intro is seriously impressive and that stunning view captured using a phone ?

170 miles @ 45 gbp equals approx 30 mpg in a ICE which on a run is terrible economy
How lovely those opening scenes are!
This is brilliant stuff, Lee. Looking forward to you and Jeff on this European journey and the EV and ICE comparison.😊
EV's what a complete waste of time and money, absolute sh-te
Wow thosé scenes looked like Paintings
enjoyed you're vlog Lee bourbon biscuit nice to see Jeff👍
its the time wasting factor that gets me. With non EV you get to a Petrol Station and you are out of there in 15 minutes. EV Porn your word
Temu EVs are great 👍
I have "range" anxiety with my phone during the day, I'd be a nervous wreck if I had an EV.
Well done Lee love the blog would never buy an EV keep spreading the word.
First of all what an absolutely stunning location to start your video. Wow.
Next.. with the bz4x did you see if all 4 wheels were attached to the vehicle? Aparantly the wheels literally fall off those things.
And lastly. Hi Geoff!
Great video Lee!.
Hope they don't off to oulton park for the bike racing today .ps won't be stopping to charge and a 4 quid costa so no cost anxiety for me today😜👍
In Iceland sales of petrol and diesel cars have gone up 62% in the last year.....people are starting to smell a rat.
And very cold EV's don't start!
Chocolate Bourbon are best, and EVs still suck
Bourbon creams are the best custard creams are for old granny's....
Great coverage of Lake Windermere. Have to agree that EV sales are slightly down but the percentage of EV sales in 2023 was huge, so I guess that would be difficult to follow.
I think maybe you bought the wrong car. My VW ID. 4 is a daily driver and I have a second home 200 mi (3 hours) away I visit two to three times per month. Range and charging have been a non-issue. Wouldn't think of going back to a gas car.
Good for you! 😅
Obviously EV's with their "blood batteries" are a good choice for you, but obviously - Not a good choice, and simply not fit for purpose for everyone - Which is what many governments are pushing on us. The authorities should let the "free market" decide without all the forced mandates, government subsidies (paid for by us the taxpayers) and economic arm twisting that's going on. An absolute disgrace if you ask me....
Even hornby model locomotive are made in China 🇨🇳
Someone said , do you want to send your daughter away in an electric car and charging somewhere on the highway for an hour ? I don't !
Agree with you totally. Just been from Blackpool to Teddington for a week (don't ask why), filled up before I went, drove there and back, no messing about with costly costa coffees, no flattulence, 50 mpg and still have fifth of a tank of fuel. It takes long enough as it is, and I can without the rigmarole of adding an hour to recharge, although to be said, taking a break should be factored in a such a long journey. When i got to my destination, it was on road parking with no chance of a power hook up. Needless to say, an ev is not on the cards as a replacement for my 8 yr old Ford Edge caravan towcar.
EV's suck i will never buy one

I just could not own an EV - I would be too worried about range anxiety. I would rather not own a car if I could not have an ICE. Unfortunately that is exactly the response that they want. It’s so sad that we took so much for granted - just before the pandemic when you come to think of it. It suddenly feels like we have entered a dystopian society.
I don't get range anxiety with our ev get cost anxiety incase we have to charge before we get home and have to pay more than 7 pence per kwt unlike Lee who is happy to pay 80p per kwt and a 4 pound latte
Well done Lee great entertainment as always, the ‘one of us’ Teslas remind me of a 1990’s Ford Sierra crossed with a second generation VW beetle, you know the ones that people stuck daisy stickers on and had a vase on the dash with a plastic sunflower in, in fact Teslas would look great with a vase and imitation sunflower on their dash, it’ll brighten up the dull, boring interior.
EV's are just big "toy cars" for grown ups with batteries included! Next time you will have to buy new batteries yourself unfortunately!
just $40,000 for the toy car to run again! Some people just don't ever grow up! 🚒
Surely you would have received a notification on your phone/watch that the charge was interrupted @ Gridserve?
Love the Vid Lee - looking forward to see you 2 driving over to Benidorm -EV versus diesel. All you need is a 3rd gey driving petrol as well - keep the Vids flowing, makes my day - I'll know who'll win and it won't be EV. :)
So what would you say to somebody who has owned one for five years, is extremely happy with it, and would never go back to buying petrol? Why are our attitudes so different? By the way, of course you can charge up to 100% when you need to.
He certainly knows that. He does it all the time when he wants to make a fuss about how long it takes to "charge up". Even when his next inevitable stop only needs 60%.
I'd say good for you. Nobody minds you having an EV. The rest of us just don't want one imposed upon us. As long as we all retain our freedom of choice, then there's no problem.

EVs are not the future. China doesn't use renewable energy producing EVs. How does that help the environment?

It 's a very difficult question. Years ago, I would have said Bourbon but then Peak Freans changed the recipe and I didn 't like them as much. Today I lean toward custard creams.
Its uncanny, been to Bowness on Windermere, Palma Nova and Lanzarote, love the updates

How does the increased range in summer work out in 28-30c temps if the air conditioning is on? Does the a/c use more of the battery capacity to reduce the range more than the than the increased range granted by the warm weather.
ev's are for shallow thinkers ....
