GUYS I MESSED UP. The Eye of Reach does 70 Damage, not 90! I have been playing all this time and not known it was reduced a while ago. Apologies for the mis-information, everything i said still stands in this video though.
I started playing 2 months ago and like a few days ago I got told it was 90, makes a lot more sense that it's 70 cuz I hit people with sniper and blunder them real good and they get to live wich wouldn't make sense
I just checked wiki… you are correct, wtf. I DO NOT remember this change happening, I swear whenever i get shot by an eye of reach I lose 90% health. guess i’m crazy
6:02 yes, it kinda is the worst combo, but if you face it in a solosloop pvp battle, it still is fucking annyoing to deal with, due to the lack of space on a sloop (especially when peared with plunderbombs)
There’s no reward for me in sword anymore. It’s just like: “oh there goes another one, and there’s his teaaamateeeee oh and there goes their ship”. It’s soooo boring
Blunder sword is good for boarding, and when your not an ultra sweat lord you can’t always hit every shot. Blunder sword is the best and worst combo in the game it’s range is non existent but blunder bombs help with that, it requires the least skill so it’s easy for everyone to use. It’s not great in most situations but it’s not always and F tier. I’m pretty solid at sniper blunder but I find myself sad that I can’t use sword lunge.
Awesome guide! So like I saw in some of the B-roll, do you like Blunderbuss + Flintlock for sloop duels? I've been doing Blunder + EoR in hourglass but I think I could see uses for the faster flint reload and hipfire there while keeping as mobile as possible. Also: LOL you said you didn't record Sword+Blunder combo, but you did. Secret best setup confirmed.
Something I think you should have mentioned is, that you need to aim to get the full potential out of the Blunderbuss. I always see new players just spamming Left click and then complaining about why they don't one-shot other players.
Sword/blunderbuss when I'm boarding or helming with the potential for ship defense... as you board, let off the blunderbuss, Then immediately spring into sword combo after a quick step with sword block... works more often than not for me and gives me the added ability to phase behind targets in close quarters and swing from their back/side ... use the pistol for anything mid range and sniper for opening salvos...
5:20 how can someone who has played this game for over 5 years believe the eye of reach deals 90 damage? Where did you even get this information? 5:43 the flintlock does not aim any differently to the eye of reach. They both shoot exactly in the middle of the screen and the eye of reach even has a better scope.
I am mostly a PvE player and use flintlock/sword but am trying to be more versatile lately. I have switched to blunder/sword because i dont want to rely on ammo boxes. I just need more close range practice with blunderbuss.
For PVP it’s the Blunder + Reach while for PVE I go Cutlass + Flintlock It’s so satisfying cutting through multiple skeletons with a couple sword slashes and midrange snipes with the pistol are just as effective at killing any ranged AI enemy
Personally I use eor and blunderbuss. But I think the cutlass and blunderbuss is an amazing combo aswell. You just need to swap play style and only go for super short range combat. Mainly for boarding etc. ofc
@@AndysUnpaidIntern He just wants to do it faster and is wondering which loadout would be most efficient obviously anyone besides a day 1 player can kill a ashen lord

You’re SLEEPING on the sword.. depending on how slippery the player is capable of being the sword can easily dominate any other weapon.. didn’t even mention block jumping to dodge bullets
I've used blunder-sword for a very long time in solo PvP. While you basically have zero long-range options, you can outplay the enemies very easily with the sword. Either swordlunge and snipe them with the blunderbuss, swordhop around to dodge their shots to go behind them and blunder them to the face, or just straightup try to oneshot them, and if you miss some pellets it's very easy to finish them by just spamming the sword. It's incredibly hard, but I personally think that it can be incredibly good if used correctly.
@@AndysUnpaidIntern because it does. I'm not talking about just pressing left mouae button, because that's obviously braindead. I mean swordhopping and lunging
@@TheRealYgrek yeah, when you get to the same skill level as double gunning then it starts to be cool but let’s face it… 95% of sot players are pve only NPC’s who would run at you from one end of the galleon slashing their sword tryna send air ripples like it’s some kind of anime then use any other feature of the sword and will even win because of funny 3x stun. Block hopping and lunging exist but are rarely ever used effectively or even used at all by players so here lies the main issue: sword yields so many results at low level that players aren’t encouraged to climb beyond low level and thus stay there in that 95% and these mechanics don’t matter unless they are actually used So yeah, sword = braindead
Its not hard to outmove swordlunges. If youre facing someone with blunder/sniper or even sniper/pistol that actually knows what theyre doing youre at a massive disadvantage using sword. Even if for some reason they cant outmove it cause they made a mistake or got regged or whatever, they just need to hit you once during windup to cancel your lunge. Swordhopping is easily dealt with as bad player just backtrack you cause the game cant handle this stuff and your serverside hitbox is delayed, and a good player just waits for the first hop and hits you in the short cooldown for the second one. Im not saying youre not gonna get results with sword, especially at lower skillevels you can be very successfull with it but its objectively not as good as having a second gun. Maybe its better than blunder/pistol but thats also debatable
Yeah I think for solo sloop it can be very good if you can control the engagements. Or if you play solo hourglass probably. It's just a fairly small part of the playerbase who plays solo pvp to begin with I reckon.
As a player that actualy knows what he's doing i reccomend dont listen to him and pick blunder snipe situations when u can blunder snipe, skeet, kill someone from far distance are not reachable with pistol snipe(objectivly the worst double gun combo) just use sniper it topes blunder pistol 9/10 times and the 1/10 is when ur bad
