I actually prefer to just raise the sails a bit, then anchor to come to a full stop, then raise the sails all the way and lift the anchor. I find that just raising the sails i end up with my boat 1000 feet away 2 mins later because it slowly drifts. I dont see the issue dropping the anchor and immediately raising it especially on a sloop
I know it's a year later but I'll second this. I drop anchor to remove any momentum and reraise it immediately - this always keeps my ship in place. Make sure to keep your wheel really straight or your ship will rotate over time. Another alternative depending on your approach to an island, is to leave the sails down just ever so slightly just so you are slowly moving forward, then, depending how the shoreline is oriented to your ship, you can leave your ship well before you even park and it will be chilling at the shore where its running into land without taking dmg.
@@adraedin I know it's a year and 1 month later but I'll third this. Even on a galleon I will force my crew to drop the anchor when we are parked just right, and then raise it again. This makes parking blissfully easy.

Great content, me and a few friends are just starting out and sometimes it can be so difficult. we knocked out a red skull fort thing last night and their was a galleon waiting to run us down and stole all our loot.
I think its because the people who wear it 9 times out of ten are very aggressive but not very good. They're annoying to deal with so everyone immediately chooses murder when they see one. This is very on fortunate for players that just enjoy the outfits
You can get misc boxes and hold it go around stocking and Emptying barels using the box to stock so much faster and holds way more. Less back forth to ship

I see people say "never drop your anchor" but any time I try to pull up to an island or anything in any ship and just raise sails my ship keeps going, albeit much slower. Dropping anchor is the only way to actually stop moving.
Just drop anchor where you want to stop then raise it again. Your ship will stay put and you'll be ready to go when you want to sail away. Some good tips here but a lot of bullshit too.

How do u through it over urself on xbox
@@ashtontipper6597 haven't played for a while, but i believe it's LT to throw it at yourself and RT to throw away from yourself
@@SJ.- ok thank u
Thanks for this wonderful guide. I'm so late to this game, its helping me now.
I wish I watched this 2 years ago when I started the game
Tip 51: don’t put your snakes next to the harpoon or other things you need to access on the deck
First time i got in contact with you was ingame. right after i was looking for you on twitch. fun fact: when collecting tips for beeing better in SoT i just got that its you that im looking the vids from :D all i gotta say: you are epic. funny ingame, informative on youtube and entertaining on twitch. keep on going
thx
greetings Nito
Finally a video that tells me everything i know.
Bro we played togheter today, you are a really good player, thank you for helping me.
I am a veteran so I already have learned all of this but nonetheless thank you for doing an updated video over tips. I would easily say over 80% of players don’t know or don’t do a lot of this.
im so glad that you told me about how good you are at this game
Thanks for the help. I played Sot a lot but I stopped for like 9 months and forgot about some of these things thanks for the help😁
The ocean crawler looks sick why not ? 😂
Its very noob like
Great content, me and a few friends are just starting out and sometimes it can be so difficult. we knocked out a red skull fort thing last night and their was a galleon waiting to run us down and stole all our loot.
5:42 me who just bought the nightshine parrot outfit ._.
yea me and my crew too. dont get why this should be a bully factor ??
@@XaiceOriginal i dont understand it too
@@XaiceOriginal and why it should be a tip
Same
I guess it’s because how common it is. Almost every new player when they get the gold for it, buy it
Not even 10 seconds in: Tip number one. Subbed.
WHY DOES EVERYONE HATE OCEAN CRAWLER?!
Because inky kraken is miles better.
@@mattelwell3837 facts
@@AdmiralHellShot I like wild rose
I think its because the people who wear it 9 times out of ten are very aggressive but not very good. They're annoying to deal with so everyone immediately chooses murder when they see one. This is very on fortunate for players that just enjoy the outfits
@@mattelwell3837 for sure, I love the inky kraken set. Not sure how to feel about the venemous kraken set though
Good video starting straight away
Him:don’t fear PvP
Also him: don’t have lanterns on
Me: but don’t you want people to PvP?!
It is more about being the hunter rather than the prey.
And another tip: don't drop your anchor so you can escape quickly. lol
I haven’t played the game in 3 months but this video is making me wanna go play it rn
I don’t wear any of the cloths but you can wear whatever you want people will learn really quick what kind of players wear what
Could you explain what is up with night parrot Outfit wearers?
@@Sparble its cheap so lots of bots buy it
you are the best and thanks for the discord server it's really helpful
Him: it’s very hard to lower your anchor
Also him: Gets the option first time
Wow one of the first video game tips video that actually learned me things
Tip: Go to Reapers Hideout, On the Island without the reaper, and there should be a journal. Thank me later.
@P00nslayer its a rickroll
@P00nslayer rip i just cried
@P00nslayer i think so
@P00nslayer i got a friend with it so either they're a rare agent or just super lucky
@P00nslayer yup
The best tip video, I'm using that water bucket trick thank you saved my ship.
The cool thing is that I already do most of these so I thought that was funny
Thank you so much for the tips! Very helpful! 👌👍
Hello 19 seconds when I got here
Reset the page 😉
You can get misc boxes and hold it go around stocking and Emptying barels using the box to stock so much faster and holds way more. Less back forth to ship
me and my crew all with parrot items 👁👄👁
Thank you, very useful stuff :):)
15:00 lol he runs up and up can lower the anchor the first time
tip number 51 if u get sinken use rwoboat from ship to collect loot and if u remember location where u sink ship go there and pick loot form rowboat go there and loot dont gonna get vanished
Great video! You should have paused the music when showing the no shows, in my opinion.
the no shows?
I gotta say, your pirate looks really cool!
I need some tips on avoiding veteran players as they're the only thing that really discourages me from playing as a bunch I've come across so far were really toxic..
I bought the game a week ago and i dont know whats the problem
The only real way is by getting better at PVP. Maybe try some Arena and watch ladders with the blunderbuss so they either get 1 tapped or kicked off.
Run away
tip: dont buy a pvp pirate game xd
@@MrObame it's not really about the pvp, it's the toxicity. A lot of what appear me to be good players are really vulgar in mics and seem to troll you rather than try to sink you as fast as possible.
I see people say "never drop your anchor" but any time I try to pull up to an island or anything in any ship and just raise sails my ship keeps going, albeit much slower. Dropping anchor is the only way to actually stop moving.
it will crawl to a halt, raise the sails further away from the island than you would dropping the anchor.
Just drop anchor where you want to stop then raise it again. Your ship will stay put and you'll be ready to go when you want to sail away. Some good tips here but a lot of bullshit too.
How did you get that glowing shovel ?
Edit: me and my friend got a snake and I thought about those guys who play the flutes to snakes and they listen so I played music and it started dancing. (This was before I saw this vid)
Love these videos, your voice is very chill and relaxing. Great job on this channel mate!
These tips be like, "need ice? Freeze some water"
They are for us new players chump
@@MHollywood5 yeah I know I was just joking
OH MY GOSH thank you! i"m a new player and didnt know the majority of the stuff in the video !

6 ads on a 15 minute video.
Yes.
@@SeaOfConcepts I got no ad's and i dont have youtube premium
I’m surprised I actually learned a few things from this! Thanks! You were also spot on about people wearing the crab, parrot and pirate legend outfits

When you run out of tips. Lol.
#2 would have been nice to know yesterday
meh the whole "a certain outfit or ship design" makes you a bad player is like astrology but in sea of thieves, its quite arrogant to assume based on appearance. there is just no way to know how good a player is until you meet them.
