- This is the best weapon in Sea of Thieves. This is the load out you should be using, and I'll explain why in this easy guide to guns in Sea of Thieves. I'll teach you 10 tips for using the sword, sniper, blunderbuss, pistol, knife, and double barrel.

@@giantlizard9158 well that make sense... historically and not there are pirates and merchants.. it seems nobody still understood that, you just have to choose a side
I would love to see actual players guilds voted to defend peaceful players(merchants) from pirate players
@@digge2210 Speaking of history, pirates' favorite weapons are and were firearms, not metal sticks, they had its place of course but they did prefer shooting
Although sword fights are epic and require a lot of skill in real life, it is more convenient to shoot your opponent repeatedly until he dies, but in the game sword fighting seems clunky and requires less skill than aiming that's why no one respects the sword
The people who get mad at sword are the same players who equip blunderbuss and never swap it.
So hypothetically even if it was completely broken, you shouldn't care because real pirates used swords?

I was a sword and flintlock user for the majority of my gameplay before season 12. I'm currently rocking knife double barrel, not because I believe it's as effective, but I want to get better with the new weapons.

I didn't play the new update yet, but I think I am going to play sword and knives. Knives have a lot of fire rate and will outperform any other ranges weapon in boarding aside for blunderbuss oneshots. Double melee the new chad loadout.
Actually the skeleton throwable can win you games if you use it to capitalise on winning moments. Meaning if you get their mast you can use it to give you time to start spinning them or if they panic bucketing you use it and instantly win.
pair it with the skelly curse and they can’t tell which one is you very easily
It's also really good for boarding, it distracts most people so you can get an easy board

@finnlarson6364 My aim is really bad. That's why I use the pistol, the knives, the rifle. So I can get better. I use the sword because the mobility is too good.
The stun from the Swords is the annoying part

i think the double pistol and the throwing knife combo is incredibly good especially to board. you can blunder as well with it and if you want more range just use a pistol to follow up on the knife throws.

5:51 update. In my experience, The bone caller is literally just a free boarding pass on a sloop or brig (on a galleon theres a slight chance no skelly will attack a ladder guard). People cant afford to NOT deal with the spawned skellies. if they dont deal with the skellies, healthbars whittle away. If people do try to deal with the skellies you have a boarding opportunity. Its won me battles for sure.

Blocking with the sword also blocks damage from the dagger during a light attack or when thrown, making the sword a good defensive option
I have always liked mobility in my games and sword gives that so it is one item I will never put down. I also play alot of snipers in games so I mostly play sword/snipe. Feels like the most versatile. I sort of want to try to get good with the new double blade loadout though with sword/dagger but it doesnt seem very good but maybe i need have a playstyle change to make it work. I will be grinding the game practicing this combo.
As someone who has been in the game a bit longer, I would to see you put up a guide for new players to understand why there are so many people with double gund loadout. Great video!
Because of arena TDMers that why. There are only two kinds of people who loved arena, the ones who TDMed on the islands and the ones who loved the glory of battling 4 ships at once. TDMers are the ones who climb onto your ship and spawnkill you so noobs think doublegunning is the meta and join the hivemind instead of mastering the sword.

Double barrel is 40 per shot and the knife is 60 thrown 15 stab and 70 or 80 charged I forgot

I like how the new throwing knives have worse mobility than the sword even though they are the lighter weapon? You can't even hop while charing the heavy attack you are reduced to a crawl everytime you actually want to use this weapon.

I don’t understand why the sword is seen as the dishonorable option. First off, were pirates ok we don’t have honor. Second, double-gunning doesn’t feed the pirate fantasy.

@@AntoninoChiguretto it basically is, blunderbuss ruins pvp balance. It's real purpose is to give solo players a chance against multiple boarders and the only way to achieve that is for it to be grossly over powered.
@@Choom89 nah, you need all 10 pellets to hit you. If you prefer range then just dont allow it to be close. If you have sword you can hop to dodge. Of course thats my personal experience, but i would like to admit that i had looots of fights
@@Choom89 I've seen you go aroudn to dozens of comments telling people that blunderbuss is overpowered and hated and should be removed.
It really isn't. There are so many ways to counter it. You sound like you just have bad experiences with it, and don't know how to deal with it
I agree sword can be occasionally as I feel sometimes stunned but blunder is definitely more annoying just being dead in 0.2 seconds a really good sword user Is terrifying

Considering the blunderbuss, U forgot to mention backtracking and its inconsitancy in damage dealing.
After the sword reach nerf a few months ago, i consider this to be the most hated and noobfriendly weapon.
Blunderbuss has been OP since day 1.
what are the damage numbers on the throwing knife?
18 on the jab, 70 on the heavy stab and 60 on the throw
take this with a grain of salt though, these are just the numbers i've heard

I run sword/bluderbuss rn but I kinda want to try out knife/blunderbuss so I have some kind of ranged. How do I stop relying on the sword lunge so much?

I honestly feel like the sniper is kinda toxic in its current state. Not that people who use it are toxic, but the sniper is toxic for the games combat as people just use it as a higher damage pistol. I feel like it should reward using it for sniping, and feel clunky in close range hand to hand
Hitting shots without aiming is a pistols advantage too. Sniper in the first year used to do this and unless you quick scope perfectly it is not a good pistol replacement.
@weststormborn yeah, but people dont use the pistol much because the sniper outranks it. I honestly dont think it should be able to quick scope, to emphasize its slower gameplay style of sniping and stuff. But then again, knife also outranks it now. So idk
Sniper Is ok, but i hate people double gunning with it. Like sometimes when i board i get Insta killed from the other side of the boat, before i can atleast see their stupid face.
Never realized all the utility and sheer power each weapon provides... all the more reason why Mouse&keyboarders piss me off... as they can best utilize the weapons strengths to their fullest potentials.
Technical limitations suck!
Remove blunderbuss and replace it with double barrel, put knives in barrels so they are not a primary weapon. I think those two changes would improve pvp.
I love the double barrel but it just doesn’t do enough damage the bullets should do 50 damage so burst one shots and it would make the clunkieness balanced
just no that ruins the point keep in mind that only does 5 less dammage from the pistol making it a 2 shot kill and another insta kill gun but instead of you having to get really close like the blunder you only have to get mid range like a pistol COMPLETELY ruining balance "clunkiesness" alright I get it but once you get used to the gun by practicing aiming one shot than aiming the other instead of being used to shooting 1 shot than being done than it becomes a good gun

They should just replace blunder with the double barrel and put throwing knives in barrels so they don't take a weapon slot
