This is one of the prettiest quilt blocks that I have ever seen - I, not good at math whatsoever, think I could even make this with your great directions! A HUGE thank you to both of you for an old quilter! (30 years quilting-STILL bad at math!)
Those print fabrics are gorgeous! I love the quilt..pattern is fabulous. I think the color choices were perfect for this, the pattern is shown off quite nicely because of it.
I hope someone from Fons & Porter can answer my question: On the finished quilt that is made in this video...the solid diamonds in cream have a stitched diamond in their centers...how did they this get completed and all even across the quilt? Thank you!
I really like this pattern. One question however, is there any way to "square up" the diamond so they are all the exact size. Mine are off a little so I am concerned about the final step (sewing them to the large solid diamond.). Thank you for your help.
You could make yourself a template for trimming, but things will probably be fine. Take your time, try not to stretch the edges. If an edge gets a little stretched use a little steam or starch to "shrink" it back.
@@6quilter4 it helps to have a well marked ruler to ensure good alignment. I sew lots of diamonds and like Creative Grids 45 degree diamond dimensions ruler which would work perfectly for this beautiful project
Can't make corrections on my phone. PLEASE NOTE SECOND SENTENCE in my below comment, I meant to say: ....seems to be alot of WASTE when cutting the 1/4 inch seam allowance you described at the very end when squaring off the quilt to add border etc. So sorry. I thought I had proofed properly. Bad me! Thank you.
you could - in this pattern there are many different prints used for the diamonds which would mean quite a few strip sets. You would also want to off-set the piecing of those strips so you wouldn't waste fabric. The diamond angle is quite steep and would be more difficult to determine the off-set amount. We usually try to find the easiest and most streamline method for construction. Our goal is to make your piecing experience pleasant:)
It's beautiful. However there seems to be alot of ways when cutting the 1/4 in that u described at the very end after placing them all together. Wouldn't it be easier to cut a half sq triangle or wedge pc to fit the end triangle pcs or am I saying what I'm thinking all wrong??? I see what I'm referring to in my mind but not sure how to put it into words. I just feel there a better way to do that without so much waste. If course, that's what scraps are for when setting paper piecing quilts or scrap quilts. I love paper piecing but not fond of scrap quilts. If anyone knows what I mean, please don't hesitate to speak up. I'm ALWAYS open for suggestions. I'm going to give it a try and will share my tips ) if I have any...lll) when done. Give me a months, cuz I've his so much to do right now. Shouldn't be watching this but it's break time! Thanks for sharing. It's a beautiful technique and the quilt was as well. Have loved and watched Fons and Porter for many, many years!!! God bless and have a Happy and blessed Easter. L :) Central PA
It is wasteful. Cut a triangle tall enough for seam allowance using a strip and a 45 degree triangle ruler. Make a test block to ensure your cuts are correct. Might be worth oversizing but shift the oversized to the edge NOT the tip.

Your music is the best ever! I could listen to this all day long.
That fabric line is just beautiful!
I'm back again, a year later STILL DREAMING of this GORGEOUS quilt!
Thank you Jean!!
I can see why you love the fabric. This pattern is great. I love it :-)
Nice tutorial, thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
A 45 degree triangle ruler cold be employed to make side setting triangles to include seam allowance to be more efficient for top and bottom edges
Beautiful pattern ~ Strippy Diamonds Quilt tutorial. Thank you for sharing!
This is beautiful and I need to work on accuracy of stitch width and making points. This quilt will provide me with a lot of practice!
Well done!
Love the ösmotic "learning- straight grain on top etc as you went along.
Hugs WAH.
Our goal is to make quilting a joy and reduce the "bumps" that slow us down:)
Nice and easy! Thanks ladies!
You could also use the pre-made diamond as a template to cut out the white diamonds.
+Liz Turney
I suppose you could - just make sure not to distort the one you're using as a template. There are lots of ways to create patchwork:)

Thank you; I will try that - wish me luck. Ha Ha
Could you sew the white and print strips together first then cut?
You could sew them first, but you need to keep them from becoming distorted - try it and see if it works for you:) Let me know how it goes.
Colleen Tauke
You could do that. Just off-set the strips so you don't waste a chunk with the first cut:)

What fabric is that called? Thank you

You could strip piece the middle row
