Red on red 🤣! My Mom and I were talking about so many of the videos are for advanced quilters. But this awesome video takes it back to the beginning! Yay!!!! Thanks so much for helping the newbies!!!!
It's a good reminder that although we might plan the block carefully, things get turned around between the layout and the sewing machine, but it still looked good, even with the "mistake."
Jenny, you just made my day !! After crushing my shoulder a few years back I can only sew for a very short time before the pain takes me away from my favorite hobby. Looking at this quilt tutorial I may be able to make stars again !! I'm so happy after your sweet tutorial tonight !! Love you my precious friend ! Blessings to you Jenny.❤❤❤😊
I have a back injury that took me away from sewing for a few years. I now have a pain psychologist that recommended that I set a 5 minute timer when I sit down to sew then take a break and lay down for 1/2 hour. I have put together 4 appliquéd quilt tops in the last 7 months starting off with 5 minutes and progressing slowly to 15 minutes. She proved to me that I could enjoy my hobby just in bite sized pieces 😊
Boy can I understand this. Now that I am a Sr citizen all the fun I had previously has come back to haunt me in the form of pain. Age is wonderful LOL. I will try bits at a time, thanks for the tip.
@@shannabauer Sadly it doesn't get easier. I break things up I sew one day then press blocks with my new cordless iron. I bought a electric aquaquilt a few years ago and it is a lifesaver. I use bio freeze so much I should of invested in company.

While I am experienced as a quilter, I haven't had the time to sew in a very long while. You've just reminded me of the joy I had when I started, and this is the perfect one to start over again. Thank you for helping us to revisit our roots.
I'm 53 and never attempted a quilt before, and I'm so pleased to have found this channel. I'm a little familiar with sewing basics, but worry I'll get frustrated and give up before I finish. Does anyone have tips for how to plan and actually complete a full sewing project? I really want to try but there's so much to learn, and most folks I find have been doing it for YEARS, it all just feels a bit overwhelming to get started.
Aaaahhh...the colors of fall, which I love. Autumn is near and I am glad. This would be a super throw quilt by just adding another row and another column. Thanks!
I guess I am an advanced beginner. I love stars! I have lots of Moda One Fine Day that I want to make a king sized quilt with. This is the perfect pattern.
As always, the perfect fabric with the perfect pattern. Thank you for visiting me in my home every week. I live in hot, hot Texas and your sweater makes me sweat.😅
I think it's great to do some beginner quilt tutorials because everyone like a quilt that is easy to make! I would like more tutorials that you don't have to do so much work to have a nice quilt like this one! Thank you!
Thank you for going back to the basics. I am still new, less than 3 years and it is good to be reminded of the beginning. Plus, I really like the new format with the picture in picture.

I'm glad you said to take those pins out Jenny. I've had two quilts that I had to make a tiny cut to get a pin out that I'd accidentally left in. 🙄🤪 How I quilted over that without knowing I had pins still in the quilt I'll never know!
Thank you for caring so much about us all, beginner's - advanced, In every video I've seen you in, you simply know what to address from the viewers point of view. Whether it's a pin slanted, a nested seam, an ironing of a set seam- before flipping it over- to press the top seam, you always pay attention to details for us. You truly are a jewel, a gem of a person. I feel the love you give to us all. And that's the same, for how your Missouri Star Quilting Company has been serving your customers for years, too. ❤❤❤

Hello Jenny from Portland Oregon. I have to say how fun and encouraging this tutorial is. You literally have taught me how to quilt from my earliest days using fat quarters. Between the "Block" magazine, you tube channel and Friday triple play, there's so much creativity and inspiration for all levels of quilters. Thank you for 15 wonderful years, I look forward to many more to come. Some day I will make the journey to Hamilton, it's on my bucket list!
This is such a perfect tutorial for me this week. I have been watching your videos for years but just decided to take on teaching a group of kids a little about quilting and have been worried about finding a simple but cute pattern. I knew I’d find something from Jenny to help!
I've been quilting about 4 years now and while I don't consider myself a beginner, beginner, I'm definitely not advanced. I learned to quilt from TH-cam videos. I very much appreciate Jenny and MSQ more generally for creating content for EVERYONE regardless of skill level. I also like these videos designated as "beginner" because I know going in that it's something in my wheel house. Quilt blocks can be deceptive, especially because MSQ makes many more accessible. But I like knowing, this is a thing I can do fairly quickly and I'm going to be confident.
This is a wonderful reminder of how to do a quick and beautiful quilt. Thank you. I have been a quilter for many years. This is one I will make very soon - just to relax.
