@@dondemonico Friede had her entire embered phaze removed. Maria had the larger health pool by a whopping 3000 hp... The matchup was fair. And yes, this mod is good enough to give us an idea of what an accurate outcome would look like.
@@dondemonico nothing they can do about the ai like they literally can't change it if you're gonna complain about the ai complain to fromsoft for designing their bosses to fight the player and not having 1v1's with other bosses in different games

The fact that Lady Maria did all of this at a slow walk is pretty legit. Just shows how much of a tank her boss design is. I remember the first time fighting her I used the Boom Hammer. Her slow walk allowed for some poise break openings with the trick explosions.

@@dondemonico There is also the fact that Fried was also incapable of getting her grab off as well, that would have been a lot of damage and it can't actually hit Maria. it was a good fight given the pros and cons of the characters. He also only scaled down Maria a bit, he said nothing about movement just stats, and only to make the damage even, since values are different between the two games, Maria hits Fried with her explosion in the first battle so it wasn't removed. it only does like 6k to orphan who is dummy weak to blood damage. even my character in BB can tank it.
@@smoker5989 Logarius since his two phases are completely different. He starts out as a passive caster and in second phase he becomes extremely aggressive. Sulyvanh just gets a buddy that telegraphs moves for him and has like 3 extra attacks.
These two women are so similar, yet they have polar opposite powers. Lady Maria, of fire and blood. Sister Friede, of ash and ice. Both sit and speak cordially with the player, while urging them to turn the other way and leave. Both guard a terrible secret. Both fight with elegance and poise, yet are devastatingly deadly with each calculated blow. Both could brutally mutilate me and I would thank them for it 😍😍😍😍😍
It's also worth noting that Frieda is all about ice and scythes and stuff because she knows that's what the painting's inhabitants expect of a Lady of the Painting. In reality she's one of the leaders of New Londo, and is All About The Dark. Meanwhile, Lady Maria didn't really *use* those blood powers of hers much if at all in life, because she despises them. Her drawing out her blood for a second form isn't her powering up to the next level, it's Malenia becoming the goddess of Rot to kick your ass.

But lore wise, Luca must be a really menacing fighter just for the fact that she turned into hollow like only 2 or 3 locations before the game's finale. @@nachalnik5738 Shrine Of Winter is, in fact, pretty close to Aldia's Keep, so we can assume she gave up on looking for her brother inside the Keep and somewhat ended up in Eleum Loyce. Plus, we can also find Mirrah Hat in Frigid Outskirt, and considering Lucatiel taking her mask off during the final encounter, I think her journey actually ended there.
What I love about this is just how simular these two are, they both lean into high dex curved blades, augmented with potent large aoe spells, they're both wild and fast, with quick dashes and large sweeping lunges, and all the matches were very close because of that. So fun to watch
she would have taken this whole thing if the devs didn't make freida hyper mobile. she had her down to one hit each time she lost after two whole healthbars
Tbf, this is a modded Maria, so AI may be a little funky. Had she been as aggressive as she is in Bloodborne, she would mop the floor with Friede on all 3 rounds.
@@Someone_Somewhere7 yah but Freida was also nurfed. Maria would die a lot quicker if she took frostbite damage or Freida's Invisable attacks happened. I never saw the moveset where she spams the frost attacks 3 times each time jumping and turning invisible. Or the sneak backstab and throw.

My god that death match was absolutely terrifying, even though Maria was roughly at 30% hp she STILL reased Friede's health to close to zero, AND she was scaled down for this fight. Simply incredible.
actually friede was handicapped in this fight, which i understand, it dragged the battle long enough to be entertaining. friede remained with the same poise she always had, while lady maria was given a huge amount of poise, also friede was doing half the damage that lady maria does, or more like maria was doing double the damage. But regardless i'm pretty happy with the outcome. slow clap tp the modders of these fights, they're doing a fantastic job

I think Bloodborne has difference scaling to account for gemstone and crazy thing you can get. Also Friede has completely normal human NPC poise while Maria has boss poise
The fact that this fight could even be setup to begin with is very impressive and long awaited for. I love both Dark Souls and Bloodborne and just by reading most of these comments people seemed to favor and lean more towards Maria to win and a dozen different “the only reason why Frieda won” but you gotta keep in mind, Frieda did that sweeping grab attack in her black flame phase on Waifu Lady Maria over 3 times but it didn’t render the full animation and damage a normal player would take. They were both close fights but imagine if those grab attacks actually rendered in, there would be a major damage significance. Just something to think about.
Yeah it would be a cool fight but midir would constantly stagger him . For some reason Bloodborne bosses are very easy to stagger it seems or at least compared to midir they are

That was the thing with orphan of Kos vs Gael. Orphan had Gael's number until gael's final phase. From that point, Gael is just wildly too fast/relentless for Orphan to keep up with. I think some people get it in their heads that ds3 is still generally the typical, slow methodical souls-like combat of 1/2, but certain bosses/enemies match, and even outpace some of the fastest enemies from bloodborne.

It looks like Sister Friede's insta-kill attack in the third phase never triggered, nor did her fancy attack in phase one that is not-quite-insta-kill-but-still-pretty-close (where she launches you in the air and cuts your neck). Seems like Lady Maria was not the only one who was nerfed.
Actually it's on Sony not Fromsoftware because they had to sign a contract which says that Sony is the one who decides if it will be on PC or not and i don't think Sony will give up Bloodborne away

It's kinda amazing to see how simultaneously similar and different their movesets are. It's pretty obvious some of Maria is present in Frieda, when it comes to these moves and mannerisms in the ai.

For me Call of the Abyss is an amazing mod and being able to see this fights Is even more amazing, but It still needs some polishing. And there are some Dark Souls 3 fans bragging about their bosses being the best because of this fights,which Is also stupid.

I'm surprised how aligned the fight was. I expected an easier victory for Friede. In my opinion both are the toughest bosses in their games, but Friede seems to be the stronger
@@BassLux Maria has more damage because of Bloodborne scaling. It's difficult to compare bosses of different games, equalization of damage is a fair solution. Whether the boss is better should not be decided by damage, but by an arsenal of attacks and skills

While Friede has 2/3 of her hp in her final form, Maria barely has 1/4 of it. Doesn't seem like a fair fight. And still, Maria was one hit from winning. Who's the real winner now?
Friede, clearly, because you also neglect to mention that Maria was in poise mode from the start and would've gotten deleted before even reaching Friede's 3rd phase if not for that. Extremely biased fight towards Maria and she still lost.

@@VV-iu9eo She doesn't though. Or there's something off with her damage. Maria hits her for 400-1200. Friede hits her for 140. There's something wrong there. Friede hits the player character (and you have more defense in Dark Souls than you do in Bloodborne) way harder than Maria does.
I mean... to be honest... this fight didn't seem fair. Friede was getting two full health bars, while Maria beat her 3 times (almost) with just a single bar). Even the final sudden death round , where Friede got her full health bar and maria got only what little health she was left, Maria still manage to bring Friede's health down to just one hit left.
What makes her so hard is the 3 full rounds, each at a full hp bar. That's why she even won this fight. Everyone knows Maria is way stronger and would win if she wasn't weakened prior and if they gave her full hp each phase.
@@Batman_83 In this fight Friede had only 1st and 3rd phase (4,863 + 6,864 = 11,727 HP according to the video, and these are NG values according to the wiki), while Maria had all 3 phases with 14.081 HP (also NG values). If Friede had her second phase (excluding the help from Ariandal, of course) she would have 4,863+7,150+6,864 = 18,877 HP. Therefore, even having one less phase worth of HP she was still able to kill Maria in the first round. If Friede had all her 3 phases she would win most of the time. The difference is that although Maria has only one health bar, she has a massive HP pool of 14K. So for all reasons and purposes Maria has 3 HP bars worth of life comparing to a regular DS3 boss(Sulyvan has 5106 HP, for comparison). To understand how much HP she has you need to remember that Gael has 14K HP and Midir has 15K

She has 14K just like in the original Bloodborne, and her HP bar NEVER recovered to full with each phase in the original game, she simply changed phases as she lost HP. As for her not being as aggressive it is probably Friede's Frostbite, which reduces stamina regen. This fight is already unfair with Friede not having 7K HP from her second phase, don't try to cheat it even further.
Friede's agility kept her alive long enough for her to defeat Maria. We saw how quickly Friede's first phases fell in the second round. Maria's lack of speed is her downfall, she simply can't swing faster than Friede can dodge. I love Lady Maria's design but that doesn't make up for the fact she's a literal walking corpse.

The only issue with her is the fact that you can easily parry her. Get rid of that and she's probably the best boss in the entire soulsborne serie
She acts tough, but her attacks leave her so open its not even funny.
Maria seemed overly fond of walking right up into Friede's face in all three phases, compared to how aggressive she gets in Bloodborne.

It's also worth noting that Frieda is all about ice and scythes and stuff because she knows that's what the painting's inhabitants expect of a Lady of the Painting. In reality she's one of the leaders of New Londo, and is All About The Dark. Meanwhile, Lady Maria didn't really *use* those blood powers of hers much if at all in life, because she despises them. Her drawing out her blood for a second form isn't her powering up to the next level, it's Malenia becoming the goddess of Rot to kick your ass.

Plus, we can also find Mirrah Hat in Frigid Outskirt, and considering Lucatiel taking her mask off during the final encounter, I think her journey actually ended there.

What I love about this is just how simular these two are, they both lean into high dex curved blades, augmented with potent large aoe spells, they're both wild and fast, with quick dashes and large sweeping lunges, and all the matches were very close because of that. So fun to watch

Tbf, this is a modded Maria, so AI may be a little funky. Had she been as aggressive as she is in Bloodborne, she would mop the floor with Friede on all 3 rounds.
@@Someone_Somewhere7 yah but Freida was also nurfed. Maria would die a lot quicker if she took frostbite damage or Freida's Invisable attacks happened. I never saw the moveset where she spams the frost attacks 3 times each time jumping and turning invisible. Or the sneak backstab and throw.
Lock on supposed to be disable when Frieda goes invisible. Maria's tracking was a bit too good here if you ask me.

My god that death match was absolutely terrifying, even though Maria was roughly at 30% hp she STILL reased Friede's health to close to zero, AND she was scaled down for this fight. Simply incredible.
actually friede was handicapped in this fight, which i understand, it dragged the battle long enough to be entertaining. friede remained with the same poise she always had, while lady maria was given a huge amount of poise, also friede was doing half the damage that lady maria does, or more like maria was doing double the damage. But regardless i'm pretty happy with the outcome. slow clap tp the modders of these fights, they're doing a fantastic job

I think Bloodborne has difference scaling to account for gemstone and crazy thing you can get. Also Friede has completely normal human NPC poise while Maria has boss poise

The fact that this fight could even be setup to begin with is very impressive and long awaited for. I love both Dark Souls and Bloodborne and just by reading most of these comments people seemed to favor and lean more towards Maria to win and a dozen different “the only reason why Frieda won” but you gotta keep in mind, Frieda did that sweeping grab attack in her black flame phase on Waifu Lady Maria over 3 times but it didn’t render the full animation and damage a normal player would take. They were both close fights but imagine if those grab attacks actually rendered in, there would be a major damage significance. Just something to think about.
Sister friede was my favorite boss in ds3. I loved the fight, atmosphere and music; also great job on the audio editing for this video.

It’s a pity that Sister Friede didn’t perform all her combos, I was worried about Sister Friede.
Cannot be overstated just how FAST Dark Souls 3 actually is.
That was the thing with orphan of Kos vs Gael. Orphan had Gael's number until gael's final phase. From that point, Gael is just wildly too fast/relentless for Orphan to keep up with. I think some people get it in their heads that ds3 is still generally the typical, slow methodical souls-like combat of 1/2, but certain bosses/enemies match, and even outpace some of the fastest enemies from bloodborne.
@@LoganHallard I don’t think any of the bosses or enemies in bloodborne outpace the screaming sages in bloodborne chalice dungeons. Those things could move at the speed of light.

For me Call of the Abyss is an amazing mod and being able to see this fights Is even more amazing, but It still needs some polishing. I'm surprised how aligned the fight was. I expected an easier victory for Friede. In my opinion both are the toughest bosses in their games, but Friede seems to be the stronger

@@BassLux Maria has more damage because of Bloodborne scaling. It's difficult to compare bosses of different games, equalization of damage is a fair solution. Whether the boss is better should not be decided by damage, but by an arsenal of attacks and skills
Wrong, Maria has way more demage and health, they nerfed her on this, read what they said, her blood explosion alone in BB does 6k demage.
Friede is a lot more aggressive, though not technically stronger.
Maria had to be downscaled by a ton to make the fight somewhat even.

Friede, clearly, because you also neglect to mention that Maria was in poise mode from the start and would've gotten deleted before even reaching Friede's 3rd phase if not for that. Extremely biased fight towards Maria and she still lost.

@@VV-iu9eo She doesn't though. Or there's something off with her damage. Maria hits her for 400-1200. Friede hits her for 140. There's something wrong there. Friede hits the player character (and you have more defense in Dark Souls than you do in Bloodborne) way harder than Maria does.

I mean... to be honest... this fight didn't seem fair.
Friede was getting two full health bars, while Maria beat her 3 times (almost) with just a single bar).
Even the final sudden death round , where Friede got her full health bar and maria got only what little health she was left, Maria still manage to bring Friede's health down to just one hit left.
That's why Friede is so hard. She rivals a Bloodborne Hunter in agility and attacks.
What makes her so hard is the 3 full rounds, each at a full hp bar. That's why she even won this fight. Everyone knows Maria is way stronger and would win if she wasn't weakened prior and if they gave her full hp each phase.
@@Batman_83 In this fight Friede had only 1st and 3rd phase (4,863 + 6,864 = 11,727 HP according to the video, and these are NG values according to the wiki), while Maria had all 3 phases with 14.081 HP (also NG values). If Friede had her second phase (excluding the help from Ariandal, of course) she would have 4,863+7,150+6,864 = 18,877 HP.
Therefore, even having one less phase worth of HP she was still able to kill Maria in the first round. If Friede had all her 3 phases she would win most of the time. The difference is that although Maria has only one health bar, she has a massive HP pool of 14K. So for all reasons and purposes Maria has 3 HP bars worth of life comparing to a regular DS3 boss(Sulyvan has 5106 HP, for comparison). To understand how much HP she has you need to remember that Gael has 14K HP and Midir has 15K

What I was saying if Maria got full hp with each of her phases, Friede would never win any encounter. I want to see the real Maria, not weakened, being crazy aggressive and full strength in this fight. It's clear she would win. But that's unfair bc Bloodborne bosses are way more op compared to Souls bosses.

She has 14K just like in the original Bloodborne, and her HP bar NEVER recovered to full with each phase in the original game, she simply changed phases as she lost HP. As for her not being as aggressive it is probably Friede's Frostbite, which reduces stamina regen.

Having Maria recover full HP with each phase would be straight out cheating. This fight is already unfair with Friede not having 7K HP from her second phase, don't try to cheat it even further.
Friede's agility kept her alive long enough for her to defeat Maria. We saw how quickly Friede's first phases fell in the second round. Maria's lack of speed is her downfall, she simply can't swing faster than Friede can dodge. I love Lady Maria's design but that doesn't make up for the fact she's a literal walking corpse.
