I tried this recipe and added a bag of frozen mixed vegetables with white and yellow corn, peas and carrots and with red yellow and orange peppers and baby it was on fire 🔥🔥🔥. This recipe is a family heirloom!!! Kudos Ms. Chris👏👏👏

i like to make it on a Saturday afternoon, put it in the fridge, and Sunday dinner is done! Just have to warm it up after church. I also use 2 cans of biscuits, and add the chopped carrots, celery, onions and frozen peas right before I add the biscuits. This is a great recipe!
Almost like my chicken and dumplings. The main thing I do I differently is add mixed veggies. I know its not traditional, but it makes it a complete meal and I had to get my kids to eat their veggies! So good! Thanks for the video!

I took your recipe & advice. I used my roaster & roasted a whole chicken w/ onions, fresh garlic & the seasonings I like. So mine had white meat & dark meat. Then used my roaster as a crock pot. I put all the ingredients you recommended in let it get to a good boil. The cream of chicken soup makes it so creamy. Put in those fabulous buttermilk biscuits...& WOW! My entire family went nuts over this. Can't wait to try some of your other recipes. Thanks for making my family dinner a good one!
Would there be a way to use the buttermilk biscuits to make to roll out & slice the dumplings instead of using 4 pieces? I am stuck on making them like my grandmother & she left no recipe.
This is the first chicken and dumplings recipe using canned biscuits I've seen that looks like it might be worth a shot. I still love old school homemade dumplings. I'm going to try it to though. Long as you can't taste the canned biscuit taste I would give it a thumbs up. We will see

These ladies can cook! The secret Lipton Onion Soup mix is by far one of the best "hidden" ingredients I have ever tried in C&D. You can't tell it's onion soup mix, but it adds another level of flavor that's great! I added a can of sliced carrots and two tablespoons of dried parsley from my pantry to punch up the color. Thanks for yet another GREAT recipe!!!

Chris I have been doing that every since I was 12 years old , and I also use Knolls chicken flavor bouillon powder.I also use half of pot of water to half carton chicken stock!!!😊😊😊😊❤❤❤ , the biscuits are the best way to go.

OMG! Chris, I cook this tonight & I absolutely loved it! I have stayed away from making dumplings because as far as I was concerned, if I could not make my dumplings taste like my grandmothers than what was the point! Well, let me tell you these were definitely a close second, I think she would be proud, and to think they weren't homemade like hers and could almost pass! I never would have dreamed that you C. C. would take a shortcut as this, just because someone sent you a recipe to cut corners. I remember my mother using a whole chicken & rolling out the dumpling into strips & with the chicken fat & butter & yellow food color & saxon, which made the prettiest & tastiest yellow pot of chicken & dumplings EVER! And that was nearly 60 years ago. Nowadays, everybody wants to take a shortcut to everything, from cooking to life SHAMEFUL! I know our ancestors are turning over in their graves over these disgraceful acts. People don't have time now to do anything but "HAVE FUN"! PITIFUL!
It's quite old school to me. This is the way my grandpa used to make his when I was a younger adult. Straight outta Arkansas. Made with jumbo biscuits... didn't use the cutter he just pulled the biscuits apart with is fingers perfect dumplings fat and small yaaaas!! Thanks Ms. Chris for the memories 😊
I Cooked this for a dinner party last night and it was just wonderful.. I added green onions with the liption soup mix and it still wasnt too onion'e. I also added baby carrots and celery which i really enjoyed n got the kids to eat some xtra veggies.. I wounder how it would come out if u baked the biscute first then added. But i love this recipe two thumbs up auntie chris. With all foodbu just gotta make it ur own!
That's exactly how I make mines except I sauté onions, carrots and celery and add it while the chicken if boiling. I love your channel. do you have a lemon cake recipe.

I have been making this for years now and it’s amazing! I use rotisserie chicken And store-bought buttermilk biscuits with homemade biscuits. It gives it a different textures and it’s awesome.

Honey I thought the same thing too. Watching her, she had already added the soup, and she added the water to the can to scrape out the remainder, of the soup. No offense, I'll stick to my ole fashion of way of chicken and dumplings.
real issues I have always made my own dumplings and my. Broth is made from boiling the chicken in the water along with spices. One thing I add that I learned from a women you earned a blue ribbon is apple cider vinegar. I add it to the broth just a couple tablespoons and what a difference. I never hear anyone say to add the acv but I’m telling you if you try it you won’t ever leave it off. It’s sound gross but it mixes with the flavors and enhances them.

Chris! We’ve made chicken & dumplings like this for years!! My only difference is I add a bit of cream to make my gravy richer...AND I use the small 10 count cans of buttermilk biscuits. Same difference. But for my big ole family of 4, I have to use 5 cans of biscuits or they bust out in fight at the table!!! God love ‘em, them get hungry between bites!!! Love you, Chris!!!
Hi Chris--I have tried two of your recipes since I recently found your channel. Both recipes my family and I loved. The first one I made was Banana Pudding with Nilla Vanilla Wafers. I thought it couldn't be as good as homemade. Wrong! The taste was exactly like you stated. Homemade! I will not tell you how much my husband and I ate. Just know it was sinful and I am slightly ashamed. The second recipe was Chicken And Dumplings. That was terrific too. My son was not going to like it (he is 38 years old) and ate it because that is what we had for dinner. He told me he was shocked, he loved it, and couldn't believe how much. I thank you for your wonderful teaching. Last night I watched you make Okra. Thank goodness I never fried okra before. I would have done it completely wrong. I now feel confident to fry some for my daughter-in-law who loves it. I just wish I was there with you at your side, being your sous chef. Thank you for all the recipes and skills you've shared. This is how I make my chicken and dumplings too. Been doing it for years. I usually start with a whole chicken and take it off the bone but I think I'm gonna try it this way with the pieces to make a little less work! You are the bomb dot com!

I add seasoned my thighs for a couple days and add about an 1/8 cup of white wine, about a 1/2 teaspoon of parsley, thyme & 2 bay leaves & some egg noodles! The water is in proportion to the amount of chicken being cooked. As long as you cover your chicken with water it will be fine. Then you can add more water if your chicken is not completely cooked. However, this will be the best C&D ever!!!!! Thank you for passing me on to your daughter. God Bless.

I have stayed away from making dumplings because as far as I was concerned, if I could not make my dumplings taste like my grandmothers than what was the point! Well, let me tell you these were definitely a close second, I think she would be proud, and to think they weren't homemade like hers and could almost pass! I am so happy to have found this recipe & your channel! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! BTW, the Hubby loved it too!
I never would have dreamed that you C. C. would take a shortcut as this, just because someone sent you a recipe to cut corners. I remember my mother using a whole chicken & rolling out the dumpling into strips & with the chicken fat & butter & yellow food color & saxon, which made the prettiest & tastiest yellow pot of chicken & dumplings EVER! And that was nearly 60 years ago. Nowadays, everybody wants to take a shortcut to everything, from cooking to life

It's quite old school to me. This is the way my grandpa used to make his when I was a younger adult. Straight outta Arkansas. Made with jumbo biscuits... didn't use the cutter he just pulled the biscuits apart with is fingers perfect dumplings fat and small yaaaas!! Thanks Ms.

I Cooked this for a dinner party last night and it was just wonderful.. I added green onions with the liption soup mix and it still wasnt too onion'e. I also added baby carrots and celery which i really enjoyed n got the kids to eat some xtra veggies.. I wounder how it would come out if u baked the biscute first then added. But i love this recipe two thumbs up auntie chris. With all foodbu just gotta make it ur own!

That's exactly how I make mines except I sauté onions, carrots and celery and add it while the chicken if boiling. I love your channel. do you have a lemon cake recipe.

I have been making this for years now and it’s amazing! I use rotisserie chicken And store-bought buttermilk biscuits with homemade biscuits. It gives it a different textures and it’s awesome.

Honey I thought the same thing too. Watching her, she had already added the soup, and she added the water to the can to scrape out the remainder, of the soup. No offense, I'll stick to my ole fashion of way of chicken and dumplings.
real issues I have always made my own dumplings and my. Broth is made from boiling the chicken in the water along with spices. One thing I add that I learned from a women you earned a blue ribbon is apple cider vinegar. I add it to the broth just a couple tablespoons and what a difference. I never hear anyone say to add the acv but I’m telling you if you try it you won’t ever leave it off. It’s sound gross but it mixes with the flavors and enhances them.

Chris! We’ve made chicken & dumplings like this for years!! My only difference is I add a bit of cream to make my gravy richer...AND I use the small 10 count cans of buttermilk biscuits. Same difference. But for my big ole family of 4, I have to use 5 cans of biscuits or they bust out in fight at the table!!! God love ‘em, them get hungry between bites!!! Love you, Chris!!!

Hi Chris--I have tried two of your recipes since I recently found your channel. Both recipes my family and I loved. The first one I made was Banana Pudding with Nilla Vanilla Wafers. I thought it couldn't be as good as homemade. Wrong! The taste was exactly like you stated. Homemade! I will not tell you how much my husband and I ate. Just know it was sinful and I am slightly ashamed. The second recipe was Chicken And Dumplings. That was terrific too. My son was not going to like it (he is 38 years old) and ate it because that is what we had for dinner. He told me he was shocked, he loved it, and couldn't believe how much. I thank you for your wonderful teaching. Last night I watched you make Okra. Thank goodness I never fried okra before. I would have done it completely wrong. I now feel confident to fry some for my daughter-in-law who loves it. I just wish I was there with you at your side, being your sous chef. Thank you for all the recipes and skills you've shared. This is how I make my chicken and dumplings too. Been doing it for years. I usually start with a whole chicken and take it off the bone but I think I'm gonna try it this way with the pieces to make a little less work! You are the bomb dot com!

I add seasoned my thighs for a couple days and add about an 1/8 cup of white wine, about a 1/2 teaspoon of parsley, thyme & 2 bay leaves & some egg noodles! The water is in proportion to the amount of chicken being cooked. As long as you cover your chicken with water it will be fine. Then you can add more water if your chicken is not completely cooked. However, this will be the best C&D ever!!!!! Thank you for passing me on to your daughter. God Bless.
