I let my chicken soak in water and clean it with some lemons or cap or so of vinegar. That's not washing, that's running it under the sink lol beautiful outcome though. You guys have the good cooking pots.👍🏽
Looking delicious so far 😋 but a little tid bit celery makes a big difference from one home cook to another. I make pretty good chicken and dumplings myself.❤

these will "Puff up" too. usually cookies are round; but cutting the dough into stars doesn't stop it from being a cookie. dumpling is dough that contains flour, water and salt...'DUMPed and cooked in hot liquid (water, grease, or oil) empty and flat, round and stuffed or stuffed oblong...a dumpling is a dumpling!!
I respectfully disagree here in the Carolinas this is chicken pastry. If you want chicken dumplings which I love as well. You make fluffy balls of dough which has a totally different texture and taste. Love them both and make them both. Just depends on your tastes that day . Can think of it as eating gnocchi or eating noodles
I'm sure it's delicious but in my western world that would be called cream of chicken noodle soup or chicken noodle stew. Out here, we roast or fry the chicken, strip and shred the meat, simmer the bones and skin overnight, strain the broth, cook carrots, celery and chopped onion in the broth then add the chicken. After that, we just drop in the fluffy dumpling dough, cook for ten minutes, flip them and in 3 more minutes it's done. The dumplings thicken the broth somewhat. Completely different outcome but just as delicious! It's great seeing how different it is for so many people in our great country. If I liked chicken skin, that's a great idea to crisp it up on the grill. Heres a little tip though that works no matter which dumplings you make. Save your chicken fat every time you make chicken. Its called schmaltz. It can be frozen. Use that in your dumpling recipe instead of oil or bacon fat.
Great recipe....FYI': built up gunk removal from pots: Baking soda paste: Make a paste with baking soda and water, apply to the burnt areas, and scrub gently with a sponge. Vinegar and baking soda: Sprinkle baking soda on the burnt area, then pour vinegar on top to create a fizzing reaction that helps loosen the burnt food. Boiling vinegar: Fill the pan with water and vinegar, bring to a boil, then let it sit for a while before scrubbing. Lemon: Quarter lemons, add to the pan with some water, and boil to loosen burnt food. Salt scrub: Use coarse salt to scrub burnt areas on cast iron cookware. Dishwasher tablet: Soak the burnt pan with a dissolved dishwasher tablet in warm water. Cream of tartar paste: Mix cream of tartar with water to create a paste and apply to the burnt areas.
Have had the dough ball type and hate that kind.My mother in law makesthem like this but with white meat.I dont know anyone who does not like it that way.
Question for the cook.... When making your dumplings, could you have used some of the broth from the cooked chicken instead of from the box? Tks.
It's probably dinnertime and she needed COLD chicken broth for the dumplings. That's probably why she chose the boxed broth.
@@leesareed1468yes you can. I do

I would use all my trimming from vegetables and boil them to make a vegetable broth. You can also save your garlic , onion skins and make powder.

Thank you first of all where you get your pastry mat at I really like that. Measurements of proximity would be nice too.

I'm making dumplings for Christmas. I use a pizza cutter to cut my dumplings. I bet yours are delicious.
22:25 Oh yum!!What time is dinner😂
I’ve never seen onion peelings used
The chicken in skins do best when fried.
Looks delicious, I use a pizza cutter.
Next time might I suggest you flour your skins and fry them
A pizza cutter is a great tool for cutting dumplings!

Well done
Umn, what about all the splashing from the chicken on your plates😮
You need a grill brush
Pennsylvania we call this wet pot pie. Nice recipe. Never added cream before but looks good. We also add a little small diced potatoes. Bon appetite!!
Use skins as a garnish to the chicken and dumplings.
OMG.
You barely wash the meat....
Who's the rude person in the background...talking when you are taping and also sneezing loudly. Grossed me out!
That pot looks terrible though yall!
That pot is not a good look you need to clean up because it looks absolutely disgusting 😑
Please! That’s years of baking/cooking right there. You should see the pots in the restaurant you go to from time to time!
