6:30 Just to add a bit of context, it's not that the modelers went ahead and modeled a face underneath just for the sake of it, it's more likely that these were already existing models that were used as a base for the black mask thugs - hence why they still have a face underneath. On the contrary, Black Mask was a completely unique model, which is why he on the other hand doesn't have a face underneath. The only appearance of black mask without a mask is in cutscenes, meaning he has a model specifically for that. I'm pretty sure most characters have models specifically for cutscenes too, I remember seeing a model zoo and a lot of character models had versions for cutscenes only.
As a game developer, if a model has a fully modeled part covered up (as in Freeze's eyes) it's because the early script probably included a scene where his glasses where off. Modelling and texturing takes time, and nobody's willing to spend that time if it's not necessary. The initial scripts for videogames are huge with a lot of variables, any finished game has LOTS of cut content
Come on dude , almost everyone in the community agrees that Origins is a great game just like the rest. It's only a few people here and there that don't enjoy it and i can understand that. Besides , it sold well too

one interesting thing about the Arkham series that most people don't know about is if you get out of bounds and go through certain doors backward you load an entirely different area than what's supposed to be on the other side of the door.

The technical terms you’ve taught me such as bill boarding and low poly have honestly introduced me to see things I never would’ve have seen, that and the funny things you show behind screen is why you’re one of my favourite game content creators
I LOVE Arkham Origins! Sure, it didn't innovate as much as the other entries, but when I finished Arkham City, I was aching for just more similar gameplay, and Origins provided exactly what I was looking for!
I just wanted to comment to support you doing this. I realize this is a weirder game to do so I just want to make sure I do what I can to teach the algo. Glad you're making more videos.

Just a suggestion but it would be cool to see a boundary break of Ace Attorney Deul Destinies since that game has (at least I think) 3D backgrounds and plus the Apollo Justice trilogy came out a couple of months ago.
I held off from watching this for the sake of spoilers since I recently got this game but sent it to friends to double check and man I can *promise* you that just like Origins itself, this'll be a hidden gem of an episode. So many impractical hidden details in a late ps3/360 game. Nevermind the comedy in this one, it's always a treat to see.
It's because it didn't really do anything that City didn't. However, it's still a great game by itself. We were spoiled back in 2013 and had higher standards.
@@Hwarming My current playthrough has had a number of glitches as well, especially physics glitches or enemies glitching during combat (usually to my detriment). And I genuinely think it has some of the worst level design in the series; some sections are incredibly obtuse or unfair. It also has some of the best bosses in the series, and some of the best story moments. It's been a constant cycle of aggravating me to the point of nearly quitting before something so good happens I wanna forget the bad (but I can't).
Borrowed a lot from City. Less interesting riddler puzzles. No playable second character. Less interesting story tbh. It was just a step down from city.

Was just thinking about this channel *and* the Arkham series earlier for some reason. Great timing. I'm so glad you're still making content despite TH-cam seemingly intentionally targeting you to make it as hard as possible to get the views / revenue that you deserve.
That's crazy that I just recently decided to go back to these games to complete them and now you make a boundary break. The timing is UNREAL. I know he probably went back to Origins because of the new Suicide Squad but still. Lol.
The low res city you showed was called the city LOD, which would extend to a whole city district. Then we had far LODs which were smaller, about the size of a few blocks. The meshes we're made by hand and baked in the editor. Before that it was all the separately and manually placed assets. Getting the revised layout of AC to run was quite a challenge, and much of RS original content had to be optimised!
I hoped you'd cover Arkham Origins for a long time. There's alot of stuff some of the big Arkham channels don't cover. Glad you decided to post this video, though I wish you did a wide shot of Mad Hatter's Wonderland side mission, cause I always wanted to know what that map looked like outside of the restricted camera angles. But everything you covered is fascinating. Lots of A poses & a disturbing skydome are interesting. They did rush this game, so no wonder they covered up unfinished modeling of the Gotham map. Amazing video!
Origins has THE best boss fights in the series, one of the coolest stories, and a really awesome bat suit It only gets shit on cause its not Kevin as Batman
lol no , origins boss fights were just rehashed things from arkham city like deathstroke and copperhead literally using parts of the rais al ghul fight .
To be fair I like origins but I do acknowledge as an Arkham game it has some weaknesses, at least compared to the first two entries. But there's also plenty I do still like about it, I do think it's a bit overhated but now people have the Suicide Squad which is actually a lot worse. lol
I'm learning to make games, and seeing all these develope techniques and hints at how games are made its both entertaining and informative. Thank you shesez.
I just realized that the Black Mask thing actually kind of makes sense lore-wise, since Black Mask's titular mask is supposed to be fused to his face, whereas his goons are just wearing them over their otherwise normal face.
Probably the reason why Batman didn't have the cape during the close up shots of Bruce putting on the suit is because the physics of the cape would have thrown it all around the place as the model switched positions for each shot. So they had to get rid of that during the shots.
