Gordon is by far the best character ever conceived by man because he can’t die when you play as him. How cool is that? Also Officer Owens is a 2nd place cause you can shoot random people like you’re playing GTA V.

Tip for critical hits; the game telling you to press attack again as your punch lands is wrong. Instead; press attack after the animation finishes. So long as you press the button relatively quickly, and dont press it more than once, you'll still get the attack bonus. The Arkham games are very generous with their critical hit windows.
Yeah even when I didn't know the *exact* timing of it I just waited about half a second to a full second between strikes for in AA and AC. For some reason in AK I feel that it was tightend a bit with out the slo mo in free flow focus

So Babs doesn't fight brutes for the same reasons Jason and Harley don't: they are based off of Selina from what I can tell and don't have it in their programming and animations. However, Babs does have ninjas, which the other two don't. Additionally, Babs can't pick up baseball bats like them, but she does have the animations for it in her files. Same thing with Nightwing, who has his line launcher and wrist dart animations in his files.
I also knkw that red hood has railing counters that ignore the invisible walls leading to instant takedowns, he just cant use them because no challenge maps have railings
Well, the guy is almost as powerful as red hood, since he can actually kill a bunch of people without taking a sweat. Even some villains got nerfed down to not be lethal - Harley and Deathstroke are no killers, Catwoman just a prowler and Joker's gun is working very strange, since a clear head shot can send a guard flying, but still make him just unconcious. Owens is no joke - if he has to fight for his vaffles with bacon, no zombie or demon cannot stop him. If it was up to him, Crane would be shot to death in the prologue.

It was more like Catwoman was second worst because her whole gimmick is about ceilings and no other maps have them. Red Hood's gimmick is the guns. Plus his silent takedowns are much faster than Catwoman's. And he has a grapple gun. And Catwoman's vantage point climbing is very slow.
I really hate how Red Hood climbed up the ranks when he's no different than Catwoman and Harley. People really overrate Jason because of the fact he can instantly defeat enemies with his guns.
I never understood that either. He’s not a reskin, he definitely functions entirely different from Robin. Sure, they both use a Bo-staff, but there’s only so many ways you can use it

14:16 Disagree with your placement of Arkham Origins. Point 1: While the shock gloves are overpowered, they are very fun. The idea behind them is that they quite literally are a super-meter where you get to bypass defenses, like a super move or Spartan Rage. This leads to it being incredibly more fun. -Yes, it does trivialize some encounters so that point is accurate, but seeing all the new Helldivers talk raised up a good point in my mind--The goal of balance isn't to perfectly make things easier, it's the create the ideal experience for the player. Yes, it is overpowered, but it didn't stop me from having some of the most intense boss fights, or even normal fights, in other areas of the game. Point 2: The remote claw is not overpowered. It's not amazing in combat aside from giving you a couple of ways to mix up enemies and an insta-takedown if there's a spare explosive canister. (Something notably replicable in Arkham Knight with its' throw features) It's more unique as a predator encounter gadget, in that it opens up a whole world of different uses, and most importantly for me opens up unique traversal opportunities without having to obsessively and slowly line up an angle between buildings with the line launcher. Point about the concussive grenade: *Just kidding!* That point hit the nail on the head. It sucks no matter how you look at it. For me it only had 1 minor use that was intensely situational outside of main mission situations. Point 3: Double takedowns are not overpowered if you're counting Arkham City. In Arkham City, it is literally an available upgrade that you can use. Personally, I ended up using it a lot in the ultra-hard Jokers carnival map a bunch of times. You can't say that Arkham Origins is overpowered compared to Arkham City if they have the same thing. (I will double check this in case of a mistake, but I want to get this all out) Yes, having it in combination with the shock gloves and other elements does lead to overpowered combos--that point IS valid--but the fact that you can do it in AC is valid as well. Point 4: The disrupter is not the best, but with it's auto-aiming and upgradable elements it is miles better than the jammer in Arkham City. The issue with missing is minor and nearly used at best, and the new things that you can disrupt to confuse and fool your enemies is a great improvement. No, it's not as the disrupter in Arkham Knight, but nothing in the previous games is as good in Arkham Knight except for enemy variety. Speaking of... Point 5: You neglected to acknowledge the Bane mini-enemies and the Martial Artists. Those add an extra layer of combat unseen in any of the other Arkham Games, something that not even Arkham Knight capitalized on with it's intense and varied mechanics. And this has to be taken into account because you brought up enemy variety, defenses, and weapons into account. I still don't think it's the best Batman in the games, (Obviously Arkham Knight is better, and City doesn't have any OP problems) but it is miles better than Asylum and the enemy variety adds an interesting layer. (And Arkham Knight Nightwing is not better than it)
Also with the shock gloves, I find that, with most fights, it takes the entire fight to charge, so if I hear the fully charged sound at all it is at the end of the fight where all I can do is watch that hard earned charge drain away pointlessly. It's only really in bigger fights where it comes in very handy.

The darts were so cool! Nightwing could easily have kept the gadgets he was given in Knight, I wouldn’t have complained, but they also could have let him keep using the Line Launcher and Wrist Darts. Why did he ditch them?! Especially the damn darts. Hitting a headshot is actually surprisingly difficult with those, add onto the fact you could shoot three per encounter and, if you can aim well, you get three takedowns completely free. Since multi-use gadgets regenerate during Predator in Knight, though, simply giving Nightwing the ability to only fire one or two darts at a time before they go on cooldown would keep them balanced with his other gadgets.
I love arkham knight Batman, you can see 2 excellent player play the same map with 2 methods not close at all with close result. That why I love this chractere.
How I rank the characters: 17: Harley for the same reasons. She can be kind of fun though. 16: AK Catwoman. For a long time I misremembered how the caltrops were nerfed in this game since I thought it worked the same way in city. She is also hurt by the lack of ceilings. 15: AC Catwoman. Better, but I don't like her traversal at all. I do kind of like her in combat because of good moves like whiptrip and caltrops are better than I remember, but still bad. 14: AK Nightwing. He was nerfed a lot and is missing all his good gadgets, with the only upgrade being getting the Rec gun. 13: Joker. You saying he would be below Asylum Batman is apt, since in combat he works exactly the same. I kind of prefer Joker because of his animations and Mark Hamill. The only real difference is that he has a gun which replaces the quickfire batarangs which instant kills enemies, but can only be used once per round. In predator, I honestly struggle to say whether he's the best or the worst character in the series. Objectively, he's the worst since he doesn't have a grapple, not even the pseudo grapples that Harley and Catwoman have. One of his three gadgets is also detective mode, but you can only use it while standing up perfectly still, so it's terrible. He even takes damage by falling too high as well. But his other two gadgets make him really good. There's still the gun which is still an instant kill and can pass through multiple enemies, but only has one shot. The other gadget is the explosive teeth, which if you use it after using the gun and all his buddies are gathered around the body, it will kill all of them instantly and you can beat any predator room in under a minute. Thankfully, there aren't any medals to earn, which would make things infinitely more difficult if you had to worry about doing objectives like all the other characters, but thankfully there's nothing stopping you from beating the rooms in a minute. 12: AA Batman. This is the most basic Batman is throughout the series, with the least gadgets and not a lot of combat moves. The combat takedowns are also annoying to use since for some reason they are in slow motion, but there's nothing wrong. Just simple compared to what comes later. 11: Bruce Wayne. Bruce is always the strangest character to play in the series since he has a lot of mechanics that aren't explained at all. I don't really know that much about his mechanics, but now I've learned about them through this video and the comments and they are pretty interesting to play with. It's kind of different, and there are some interesting gimmicks, but nothing to really bring you back to playing as him over the other characters. 10: AC Robin. Robin throughout the series always feels the closet to playing Asylum Batman because of the throw and lack of dive bomb. He's always reliable to use, and the staff just feels good to hit people with. He does suffer a bit because there's not a lot of options to deal with shield and stun stick enemies, and the snap flash can be difficult to set up while in combat, but still good. 9: Azrael. Like you said, just AK Batman, but with less moves. Probably the most pointless character in the series. Either he needed to have some new animations or gadget to actually make him stand out, or he needs to actually be a skin for batman if he's basically a skin for batman in a different character slot. He honestly should be up higher a couple spots, but because there's no reason to play as him, I just can't do it. 8: Batgirl. Good. There's not much else to say other than having good gadgets to use in predator, while in combat she just has really good animations. I'm honestly fine not having to worry about brutes while playing as her because they can be kind of annoying. 7: Red Hood. Just feels good to play like you highlighted. The only negative is that you don't really have a smoke bomb equivalent, other than using flash bombs/pistols when you're spotted. I do have to take away points from putting him at a higher spot since not having armored enemies in predator makes them too easy to cheese, and just isn't good game design. I am also kind of spotty for combat since I like good gadget variety, and all Jason has are the pistols that instant kill enemies while giving you few points. The flashbang is just a stun from far away, and while despite having the cool shootdown move it just feels slower than a regular beatdown and is liable to be interrupted. The last gadget is the zip kick and is just business as usual. He just doesn't have anything to do some basic damage from range while keeping you in one place, they all take some commitment or move you. 6: AC Nightwing. You are way too hard on Nightwing because of critical hits. I never have a problem with them because I pay attention to the animations rather than the sound, and it feels pretty easy. He has so many good gadgets to use in both combat and predator that are just great to use in conjunction with each other. He also has great moves to deal with both shield and stun stick enemies with group attack, while armored enemies can be handled with the electric move (forget what it is, other than it does the same thing as the rec gun). 5: AK Robin. He is the only other character besides obviously Batman to be improved from City to Knight. The snap flashes being able to take down enemies along with the explosive gel meaning that you can take out 6 enemies at the start of a predator encounter (which is EXTREMELY satisfying to pull off), on top of having fear takedowns, on top of having the remote hacking device means that Robin is the true stealth expert like what Gotham Knights wanted him to be. He's no slouch in combat either since he's basically unchanged (except for quickfires being switched around for some stupid reason) and he just gets to benefit from the general combat changes Knight gives you. 4: AO Batman. You were WAAAAY to hard on Batman in this game. While he doesn't have a lot of his good gadgets from City, with the useless concussion detonators that make enemies swing around and hit you (when a smoke bomb does the exact same thing), the disruptor that was nerfed to hell in this game, and the glue grenades which are just freeze grenades but gross, he is just City Batman but a little worse. The remote claw isn't nearly as overpowered as you made it out to be, since three instant takedowns can only take you so far. The electric gloves, while being overpowered, are just really fun to use. But I prefer the other character in Origins since he doesn't have any gadgets that are duds. 3: Deathstroke. The best non Batman character in the series, and for good reason. The enchanced combat moves in the game just make it so good to disarm an enemy while taking them out. The gadgets all flow well in combat, and all his animations are just really good. He also possibly has the best detective mode in the series, with it providing a range for mines makes it so much better. I also love being able to instantly rip a vent off like you're using the ultra batclaw, everything just feels good. 2: AC Batman. Do I really need to say more? 1: AK Batman. Do I REALLY need to say more?
I prefer your rank more the one in the video. However, I might swap AC Catwoman since I play City more than Knight and Catwoman moves more fluidly than Knight. I would also swap AO Batman and Deathstroke. Don't get me wrong, Slade is absolutely fun, but I still play Batman more than him.
@@Samuel152 thanks for the compliment. I do kind of think that Origins Batman is better than Deathstroke from a gameplay perspective, but I am more inclined to give him a boost for being such a good alternate character, and because I just prefer using his quickfire gadgets.
Personally, I would rank origins Batman above asylum Batman. Don’t give me wrong on a thematic level. I love that asylum Batman has far less gadgets to work with than the other games because he’s isolated on an island. And of course I do cut him some slack since he was the first playable character in the series so naturally, he’s going to be the starting point that all the others build off of. But on an objective level origins, Batman just has more options for gameplay purposes, so I have to rank him higher personally. (Also, the concussion detonator actually can be fairly useful if you work it into your combat. When you’re in a huge enemy room, it can be useful to throw the gadget to the enemies on the opposite side of the arena and have them take care of each other for a minute while you deal with a more important enemy.)
Okay, could you one day just explain why you don't like Nightwing? I don't mean his gameplay, I mean his character. You're always bringing it up and always feels mean spirited but you don't make it clear if it's Nightwing in general or just the one from the games. Yes him getting taken down by Harley and being captured by Penguin is stupid but other than that he feels pretty on point when it comes to his personality, unlike someone like Tim Drake Robin who they just turned into a Dick Grayson clone in the Arkham games and felt nothing like Tim Drake.
By “bad character” he’s only referring to his gameplay, which is quite limited in comparison to Batman or Robin who are way more versatile. I don’t really understand how this is some big insult against his character and is petty and mean somehow. Can you provide some examples of him bashing Nightwing in this way?

The only one I feel like was unfairly ranked was Origins Batman, only really in relation to who he was lower than. But that's just me. Everyone else seems really fair.
33:17 Fun fact, using the Kujiki bomb in predator actually makes you invisible and undetectable for a short time. As in you can _literally_ run up to enemies’ faces and they won’t detect you. It’s actually great for setting up easy takedowns since you can drop it at any time. Edit: As for martial artists, they’re _very_ easy to deal with. If you attack them in free flow, they’ll always counter it and initiate a counter-counter sequence. This is actually super useful if you’re in a tight spot, since you’re invincible during the sequence and it forces other enemies abort their attacks. If you’re worried about timing the counters on their attacks, just attack them first and you’ll _always_ be met with the counter-counter sequence, which makes them super predictable.
Another thing that makes me dislike Harley is this missed opportunity; If you can only do loud takedowns, why not give her some type of makeshift grappler or maybe her hand cannon from Harley Quinn's Revenge? Give her a rechargeable hand cannon that has 3-4 exploding rounds that kill enemies on impact. That will at least give you options when from a range. Obviously the main con is that the explosion will alert enemies to your position, so you'll need to run, but at least it gives you an option.
I always liked how batgirl kinda pulled from all the other games. Her gadgets are the Asylum Gadgets (if you count the hacking tool as what the cryptographic sequencer ultimately turned into) her unique stealth takedowns and general combat flow coming from City, and the combat feeling fast and fluid from being part of Arkham Knight. To me, she kinda feels like what would happen if you took Asylum Batman, and put him in Knight. Basic Gadgets that are still fun made to work in Knight.
I feel like the only reason it's not as noticeable is because there's a lot more built for Catwoman in that game, so you don't have to use caltrops as a crutch as much. They are super unreliable though, it's annoying :/
I understand what they were going for in maniac mode: you’re playing as a crazy psychopath, of course you’d have a “rampage” mode, but I feel like instead of just takedowns, you got like buffed damage and faster attacks and invulnerability, maybe

I find it interesting how every other character seems to be ranked by "strength" while Origins Batman is near the bottom for the exact opposite reason, of being too strong. Like objectively speaking, Asylum Batman is weaker, even in comparison to the Asylum enemies, as there are small quality of life things he's missing, like no ground pound unless it's a takedown, obviously limited gadgets, but you could give it a pass, no multi-takedown, even though he debatably could've used it the most with being the one who regularly fights titans, and even down to slower and more sluggish animations that lead to a lot more situations where you'll be trapped in either a counter animation, and be hit by a titan or knife guy, or a strike animation, and not be able to counter at all. It especially feels like a bias placement considering how high Red Hood is. (Admittedly I love Red Hood too, but my point is inconsistency when it comes to more powerful or higher ceiling characters, especially given the possibility City almost won over Knight for the same reason.) Origins Batman being low for being too powerful feels a bit inconsistent, but hey, it's not my list. It just seems inconsistent is all, like I can't tell if this was primarily put together by power, balancing, personal preference, or some combination. Like none of that would be bad by any means, it's just a bit confusing for some characters to be high for one reason, while others are low for the same reason, I almost feel like this could've been multiple videos, one for pure strength/practicality, one for enjoyment, one for balance- Or maybe even split up across predator/combat sections.
if you don't wanna buy return to arkham, you can just enable the joker DLC in the files of the PC Version. It was ORIGINALLY A PS3 exclusive but you can change something in the INI file and enable the joker DLC. EDIT: I haven't played or purchased return to arkham and don't see a point in getting it because I have the original games. Because of that, I Don't actively see a point in buying the remaster seeing as I'm a frugal gamer with not much money to go around. However, specifically because I have only seen gameplay of these games via looking up riddler guides among other things, I also don't really have an opinion on remasters I have not played. I don't hate the remaster, it's just not for me when I already have the OG games to play at my leisure. All I was doing is just explaining that you can enable the PS3 exclusive content on PC with a changing of settings technically without mods needed, much like pressing a button on the WII U Software that turns on the ability to play gamecube games or otherwise and to tell Clown Puncher to get his jonkler on.
I have Return to Arkham and it isn't as bad as he believes/says it to be. I think he is being unnecessarily harsh to something he HASN'T played. It is one thing that annoys me about him. He talks about Return to Arkham as if it is the worst thing on Earth when it isn't.
I recommend checking out the Asylum Reborn mod on PC. It's the definitive version of Arkham Asylum in terms of configuration options. You can even get the PS3 exclusive maps. All you need is legitimate copy of the game.

Plus both remastered versions of Asylum and City have the “Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger” title cards at the beginning. No way you're saying Knight Catwoman is worse than City Catwoman when Knight Catwoman has FOUR armor bars compared to City's two.😭 And the quickfire Bolas was so inconsistent in City that when I used that in combat sometimes my combo would randomly drop, whilst in Knight I never had those problems 😭

They really should’ve given Catwoman at least one new gadget to make her more playable in Arkham Knight. Heck, here’s an idea, you can throw the remote control Batarang at any character that you play during a dual combat section and they will catch the battering and put it into their pocket. Imagine if performing this my new detail gave the character access to the remote control Batarang for their predator encounters in that safe file. This would give you at least a little more variety for characters like Catwoman, who desperately need it. Alternatively, if you want a gadget exclusive to Selena, how about a sonar device that will attract a single henchman to a location, kind of like the sonic Batarang. At least then you would have some control of where henchman are going.
@@sugondeez1708you're right, but even still tara strong's harley voice is a lot more grating than arleen sorkin's. ms. sorkin, being the original voice of the character, had a more natural tone and wouldn't usually yell as much.
You're honestly not missing much with Joker in Return to Arkham. He has detective mode but worse because you can't move around with it, gets a moveable jack-in-the-box equivalent where he is completely vulnerable while using it, and has basically the most bare-bones quickfire gadgets possible. The only saving grace is that he has a gun which leads to insta-killing enemies in predator. The problem is that it only has 1 bullet, making it garbage in predator and somehow even more garbage in combat with the sheer amount of enemies you have to contend with. He's honestly tied with Harley for worst playable character in the franchise.
I used to think Joker was pretty bad. Then I learned that you can just sneak up on one guy, shoot him, causing everyone to run to your current location, run away, use the chattering teeth to get an easy 5 kills while they inspect the body.
Idk if someone else said this, but the kujiki bombs make Bruce functionally invisible, meaning enemies won’t detect him until he interacts with something in predator.
Catwoman is pretty bad in knight, but her speed in city is god tier and it still makes her playable in knight. At least for me. I love using her on those infinite spawn maps because you can literally bounce from enemy to enemy without coming close to getting interrupted.
I respect your opinion with a lot of these and I know this is all biased but Harley as the worst character is debatable since unlike Azreal and Knight's version of Nightwing she's actually unique You also should've talked about how she gets her maniac mode which is by building up combos and using takedowns which makes getting it a bit rewarding As for her predator maps, you make it sound like the enemies are gonna be there immediately after you perform a loud take down I mean its not like they have the speed force, also her not being able to climb gargoyles is something that adds more difficulty to the levels so you have to strategize more I actually figured that out when I played Joker on Return to Arkham Asylum anyways yeah but yeah other than that I love your channel and keep up the good work

It's nothing, but it still bugs me a LOT that in predator the guys you kill as Red Hood are unconscious and able to be revived by medics. Like seriously it just ruins my day.
I wish Rocksteady used the ninja's more in Arkham Knight combat challenges especilly since, Red Hood and Harley can't fight them and it would have been so cool to bring back the Martial Artist!

26:02 honestly I feel like him having the bat claw makes more sense than the zip kick thematically, Grayson as a character has fully liberated himself from the role of Robin, even when begged to return to the mantle by Tim in the comics he refuses because that’s just not who he is or wants to be anymore. The zip kick as a gadget in these games is heavily tied to the Robin persona so it makes sense that he wouldn’t have it. I also think that this choice contrasts really well with Red hood in this game as the role of Robin was brutally stripped from him so it makes sense that we would see he still has some sort of connection to it via the gameplay 🤓👆

I’m sorry, but you put Arkham Origins Batman near the bottom of the list… because he is Boring? Because he has the remote claw and shock gloves? Yes, don’t use them as often. As for the disruptor, yes the developers messed up. It’s still usable if you are careful and have the opponent in view (Arkham City’s disruptor also had a heavy time delay). As for the concussion detonator, I don’t mind it. It acts more as a contained and reusable smoke pellet but with just the stun. Great video. I personally prefer Knight Catwoman to city Catwoman because she is much faster in Knight and Knight maps are much bigger, making it so her slow animations don't get you caught as much.
Playable Joker is actually much less than Arkham Asylum Batman. In combat maos they're 95% the same, but in predator Joker only has 1 or 2 takedowns and he has the same issue as Catwomen where his animations are insanely slow for no good reason. Not to mention his version of detective mode can only be used when standing completely still, making the tool more of a hindrance than useful most of the time.

My biggest issue with Arkham Knight Batman is that it renders the Batclaw ineffective. In Asylum, City, and Origins, you could use the Batclaw to pull enemies off of ledges. You could use a speeding Remote Batarang to launch enemies off of ledges. In Knight? All of that was taken away. As someone that enjoys Predator more, losing that part of the gameplay is really bothersome.

I used to be absolutely trash at critical strikes from Asylum till halfway through City. What finally got me to figure it out was the Mad Hatter mission with the ticking clock, then I noticed all my critical strikes were in time with the clock.
clownpuncher im a bit late but basically the kujiki bomb works as a invisible cloak as when you use it your invisible with purple smoke coming out of you until you do a slient takedown so its basically used for either a average smoke bomb or its used to give a cheeky silent takedown

Tip for critical hits; the game telling you to press attack again as your punch lands is wrong.
Instead; press attack after the animation finishes. So long as you press the button relatively quickly, and dont press it more than once, you'll still get the attack bonus.

So Babs doesn't fight brutes for the same reasons Jason and Harley don't: they are based off of Selina from what I can tell and don't have it in their programming and animations. However, Babs does have ninjas, which the other two don't.
Additionally, Babs can't pick up baseball bats like them, but she does have the animations for it in her files. Same thing with Nightwing, who has his line launcher and wrist dart animations in his files.
I also knkw that red hood has railing counters that ignore the invisible walls leading to instant takedowns, he just cant use them because no challenge maps have railings

Well, the guy is almost as powerful as red hood, since he can actually kill a bunch of people without taking a sweat. Even some villains got nerfed down to not be lethal - Harley and Deathstroke are no killers, Catwoman just a prowler and Joker's gun is working very strange, since a clear head shot can send a guard flying, but still make him just unconcious.
Owens is no joke - if he has to fight for his vaffles with bacon, no zombie or demon cannot stop him. If it was up to him, Crane would be shot to death in the prologue.

Yeah well, as he said, he will probably ignore you. Unfortunately, he has become really thin-skinned lately when it comes to criticism. He wasn't always like that, but he allowed trolls to get to him and turn him defensive.
It was more like Catwoman was second worst because her whole gimmick is about ceilings and no other maps have them. Red Hood's gimmick is the guns. Plus his silent takedowns are much faster than Catwoman's. And he has a grapple gun. And Catwoman's vantage point climbing is very slow.

14:16 Disagree with your placement of Arkham Origins.
Point 1: While the shock gloves are overpowered, they are very fun. The idea behind them is that they quite literally are a super-meter where you get to bypass defenses, like a super move or Spartan Rage. This leads to it being incredibly more fun.
-Yes, it does trivialize some encounters so that point is accurate, but seeing all the new Helldivers talk raised up a good point in my mind--The goal of balance isn't to perfectly make things easier, it's the create the ideal experience for the player. Yes, it is overpowered, but it didn't stop me from having some of the most intense boss fights, or even normal fights, in other areas of the game.
Point 2: The remote claw is not overpowered. It's not amazing in combat aside from giving you a couple of ways to mix up enemies and an insta-takedown if there's a spare explosive canister. (Something notably replicable in Arkham Knight with its' throw features) It's more unique as a predator encounter gadget, in that it opens up a whole world of different uses, and most importantly for me opens up unique traversal opportunities without having to obsessively and slowly line up an angle between buildings with the line launcher.
Point about the concussive grenade: *Just kidding!* That point hit the nail on the head. It sucks no matter how you look at it. For me it only had 1 minor use that was intensely situational outside of main mission situations.
Point 3: Double takedowns are not overpowered if you're counting Arkham City. In Arkham City, it is literally an available upgrade that you can use. Personally, I ended up using it a lot in the ultra-hard Jokers carnival map a bunch of times. You can't say that Arkham Origins is overpowered compared to Arkham City if they have the same thing. (I will double check this in case of a mistake, but I want to get this all out) Yes, having it in combination with the shock gloves and other elements does lead to overpowered combos--that point IS valid--but the fact that you can do it in AC is valid as well.
Point 4: The disrupter is not the best, but with it's auto-aiming and upgradable elements it is miles better than the jammer in Arkham City. The issue with missing is minor and nearly used at best, and the new things that you can disrupt to confuse and fool your enemies is a great improvement. No, it's not as the disrupter in Arkham Knight, but nothing in the previous games is as good in Arkham Knight except for enemy variety. Speaking of...
Point 5: You neglected to acknowledge the Bane mini-enemies and the Martial Artists. Those add an extra layer of combat unseen in any of the other Arkham Games, something that not even Arkham Knight capitalized on with it's intense and varied mechanics. And this has to be taken into account because you brought up enemy variety, defenses, and weapons into account.
I still don't think it's the best Batman in the games, (Obviously Arkham Knight is better, and City doesn't have any OP problems) but it is miles better than Asylum and the enemy variety adds an interesting layer. (And Arkham Knight Nightwing is not better than it)

Also with the shock gloves, I find that, with most fights, it takes the entire fight to charge, so if I hear the fully charged sound at all it is at the end of the fight where all I can do is watch that hard earned charge drain away pointlessly. It's only really in bigger fights where it comes in very handy.

The darts were so cool! Nightwing could easily have kept the gadgets he was given in Knight, I wouldn’t have complained, but they also could have let him keep using the Line Launcher and Wrist Darts. Why did he ditch them?! Especially the damn darts. Hitting a headshot is actually surprisingly difficult with those, add onto the fact you could shoot three per encounter and, if you can aim well, you get three takedowns completely free. Since multi-use gadgets regenerate during Predator in Knight, though, simply giving Nightwing the ability to only fire one or two darts at a time before they go on cooldown would keep them balanced with his other gadgets.
I love arkham knight Batman, you can see 2 excellent player play the same map with 2 methods not close at all with close result. That why I love this chractere.
How I rank the characters:
17: Harley for the same reasons. She can be kind of fun though.
16: AK Catwoman. For a long time I misremembered how the caltrops were nerfed in this game since I thought it worked the same way in city. She is also hurt by the lack of ceilings.
15: AC Catwoman. Better, but I don't like her traversal at all. I do kind of like her in combat because of good moves like whiptrip and caltrops are better than I remember, but still bad.
14: AK Nightwing. He was nerfed a lot and is missing all his good gadgets, with the only upgrade being getting the Rec gun.
13: Joker. You saying he would be below Asylum Batman is apt, since in combat he works exactly the same. I kind of prefer Joker because of his animations and Mark Hamill. The only real difference is that he has a gun which replaces the quickfire batarangs which instant kills enemies, but can only be used once per round. In predator, I honestly struggle to say whether he's the best or the worst character in the series. Objectively, he's the worst since he doesn't have a grapple, not even the pseudo grapples that Harley and Catwoman have. One of his three gadgets is also detective mode, but you can only use it while standing up perfectly still, so it's terrible. He even takes damage by falling too high as well. But his other two gadgets make him really good. There's still the gun which is still an instant kill and can pass through multiple enemies, but only has one shot. The other gadget is the explosive teeth, which if you use it after using the gun and all his buddies are gathered around the body, it will kill all of them instantly and you can beat any predator room in under a minute. Thankfully, there aren't any medals to earn, which would make things infinitely more difficult if you had to worry about doing objectives like all the other characters, but thankfully there's nothing stopping you from beating the rooms in a minute.
12: AA Batman. This is the most basic Batman is throughout the series, with the least gadgets and not a lot of combat moves. The combat takedowns are also annoying to use since for some reason they are in slow motion, but there's nothing wrong. Just simple compared to what comes later.
11: Bruce Wayne. Bruce is always the strangest character to play in the series since he has a lot of mechanics that aren't explained at all. I don't really know that much about his mechanics, but now I've learned about them through this video and the comments and they are pretty interesting to play with. It's kind of different, and there are some interesting gimmicks, but nothing to really bring you back to playing as him over the other characters.
10: AC Robin. Robin throughout the series always feels the closet to playing Asylum Batman because of the throw and lack of dive bomb. He's always reliable to use, and the staff just feels good to hit people with. He does suffer a bit because there's not a lot of options to deal with shield and stun stick enemies, and the snap flash can be difficult to set up while in combat, but still good.
9: Azrael. Like you said, just AK Batman, but with less moves. Probably the most pointless character in the series. Either he needed to have some new animations or gadget to actually make him stand out, or he needs to actually be a skin for batman if he's basically a skin for batman in a different character slot. He honestly should be up higher a couple spots, but because there's no reason to play as him, I just can't do it.
8: Batgirl. Good. There's not much else to say other than having good gadgets to use in predator, while in combat she just has really good animations. I'm honestly fine not having to worry about brutes while playing as her because they can be kind of annoying.
7: Red Hood. Just feels good to play like you highlighted. The only negative is that you don't really have a smoke bomb equivalent, other than using flash bombs/pistols when you're spotted. I do have to take away points from putting him at a higher spot since not having armored enemies in predator makes them too easy to cheese, and just isn't good game design. I am also kind of spotty for combat since I like good gadget variety, and all Jason has are the pistols that instant kill enemies while giving you few points. The flashbang is just a stun from far away, and while despite having the cool shootdown move it just feels slower than a regular beatdown and is liable to be interrupted. The last gadget is the zip kick and is just business as usual. He just doesn't have anything to do some basic damage from range while keeping you in one place, they all take some commitment or move you.
6: AC Nightwing. You are way too hard on Nightwing because of critical hits. I never have a problem with them because I pay attention to the animations rather than the sound, and it feels pretty easy. He has so many good gadgets to use in both combat and predator that are just great to use in conjunction with each other. He also has great moves to deal with both shield and stun stick enemies with group attack, while armored enemies can be handled with the electric move (forget what it is, other than it does the same thing as the rec gun).
5: AK Robin. He is the only other character besides obviously Batman to be improved from City to Knight. The snap flashes being able to take down enemies along with the explosive gel meaning that you can take out 6 enemies at the start of a predator encounter (which is EXTREMELY satisfying to pull off), on top of having fear takedowns, on top of having the remote hacking device means that Robin is the true stealth expert like what Gotham Knights wanted him to be. He's no slouch in combat either since he's basically unchanged (except for quickfires being switched around for some stupid reason) and he just gets to benefit from the general combat changes Knight gives you.
4: AO Batman. You were WAAAAY to hard on Batman in this game. While he doesn't have a lot of his good gadgets from City, with the useless concussion detonators that make enemies swing around and hit you (when a smoke bomb does the exact same thing), the disruptor that was nerfed to hell in this game, and the glue grenades which are just freeze grenades but gross, he is just City Batman but a little worse. The remote claw isn't nearly as overpowered as you made it out to be, since three instant takedowns can only take you so far. The electric gloves, while being overpowered, are just really fun to use. But I prefer the other character in Origins since he doesn't have any gadgets that are duds.
3: Deathstroke. The best non Batman character in the series, and for good reason. The enchanced combat moves in the game just make it so good to disarm an enemy while taking them out. The gadgets all flow well in combat, and all his animations are just really good. He also possibly has the best detective mode in the series, with it providing a range for mines makes it so much better. I also love being able to instantly rip a vent off like you're using the ultra batclaw, everything just feels good.

Personally, I would rank origins Batman above asylum Batman.
Don’t give me wrong on a thematic level. I love that asylum Batman has far less gadgets to work with than the other games because he’s isolated on an island.
And of course I do cut him some slack since he was the first playable character in the series so naturally, he’s going to be the starting point that all the others build off of.
But on an objective level origins, Batman just has more options for gameplay purposes, so I have to rank him higher personally.
(Also, the concussion detonator actually can be fairly useful if you work it into your combat. When you’re in a huge enemy room, it can be useful to throw the gadget to the enemies on the opposite side of the arena and have them take care of each other for a minute while you deal with a more important enemy.)

Okay, could you one day just explain why you don't like Nightwing? I don't mean his gameplay, I mean his character. You're always bringing it up and always feels mean spirited but you don't make it clear if it's Nightwing in general or just the one from the games. Yes him getting taken down by Harley and being captured by Penguin is stupid but other than that he feels pretty on point when it comes to his personality, unlike someone like Tim Drake Robin who they just turned into a Dick Grayson clone in the Arkham games and felt nothing like Tim Drake.

33:17 Fun fact, using the Kujiki bomb in predator actually makes you invisible and undetectable for a short time. As in you can _literally_ run up to enemies’ faces and they won’t detect you. It’s actually great for setting up easy takedowns since you can drop it at any time.
Edit: As for martial artists, they’re _very_ easy to deal with. If you attack them in free flow, they’ll always counter it and initiate a counter-counter sequence. This is actually super useful if you’re in a tight spot, since you’re invincible during the sequence and it forces other enemies abort their attacks. If you’re worried about timing the counters on their attacks, just attack them first and you’ll _always_ be met with the counter-counter sequence, which makes them super predictable.
Another thing that makes me dislike Harley is this missed opportunity; If you can only do loud takedowns, why not give her some type of makeshift grappler or maybe her hand cannon from Harley Quinn's Revenge? Give her a rechargeable hand cannon that has 3-4 exploding rounds that kill enemies on impact. That will at least give you options when from a range. Obviously the main con is that the explosion will alert enemies to your position, so you'll need to run, but at least it gives you an option.
I always liked how batgirl kinda pulled from all the other games. Her gadgets are the Asylum Gadgets (if you count the hacking tool as what the cryptographic sequencer ultimately turned into) her unique stealth takedowns and general combat flow coming from City, and the combat feeling fast and fluid from being part of Arkham Knight. To me, she kinda feels like what would happen if you took Asylum Batman, and put him in Knight. Basic Gadgets that are still fun made to work in Knight.
The Caltrops issue is something I ran into A LOT in City too
I feel like the only reason it's not as noticeable is because there's a lot more built for Catwoman in that game, so you don't have to use caltrops as a crutch as much. They are super unreliable though, it's annoying :/

Like objectively speaking, Asylum Batman is weaker, even in comparison to the Asylum enemies, as there are small quality of life things he's missing, like no ground pound unless it's a takedown, obviously limited gadgets, but you could give it a pass, no multi-takedown, even though he debatably could've used it the most with being the one who regularly fights titans, and even down to slower and more sluggish animations that lead to a lot more situations where you'll be trapped in either a counter animation, and be hit by a titan or knife guy, or a strike animation, and not be able to counter at all.
It especially feels like a bias placement considering how high Red Hood is. (Admittedly I love Red Hood too, but my point is inconsistency when it comes to more powerful or higher ceiling characters, especially given the possibility City almost won over Knight for the same reason.)
Origins Batman being low for being too powerful feels a bit inconsistent, but hey, it's not my list.
It just seems inconsistent is all, like I can't tell if this was primarily put together by power, balancing, personal preference, or some combination.
Like none of that would be bad by any means, it's just a bit confusing for some characters to be high for one reason, while others are low for the same reason, I almost feel like this could've been multiple videos, one for pure strength/practicality, one for enjoyment, one for balance-
Or maybe even split up across predator/combat sections.
Small thing: the fear multi takedown can actually give you 6 knockouts if you use a double takedown to start it off

if you don't wanna buy return to arkham, you can just enable the joker DLC in the files of the PC Version. It was ORIGINALLY A PS3 exclusive but you can change something in the INI file and enable the joker DLC.
EDIT: I haven't played or purchased return to arkham and don't see a point in getting it because I have the original games. Because of that, I Don't actively see a point in buying the remaster seeing as I'm a frugal gamer with not much money to go around. However, specifically because I have only seen gameplay of these games via looking up riddler guides among other things, I also don't really have an opinion on remasters I have not played.
I don't hate the remaster, it's just not for me when I already have the OG games to play at my leisure.
All I was doing is just explaining that you can enable the PS3 exclusive content on PC with a changing of settings technically without mods needed, much like pressing a button on the WII U Software that turns on the ability to play gamecube games or otherwise and to tell Clown Puncher to get his jonkler on.
I have Return to Arkham and it isn't as bad as he believes/says it to be. I think he is being unnecessarily harsh to something he HASN'T played. It is one thing that annoys me about him. He talks about Return to Arkham as if it is the worst thing on Earth when it isn't.
I recommend checking out the Asylum Reborn mod on PC. It's the definitive version of Arkham Asylum in terms of configuration options. You can even get the PS3 exclusive maps. All you need is legitimate copy of the game.

@@thephoenixxm4160 Dude I think it stupid how many people dislike the Return to Arkham remasters. Especially Arkham Asylum. Arkham City is fine but Arkham Asylum looks amazing. The models look so much better, the game in general looks much better, the content that was exclusive to the PlayStation 3 version are in for every port, and plus there’s rain. Plus both remastered versions of Asylum and City have the “Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger” title cards at the beginning.

No way you're saying Knight Catwoman is worse than City Catwoman when Knight Catwoman has FOUR armor bars compared to City's two.😭 And the quickfire Bolas was so inconsistent in City that when I used that in combat sometimes my combo would randomly drop, whilst in Knight I never had those problems 😭

They really should’ve given Catwoman at least one new gadget to make her more playable in Arkham Knight.
Heck, here’s an idea, you can throw the remote control Batarang at any character that you play during a dual combat section and they will catch the battering and put it into their pocket.
Imagine if performing this my new detail gave the character access to the remote control Batarang for their predator encounters in that safe file.
This would give you at least a little more variety for characters like Catwoman, who desperately need it.
Alternatively, if you want a gadget exclusive to Selena, how about a sonar device that will attract a single henchman to a location, kind of like the sonic Batarang. At least then you would have some control of where henchman are going.
Better then that, give her a lazer pointer to draw someone's attention, destroy cameras, and let her play her with kitties

You're honestly not missing much with Joker in Return to Arkham. He has detective mode but worse because you can't move around with it, gets a moveable jack-in-the-box equivalent where he is completely vulnerable while using it, and has basically the most bare-bones quickfire gadgets possible.
The only saving grace is that he has a gun which leads to insta-killing enemies in predator. The problem is that it only has 1 bullet, making it garbage in predator and somehow even more garbage in combat with the sheer amount of enemies you have to contend with.
He's honestly tied with Harley for worst playable character in the franchise.
Funny thing about jokers gun, is that joker actually has a reload animation for it that does work if you use console commands to nake it work
I used to think Joker was pretty bad. Then I learned that you can just sneak up on one guy, shoot him, causing everyone to run to your current location, run away, use the chattering teeth to get an easy 5 kills while they inspect the body.

Catwoman is pretty bad in knight, but her speed in city is god tier and it still makes her playable in knight. At least for me. I love using her on those infinite spawn maps because you can literally bounce from enemy to enemy without coming close to getting interrupted.

You also should've talked about how she gets her maniac mode which is by building up combos and using takedowns which makes getting it a bit rewarding
As for her predator maps, you make it sound like the enemies are gonna be there immediately after you perform a loud take down I mean its not like they have the speed force, also her not being able to climb gargoyles is something that adds more difficulty to the levels so you have to strategize more I actually figured that out when I played Joker on Return to Arkham Asylum anyways yeah but yeah other than that I love your channel and keep up the good work

26:02 honestly I feel like him having the bat claw makes more sense than the zip kick thematically, Grayson as a character has fully liberated himself from the role of Robin, even when begged to return to the mantle by Tim in the comics he refuses because that’s just not who he is or wants to be anymore. The zip kick as a gadget in these games is heavily tied to the Robin persona so it makes sense that he wouldn’t have it. I also think that this choice contrasts really well with Red hood in this game as the role of Robin was brutally stripped from him so it makes sense that we would see he still has some sort of connection to it via the gameplay 🤓👆

I’m sorry, but you put Arkham Origins Batman near the bottom of the list… because he is Boring? Because he has the remote claw and shock gloves? Yes, don’t use them as often. As for the disruptor, yes the developers messed up. It’s still usable if you are careful and have the opponent in view (Arkham City’s disruptor also had a heavy time delay). As for the concussion detonator, I don’t mind it. It acts more as a contained and reusable smoke pellet but with just the stun. It also can be manually detonated (press quick fire twice) to range stun an enemy. Is Origins Batman the best? No, but I also don’t think he’s useless or boring. Sorry
Great video. I personally prefer Knight Catwoman to city Catwoman because she is much faster in Knight and Knight maps are much bigger, making it so her slow animations don't get you caught as much.
There is one more map in Arkham Knight where Catwoman can leap to the ceiling: The Bat Cave.

Playable Joker is actually much less than Arkham Asylum Batman. In combat maos they're 95% the same, but in predator Joker only has 1 or 2 takedowns and he has the same issue as Catwomen where his animations are insanely slow for no good reason. Not to mention his version of detective mode can only be used when standing completely still, making the tool more of a hindrance than useful most of the time.

My biggest issue with Arkham Knight Batman is that it renders the Batclaw ineffective.
In Asylum, City, and Origins, you could use the Batclaw to pull enemies off of ledges. You could use a speeding Remote Batarang to launch enemies off of ledges.
In Knight? All of that was taken away. As someone that enjoys Predator more, losing that part of the gameplay is really bothersome.

I used to be absolutely trash at critical strikes from Asylum till halfway through City. What finally got me to figure it out was the Mad Hatter mission with the ticking clock, then I noticed all my critical strikes were in time with the clock.
clownpuncher im a bit late but basically the kujiki bomb works as a invisible cloak as when you use it your invisible with purple smoke coming out of you until you do a slient takedown so its basically used for either a average smoke bomb or its used to give a cheeky silent takedown
