10:51 Joker would totally hire Lester. Throwing in a complete joke of an assassin alongside seven of the most dangerous in the world? Mr. J would find it hilarious.
My take is that Lester isn’t a bad fighter, he’s just drastically worse than Batman. And this is early Batman so the villains can’t really scale him yet
Haven't seen anyone else say this, so I'll put it here. Amadeus Arkham's story of killing the man who killed his family is kind of a parallel to the story of Batman and Joker in these games especially. Amadeus met "Mad Dog" Hawkins when trying to cure him of his murderous tendencies. These attempts caused Hawkins to develop an obsession with the one who kept trying to "fix" him. Similarly, Joker began his obsession with Batman when the Dark Knight refused to kill him, repeatedly sending him to Blackgate and later the Asylum to get psychological help instead. "Mad Dog" eventually escaped the Asylum and murdered Amadeus' family. Joker repeatedly escaped with little to no difficulty and, among the many crimes he committed over the years, crippled Barbara Gordon and "killed" Jason Todd, who were members of the Bat-Family. Amadeus murdered Hawkins in revenge for the deaths of his family. We'll never know for sure whether or not Batman would have saved Joker that day in Arkham City. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but the two stories sound similar to me.
Another detail I thought of: Amadeus opened the Asylum because he was inspired by his mother, who he had euthanized because of her dementia. Who else do we know whose motivation comes from their parents?
He didn’t “kill” Jason. He killed Jason. Jason was very, very dead, canonically, for quite a few years. Wayne Family Adventures actually jokes how everyone but Duke has canonically died and got better lol
When Batman lists the diagnosis of Riddler, he does it to prove a point to Selina that Edward is this obsessive person. He often figures out that Bruce is Batman, yet dismisses all evidence because he doesn't want to believe a playboy billionaire is able to beat him. Batman trying to stroke Edwards ego may work initially but he would start to question it and see it for a trap. The reason why he is so dangerous is his inability to let it go. He must defeat Batman and he has to do it his way, not just win but humiliate Batman along the way.
I totally agree. If Batman conceded, Riddler would instantly be suspicious. Even if not, I dont think he'd accept such a hollow victory. He needs the drama to go with it 😂
5:08 I’d like to believe it was supposed to be the drone commander who you always hear during the tanks battles. After all of his equipment is trashed he has to go handle it himself.
About #2, We see in Arkham Shadow that Ratcatcher was born 4/20/1988 when Barbra brings up his records (BAV's full game video 4:04:38), so it physically can NOT be in the 90s as Otis would only be a child and not a fully grown man with greying hair
I always eat Arkham Batman content up bc this universe is so rich with lore and it’s takes on characters (not always). Riddler becoming “good” if he got told by Batman he is better than him I don’t think that would last long bc he would feel that it wasn’t genuine.
@@pramudyamaulana6969Actually in comics he gave up on being Riddler when he realised he is done proving it to Batman ... He gives up life of crime ... So yes if Batman genuinely admits it he is gonna leave the life of crime ... Won't become good but retire.
Batman even mentioned his diagnose, you don't "cure" a bad guy who is mentaly ill just saying "hey, you are better than me" hahahha. Riddler is a great character because there are many layers to him,, and as you mentioned he already showed that insanity before Batman
@@MatheusYami*He’s also a safe character. A character that’s never in danger.. put him n bronze tiger in a room together where only 1 lives n somehow he’d still end up winning.. I like some parts of the character but fuck that character n all like it*
I have a Small Theory: Joker got Clayface to Pretend to be Jason Todd in the Video he Kills him In. It was all Staged because if Batman thought Jason was Dead he wouldn't try to find him, So Joker could keep Torturing the Real Jason
Go ahead and read Arkham Knight Genesis. It's only semi-cannon but it does explain Jason's supposed death. Honestly tho your theory makes more sense then the comic
In the cancelled Damien Wayne game wasn’t one of the villains black masks daughter? As she was shown with dr elements! Black Mask and Young might’ve had a kid. It probably explains why black mask was so eager to leave Arkham city! (As you can see where he breaks out of Arkham City in game)!
If you ask me, Batman admitting Riddler is better than him wouldn't work because either: 1. Riddler would convince himself that Batman doesn't mean it (which he might be right but either way he won't believe it until he gets a definitive win by making Batman fail a hostage puzzle or something) 2. He'll just move his obsession with being the smartest to someone else, potentially someone less capable, causing more harm than if he stayed obsessed with Batman and perpetuating the cycle
Damn. I didn’t know the electrocutioner was 24 in the game. Kinda makes me feel bad for him in a way because he was wasting his youth doing the wrong thing and got killed for it.
About the Riddler. I feel like even if Batman were to say something like, "Okay Riddler, you win, you're more intelligent than I am." It simply wouldnt satisfy the Riddler. Nigma wants to prove he's better by outsmarting or blatently killing the Batman, so Batman simply saying Riddler is better wouldnt be enough for him to feel superior. Even then, Batman can't let Riddler win because it would innevitably end with the deaths of innocent people or Batman's death. Thats just what I think though, maybe he would could be a better person.
In regards to the Deathstroke one, I swear to god I remember reading at the time of Knight’s release that WB & Rocksteady didn’t really communicate during development - and that’s why Knight got delayed. They tried to shoe-horn in a few of their villains from Origins, hence the Zsasz mission being cut and Firefly/Deathstroke being shoved in
It's supposed to be an Easter Egg to BTAS because the series is set in an alternate timeline where everyone dresses like they're in the 40s but they also have modern technology. My guess is the date on the plaque is because the Arkham games carry on BTAS. It only makes sense to set the timeline in a nebulous era set somewhere between the 1940s and the 1990s or whatever.
It ABSOLUTELY does not. What a completely WEAK proof too. Jesus Christ, does he realize that year numbers CAN come in four digits? And the sign starts WITH A NUMBER 1, NOT 9 😂😂😂 That entry just blew my mind, like how can someone see that and come to that conclusion, just baffles me.
I personally feel like the surgery Tommy was talking about was unrelated or just kinda a reference to the Arkham city twins.Idk there’s so many inconsistencies with the Arkham timeline so it could be either or. I’d like it think it is related to the twins
I don’t think Riddler would become a good guy if Batman says “Riddler is better than him” because in AA interview tapes it’s mentioned how Riddler killed multiple innocent people with his riddles and his excuse was that “they should’ve been smarter”
3:42 i believe that the commander thats always talking along the knight in drone fights was meant for that role, maybe he would be wearing a more armored suit like a blend of the brutes and regular soldiers. would make sense to me too, hes so angry at batman all game but it just goes nowhere to the point he even disappears post-story
one of my theories is that riddler and thomas elliot were in contact, and i think tommy helped riddler put the minibombs in the rioters in arkham knight.
@@gundhamtanaka9487 eddie says he told the rioters they have brain cancer and they underwent an operation they thought was removing the tumor, which kinda implies the riddler teamed up with an actual doctor to do it and tommy would fit certainly
I would say Leslie dies before knight but is probably alive in the other games, Her help in Shadow was a very specific situation in the other games I don't see what she could offer. In Asylum she is not in the Asylum She is likely not in Arkham City Knight is the only one that you can see her sticking around to help but if she is alive she is likely quite old and infirm at that point as she is in the animated series she could have evacuated. But based on her character I would say she would insist on sticking around so I agree she likely has passed on by then.
About the second theory,Gotham is an OLD city. Most of the infrastructure isn’t exactly something up to date with the rest of the world. The asylum is a wonderful example of this, it has tech but the building is old.
Totally irrelevant comment. The sign literally says "Arkham City" on it, which wasn't built until after Asylum's story, meaning anything before City can't be any further in the future than 1999.
@HOTD108_ personally, I think it is 1997 or a little bit after because that was the time BTAS was taking place Edit: I meant The New Batman Adventures as the suit design matches up with the Arkham suit design
Tommy's line about twins means he was out drinking with twin women after performing an unrelated successful surgery and wanted Bruce to come party with them.
I genuinely didn't know Deadshot being a last minute addition was a theory, I thought it was just a generally accepted fact 😂😂 love this video! Who knew there was more content in the Arkhamverse?!
@@KingKlear If by "dubious" you mean "the writers for Asylum, City, Origins, and Knight games explicitly said they don't consider the comics canon" then yeah you're right. The Arkham Shadow devs have said that they consider the comics canon, but that's only 1 out of 5 games where the devs acknowledge the comics.
In the comics for the Arkham games, Thomas is the man who separated the twins. The comics for the arkham city also pretty much cover the short stories you unlock from riddler challenges. Joker hored him and had thomas separate them
Electrocutioner just happening upon the bounty makes sense when you consider that the SWAT commander negotiated for a chance at the bounty well after the contract was commissioned.
What if Batman figured out that there were two jokers? What if Batman went after Talia before Hugo strange? What if Batman found Jason Todd during Arkham asylum? What if bane was in Arkham night? What if nyssa was in Arkham city? What if Barbara was never paralyzed? What if all the villains united to fight Batman in knight (Scarecrow, penguin, 2 face, riddler, pyg, deathstroke, croc, hatter, firefly, black mask, bane, Arkham knight? Shiva, deadshot, Harley Quinn, hush)
I view Sionis’ mask being in Dr Youngs office as a trophy from her career. She possibly did a lot of positive treatment on him and maybe even cured him of some things. Or was a way to try and re cognate his brain by separating the entity from him. Similar to how to treat the Ventriloquist you would take Scar Face away from Arnold.
Hey GP, great video. I was the one who mentioned the Electricutioner not being an original assassin choice and there's a few more reasons why I don't think he was: 1. His 'boss fight' isn't a real fight. He gets KO'd in one move, unlike every other assassin. Even Anarky who was a teenager put up a better fight than him and that just doesn't make sense for an assassin. 2. Leading up to his unaliving scene, when Joker is getting irritated, he doesn't care and plays his video game. No assassin who truly wanted the money would do that, they'd be planning like everybody else did to take down Batman. 3 Unless I am mistaken, this was Electricutioner's only appearance in any sort of Batman media. Every other assassin has appeared in something before Origins.
I don't think Riddler would get to much satisfaction from Batman saying he's better. I think he would take it as Batman placating him, making him feel like he's got to try even harder now.
I think them shoehorning Slade into AK wouldn't be because of promoting JL as it was two years away, and Slade played such a minor role in that film that it wouldn't do much for promoting the movie. Even more so with how minor he was in Ak. If they did shoehorn him into the game I think it would be more so to tie of loose ends, so I'm pretty sure at the time AK was going to be the final Arkham game or thing set in that universe. So it was a last minute choice to try and tie up a loose end.
I don’t think Riddler would believe Batman if he just told him that he was better. He’d think/know it was just to appease him. He’d want to watch Batman fail for proof, which in turn would cause people to die
Re: the games being set in the '90s with advanced tech, the original Batman '89 movie has a scene where a newspaper refers to the President as Truman, so this would follow that same aesthetic.
1:09 Its possible that like the comics Lesile just left Gotham to handle other medical stuff im different regions or she dropped contact with Bruce after Jason died. 2:14 Arkham Origins takes place in 2013 due to a calender left on the background so its likely a retcon or just the guy who made the plack was stupid or something. 6:13 Young was his therapist in Arkham and she was considering using him for her Titan project in her notes. The mask seems to be made of wood meaning it was Roman's original mask that he made out of his father's coffin. Maybe she kept it there to make him feel at home as she states he's a little more easy due to him likely not being insane. 6:13 its likely Ra's Didn't send Cain after Batman because he was still figuring out who Batman was so he didn't know how personal he had to make the fight be. 6:13 This one depends if you wanti take the arkham city comic as canon as he actually did remove them there but its possible you can chose this one to be canon. 6:13 In Arkham Shadow Ryder does am endorsement for a tonic from the man who made The Creeper syrum in the comics so its possible that Jack has to drink a liquid to turn into The Creeper. Jack does have D.I.D so he does forget when he is The Creeper. 17:36 He would leave Batman alone but Ed would still want Gotham as he belives that he so smart he should do what he wants without question. So while Bruce would be fine Ed would still rob banks and hack into systems. Remember Riddler met Batman because he wanted to start a mass riot in Gotham because he could and it's implied that his actions may have influenced The Rat King in Arkham Shadow.
2. It's strange thing because how we know Origins it's prequel, and with Arkham Timeline we can clearly see Arkham Knight was 10 years after Origins, so... Arkham Knight takes place in 2023? Strange
Keep it up on your work and this video and channel I love this video and channel Thanks you for your video and channel I love Batman Arkham all franchise
I think that the reason why Leslie thomkins was mentioned in the previous batman arkham games is probably because either the developers of the batman arkham games forgot to include her or they did include but forget putting in the subtitles mentioning her among the people who he cares about
6:37 there's a mission in Origins where you have to destroy Black Mask's "drug" tanks, this tanks may have contained a precursor to the Venom that Dr. Young used in Bane, maybe i'm wrong, but this fact may add some information to the theory
I really hope we get an Arkham game that takes place after Shadows. Would love to see the story continue and I would love to see more Batman villains get their chance to shine.
The only confirmed year we have is 1988 which is when Otis Flannegan was born therefore it needs to be at least twenty years after this year when Arkham Shadow takes place. I've also looked into this a bit more and cross-references the Batman Easter egg calendars in SSKTJL (look I don't care if you flame me) with years and the only one that would be possible is Suicide Squad being set in 2024 Based off of this I believe that the timeline goes: Arkham Origins: Initiation (2007) Arkham Origins Prequel Comics (2009) Arkham Origins (Dec 24th-25th 2009) Arkham Origins Cold Cold Heart (Dec 31st 2009) Arkham Origins Blackgate (Mar/Apr 2010) Arkham Shadow (July 4th - 11th 2010) Arkham Knight: Batgirl Begins (2010) Arkham Origins: Multiplayer (2012) Arkham Knight: Genesis (2015 - 2016) Arkham Knight: A Matter of Family (Feb 14th 2016) Arkham Asylum: The Road To Arkham (June 2017) Arkham Asylum (June 2017) Arkham City Prequel Comics (Late 2018/Early 2019) Arkham City (Jan 2019) Arkham City: Harley Quinn's Revenge (2019) Arkham City: Endgame (2019) Arkham VR (2019) Arkham Knight Prequel Comics (2019) Arkham Knight: Harley Quinn Story Pack (2019) Arkham Knight (Oct 31st 2019) Arkham Knight: Catwoman's Revenge (2019) Arkham Knight: GCPD Lockdown (2019) Arkham Knight: A Flip of A Coin (2019) Arkham Knight: Red Hood Story Pack (2019) Suicide Squad Kills Arkham Asylum (2024) Suicide Squad Kills The Justice League (2024)
I think that the theory that electrocutioner took the bounty by Force makes total sense because you can see in the Easter egg there were other ideas for assassins that joker would hire so the bounty that electrocutioner took was probably meant for another assassin
Paladin I've been trying to see if I'm at the end of the videos but I can't find myself. But it's whatever at least I get to see the vid early that's a plus
I think the only way Riddler would be satisfied in beating Batman would be to kill him. Batman simply saying "This riddle is too hard, I give up, you win, I'm humiliated, Riddler." Just wouldn't work. We've kinda seen this in the games already. Riddler goes berserk if you give up on his riddles/traps and starts trying to give you hints on how to actually solve it.
Young-Black Mask connection. Maybe Joker was already on her to develop Titan (they have the T-1 formula) as Black Mask. The display in her office was sent by Joker as a reminder that he's fooled her twice as the backer of her experiments.
The timeline theory always made sense to me because in arkham origins there's an air duct cleaning schedule posted on a whiteboard in the gcpd with dates listed from like 1974 to 1976 also it would help explain some of the more anachronistic style choices such as old boxy televisions and cars existing alongside smartphones and the advanced technology could be from waynetech or lexcorp or some such
What I really wanted was a full-on boss fight with Deathstroke. Like a fist fight where you have to match martial arts prowess with him on the streets of Gotham and not Batman ending it with a super chokeslam.
I head canon Jack Ryder mutated into the creeper, but Batman cured him like the new batman adventures. It could have been a onetime thing. Probably happened between Origins and Asylum.
In most continuities, Shiva is the best martial artist/assassin in the world. So if she took the bounty then the other League of Assassins members would likely step aside.
It is confirmed that Tommy was the Surgeon that separated the twins. In the Batman Arkham Unhinged comics there was a story where Harley went to Russia and took the twins for the Joker. Joker first asked Zsaez but then decided on Tommy. He also gave Tommy a box of something probably money to fund his plans of hurting Batman.
Regarding the theory where it takes place in the 90’s I checked a Reddit thread and someone said joker makes a reference about the show “lost” in Arkham city. Lost came out in 2010. people say it doesn’t matter tho and it’s just a reference.
He doesn't namedrop the show. He just says "How come it all ended in a church?" That *was* almost certainly meant to be a reference to Lost, but it could easily be to just about any in-universe media.
Theory 1 - Nah, characters come and go all the time in the Arkham series. The lack of any references to Leslie are likely because the devs didn't think about her since they had yet to introduce her. I mean, she could be dead, but until there's a body, it's just developer oversight. Theory 2 - Do you not remember the big plot point for Quincy Sharp in Asylum and City? He was mind controlled by Hugo Strange into thinking he's possessed by Amadeus Arkham, who died in the 1800s. That plaque is too high up for the criminals of Arkham City to reached, so it was vandalized by someone else - you know, unless one of those criminals played baseball or football and lobbed grenade at the plaque, since that is not burn damage. It'd take more than fire to do that to a metal plaque. Anyway, it should be obvious that the plaque was likely made when Quincy still thought he was Amadeus, and thus that year is probably some point in the 1800s, not the 90s. It's a matter of Quincy still being under mind control, not the Arkhamverse being in the 90s. Theory 3 - This one actually makes a lot of sense. Theory 4 - So, we're just forgetting the fact she has multiple files and other artifacts in her office? Also, we already know that Dr. Young was evil - she tortured Bane for fuck's sake. Theory 5 - No. Just... no. Those are just easter eggs, nothing more. Also, why would Jason Todd put that target on himself, knowing full well a lot of the heroes of the DC Universe would laugh at such a threat? Really, a bomb threat is meant to stop Constatine from doing some? Superman is just going to ignore Gotham because Jason said he'd blow it up? C'mon. And, yes, Alfred does state it was a public message, but that just meant it was sent around the city. That doesn't mean he sent it across the fucking world. Theory 6 - First, it wasn't Black Mask who hired the assassins, it was Joker pretending to be Black Mask who hired the assassins. Second, why would Joker hire Electrocutioner? Why the fuck do you think? Cause it's funny! It's the Joker, he doesn't have to explain any of his actions apart from thinking it'd be funny. Theory 7 - Black Spider isn't a member of the League of Assassins, and Cheshire is a freelance assassin. Also, why would Joker reject them? He's the Joker, he doesn't need a reason. Probably decided it wouldn't be funny enough or something. Theory 8 - Hush couldn't have been the one to do Hammer and Sickle's surgery, at least not in Origins. In Arkham City, the story for the twins states that they were still conjoined when Joker sent Harley to retrieve them. They hadn't had their surgery yet. So, it's impossible for these twins to be the same ones, as this conversation happened several years before Joker sent Harley to get the still conjoined twins. Theory 9 - Makes sense. Creeper does have a slight healing factor, so the quick healing of Jack's injuries, and lack of any new ones, do help this theory. Plus, Jack doesn't always know about his other half - some stories do have the Creeper as a dual personality situation. Theory 10 - So, we just forgetting how Riddler debuted in the Arkhamverse? In Arkham Origins, this man was trying to cause mass panic and outrage by doxing influential people. At best he'd be a vigilante who takes things too far. Plus, he's stubborn. He won't believe he's won until Batman is dead. How do we know? He refuses to believe Batman is Bruce Wayne just because he wasn't the one who figured it out.
hey Paladin here’s an idea do a enemy tier list for all the arkham games I think that can be a interesting idea for a video since I have no other arkham youtuber discuss this topic
#2 is simple, Arkham city is set in the 90's, but the gap between arkham city and knight, knight could possibly be set in the early 2000's, therefor the smartphones
about 90's and technology that was the whole point i remember some dev said that they tried to create gotham "out of time" or something like that so yeah you've got smartphones and old style paparazzi from beginning of arkham city
Good stuff! I was going to be picky about the "Rejected Assassins" segment, and couldn't wait to let out a screeching _ ACTUALLY_ but I was foiled by my own researches... I thought that Black Spider, when this game was being made, had never been part of the League of Assassins, so he couldn't have been rejected because of that. But turns out that Eric Needham (that many probably know from *Batman: Assault on Arkham* ) had been linked to the League of Shadows for the first time in the character's career (and several people took on that mantle) in 20212, in *Young Justice* season 1... In my mind Young Justice aired a bit after *Arkham Origins* , but since unlike Asylum & City, I didn't buy Origins right when it came out and waited a year or so for various reasons, I guess my internal timeline is messed up because of that. Well done. When it comes to Executionner, to be fair he isn't the only assassin shown attacking the goons that Black Mask/Joker sent alongside the invitation False Facer to "test" the skills of the mercenaries. While some like Copperhead, Killer Croc, Deadshot and Firefly seem to be taking out people not related to Black Mask in their segments, others like Bane, Shiva, Electrocutionner and possibly Deathstroke take out guys either wearing black masks or clearly working for Roman Sionis (the dude who gave the contract to Slade didn't wear a mask, but he was obviously a member of the False Face Society) So, Lester Buchinsky tazing that false facer in his highlight doesn't mean much; when it comes to the why, why was he chosen since he seems to suck, my guess is that he *is* usually better, but like Joker pointed out, "when I hire you to kill the Batman, you KILL THE BATMAN", you don't just flap your gums instead of preparing for combat. For all we know he's usually a good fighter, and from his shock gloves he seems to be a decent tinkerer, and he has some contacts with the underworld (like the Penguin) Sure he isn't as impressive as some of the other names on that list, but like Garfield Lynns/Firefly he's a local guy who wouldn't be hard to find, and unlike a lot of other candidates, he isn't too close thematically to anyone else in the assassin group, yay variety! (I realize that it's the in-world explanation, not Joker's rational, but the dude had a lot on his plate and he might have hired some convenient guys on the big shots had been secured) Anyway, time to unpause the video and check the rest out!
2:56 Imma also say In the Suicide Squad game, Metropolis does resemble how 90s people saw the future and Metropolis resembles their version of the future well
Im almost sure electrocutioner was meant as an assasin by the joker, mostly since he is on the board with people to deliver to, remember the way batman finds out about the assasins is by the drone footage showing the board with all the people black mask wants
I was going thru my yearly play thru of origins (because it's a Christmas game) but I think they have a rough timeline and or mirror the old DCAU because of cold cold heart. I think a few of the documents in blackate have dates and I'm sure we can come to a answer with a calendar in the game too. City they have come clues too but need to replay. i could've sworn Aysluim has some
I think if Batman were to tell riddler that he won or that he is superior the riddler wouldn’t believe him. Riddler is super suspicious about things like this like when Batman’s identity was revealed. I think the only way riddler could see himself superior is by killing him. And even then he may not believe he killed him. He would probably have to do DNA tests and conductive research before ever believing that he was superior.
Riddler would not accept batman simply conceding defeat. You can walk away from riddler challenges at anytime which riddler takes as you giving up but he never stops having that compulsion to prove his superiority by killing batman with a puzzle he cant solve
Leslie Tompkins is a doctor. She was friends with Bruce Wayne‘s father Thomas Wayne who Was a Surgeon / Doctor and she was very close to the Waynes and Bruce when he was growing up. And after his parents murder so later on when he becomes Batman if he gets severely injured and it’s beyond Alfred Pennyworth medical skills and Bruce / Batman can’t go to a hospital he goes to her for medical treatment and she knows he’s Batman
The Birds of Prey are also in Gotham during Knight and we’re confirmed to be aiding to protect civilians who couldn’t get out. Plus we know villains like Zsasz are in Gotham and Bruce saw him on the camera when Jason took Barbara. So that’s likely what’s going on with the other heroes. They’re dealing with Zsasz, Prometheus, and the other villains Bruce couldn’t get to.
Joker probably hired Lester as a sick joke. Lester is the first villian to attack Batman, and he gets taken out like a chump. Joker probably wanted to send Lester to his doom for fun.
Is it me or it looks like Gotham City is a Mashup of different eras? Like a fusion of esthetics and technologies from the 30s up to the modern days (e.g. In the Gotham TV series at one point there are some gangsters using an M1928 Thompson while Jim has a mobile phone)
I have theory about why Joker kidnapped Black Mask before Arkham Origins. Yeah of course Sionis image was easiest to cover himself and he before AO was the most powerful gamer in Gotham underworld. But... Joker before he being the Joker was nobody. We know that thugs whos broke to Ace Chemicals with future Joker were working for Falcone, but... what if before it Black Mask had bullied pre-Joker for some reason? And Joker wanted also took revange on Sionis and not only beacuse of his firepower and easy way to hide for some time? What do you think about that theory and it degree of probability?
Maybe Joker lied to Strange in the interview (he is an unreliable narrator, after all,) and Black Mask was really the one who sent him into Ace Chemicals. Sionis did have an obsession with masks, so the Red Hood persona seems more like something he would use than Falcone. Makes Joker going after Tiffany Ambrose even more dark, cause if this origin is to be believed, Joker's wife died in a fire, so Joker would have been recreating the same thing to make Sionis go through what he did. It would also make the Red Hood DLC from Knight super ironic, since the one who eventually kills Sionis is using the identity that he himself invented. Or hey, maybe Joker made it all up. If he's going to have a backstory, he might as well make it multiple choice!

Wth how u at 4 hours
@GoblinTheGreat my manz, hes referencing a BATMANARKHAMVIDEOS video timestamp.
@GoblinTheGreat I was watching them part by part before the full thing was made
Arkham Shadow was written by completely different writers than Asylum and City, so this is clearly just the Shadow writers messing up.
@@HOTD108_ All the Arkham games were ALSO written and made by different people
I always eat Arkham Batman content up bc this universe is so rich with lore and it’s takes on characters (not always). Riddler becoming “good” if he got told by Batman he is better than him I don’t think that would last long bc he would feel that it wasn’t genuine.
I was gonna say that as well. Riddler would think that Batman is just lying to him and continue to make more traps throughout the city.
Yup. Just like Bruce Wayne being revealed as Batman.
@@pramudyamaulana6969Actually in comics he gave up on being Riddler when he realised he is done proving it to Batman ... He gives up life of crime ... So yes if Batman genuinely admits it he is gonna leave the life of crime ... Won't become good but retire.
Riddler was already a criminal before meeting Batman in Origins. I think he was always obsessed with using crime as a way to prove his superiority.
I like some parts of the character but fuck that character n all like it*
In Arkham Knight, some pill bottles have 2015 as an expiration date
Actually the non-canon Arkham City Unhinged Comic I believe confirmed Hush did separate the Abramovici Twins. But that comic is, again, not canon
I have a Small Theory: Joker got Clayface to Pretend to be Jason Todd in the Video he Kills him In. It was all Staged because if Batman thought Jason was Dead he wouldn't try to find him, So Joker could keep Torturing the Real Jason
This would explain why Jason reacts the way he did when Batman tells him that Joker sent him a tape.
Go ahead and read Arkham Knight Genesis. It's only semi-cannon but it does explain Jason's supposed death. Honestly tho your theory makes more sense then the comic
@@ThatBatGuy-Q The Bullet hit Jason's Body Armour but left a Flesh Wound
In the cancelled Damien Wayne game wasn’t one of the villains black masks daughter? As she was shown with dr elements! Black Mask and Young might’ve had a kid.
It probably explains why black mask was so eager to leave Arkham city! (As you can see where he breaks out of Arkham City in game)!
If you ask me, Batman admitting Riddler is better than him wouldn't work because either:
1. Riddler would convince himself that Batman doesn't mean it (which he might be right but either way he won't believe it until he gets a definitive win by making Batman fail a hostage puzzle or something)
Crazy bc I'm turning 24 next year. Bro was in way over his head
@ fr
About the Riddler. I feel like even if Batman were to say something like, "Okay Riddler, you win, you're more intelligent than I am." It simply wouldnt satisfy the Riddler. Nigma wants to prove he's better by outsmarting or blatently killing the Batman, so Batman simply saying Riddler is better wouldnt be enough for him to feel superior. Even then, Batman can't let Riddler win because it would innevitably end with the deaths of innocent people or Batman's death.
Thats just what I think though, maybe he would could be a better person.
In regards to the Deathstroke one,
I swear to god I remember reading at the time of Knight’s release that WB & Rocksteady didn’t really communicate during development - and that’s why Knight got delayed.
They tried to shoe-horn in a few of their villains from Origins, hence the Zsasz mission being cut and Firefly/Deathstroke being shoved in
I refuse to believe the Arkham games took place in the 90s…
They dont
The sign looks really old too
It's supposed to be an Easter Egg to BTAS because the series is set in an alternate timeline where everyone dresses like they're in the 40s but they also have modern technology. My guess is the date on the plaque is because the Arkham games carry on BTAS. It only makes sense to set the timeline in a nebulous era set somewhere between the 1940s and the 1990s or whatever.
The asylum opened in the 18 or 1900s , I don't understand how people don't get that. It obviously doesn't take place in the 90s
It ABSOLUTELY does not.
What a completely WEAK proof too. Jesus Christ, does he realize that year numbers CAN come in four digits? And the sign starts WITH A NUMBER 1, NOT 9 😂😂😂
That entry just blew my mind, like how can someone see that and come to that conclusion, just baffles me.
I love how these (kinda old) games are still getting talked about and shown love just proves we need a new one
Batman loves to work alone when dealing with his city, so it makes sense for no one else to butt into his life.
I personally feel like the surgery Tommy was talking about was unrelated or just kinda a reference to the Arkham city twins.Idk there’s so many inconsistencies with the Arkham timeline so it could be either or. I’d like it think it is related to the twins
Could be just a reference, but yeah with all the inconsistencies who knows haha
With the twins theory, I think Thomas had a good surgery and is tryna party with Bruce and a pair of twins 😂
Ditto
Exactly what I thought
one of my theories is that riddler and thomas elliot were in contact, and i think tommy helped riddler put the minibombs in the rioters in arkham knight.
I mean, it would explain how the rioters have the minibombs in their skulls in the first place
In Asylum she is not in the Asylum
She is likely not in Arkham City
Knight is the only one that you can see her sticking around to help but if she is alive she is likely quite old and infirm at that point as she is in the animated series she could have evacuated.
A good point but the plaque specifically is talking about the date Arkham City opened
Totally irrelevant comment. The sign literally says "Arkham City" on it, which wasn't built until after Asylum's story, meaning anything before City can't be any further in the future than 1999.
@HOTD108_ personally, I think it is 1997 or a little bit after because that was the time BTAS was taking place
Edit: I meant The New Batman Adventures as the suit design matches up with the Arkham suit design
I don’t think riddler would believe it if Batman said riddler was smarter than him, reckon deep down he knows Batman is smarter
I think it is confirmed that Hush did the surgery
It wasin one of the tie-in comics, though their canonicity is dubious.
I was the one who mentioned the Electricutioner not being an original assassin choice and there's a few more reasons why I don't think he was:
Riddler actually did become a good guy in the comics for a while. Worked as a private eye and an ally to the Bat.
I don’t think Riddler would believe Batman if he just told him that he was better. He’d think/know it was just to appease him. He’d want to watch Batman fail for proof, which in turn would cause people to die
10:53 Joker would definitely hire Lester just to kill him and prove a point
Great video as always
Thanks as always Melissa!
Re: the games being set in the '90s with advanced tech, the original Batman '89 movie has a scene where a newspaper refers to the President as Truman, so this would follow that same aesthetic.
17:09 You did my riddler theory! Omg! I’m actually happy AF!!
110k subscribers and still growing, much love
I love these theories it’s quite interesting.
It is nice that they at least had Black Spider show up in Assault on Arkham.
Strange

Batman in Origins: 👹🤬
Batman with 9 years experience, in asylum: 🥳
I dont even NEED to wacth this to know its gonna be another W vid.
Edit: I just wacthed it, 🔥 vid.
I think that the reason why Leslie thomkins was mentioned in the previous batman arkham games is probably because either the developers of the batman arkham games forgot to include her or they did include but forget putting in the subtitles mentioning her among the people who he cares about
Great episode bro
6:37 there's a mission in Origins where you have to destroy Black Mask's "drug" tanks, this tanks may have contained a precursor to the Venom that Dr. Young used in Bane, maybe i'm wrong, but this fact may add some information to the theory
Batman even mentions somewhere in the game about someone having "access to the street drug venom".
jokes on you im not wearing socks
I'll never play Sonic Heroes
@@GothamPaladin thats why im happy and youre not
I really hope we get an Arkham game that takes place after Shadows. Would love to see the story continue and I would love to see more Batman villains get their chance to shine.
The only confirmed year we have is 1988 which is when Otis Flannegan was born therefore it needs to be at least twenty years after this year when Arkham Shadow takes place. I've also looked into this a bit more and cross-references the Batman Easter egg calendars in SSKTJL (look I don't care if you flame me) with years and the only one that would be possible is Suicide Squad being set in 2024
Based off of this I believe that the timeline goes:
Arkham Origins: Initiation (2007)
Arkham Origins Prequel Comics (2009)
Arkham Origins (Dec 24th-25th 2009)
Arkham Origins Cold Cold Heart (Dec 31st 2009)
Arkham Origins Blackgate (Mar/Apr 2010)
Arkham Shadow (July 4th - 11th 2010)
Arkham Knight: Batgirl Begins (2010)
Arkham Origins: Multiplayer (2012)
Arkham Knight: Genesis (2015 - 2016)
Arkham Knight: A Matter of Family (Feb 14th 2016)
Arkham Asylum: The Road To Arkham (June 2017)
Arkham Asylum (June 2017)
Arkham City Prequel Comics (Late 2018/Early 2019)
Arkham City (Jan 2019)
Arkham City: Harley Quinn's Revenge (2019)
Arkham City: Endgame (2019)
Arkham VR (2019)
Arkham Knight Prequel Comics (2019)
Arkham Knight: Harley Quinn Story Pack (2019)
Arkham Knight (Oct 31st 2019)
Arkham Knight: Catwoman's Revenge (2019)
Arkham Knight: GCPD Lockdown (2019)
Arkham Knight: A Flip of A Coin (2019)
Arkham Knight: Red Hood Story Pack (2019)
Suicide Squad Kills Arkham Asylum (2024)
Suicide Squad Kills The Justice League (2024)
I think that the theory that electrocutioner took the bounty by Force makes total sense because you can see in the Easter egg there were other ideas for assassins that joker would hire so the bounty that electrocutioner took was probably meant for another assassin
Paladin I've been trying to see if I'm at the end of the videos but I can't find myself. But it's whatever at least I get to see the vid early that's a plus
You are there! Middle row fourth from the bottom! haha
The display in her office was sent by Joker as a reminder that he's fooled her twice as the backer of her experiments.
thing with Riddler is he believes he is better than Batman but believes the only way to definitively prove that is by killing Batman
The timeline theory always made sense to me because in arkham origins there's an air duct cleaning schedule posted on a whiteboard in the gcpd with dates listed from like 1974 to 1976 also it would help explain some of the more anachronistic style choices such as old boxy televisions and cars existing alongside smartphones and the advanced technology could be from waynetech or lexcorp or some such
6:22 Sionis always getting dunked on😭
Amazing video
Joker hiring the Executioner is exactly what he would do because it's hilarious to him that the guy gets knocked out from one punch
What I really wanted was a full-on boss fight with Deathstroke. Like a fist fight where you have to match martial arts prowess with him on the streets of Gotham and not Batman ending it with a super chokeslam.
the amount of hype these game have sustained over the years is insane. i feel like something huge is coming.
Lol this man put a party hat on batman and thought we wouldnt notice but we did! 😂😂😂
2:41 that’s probably an old memorial.
It literally says "Arkham City" on it, which didn't start construction until after Arkham Asylum, so it's objectively not just an old memorial.
@ I know, I was just trying to make a reason why they have better technology then what we had in the 19.
Enough to get a theory
4:08 I think it was supposed to be that militia commander we hear during tank battles since we never saw what he looked like or what happened to hin
Doc Young and Black mask both lived in Lacey Tower at the same time, her name was on one of the doors.
hey Paladin here’s an idea do a enemy tier list for all the arkham games I think that can be a interesting idea for a video since I have no other arkham youtuber discuss this topic
#2 is simple, Arkham city is set in the 90's, but the gap between arkham city and knight, knight could possibly be set in the early 2000's, therefor the smartphones
I have extracted a newspaper from the Asylum, that has March 15th 2000 on it.
about 90's and technology that was the whole point i remember some dev said that they tried to create gotham "out of time" or something like that so yeah you've got smartphones and old style paparazzi from beginning of arkham city
Electrocutioner being 24 is crazy 😂
While some like Copperhead, Killer Croc, Deadshot and Firefly seem to be taking out people not related to Black Mask in their segments, others like Bane, Shiva, Electrocutionner and possibly Deathstroke take out guys either wearing black masks or clearly working for Roman Sionis (the dude who gave the contract to Slade didn't wear a mask, but he was obviously a member of the False Face Society)
So, Lester Buchinsky tazing that false facer in his highlight doesn't mean much; when it comes to the why, why was he chosen since he seems to suck, my guess is that he *is* usually better, but like Joker pointed out, "when I hire you to kill the Batman, you KILL THE BATMAN", you don't just flap your gums instead of preparing for combat.
For all we know he's usually a good fighter, and from his shock gloves he seems to be a decent tinkerer, and he has some contacts with the underworld (like the Penguin)
Sure he isn't as impressive as some of the other names on that list, but like Garfield Lynns/Firefly he's a local guy who wouldn't be hard to find, and unlike a lot of other candidates, he isn't too close thematically to anyone else in the assassin group, yay variety! (I realize that it's the in-world explanation, not Joker's rational, but the dude had a lot on his plate and he might have hired some convenient guys on the big shots had been secured)
Anyway, time to unpause the video and check the rest out!
2:56
Imma also say In the Suicide Squad game, Metropolis does resemble how 90s people saw the future and Metropolis resembles their version of the future well
Im almost sure electrocutioner was meant as an assasin by the joker, mostly since he is on the board with people to deliver to, remember the way batman finds out about the assasins is by the drone footage showing the board with all the people black mask wants
Leslie left her clinic during Arkham City’s construction. She’s well alive far after Arkham Shadow and Asylum
The reason joker hired Electrocutioner was as a joke
Technically Shadow isn’t part of the main series that’s why she would’ve been name dropped heavy in Arkham knight and origins.
The set in the 90s theory makes sense because in wonder there are ancient robots that have color video technology
