    I'm glad I found this video, thanks so much. I saw nothing in the Amazon description about the Sawgrass printer and certain sublimation inks. I think I will return it all as it is expensive and since I have an Epson, I don't want to waste time or money trying to make it work. Thanks again!

      @@AngieHolden I appreciated that. I would have preferred the white spots cut out and for the ink to dry. Maybe I'll experiment, although an expensive lesson LOL.

    I so wish I'd seen your video sooner! After 2 ruined shirts and tons of ruined supplies, I finally got it right after watching YOUR video! I have an Epson -4850 with Hiipoo ink that I use for sublimation and I had an order for a dark blue shirt. I printed on A-Sub paper and sublimated it to the Siser easysubli HTV as shown in your video. I was making it so much more difficult than it should have been! Thanks again!

    This helped me so much! I love how mine turned out. I used the mask method. I didn't have any trouble removing the mask. I didn't pull off at an angle, but straight. Came right off. I used converted et2800 with hiipoo sublimation ink, and it printed beautifully. Cut with cricut maker 3, put through twice to cut at normal pressure. Used on Gildan 100% cotton purple shirt. Couldn't have done this method without your tutorial video!!!

    I have a few questions. 1. If your going to do a print & cut why do some people if they have a sawgrass save their image as a png instead of sending it directly to the sawgrass printer, then they bring it onto their canvas? 2. Does this have to be done ONLY if the image is not already a PNG? 3. Do I need to calibrate my Cricut maker with my Sawgrass 500 to do a print & cut?
    I hope this is not confusing.
    Thank you for your great teaching.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just do it in Design Space like normal then send to Sawgrass Print Manager. Not sure why they want to do it another way? Calibration is for the Cricut machine. Regardless of the printer you are using.

    I would have used a pressing pad to raise the area of the shirt that needed to be in contact. Those neck and sleeve seams are in the way and pretty sure your pressure isn't as even as it could be. Or, I'd use my smaller press, then the seams would fall off the side of the platens and then you have even pressure. Just the way I was taught years ago and it makes sense. Thank you for your video.

    Hi Angie. Thanks so much for this video. I guess my biggest question is if either way, some kind of backing is necessary to do sublimation on cotton and dark colors, and I can't print directly onto the EasySubli because I have an Epson... What's the difference between EasySubli and the HTV for dark colors that just recently came out? Does one feel less vinyl-y or lighter on the fabric? Or are they essentially the same?

    Angie, I was wondering if you are using the Easysubli ink as it’s suggested, by the manufacturer. I have a sg 500 and had the option, when buying, to get the Easysubli ink bundle or the regular. I had to choose one option or the other because the ink is not interchangeable. I didn’t do much research on it and kinda wish I had now because it seems the Easysubli has more options?? I have a Cricut Maker 3 and the Sawgrass SG500 printer. Why cant you use the sublimation ink that's necessary for the SG500 on the Siser EasySubli product? Are you switching out the inks and cleaning the tanks inbetween use?

    • @AngieHolden

    Great video. I constantly pause and go back. First time using easy sub and sublimating. Help! What program are you using? I don't want to spend a fortune on subscriptions either. With easy sub paper, both sides look the same. How do you know which side to print on?

      The best thing to do is to peel back the corner. You want to cut the side that feels like vinyl. The side that feels like paper is the backing.

Doing that means other pieces of the pattern come up. I get so frustrated. I bought the mask from Heat Transfer since the Easy subli didn't work well for me. The Heat Transfer mask is just as bad. I have sublijet-UHD ink installed and Ive watched videos where people have printed with the subliject inks onto easysubli but then had to heat it up first like you showed... not sure how long I would have to heat/dry it with the cricut autopress before its dry enough to print and cut on the cricut?

    Hello, great video. I just started to use this HTV and i use the second method when you first prepress the previously cut HTV and then you print on it the paper. Hovewer i am concerned about the temperature. Now i press the HTV for 5sec on 385 and then the paper for 30sec on 385, I would like to ask if its ok and if it doesnt damage some material - i am concerned about the effect of this high temperature on some shirts. Would this work on a lower temperature like 315? Also after removing paper from the HTV is not necessary to "cure" the ink for some seconds? Thank you in advance.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  ปีที่แล้ว

      You would probably have to play with each brand of HTV to get the best possible results for your setup. I am not sure about "curing" the product. It should be fine after pressing.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the burn mark, be sure to use enough paper or a Teflon sheet that the entire EasyPress is covered. Did you peel back warm? If you allow to cool, it may stick to your paper.
