  • This video shows the safest way to remove oxidation from clear coat or even single stage. Oxidation is a chemical process that causes vehicle paint to break down over time from exposure to heat and oxygen. It is essentially a form of corrosion in which paint loses its oil content, and as a result, dries out. This process is gradual, but the effects can be severe.

I know you love Gel Coat but a small boat every once and while would be cool. What coating company would be best? Yours? How many layers can be used if possible? How long would it be good for?
I need to do mine again.

I always enjoy your sanding and polishing videos. I am totally borrowing the two blob technique on the applicator pad. The hood was super glossy when finished and I bet the gloss meter flirted with 100 after topping it. Thank you for an excellent video.

Thanks for the video. I had some stubborn oxidation in the clear coat that I tried to polish out but it kept coming back. Used some 3000 grit trizac and that did the trick.

A video ive been hoping to see anywhere is more of an analysis of different rotary polishers. Unless the only difference between a cheap one and a name brand are parts quality and longevity. But all i can ever find in a search is comparisons of da vs rotary. Fwiw Im using a Bauer 7" rotary, and it works great aside from being a tank.

6:39 that’s not rushing? Maybe I’m so used to using the same coatings I’ve gotten accustomed to the same speed.
