In the past 3 yrs or so I've become addicted to making shawls. I'm getting quite a collection but having ADHD, it gives me the variety that my brain needs so it doesn't get bored..LOL. I've made 3 just in the past 5 days..LOL

Your shawls are simply stunning. I have been hooked for quite some time on the Kalinda shawl and the Hitchiker. Kalinda is crochet and Hitchiker is knitted. Use both for just about any occasion. Stay safe and creative.

I love wraps, too, because a triangle shawl sometimes leaves me cold in the front! 😂
I often make my own wrap and ruana patterns because there aren't as many patterns for those.
I've started giving away the shawl or wrap I'm wearing if someone admires it and says so. I tell them to remember when they wear it that God's love is wrapped around them.
What a beautiful, generous heart you have! Do you consider your wraps to be "prayer shawls"? I don't know that I've ever made a prayer shawl specifically, but there's a lot of love that goes into every stitch, and I know those recipients feel it. Only once. I met a lady coming out of the hospital entrance, leaning on her husband's arm. Our eyes met and, in a flash, I saw deep sadness in her face.
She commented on the wrap I had made with Premier Garden yarn in a rainbow color way. I didn't hesitate a moment, but placed the wrap around her shoulders with a hug.
Though I don't know her name, she was the beginning of my God's Love shawl and wrap ministry. I still pray for her.

I love making shawls and knitting and crocheting them! I don’t know if you also knit but my favorite pattern is a knitted one called the Butterfly Shawl by Marin Melchior. It’s so beautiful! Love your work it’s gorgeous and I love seeing you wearing the results!

You’ve made me want to start crocheting again. I happened upon five skeins of beautiful brown fine wool at a thrift shop and I think I can get a shawl out of it. I’d like to make a rounded one rather than a triangle. Not sure if there are such crochet patterns. Yours are amazing.

I'm living in the California valley where the weather isn't shawl friendly. I basically didn't need something to cover my shoulders with until now. I'm not able to walk, so sitting most of the time with a crocheted blanket got old real fast. I wanted something pretty to cover my legs up while driving my mobility scooter inside the hospitalwhen Ihad my lab work.
Not sure which yarn to use, but you just gave me all kinds of ideas. Thank you for your video. The church ladies are going to ask me where I got the patterns. Bless you for sharing.

Love shawls too, just a suggestion. Stop moving around so much...hold your work still, so we can see the stitch pattern, and when you put it on, stand still, then turn slowly...😮 love triangle shawls too..❤

@@slowcrochet Yes. I was just about to suggest the same thing. Also, is it possible to improve the quality of the video? This one is very low-res and and blurry. Shawls like these should be shown in higher quality so we can see the detail in them. They really are quite beautiful. Is there any chance you might be willing to make another video with these same shawls? I would really love to get a better look at them 😊
@@slowcrochetI just checked the video quality and it says it was uploaded as 340p, which is extremely low. It’s possible you may have recorded it higher quality but then *uploaded* it lower. Just letting you know for future videos. 😊 Most videos are 1080p to 4K. Any lower than 720p will be poor quality and blurry.
@@slowcrochet I’m sure you already know, but just in case you didn’t… in your TH-cam settings, it’s under “UPLOADS” then “Upload Quality”. There’s 5 options, starting with 340p (the lowest) to 1080p, and then “Full Quality” for everything above 1080p.
I apologize if that’s something you already knew. I just thought I’d mention it on the off chance it might’ve been an oversight, and that you were wondering why your videos weren’t uploading at their best quality. 🤷🏻♀️😉

Your shawls are beautiful! I’ve made 3 rectangle shawls and 1 triangle. 1 of the rectangles was for a friends daughter to wear at her outside wedding if it were to get chilly. That one was super fun! The only triangle I have done thus far is the Road Trip Shawl. I do have a couple Two of Wands shawl patterns saved. I’m inspired to create anew one. 🙋🏼♀️ Off to dig into my yarn stash and see what catches my eye.

Thank you for that review, it was very helpful. I made one shawl in my life and it took forever! The pattern was called something like "Play Offs Shawl" because one was supposed to be able to crochet it in the time it takes to watch a sports game. I don't watch sports but that pattern was so complicated that I couldn't watch anything because I had to concentrate on it - and it took months to finish because I didn't enjoy it so I kept putting it down in frustration. It is finally done and I do love the end result. Now I will consider one of the patterns you suggested that seem a bit less intense :)
There's a fine line between "challenging yourself to grow" and "enjoying the learning process". Well done for pressing on and getting it done! I cannot imagine making a whole shawl during a game! I'll try to find that pattern, though. You've piqued my interest! Thank you! 😁❤

How have I not seen this channel before? Just subscribed! My favorite shawl pattern is the Lisette Faroese style shawl by Carolyn Christmas at Gourmet Crochet. The increases at the ends of the rows give it a shape that will stay on your shoulders without tying or pinning.
