Oh thank you!! This is so much easier than all these other videos touting that their video is the easiest way to make a shawl. They have you looking for single stitches to put multiple dcs in it, etc. Your tutorial is thankfully stitching into the open spaces. So very very much simpler. Thank you for actually being simple and doable.
This was a great video! I really like the fact that it incorporates real life: cat fur tangling into the yarn, difficulty getting the hook through 2 loops of a tight chain.
Hi Robin! Many years ago my mother tried to teach me how to crochet.....and as a young teenager I really didn't catch on or was very interested, as you can imagine how a teenager might be......now....as an old woman (LOL) I find myself drawn back to crocheting and it brought back fond memories. I scoured the internet for something simple to make so that I can get the knack of it and learn the more intricate stitches seeings how I can only remember the chain stitch....and stumbled onto your video! Thank you so much for doing this video, giving the directions in simple terms, and going slow enough for folks like me to catch on to how you were doing the stitches! I plan on going to the store tomorrow and purchasing my yarn (That color you are using is just divine!) and I have subscribed and saved your video so that I can start my shawl. Thank you so much!
After decades of giant granny squares i used a " scrappy " version of this to make my very first over sized shawl. It' s absolutely wonderful and cozy. I get compliments. Cat hair is a mark of their approval 😊
Robin you are my favorite crochet teacher. I take your lessons and teach young ladies in foster homes how to crochet. Your simple and easy to understand methods are much appreciated. Thank you for posting this video.
I finally got it. It is so easy once you get the basics and Robin really does a fantastic job with this tutorial. I had zero experience 2 weeks ago. I now have 4 granny shawls. I am love with crocheting now. Thank you so much Robin for your wonderful video! I did it with your excellent help. I cannot thank you enough. Toni
Robin, your channel is AWESOME. I'm just learning to crochet, and thanks to you, I am able to make my first shawl EVER. This is the best triangle granny I could find. I really needed this. Thanks so much for doing it even though you were not feeling well. You touched a lot of people. ❤
Dear Robin, Thank you again and again for this short and to the point video. It has proven to be one of the most serviceable shawl tutorials. I’ve missed stitched, added chains, crocheted in the wrong stitch, and the bloody thing always comes out looking like a million bucks! I always use colour-changing yarns and just keep adding skeins until it becomes a blg, gloriously warm cocoon to wrap up in whilst watching the telly. Love it!
So appreciate your tutorial! I’ve crocheted several of these shawls but always forget how to start. This video is a saver. Thank you for clear directions. 💖
Thank you You explain the method so well can do a Granny Square easy but had know idea how to do the straight edge No stopping me now Thank you again you are a great teacher
THANK YOU! I've been looking for a pattern for a shawl for awhile. Until now I couldn't find one I understood. This is an easy pattern and works up fast. Stay safe!
I watched two other videos on this same technique and I was so confused. I should have just come to your channel and watched! Robin, you are a great teacher. Even though I have been crocheting most of my 67 years, I still have learned so much from you. Thank you for always posting your videos.
Thank you so much for this video and information. Our charity makes prayer shawls for mothers who lost their babies before birth, this pattern is the best!
Got it so nice to see somebody using something else. Besides acrylic thread I love using caught and then rayon bamboo thread, but everybody just seems to acrylic acrylic which is like the easiest to crochet with. Thank you for that.
I am SO glad you made this tutorial. I needed to make corner page bookmarks. The only other tutorial I found was absolutely terrible. I used your tutorial instead but with a smaller hook and stopped after the third time around. I made two of them and sewed them together with a yarn needle (in case anyone else wants to know how). It worked beautifully!
Out of all the videos and charts I’ve looked at the past week or so this is the first one I got the first try that actually made sense for me. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing all your wonderful tutorials. I'm so glad to find another person working the left hand like this. I see most others holding out a finger and try as I might it just won't work for me. I keep going back to what is comfortable. Thank you for letting me know if it's feels right, it is right. Thank you again.
Thanks for this vidio. When visiting my mother- in -law at the hospital, she was given a prayer shall made by a volunteer.I thought this was a great idea and plan on making a few to donnat. This pattern is perfect for that. Thank you.
I have a learning disability so I need visual tutorials that explain the process you did it so well thank you Fir such clear Instructions-and great visual I truly appreciate it. Definitely subscribing.
I'm pretty new to crochet still. I've wanted to make an airy triangle shawl ALWAYS. I've probably watched 30 videos on it. Attemped at least 6 with zero success till now! I am now at least half way done with my pretty pink velvet airy triangle shawl and its JUST EXACTLY what i wanted! Almost a fishnet look. I think i can wing a little wavy frill border. I wish i could put a photo cause I'm SOOO happy with it! It was my second try of this exact one. Thank you SOOO very much!!! Purrrfect teaching!!!💜💜💜
Awwh amazing, you did it! 😃 If you are on Facebook, I have a Facebook page that people post photos on of their work: en-gb.facebook.com/HookedbyRobin Thank you so much for watching and your lovely comments.x
@@HookedbyRobin wow! Thank you for answering and i will definitely show my finished work on your FB. I wonder if you could tell me, if i want the make it about 6 inches longer from side to side without making the part that goes down my back 6 inches longer, how i would go about doing that? I tried making an extra last end chain one space and it worked except the top lost some of its straightness across the top. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I'll go join your FB group or like it or whatever now. Thank you SOOO much!!!💜💜💜
Im part of a prayer shawl ministry, but I have the worst time with reading crochet instructions. Your video is the easiest one I've found. Many many thanks to you!! Kind regards to u and urs.
Thank you soooooo much; thanks to you I can now do this stitch which I have been trying to learn for months. You are such an excellent instructor. Thank you again. Now I'm off to make myself a shawl.
This is my new project! I’ve been trying to replicate the shawl my great grandma made me years ago, and now I can! Thank you so much! I’m going to be adding fringe to mine! ❤❤

I am very new to crocheting and I am having a difficult time knowing what to do after you stop in the video. I am unsure if I turn my work and if I keep doing the chain 3 into the 3rd stitch. I love what you have helped me do so far. I have crocheted and pulled it out 7 times due to being confused. I have watched the video probably 50 times. I have accomplished what you have shown, but after that, I draw a complete blank. Lack of confidence I suppose. At any rate, I am never going to surrender and I will keep at it until I get it. Thank you so much for such a beautiful project. Sucks to be a newb at something so incredibly awesome.
Ok so first thing is to not get frustrated with yourself! Everyone starts somewhere (and yep, totally sucks to feel like a newb!) You turn your work for every new row. So, turn your work, chain 4 then up the sides do your 3 double crochet, chain 1 all the way up the side until you reach the triangle peak middle bit. In that middle bit you put 3 double crochet, chain 3 and 3 double crochet ALL into the same space. Then down the other side you chain one, pop 3 double crochet into the space all the way down to the end. Then you chain one and pop a double crochet into the 3rd chain of the chain 4 from the row below. Turn, do it again! Chain 4, 3double crochet chain 1 all the way to the top, do your middle peak of 3 double crochet, chain 3 and 3 double crochet all in the same space then back down the other side, chain 1 3 double crochet until to reach the end - chain 1 and pop a double crochet into the 3rd chain of the 4th chain. Keep doing that until it gets as big as you want it to be! I like my shawls massive 😂
@@HookedbyRobin Thank you so much. I will never give up. I don't care how many times I have to pull it out and start over. I love this and WILL complete a granny shawl, a massive one as well. Again, thank you for the excellent channel, videos, and patience. Up the Irons. Ta.

Ok so first thing is to not get frustrated with yourself! Everyone starts somewhere (and yep, totally sucks to feel like a newb!)
You turn your work for every new row.
