    Well done Alvin another great product and solution from LHY Audio and Vinshine Audio it will be interesting to see how this new linear power supply sounds in comparision to the stock SMPS, I'm sure this will fly off the shelves.

    Excellent idea. Having recently fitted the Beatechnik upgrade for the Jay's Audio transport I think there is a very large potential market for this kind of upgrade kit.
    Audiophiles love to upgrade, and if you can wring the last amount of performance out of your current gear rather than buying a new product, they will do it.
    Congratulations on this, and I hope you will continue to explore similar upgrades for other products in future.

    Wow I can’t believe I’m getting upgrading fever already 🤭 if this can improve the sound quality of already my excellent master edition you can count me in 👍🏻
    I do however think it won’t be long till the new Eversolo dmp-A6 premier edition is released with linear power supply once they catch wind of this 😂.
    I have no doubt the reason they used a smps was price being that they priced this unit to fly off the shelves which it has done, the mistake they made was to not include a linear power supply in the master edition but hey ho their still selling by the bucket load, so hats off to them they produced a fantastic product that will make the legacy hifi manufacturers quake in their boots at this price point.
    Out of interest what does the dmp- A6 sound like through the denafrips Pontus dac ?

      @@VinshineAudio unfortunately not really. The product is designed for a single purpose, requires some screws and a small ribbon cable to be attached. Very interested in this LPS which looks a very neat solution. If also using an external DAC (with improved clock) and using 'fixed volume mode' i.e. not using the pre-amp, does this potentially negate the benefit of the Master Edition over the Standard Edition? My understanding is that the Master Edition differs from the standard in improved:
    1. quality and accuracy of the internal dual clock (Accusilicon Femtosecond)
    2. operational amplifiers (OPA1612 with ultra-low distortion)
    3. Switching power supply with high-frequency noise filtering up to 5 megahertz.
    What benefits are therefore left for the Master Edition over the Standard Edition and am I missing something?

      That's a good question for eversolo team!

    • @Pete.across.the.street
      @Pete.across.the.street ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it only negates opamps. yes, you are missing that the clocks will still be used when used as a transport, that the power supplies are the same in both, and that the ME has gold badges.

    • @jamezdk
      @jamezdk ปีที่แล้ว

      As a transport using USB everything from the Master is negated, the clock in the DAC or DDC is used.

    • @VinshineAudio
      @VinshineAudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jorge, in general, LPS runs warmer than the SMPS. DMP-A6 features eight(8) louvers at each sides, it's a good one to ventilate the heat. Please find the following notes might be of interest to you: www.beatechnik.com/lps-a6#important-note

    I am on the fence. I would not mind if it were a little cheaper. I am currently running The Hermes D2D converter to the Pontus II 12th ed R2R DAC
    Over Is2 . Eversolo to Hermes USB in Is2 out to Pontus II. And I just use the Eversolo for a transport only. This plus my Tonewinner AMP and Audio GD preamp represent my " End Game" system. So I did not plan to " Replace " anything. Yet upgrading is enticing. My question is will I have to strain and convince myself that the sound is better or will it slap me in the face? Or somewhere in between. That is the question.

    They need to fix the USB power limitation.
    Makes this unusable for many !
    Also the noise measurements shown on the product web site have no bandwidth or spectrum given.
    In other words, what were the frequencies of the ripple of the two power supplies ?
    Be aware that the raw power supply output noise may not even be an issue for the circuits downstream as they probably have their own regulation stages anyway ?
    Show Spdif output or UBS jitter before and after as well as improved S/N on the Analog outputs and I'll believe this makes a difference.

    A6 can be buggy. Beware. Support can be problematic.

      Seems to be only buggy when I try to do a bunch of funky things with it to test its versatility. When that happens I just turn off & back on and all is well. There are some things it does & does not like to do, but works great if you just want to turn it on and listen to music.

      Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it! We have been running the LPS-A6 for several days without hiccups :)

    Switching power supply is most efficient and least expensive. However it is the worst sounding one in audio systems.

    Will this upgrade make any difference if using the Eversolo strictly as a player/transport to Pontus II via internal or external SSD as I don't stream or use the Eversolo DAC? Thanks

      I'm sure Alvin has a much better idea about this, but my experience of good power supplies is that they improve everything, but I guess if you are not using the full functionality of the unit you will get less bang for your buck in terms of sound quality vs cost.

      It does. The LPS power up the CPU, its digital signal processing section, crystals etc.
