After watching your video i took the dive and installed the lps on my master edition….. im blown away…. Definitely more at ease… a touch more spaciousness and detail… and i use it as a streamer only… definitely worth it…
Installed the LPS-A6 in my Dmp-A6 a few days ago. I use the Eversolo as a streamer to my dac. Relatively big improvement, bigger and wider soundstage, quieter background, more micro-detail. Of course not as big an improvement as swapping the amplifier for a better one, but as big an improvement as changing a cable for a better one.
I too added the LPS to my A6 master. For me the easiest way to check differences is to go from the streamer to a clean amp to the most fatiguing headphones to see if it makes them "less" fatiguing. It did.
Thank you for this review. I installed the LPS today and noticed an immediate difference. The vocals weren’t as forward, the soundstage was larger, the instrument separation was improved and greater clarity in older classical jazz. The most noticeable improvement was in high resolution lossless files. A lot more kick and punch out of the drums, less booming bass and more detailed presentation. For reference I listen to 2 channel pure direct through my Denon AV with Dali Opticon 2 speakers.
Very interesting. I will have to look into this and try it in my own DMP-A6 Master Edition. I love how the thing sounds "as is", but what I saw/heard in this video and based on several of the comments, I think I may have a bit of a purchase to make.
I have the master edition & installed the LPS several weeks ago so nicely burnt in. I would mirror Hans observations, subtle differences not night & day. The A6 already reveals so much detail I wasn’t expecting to be blown away but a more quieter background & separation which is what I get. I will say getting the spacers not to fall out whilst inserting the 4 screws was very fiddly (& I’m a mechanic used to such things) I would say though with the newly released A8 I’d wait & see what the reviews are like as the master edition with the beatechnik combo will be very close in price but for now I’m happy to recommend the LPS to anyone wishing to upgrade their existing A6. Hans I see you will be looking to review the new A8 could you ask zeedoo if they will be bringing out a master edition of that ?

A few days ago I did swap the powersupply Of my Eversolo master for a lps of Beattechnik. for now Iam very happy with the result. The difference between origanal and the lps is minor but it is there. @@meutubedouYup, saw them. I still haven't decided what I think of huff. He's a bit emotional and has hyped kit with what appears to me to be only a little experience with. Hans on the other hand is solid.
Hi Hans, did you try the PS in the standard DMP-6 as well. It would be nice to know if the gains was greater with the linear DAC/Streamer compared to the standard PS in that box?
I use my Master Edition as a transport only, and yes the power supply upgrade did indeed have a noteworthy impact on sound quality in my case as well. Results were quite similar to what Hans describes in the video. Of course your results could vary, depending on the rest of your system and its ability to resolve small differences in the signal from the digital transport. My system is in the $25,000 price range overall. Although I'd say for most people, at just $286, the LHY LPS is an easy recommendation for an upgrade.
Hi, Hans.. I have question for you. If use DMP A6 (Normal / Master Edition) as digital transport (music file from internal ssd or external ssd with external power supply), then connection to external DAC using USB cable. Not running streaming functionality at all. So, in this condition, upgrading DMP A6 (Normal/ Master Edition) will improve the sound quality significantly ?? 🙏
To me it was significant (whether you use streaming of local storage doesn't matter), whether it is significant for you depends on your stereo and how critical you are.
The new A8 uses a hybrid pwr supply...linear for analog section and switching for digital section. Upgrade options seem endless. If the ME upgraded is as good as a Mytek Brooklyn why not just get the latter or a more $$ streamer DAC (e.g. Lumin, HiFi Rose)?
After watching reviews of A8 and finding out that it has band equalizers, I went to settings in my A6 and for short period of time it also had band equalizers😊 . Couple days later it disappeared. I reached out to eversolo and they denied that band eq was never available on A6 and to show them pictures or video of that. Unfortunately I do not have any evidence of that but I was happy for that couple of days tinkering with eq. Unfortunately it was removed, I assume with an update. I wish they kept it and had it available on A6. Did any of you guys also experienced band eq on eversolo dmp-A6 for short period of time?
I don't see an equalizer. But I don't like them anyway. They can only compensate for other problems in the stereo and acoustics by introducing even more time smearing. But that's just me.
Thank you Hans for this good review. I added this LPS to my DMP-A6 ME used as a transport only, and it was definitely an improvement in soundstage, clarity, and very noticeable for the money. I was wondering whether you would consider the Aries G2.1 an upgrade over the DMP-A6 ME with LPS? With the issue of the G2.2, the previous version is now more affordable. Many thanks
You mention differences is sound quality due to "analogue" transmission of digital data. However: Do the differences actually change "zeros" to "ones"? Would such errors not get picked up by the transmission error checks ? How does timing differences from the streamer affect the sound quality? Does modern DAC's not unpack the packets of data it receive using their own clocks???
The ones and zero's tay in tact, it's the pollution/distortion of the digital signal that causes timing errors during the digital to analog conversion or cause jitter at flip-flops (a kind of digital switches). It's the same ins witches, see th-cam.com/video/ZCFvIzzMqfk/w-d-xo.html

No I mean upgrade the standard edition with the LPS (extra 280 investment) or sell the standard edition on marktplaats and invest to buy just the ME without the LPS?
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel Sure but I just found out the investment will be close to the Eversolo DMP A8 which holds already an LPS and SMPS. I seldom keep review samples of this value when offered but in the case of the Eversolo I wanted it as a reference since it is really very good sounding.
