This game was released 4 years before the Dark Knight. So the Joker quote is actually a Red Harlow quote.

Red Harlow. The only character is the Red Dead series that has no real need for money. A selfless character that only wants one thing. Whats owed to him. He lost his family, his home, the only real trace of his father being his Scorpion Revolver. And the only reminder is a scar burned into his hand. I want to see Red Harlow return in some way.
I had hoped he’d make an appearance in rdr2, as the year the games take place in add up with one another. Red will always be my favorite character

In the first game he was mentioned around a camp fire and how he won the battle royale and in the second as John a stranger tells John about Reds life. I know Rockstar won't make a single player DLC but atleast bring Revolver to PC or make a cameo thats more prominent
Maybe Red had a daughter Abigail, John's wife. Since Red was born in 1854, and Abigail born in 1877, that could be a possibility that he later married a woman and had god knows how many children since RD Revolver takes place in the early 1870s, well, I guess the legend lives on to Jack Harlow Marston. Hell, he too, probably got married and had Big Boss from Metal Gear and god knows how many as well.
@walker jfs yeah we never know what happen maybe he got a family, maybe he still a bounty hunter, maybe he retired and now is just a lonewolf or he died. Its fun to speculate he is my favorite red dead character better than john and Arthur he can even beat them too
This game is why NPCs in RDR and RDR2 talk about red around their campfires.

When I replayed this a few years ago I forgot jack swift died and he’s my second favorite red dead character right behind Red, and shadow wolf is a close 3rd for giving up his life for Reds journey. It’s always so sad ugh WHY HAHA

See the plan was for him to be uncle he even resembled uncle very very much but to the charecter model of uncle in rdr1 but the dev's changed uncle's backstory and made him into a funny main charecter in rdr2

Scars can heal, and I'm not assuming. There's plenty of consistencies between uncle and red, as well as in game references and conversations in rdr2 that hint at it.

ImCastorTroy8 Not really. The meaning of the games is actually pretty different now when it's called "Red Dead Redemption". If you've played both the redemption games and how they ended, it makes sense. Revolver is different and I think a better title for that should've been "Red Dead Revenge".

Glad I’m not the only one 😂 I broke my first PS2 controller playing this mission when I was 12. My mom got so mad at me and refused to replace it until Christmas came a few months later and she bought me a new one as one of my presents. Good times.

the living meme is this like a timeline of every rockstar game
GTA, Bully, L.A Noire and Red Dead can't be at the same universe, because Bully, L.A Noire and Red Dead use the real name of city's, and in GTA, all cities are a parody of real life. Example: In Bully, there's a glass that you can buy on the store called: "Hollywood Glasses" (I think that is the name), and, Hollywood is Vinewood in GTA.
So, these games can't be on the same universe.

Gustavow true but gta online constantly makes references to red dead redemption 2, the only game I think isn’t in the timeline is Bully, GTA5 also mentions real places too so yeah, and besides R* wants to tell us that there’s a clear connection atleast inbetween the HD GTAs and the Red Dead Series

That was Capcom's contribution to the original game's aesthetic, the Japanese love Spaghetti Western films and were trying to make an earnest homage to the genre. Rockstar acquired the rights to the game when it was half-developed, so they kept those aspects in game; but when they made their first top-to-bottom Red Dead game, they discarded the grainy filter and the Ennio Morriccone soundtrack.

When I rented this in middle school my final showdown went differently. I put 3 in his chest after the draw but he still somehow shot my Red. Red turned to clutch his chest and then I flicked the thumb stick and got the last round off and won. I thought it was scripted and supposed to happen that way because it felt fitting that Red’s determination and perseverance ultimately won out. Never got to try again to discover otherwise since (ugh showing my age here) I had to return it to Blockbuster after the credits.
And then red found out the horrible news of his crippling lumbago and thus he started another legend
Redemption tells us that revenge is not the way.
Revolver tells us otherwise.

I thought this would be a 9 minute boss fight but nope, 3 minute final mission and 6 minute long credits. Even if that isn’t much compared to today’s movies, tv and video games it still shows how many people it took to make games that seem so simple now.
