I think the use of repeated enemies in the haligtree supports it strongly in a thematic sense, as it was a place for many from outside to come and settle.
Its not lazy game design its "making enemies takes time and assets, and making enough enemies for every unique encounter would delay the game by half a decade." There's a big difference between being lazy and having to make tactical decisions.

@@youssefessam3164 If you are talking about stat spreads, then yes, there are like 5 builds. The game has less content, but the quality of every individual element is just superior to Elden ring. It’s condensed good experience that does not overstay its welcome. 30% of elden ring is riding the goat horse from point A to point B.
Shaded castle reminds me of monty python's holy grail, "he built a castle in a swamp, that castle sank, so he built another on top, that castle sank too" Also i feel like darkroot basin qualifies if youre including mohgs palace and lake of rot
Finally someone who appreciates Elphael as much as I do! I think having a lot of repeat enemies there really adds to the lore! As Miquella wanted that to be a place for everyone rejected by the Erdtree!
The only complaint I have with Leyndell is that once you defeat Maliketh, all exploration of the area is gone. Its not bad on subsequent playthroughs but it was something I realized later.
Didn't you forget the Ruin-Strewn Precipice in this video? It has an achievement for beating it, it is a unique location where you go from a mine to the side of a cliff and finally a ruin where you fight the Magma wyrm and it is one of the few ways to reach the Altus Plateau.
I should have included that and the Subterranean Shunning Grounds, both definitely fit the criteria of a legacy dungeon area. For Ruin Strewn Precipice its definitely a very interesting area and picking your way across the massive cliff-face was great.
Subterranean shunning grounds gets lumped in with Lyndell. I think it’s a testament to how vast Lyndell is, there’s this whole sewage system you can explore.
Don't forget the amasing view you get when reaching the site of grace on the top of the cliff. It's the greatest reward exploring that place. I love the towering locations like the Percepice.
My first playthrough I completely missed the volcano manor dungeon. I got to rykard through Tanith's Quest, and then later I saw it online, went in and realised I missed the door and this whole sprawling dungeon.
I LOVED the Halligtree. Spent so many hours there. Idk why but I kinda did Leyndelle too fast? I feel like I didn’t spent enough time there before pulverizing it. I felt like it couldn’t come a bit earlier in the game. For me Raya Lucaria ist the best place. Loved everything about it so so much. I screamed when I found castle Ensis in the DLC! :)

FYI. Redmane is in its normal castle state until you step foot in the Altus Plateau. The second you do that, Radahn festival begins and castle doesn't return to its old form until you talk to Jarren after killing Radahn.
I don’t think the Haligtree was meant to copy the Erdtree. It was meant to rival it. Miquella created it so that those who were shunned by the Erdtree/Golden Order had a place where they were embraced with compassion instead of turned away with disgust
I think the big reason stormveil and Leyndell always soar at the top of these lists is that they simply do the best job at combining the the game open-ended philosophy and the tightly designed locations of the old games which makes them feel so much bigger and interconnected. As good as the other legacy dungeons can be, they are much more linear and streamined which cause them to feel much smaller and less impressive compared to the big 2.
I much prefer him alone than having to deal with another of them in a trio. Commander Niall pissed me off so much that I just did the jump and quit skip to access CS, which apparently they patched out. I'd stopped using spirit summons because I felt like I was making really solid progression and I had to bite the bullet and level up a couple and just use magic and OP weapons to finally beat him. I'm never fighting that motherfucker fair.
I remember playing Elden ring when it first came out and feeling like i couldnt believe how well fromsoft had acclimated their formula to an open world, but also as if something had gotten lost in the transition and . Then i got to stormveil (i didnt realize weeping peninsula/castle morne were there before i got to stormveil) and my mind was just blown. Just a huge and intricate level that felt as big as any area in any of their prior games. Morgott beat my ass forever lol. Then you leave the dungeon and see the landscape in front of you in liurnia and it dawns on you really just how big the game seems to be. Just an incredible game. Honestly i would hope nintendo takes some notes on how fromsoft managed to merge old/new level designs and crafts some actual dungeons in their next game, how from handled merging those designs is basically exactly what i would want from zelda

My personal favorite area is the haligtree. It is absolutely beautiful. The fact that Malenia has 350 million deaths on players just shows how amazing she is and how awesome that area is too !
Given how massive the actual manor building is in Volcano Manor I was so disappointed how little of the dungeon is actually IN the manor - huge amount of game space totally wasted
My least favorite aspect of Volcano Manor is how the lava is completely non-threatening. Instant death would be too much, but it’s at about the level of DS1 lava with the Orange Charred Ring. Lava should have some measure of danger to it, not just chip damage.
The only problem with Elden ring I feel like is just the enemy usage and how they reuse a lot of them, and also how the mountain tops of the gaints is very vast and empty and when it’s not, it’s reusing enemy’s from before and it’s just a lack luster area with only castle sol and the cauldron being the highlights of those places as well also the portal too mohgwyns palace. Overall tho, that’s just a little bit of the entirety of the game and honestly that and the final boss are all I really have a problem with when it comes too the game, it’s easily a 9/10 game and just an amazing experience overall can’t wait too see them one up in the dlc
Wrong commander that's the guy in the middle of Aeonia Swamp. Niall is literally my most hated boss. Not even Malenia pissed me off more than that motherfucker. At least she's by herself and if you take the time to learn how to dodge Waterfoul, she's pretty intense in a fun way. Niall just pissed me off with that bullshit pinpoint tracking lightning jump attack.
I hated leyndell because I got lost SO MUCH, it's the most I've had to look up stuffs, I've missed most of the secret turns where they put the graces Leyndell is beautiful, but I'd rank it last just because I remember that getting lost feeling again
I just stopped playing elden ring when it first came out but recently played through and explored every nook and cranny. I stopped right at the fire giant, so imagine when you experienced that for the first time but imagine crumbling farum azula. I played through it and i was like how do i get that item. I feel as though its the best legacy dungeon in this game, and a close 2nd is leyndell, then storm veil and elphael.

Funny thing is when I think about Legacy dungeons I usually think there's, what, maybe 4 or 5 of them? And 2 of them suck. A lot of them on this list are just mini areas.
I actually didn't hate Lake of Rot. I think the sparseness of it fit the aesthetic. But I get why it's hated. Otherwise, I generally agree with this ranking. Also, gotta call you out for calling it Noskella instead of Nokstella haha
Don't know why ppl keep saying that dualsword knight in castle sol is the most difficult enemy in the game, don't you ppl knows how to parry? Knight enemies when they come one by one are a joke, only difficult ones can be the crucible, cause they are easy to miss the parry time
Haligtree and Leyndell (if we include Elphael and the SSG) are my favorites by quite a lot. Stormveil is kind of overrated, I'd rank it last of the Big Six, just below Raya Lucaria. Volcano Manor would have been my number 1 if more of it was accessible (I was kinda disappointed how much you can't access). Farum felt just right, tied at third with VM, but it has nothing on the size of the Haligtree and Leyndell
The first two they've revealed already sound better than most of the base game ones. I thought nothing would ever beat The Old Hunters for me but Shadow of the Erdtree is gonna be amazing. It's gonna take me forever to finish just like the base game (still have to beat the last 3 bosses) bc I'm trying to move up in my field, get my writing out there and start a new family, but I still preordered. I don't care if it takes me a couple of years to finish.
For me Leyndell isn’t number 1 for me simply because of the fact that you can’t explore it after finishing Farum Azula. It sucks that the coolest area is the only area in the game that you can’t go back to after a certain point.

I did all Limgrave, Liurnia, Caelid without entering Altus. Redmane was in Radahn Festival state. Idk what exactly triggers the festival.

For me Legacy Dungeons should be Stormveil, Raya Lucaria, Volcano Manor, Leyndell, Farum Azula, Miquella Haligtree & Ephael together, Redmane Castle, Belurant, Shadow Keep, Enir-Ilim, Castle Enis, Midra Mansion

The Shaded Castle was such a letdown. Basically just stairs leading to the boss...
I spent 6 hours in Stormveil Castle on my first playthrough
Funny thing is when I think about Legacy dungeons I usually think there's, what, maybe 4 or 5 of them? And 2 of them suck. A lot of them on this list are just mini areas.

I actually didn't hate Lake of Rot. I think the sparseness of it fit the aesthetic. But I get why it's hated. Otherwise, I generally agree with this ranking. Also, gotta call you out for calling it Noskella instead of Nokstella haha

I think it's awesome that so many players agree Stormveil and Leyndell are 1 and 2, I dont think I've seen better level design in a video game ever.

Don't know why ppl keep saying that dualsword knight in castle sol is the most difficult enemy in the game, don't you ppl knows how to parry? Knight enemies when they come one by one are a joke, only difficult ones can be the crucible, cause they are easy to miss the parry time

Haligtree and Leyndell (if we include Elphael and the SSG) are my favorites by quite a lot. Stormveil is kind of overrated, I'd rank it last of the Big Six, just below Raya Lucaria. Volcano Manor would have been my number 1 if more of it was accessible (I was kinda disappointed how much you can't access). Farum felt just right, tied at third with VM, but it has nothing on the size of the Haligtree and Leyndell
DLC Legacy dungeons gonna be crazy
The first two they've revealed already sound better than most of the base game ones. I thought nothing would ever beat The Old Hunters for me but Shadow of the Erdtree is gonna be amazing. It's gonna take me forever to finish just like the base game (still have to beat the last 3 bosses) bc I'm trying to move up in my field, get my writing out there and start a new family, but I still preordered. I don't care if it takes me a couple of years to finish.

For me Leyndell isn’t number 1 for me simply because of the fact that you can’t explore it after finishing Farum Azula. It sucks that the coolest area is the only area in the game that you can’t go back to after a certain point.
