Still doesn't excuse how it's an outlier relative to other dwarven stuff. Would've been cool if the dwemer had a light armor set that matched the bow, since I don't see a dwarven heavy armor wearing soldier ever using a normal bow
If you clicked on this video expecting an actual comparison with stats go to Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages then click on Skyrim Archery. It's really hard to say which is best because the ones that have the highest base damage tend to be the slowest. Also different bows have different trajectories so it kinda depends on what your style is. Also with smithing and enchantments you can basically make the base damage irrelevant.
yes we are when we click on a vid and expecting a Stat breakdown and get a Beauty contest, we be upset. like homie up top said, i get my Values Elder scroll skyrim info from UESP
The swords in Skyrim look either more like blunt objects you'd use for training or fragile pieces of metal that look like it'll shatter if you actually use them.
With the Ruins edge I wish they would math the detection level. Eye on the bow closed when hidden. Searching have it slowly blinking looking left and right slowly. When found it’s eye has surprising look, looking around frantically
@@dankmemelord414 This specific flaw is less them not caring about the game and more sony preventing them from doing anything more impressive. Everything after ruins edge? Yeah the team completely gave up afterwards but ruins edge and before were all varying levels of great but limited by sony.
The Supple Ancient Bow is one of my favorites. Just the idea of having that in my inventory makes me feel more bad ass. I love the looks and knowing that one of my possible Nord ancestors may have used it.
Since you seem to be including the Stuff from Anniversary Edition, I have a suggestion for when you get to 1 handed swords; Torment. A Daedric Longsword that you pry out of the hands of one of Dagon's top Dremmora IN THE BADLANDS!
Your video looks nice and slick, but I found light on the content/analysis. The weird iron thing on the Ancient Nord Bow can be used as a natural aiming point when not using a crosshair (while standing). Look for natural aiming points on other bows. All spikes on bows would be useful for bashing (in real life, anyway.) Still, a very slick presentation and your idea of doing "rankings" is a winner.
Missing: Zephyr (unique compound bow in the Aetherium questline), Dark Bow (complement to the Golden bow in CC - maybe considered a duplicate of Golden??)
Also now that I've watched this far: it gives you 20% faster draw and invisibility for 30 seconds every time you put it in your hand and does not need recharging with souls
Im a fan of the Glass Bow. Its a simple design but it does look like its a Real high quality bow. So I still use it even though there are higher danmging bows. I perfer light armor anyways too so it works out
The Daedric Bow in Morrowind was probably the most bad ass Bow design Elder Scrolls ever had. That thing looks like you could use it as a double sided sword/a Swallow. I'd love to see it come back and make it so that if you do the Bow bash, it does some legit damage.
there is this mod called "real bows" that changes everything making it for me anyway a must have because the native bows of Skyrim are as you have pointed out clunky and impossible looking and I love archery and the look of a well made recurve bow is a thing of beauty to me
I would have to say my only complaint is the exact complaint I have about all bows in Skyrim and most games in general, functionally none of them would shoot an arrow more than a few feet cause none of them bend, the string isn’t what give a bow its power, it’s the limbs pulling the string forward. I agree with the Nordic bow being beautiful, and if could make a bow irl like that I would, but the thick steel limbs would prevent it from bending much if at all
every playthrough i use bound bow. dont want to buy arrows? you're good. want to soul trap on kill? you're good. want to banish deadra? you get the point....its good.
I just used a restoration loop blacksmith weapon upgrade to a dark seducer bow because I couldn't find a bow I liked. One shot kill on everything when I get annoyed. Still have yet to find that bow with increased fire rate.
The stalhrim bow has one flaw I cant Unsee, the Part were u knock the arrow, it is to Low, take a Look at it all other bows are more elevated at that Part, becuase obviously Ur Hand is on the grip, meaning the arrow rests further up on the hand so this part needs to be higher to, wich means the arrow on the stalhrim bow is knocked into the string Not the Part made for it
While the Forsworn Bow is ugly (looks like grasshopper legs tied together with knotted hemp), it is a good bow and always my go-to early game. You can always pick up one at either Kolskeggr mine or Broken Tower Redoubt in the Reach.
It's not on your list, but crossbows are technically bows, too, and should have had at least an honorable mention. The longbow is a simple straight bow, such as the Celts and Native Americans used hundreds of years ago. The hunting bow introduces the recurve limbs which added additional power to your shot. The Nordic bow looks to be a compound "take-down" bow, and THAT'S the template I feel they should have used for the Dwarven bows. Say what you will about the Forsworn bows, they are the best early-on bow you can get, if you can lay your hands on one, because of their base 12 damage, as opposed to the longbow's base 6 and the hunting bow's base 7. This can be a real game-changer until you can find or smith a better bow yourself; and it only takes a steel ingot to temper.
I can't agree with your take on yhw dwarven bow. As you've said, dwarves are all about function and practicality, but they also take immense pride in their craft. Y'know what they wouldn't do because of these traits? Put structural weak points on their bows for the sake of aesthetics. It's a simple recurve bow that could easily be mass-forged with some molten metal and molds in a factory. Solid and reliable, just like all their other weapons.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you struggled to stave off the draw to make those puns, well tillered as they are. They do improve, almost like a character arc(hery). Okay I'm just compounding the problem, I should recurve my awful puns, fletching as I find them, as they may be bodkin some here. Anyway, must bolt! Arrows.
I noticed you never mentioned the imperial 🏹 bow and at the bottom of my list don't have one but I have heard from other people saying this i don't know yet that the long bow 🏹 is the hardest to use i just use the bound bow free arrows and also noticed you did mention the invisible bow either
So does this mean you'll remake all the other rankings to add the creation club stuff?..... because the madness set in my opinion has one of the best weapons sets in game
Though one might take issue with your apparent thicc-ness-based bow-dy shaming, I find your content compelling. Your obvious intimate knowledge of the in-game implements precludes reducing your commentary to mere arch shots, though further apparent is your arch bent…yada yada yada, arch-ery. Consider me compelled.
All the bows are 0/10 because I’m left handed Amber bow looks more like real life ebony wood which I find very ironic Had a good chance to say “this bow puts the ass in Glass” lol I continue to enjoy disagreeing with your picks lol, Nordic now looks a bunch of iron planks bolted together for me
Don’t forget Nord hero this time:…u promised me….. You kept that promise…and gave me a shout out???my man Also you missed zephyr, and here’s a suggestion ….a video about crusader gear
7:39 "dwemer bow looked elven to me" that might be because Dwarves were elves, they're literally named DweMERS.
Which iirc translated to “Deep Elves”
Still doesn't excuse how it's an outlier relative to other dwarven stuff. Would've been cool if the dwemer had a light armor set that matched the bow, since I don't see a dwarven heavy armor wearing soldier ever using a normal bow
Making it more mechanical like a compound bow would have been cool considering the dwarves made big awesome killing machines......
@@shrek6869 great point actually

“‘nock’ out” was my favorite
“All the bows seem too thick.”
I mean…a lot of stuff in Skyrim is just a little too thick. Like many characters’ skulls.
Yeah, skyrim people didn't get all the way to homo sapien they made it to like cro magnun
The swords in Skyrim look either more like blunt objects you'd use for training or fragile pieces of metal that look like it'll shatter if you actually use them.
I can’t unsee the golden bows 💈 barbershop handle
Now I can’t unsee it either…
The Dwarven Black Bow of Fate looks more like a Nightingale Bow than the actual Nightingale Bow 💀
Its definitely more intimidating
With the Ruins edge I wish they would math the detection level. Eye on the bow closed when hidden.

Short!? That's going in the book umgi!
I think they make bad bows ugly because it would feel real shit of a bow with 10 dmg look cool but a now with 100 dmg looks boring
why would the falmer care what their bows look like? They're blind
Would you mind making a crossbows ranked list? It would be pleasant

One if my favorites is the bow from the Hammerfell Armory mod. It was some nice artistic touches without being crazy in basic design.
