    Wow, I have one of these I bought second hand in the mid-90:s, a great camera I shoot a lot still. Never realized there's so much electronics inside, luckily mine still works perfectly and I have a nice KM as a spare in case the ME Super ever breaks down.

    I was gifted 2 of these and one works perfectly, the other has this issue with the film advance. I recently got an all black version which also has that problem so will be trying to fix them both soon.

    Hey, any advice in regards to a stuck mode dial? My dial can move freely through the various shutter modes, however it is totally stuck in bulb no matter the dial position…

    thank you for the video! this is my first ME Super, if you can believe that since I'm an old girl. I've never had any issues with my KX or K1000s I've had since the 70s-80s but yeah this I bought for $25. I will fix it. 😁

    Maybe repairing cameras is not for everyone, and right now any complex reparation is certainly not for me, but I always learn something watching this kind of vídeos, so thanks for your videos.
    This may be a silly sugestion, but it would be great to see you doing a vídeo teaching who to glue back a mirror on an SLR. I have an Olympus OM40 (my first camera) and the mirror just unglued from the camera. I know it’s a simple reparation, but I’m afraid of doing it myself (especially since it’s essential to glue it in the exact same space, to mantain accurate focus), and I don’t really don’t want to send the camera to a repairman for such a simple thing.

      It's definitely a commitment of time and focus that not everyone can afford. Don't even get me started on the specific tool costs 😅 But I'm glad you enjoy the videos and I appreciate you watching them!
      I welcome all suggestions and getting a mirror back on can be tricking depending on the camera, sometimes there's a physical locking mechanism as well as the glue to keep the mirror in place and if that is messed up then focus could be off and the mirror would likely fly off again. I'd have to look at an OM40 to give you more specific help but I'd be more than happy to help you get it fixed up. Thanks for reaching out!

    Trying to follow your tutorial as I have the same issue with mine it seems. What tool are you using at 1:20 to take the winder off? Struggling to take that part off without the proper tool. Thank you!

      Terrible shot of the tool I apologize but those are my Rosary Pliers I believe I got them off amazon and used a dremel to sharpen the tips a little bit.

      @RompingBronco  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching! It is unfortunately a very common issue in ME Supers in particular. I was able to get this one fixed but I'd be happy to walk you through the repair method

      @@constantindanieltira Ah I see, I would have probably recommended using the method where you try and free up the mirror box charging lever, but this may be a bridge too far. If you wouldn't mind emailing me some photos of where you are at with it I could hopefully walk you through it a bit better then!

    Thank you very much for your videos, I really enjoy them, as i like messing around with machines :D. I recently got a ME super with the same issue, I haven't been able to fix it from the bottom, so i will have to take the box out to reach better the stuck leaver. Are you planing on releasing part 2 of the video?
    I put some new LR44 batteries, but nothing happened, it seems it olso have some electric problems too... any suggestion on this?
    Have a nice day!
    Rafa.

      Thank you for watching! I didn't end up recording a part two unfortunately but one of my recent videos shows me addressing an ME Super with an electrical issue and swapping out shutters so you may get a lot of help from that, I would try to short out the circuit board with a pair of tweezers jumping the metal contact and the power wire to the board and see if that wakes up the camera at all. If that doesn't you may have a few bad contacts or some components of the camera may be a little fried. It's hard to say, feel free to reach out if you need anymore help!

    Does the U.S. spell "soldering iron" differently- I ask since every time one is mentioned it is pronounced "sawdering iron" apparently entirely missing out the letter "L". As for "lever" which we say as "lee ver" the US appears to say "lev er", omitting the long double "ee". Weird.

    • @danem2215
      @danem2215 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Spelled the same. I suspect it has something to do with the French etymology: "souder;" ultimately from Latin "solider." Ironic since American English usually bypasses French in favor of the Latin root ( The "u" in words like color are from French; the Latin root is simply "color")

    I'm with you, it's frustrating, but aren't you just paying for transportation and everything else is at the discretion of the airline? Including your seat? I'm too lazy to read the terms, but I'm sure they would have a claws for that, just so they have the ability to move people around if necessary.
