Among the many star franchises of Nintendo, there exists a few that have been forgotten to time. One of those is Kid Icarus a franchise that believe it or not is as old as some of the other legendary Nintendo Franchises. The question becomes then...What happened to it? Why was it that unlike Mario, Zelda, Metroid...Kid Icarus failed to prosper. Today we look to recount its story, and figure out why its become Nintendo's fallen angel.

If Kid Icarus uprising does get a switch port, Then lets hope that it doesn't get a $59.99 price tag like literally every other switch port except for the Metroid prime remaster.

Damn, Nintendo really rebooted this franchise, got a ton of critical acclaim, only to shove it back in a drawer somewhere and act like it doesn’t exist
Kid Icarus is Metroid's little brother and Metroid is Kid Icarus' big sister.
I think it''s sweet and if ever there'll be a Smash Bros. movie in the future, it'd be wholesome to see Pit and Samus having a bro/sis moment together ♥️

Another example of "sales aren't the main thing they keeps a game series going, it's just having a dev with street cred that wants to do more with it".
KIU is my favorite videogame ever in all honesty, and the one I've poured the most hours out of all games. I still remember back when the online was incredibly active and I'd stay up all night playing in different groups made especifically for Uprising online play.

He didn’t even want to make smash sequels he just didn’t want Nintendo to make them or port them to newer consoles
I love the series as well, But Sakurai explained in an interview years ago, That he put everything he had in kid Icarus uprising and MAYBE in another 25 years will another kid Icarus game come out. At the time, i was devastated. Now i can remember the source so just look up "kid Icarus uprising interview" or "Will there be another kid Icarus gane?".

Kid Icarus unfortunately doesn't have a dedicated development studio for the series similar to Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, etc. If they are able to get a studio to stick with the series and not just be there once like with Project Sora for Uprising, then it could maybe get more games without huge droughts, but we'll see
There has to be someone there who could find a studio for them outside of Sora Ltd.
@@erickmaverick3128 Maybe Bandai Namco? They are still apparently working on a remake of a 3D Action Game that we still don’t know about yet. It could either be Uprising or Starfox Assault, they worked on the latter in the past.

For every new Direct, some form of Kid Icarus Uprising reboot or even just a port has been something I’ve anticipated , and every time I’ve been disappointed lmao
I always thought maybe Kid Icarus would make a decent Ratchet and Clank style platformer.
Always wondered what a Kid Icarus Open World game would look like, with Kid being able to fly and all it kinda leans itself into that being the main feature.
One of Pit's things is that he can't fly. He needs to be granted the Power of Flight, which only lasts five minutes, or else his wings burn up.

Bro the 3ds game is so good
The issue with uprising is that it was so dependent on the 3DS, that i can't imagine a sequel without remaking the controls, look and other stuff all over again.
it sounds like a lot of work to do so for a game like Kid icarus
What I love most about this game is that it was a one and done. It doesn't need a sequal, what it needs is a switch port.
Nintendo should make a 2D side scrolling Kid Icarus for Switch, entitled Super Kid Icarus: An homage to the SNES game that was in development in the early '90s but never completed.
At least i played the gamemode light vs dark (pit vs dark pit) once last time until the servers shut down..😢 i really want this game ported over someday. Also i miss the spotpass palutena gives you a weapon once in a while before they discontinued that early on...
Uprising is great. This series needs a serious comeback.
Uprising is literally my favorite game. I've enjoyed this game more than any other I've ever played.

If Anything, I Want To See Nintendo Do A Anime Series Like Pokemon And Sonic Or A Animated CGI Movie Or Live-Action Movie Like They Did With Mario, Sonic And Pikachu.

@@SonicTheCutehog The first kid Icarus was literally one of the first games I’ve ever played. I have literally all the games and still play uprising to this day. I don’t only care about uprising, I care about the whole series

I love Kid Icarus Uprising a lot, but I do so so much that I hate Its few flaws that ruins the game, and that Is so Sakurai to make these little flaws make someone hate the game >:(

Considering there's a remake of a 3rd person action game in the works with Bandai Namco and Nintendo, this could be a sign that Kid Icarus is being ported. Considering Sakurai has worked with Bandai Namco and Nintendo for Smash Ultimate, this could be a sign that a new game is close
Bandai is working on a 3D action game and kid Icarus is not one of them
My second 3DS game ever and the game that I played more than Ocarina of Time 3D. I truly love the game for story(pretty iconic) and its gameplay even tho my hands hurt now when I try to play it on my OG Flame Red 3DS.

Maybe Sakurai will surprise us in a TH-cam video, Twitter Shadowdrop (like Nintendo did with that 1-2 Switch Sequel), or if and whenever Nintendo decides to do a full on Direct. The only big switch game left is Pikmin 4.
Dantes devine inferno...pit flew too close to the sun on the isle of crete with his wings his father gave him and attached with wax and it melted and he fell to the underworld where he must escape to the over world to defeat medusa and save palutena but his mirror turned medusa to stone. He was a sword weilder not a bowman. Its a myth in itself. Uprising get it, go up to the overworld. Gotta love that hat in the nes version

Kid Icarus' is the third in my Metroid Zelda best memories of Nintendo. It's a shame he wasn't loved more than what it is. It's another way Nintendo can print money if they make a new one. Video game directors cuts made cool nostalgia videos if u look em up. U may need the way back machine

The game is already death. There will not be a franchise. I can only say to fans: look for another game, for Nintendo Mario and Zelda are the only important franchises.
