Yes, I'm bad but hey hopefully that makes for a more enjoyable video. Why am I typing this out if anyone is going to be reading it, well if you are...you're a legend! - เกม
Anyone that complains someone isn't good at the game when they went through the effort to play that much for a single video, is petty and ungrateful, enough said.
I enjoy the effort you put into these videos. Great time tuning in.
LOL appreciate it and thanks for the comment. It doesn't bother me though, anyone that puts themselves out there is gonna get shit on in some regard. I could have made the video with all my best races, but it would hardly prove anything...especially about a video that's discusses the hardest cups and why. Trying to prove I'm some pro or what not is never the point, but I'm glad there's people out there that appreciate it regardless of the apparent 'skill level' so thank you
Feels kinda strange how the easiest cup in the bcp just randomly gets one of the hardest tracks in the game.
Which cup and track is that bruh-
Sorry I didn't realize that these comments were being displayed for another video because of a glitch Im sorry XD
@@2u29wjiowk2iswjI assume the Lucky Cat cup with Ninja Hideaway
12:26 in 200cc you can outpace the blue shell. You need to keep boosting your speed by drifting or using mushrooms (which can be better used to dodge it outright) but running from a blue shell is a pretty fun thing to do
7:52 actually the glider shroom was added in mk7
this was extremely entertaining to watch, and the amount of effort you put into this is just insane
Thank you!
Can we appreciate that this guy played 2.400 tracks for this video? Thats insane
I feel like Moonview Highway is so easy now because of how hard it was in Wii. Like it just felt like the roads were packed with cars and so many of them would be hidden behind other ones making you make sharp turns while blind to the oncoming traffic ready to flatten you. So I think they toned down the traffic patterns, which really opens up the turns and makes the track a lot easier.
I do think that maybe the difficulty lowering was kinda overdone, especially when MK8’s game engine inherently makes returning tracks way easier
The blue mushroom was added in MK7, not MKTour.
The what
In mushroom gorge
@@ludwigdudeiscool oh ok
@@nerdlywackoon the slower path, instead of Wii’s mushroom path, 7 replaced that with a blue glider mushroom
@@ludwigdudeiscoolmy favorite item, the blue mushroom
In all seriousness, I almost thought this was some elaborate joke
I feel VINDICATED. When i was 100% the booster course cups i was STRUGGLING so hard on the cherry cup. Glad to know someone else found it as hard as i did
Something I noticed about your driving is that you drift on every turn. If a turn isn’t that curved or long you don’t need to drift. Like at 2:41 on Choco Mountain.
Why wouldn’t you for speed?
@@flypengu1n515 In the example OP showed, it is much faster to initiate a right drift there, rather than splitting it into two separate drifts. The startup of the drift will swing you to left, just enough to clear the wall, and allows for a tighter turn. Starting the right drift early also lets you get a super mini-turbo, or even an ultra mini-turbo rather than just blue sparks, giving much more speed around the next straightaway! Similar turns to this one appear in DS Wario Circuit, GCN Yoshi Circuit, and 3DS Neo Bowser City, notably.
Hope this helps!
Another banger video! Thanks for putting yourself through the torture to get it done!
this is amazing i can't imagine the amount of effort it took to make this! proud to be one of the 5 aussies watching this video
Same here!
Pro tip: If you’re playing on inside drift or on 200cc and have to go through consecutive turns you can cancel your mini-turbo after your drift by briefly releasing the A button for the drift to cancel and then start your next drift by releasing the left bumper and pressing it down again but you can’t cancel your drift if you have auto accelerate on
13:14 don't worry about doing stuff like that, when I tried mario kart 8 deluxe for the first time, I kept just drifting off, as in just forgetting I was playing mario kart and just thinking about other stuff. And even now when I have stopped doing that as often as I used to, I still keep driving straight into bananas even when I see them long in advance.
For me Fruit Cup was easily the hardest when I was doing them, I struggles so much more to 3 star it then any other cup. DK Summit being the main culprit, the cpus seem very good on that track. At least I really like all 4 tracks in that cup, so I didn't mind playing it a lot.
Fruit Cup honestly might be my favorite not just in the Booster Course Pass, but in all of Mario Kart 8.
Friken Dk summit is the only reason I don’t have 3 stars in every cup in the game
I was waiting for this. FINALLY
They seriously nerfed Moonview highway.
A lot less traffic and slower + wider road
Bro is speaking facts
you're really good at this, idk how i could ever compete
as an aussie, i fucking love this channel, keep up the good work 🫶
I love your mario kart videos!
This is incredible
When I was 100%ing the BCP, I would always get 2nd place at any one of the propeller cup's tracks. Did abt 20 attempts until I beat it with 3 stars. After that, I proceeded to win every single race left
I find this interesting because it brings up the question: what does it mean for a track to be difficult?
Like, maybe mushroom gorge is easy, because it has wide turns, is pretty easy to not fall off if thats your main goal, and most players who have even a basic idea of the games mechanics can win against cpus without practice.
But you could also say its very difficult, because to get a decent time trial you not only need super bounces, soft drifting, and very specific alignments... but to get a trial that even begins to count then you need to gap jump. This is where you set up a specific alignment coming out of the gorge, land with a drift, activate it, then mushroom with a hop to skip the entire last turn. Thats a doosy of a tech to be functionally required.
Or maybe the track is even easier than the first one thought? Because if you CAN gap jump, then any race vs cpus or similarly skilled friends will be a completely free win.
9:47 Fun fact: Dispite living in the Alpine region, in German the name of the tracks has nothing to do with the alps. It's called "Gebirgspfad" ≈ Mountainpath
You are getting better at this game and second
9:06 The blue shell that was circling above you actually knocked the chain chomp upwards, which is why you didn't get hit haha. It does this to most track obstacles, saving you while plotting your demise in order to be the sole reason you throw your controller.
Hope this helps!
NOOOOOO HE FORGOT THE GLIDE MUSHROOM IN MUSHROOM GORGE WAS ADDED IN 7
So much dedication, I can’t imagine how long this must’ve took
The racing itself took months haha
W video
Love the vids
14:37 I can assure you 99% of people don't even know where that meme comes from. But as a Canadian, I do. Those guys are from an ad for Wiser's Whiskey. "Welcome to the Wiserhood", mo fo's!
I FINALLY got the booster course pass for christmas, and for me, the fruit cup was the hardest, followed by the moon and rock cups. I actually beat the spiny cup first try (while only getting first), unless you count my TV disconnecting as a loss, but the fact that I beat the first half again without getting 2nd further proves that it wasn't hard for me (despite being a noob)
I'm not sure if an arithmetic mean really says all that much for the ranks, since ranks are ordinally scaled. A median and/or mode might be more meaningful way of expressing track difficulty.
almost every single track has a median and mode placement of 1st, you would get an almost meaningless ranking
A review on Mario Kart 8 Booster Pass, Let's go
I found the cherry cup to be quite easy.
He told us, he has a skill issue.
15:04 I like how Bangkok rush is one of the easiest tour tracks for you yet it’s one of my worst tracks lol
The fact that your raging from dying once tells me you’ve destroyed a ton of controllers
Ello Aussie here to say hi and mad respect for the 50 hours or so required to just get the footage for this video
The Cherry cup is the hardest? What the fuck lmao
Mario kart Wii was such a banger game ngl, so many good tracks
amsterdam drift is so hard on 200cc. so many 90 degree turns in a row
14:42 As one of the five Australians watching, let's rise up
Probably the spiny cup -me before watching
As a fellow Australian I can say that it Sydney Sprint is kinda difficult on 200cc
And yes its called Alpine Pass
Piranha Plant Cove isn’t a new course. It’s a Tour original. That’s why it has changing routes
i've been mostly out of the loop when it comes to mario kart ever since mario kart 8 released back in... what, was it 2014? jeez, that doesn't feel right. anyway, i've been getting back into it recently and i still haven't adjusted to sydney being in mario kart of all things. i mean, i don't live near the harbour, but there's a lot of stuff to see. it feels weird seeing places i've admired kelp and herons become a chaotic hybrid of both a road and a warzone, but in a kind of good way honestly. i feel like other than australia being upside down, constantly on fire, not real and the most hostile continent on the planet it's actually pretty obscure. like, no one lives here. i'm in a sea of crazy americans who are afraid of the letter u and think public transport is a bad thing. it's nuts.
anyway this is a pretty neat video! don't think i have much smart to say after that, really
I like Toad Circuit. It's nice to have simple tracks as well as complex ones for a better balance.
One time I was on sky garden I did the final jump gliderless. I had a mushroom but I still don't know how I did it again
1:11 DOUBLE FIRST!!
Do you plan to do more Rise and Fall videos? If I can suggest, what about the rise, fall and resurrection of Fire Emblem?
I did this same experiment, but i had 60/60 points for each cup all 50 times
Also I feel like the results would be real different if it were in 150cc
7:49 19:35 Well, someone has never played Mario Kart 7 before.
2 things:
1. ppc is not a fresh new track lol, its a tour track
2. i honestly will never understand how la laps got as high a score as a 2.08 XD
Interesting.
I play 200cc exclusively, so I funnily enough had more trouble getting triple stars on the booster course cups at 150cc and mirror, failing over and over.
But at 200cc, it was a breeze, two or three tries if needed.
And you should give yourself more credit, the early Tour city tracks are heavily flawed. Downright cheap if you ask me.
Forgot they call rock rock mountain Alpine pass in the british version of this game
I don't know why you said Waluigi Pinball is easy. Going into that final section with the pinballs flying around is literally like walking into no man's land...
The skill diference between the first video and this is crazy. Very well done
Can’t believe there were so many people just being that mean to u in your previous vid. Sorry about that man.
“ not nearly as difficult as the 3ds iteration”
Gets only a 0.04 difference between the two
If yousee this can you tell me if you know certain shortcuts such as the dk mountain gapcut and just dont do them for simplicity or something else
might be one of the 5 aussies
14:40 I’m Aussie Number 1
People who say you are bad.... Are actually proving why this data is the best. Not to insult you though, but this offers a good average for your average player. Imagine if a pro did this, itd be way different!
13:38 dk summit is a way better name
200 cc can be alot easier if u just dont always trick
I'm claiming my spot as one of the 5 aussies watching this
What is brake drifting (is that even a thing) because Noone mentions it ever
Its when you hold the breaks while you drift
12:52 Is it actually called DK's Snowboard Cross where you live? In the US, it's DK Summit.
yeah! i believe it’s snowboard criss for the UK and Oceania 👌
Question, did you play each TRACK 50 in a row or each CUP 50 in a row
Doesn’t matter
That would still be playing every track 50 times in a row-
Tbh Alpine Pass sounds way better than Rock Rock Mountain
I ❤️ you
You still didnt play very well but this is kinda accurate
Why has literally noone played 7? It's my favorite by a mile.
wanna hop on mk8 sometime?
Rock cup is the hardest because it rock
0:23 I'll be your friend :)
The fact that Nintendo decided to bring back one of the laziest courses in Toad Circuit, along with WAY too many MK Tour courses (IMO at least), makes me think that for half of the courses that got picked for this DLC pack, the higher ups were simply throwing darts at Post-it Notes hanging on a wall while blindfolded and went with whichever ones they hit. That being said, they did do good in the end by giving the 3DS and Wii Rainbow Roads GORGEOUS HD glow ups
As a fellow Australian I can say that that joke was funny. Claim your spot Aussies
👇
I’m an Aussie
If this video shows anything, it’s that you don’t know how to do city tracks lol. Great video tho
Fruit cup is the hardest for me.
Same, Not gonna lie.
Isn't a newbie the perfect candidate to judge the difficulty of a game?
why can i only tell you're australian in your gameplay clips
You didnt metion why its called dk snowboard cross and not Dk mountain
it’s because he has the australian version 👌
Wtf is alpine pass and dk's snowboard cross?
It's the European versions of rock rock mountain and dk summit
Wait? So you actually played 600 cups for this video? Or 2,400 races?
he played each cup 50 times
@@StarfishGoneToxic yep. 50x12= 600. The time and patience required for that is absurd
Isnt this term and well the whole video subjective
Yeah just my own little experiment that I did. About 90% of videos on this platform are subjective.
I’m Actually Pretty Good At MK8
200cc isn't built for the game
christ this game was not made for 200cc. it feels more like a bonus goofy mode than a main mode.
and i know we cant really avoid the snes courses, but most of them feel like a waste. only like 2 of them are enjoyable, and theyre all too easy
😡😡😡😡😡😡gost because he said the gilder mushroom was in mario kart tour but it’s not does mean that two people pinot it. Out 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
My guy, there is no way you played race track 50 times
Good vid tho
Can’t wait and first
Why do you censor and uncensor cuss words at random? Its so annoying watching this in the living room and the swear word is censored then not. Like brooo-
Am I the only one who is annoyed by him not calling it correctly
Holy jesus you are indeed bad at the game
You have big skill issue, I win 200ccs first try
Is it supposed to be a flex? If so, not really that much of a flex... To some, maybe a big flex, but to nearly 75% of the Mario Kart community, not a flex.
you are still bad tbh
You sound like you trying to BARELY make any noise, leading to this strangely restrained sounding vocal fry, and it's annoying. Mouth sounds too close to the mic, leading to a weirdly intimate sound.
