So advice to you for other people that you influence, at the start of your videos, any, remember folks! Don’t buy 540 needle roller, the needles are larger. Look at my 192 needle roller on my website where the needles are same the entire length. 540 needles are triangular shape. So please, do this, I know people that are scarred and you’re causing this. If your head is bleeding additional blood including growth factors is being sent to your scalp which will pass through/impact follicles. There is no need to use anything over 1mm.
Truthfully, I've noticed better results with a deeper depth - 1.5 to 2.0 mm with a Derma-Pen. It's painful and bleeds a lot, but seems to 'wake up' my follicles better than a shallower depth. I use a lidocaine topical numbing spray before using the Derma-Pen - and it's still pretty uncomfortable.
I think when doing it to depth of 1.5 or more makes the dead cells Below the hairshaaft come to life.these cells die when dht hits them hard known as apoptosis.anything less will stimulate the hair follicles stem cells located near the sebaceous glands
@@f3rnandope529 yeah if you put a slight bit of pressure it definitely feels like getting a tattoo on your scalp. I bleed a decent amount too , if I rotate on one spot for over 5-8 seconds
Comparing the diagrams at 4:30 and 5:20, it would seem that bulge hair follicle stem cells are located in between two layers of blood vessels, one above and one below. Thus, one would assume that a sufficient needle length to target the bulge layer would need to draw some blood - the needles would have to penetrate at least the upper layer of blood vessels (4:30). Given that scalp skin thickness may vary between individuals, one could experiment with needle depth to find the length that is long enough to draw blood, but short enough to minimize healing time. Furthermore, needle lengths that do not draw blood may be assumed to be insufficient to stimulate the bulge hair follicle stem cells. (I am not a doctor.)
I used a 1.5mm for the past 9 months. Dreaded doing it every 2 weeks cuz it really hurts and I’m a baby. I’m pressing hard though and feeling the needle fully penetrate to its full depth. There’s blood everywhere. I just switched to a 1mm. Way less painful. My head still bleeds just as much with a 1mm. Every single pin point bleeds. I’m pressing firmly so the needle actually goes 1mm depth. If you’re using 1.5 and softly pressing, it’s probably only penetrating 0.5mm depth. Why not use a smaller size and firmly press? This would ensure that needle actually goes the intended depth. You might as well use a 10mm needle if you’re just going to gently press it against your head…
An advice from my personal experience, i would recommend the 12 pin cartridge in stead of the 36 pin cartridge for the dermapen. I have used them both and the 36 pushes like it is one stamp, while the 12 really penetrates the skin, as you would like to with microneedling
Hi Lars, would you mind please elaborating a bit more on the concept? Not having totally clear what's the difference between 36 and 12 pins in terms of skin penetration, and why 12 pins would penetrate more as I seem to understand from you. If you could explain bit more, would be great. Thanks!
@@jackics6540 image several needles close together. Naturally their force will be more evenly distributed so they will push the scalp down and the device up. Compare with less needles and they will sink easily into tre scalp. See it as standing on a spike mat (36) vs standing one a single nail (12) which one will more easily go into your foot.
@@litjellyfish That's a quite interesting concept, thank you all for replying. Would definitely require some research I feel. Ideally some testing and comparison of results 36 vs 12. Could you please advise in any case where to buy 12 pins individual needles? Have some links to Amazon or such to post? Would be great as well.
@Tod L Thanks for replying. If you would know where to eventually buy 12 pins individual needles, would be great if you could post a link to Amazon or such. Thanks guys!
When microneedling are you only trying to achieve scalp redness and not draw blood? For instance, when using a 1.5mm microneedling device, the full length must penetrate your skin. Meaning that you must apply the maximum pressure needed for the whole 1.5mm needle to go in right? If so, It's impossible not to get bloody.
Yeah I'm still struggling with this. Too much pressure makes the device almost bounce off my skin. I took a break to figure out depth/penetration before resuming
To be honest, the epidermis is 0.5mm so anything past that by using a 1.5mm with moderate pressure enough to evoke erythema/pinpoint bleeding should potentially penetrate the dermis layer and stimulate the hair follicle stem cell bulge. I've seen people who bleed as well as people who only get redness/pinpoint bleeding. I guess to be sure you're targeting the bulge 100%, you can go as high as 2.5mm and while the full 2.5mm depth isn't theoretically puncturing the scalp, there's no doubt that you'd be hitting the bulge even with moderate pressure.
The needle length is so variable, at least with manual (non-electronic) devices. Even if you use a 2mm needle, you'll have areas where you didn't press as hard and only achieved a depth of 1mm.
Great video. I was recommend PRP injections for hair growth, but the cost of $799 treatment every 3 months FOREVER seemed excessive so I started researching other options. I’ve had face microneedling performed before, and on the scalp it makes a lot of sense in comparison to what PRP offers - which is basically injection of growth cells taken from your own blood that they draw and inject with a needle. This seems like another way that promotes that blood to be targeted to the scalp for hair regrowth through the needling into the skin layers - where blood and growth cells will start to build up to repair and rebuild.
I did PRP, 6 sessions (3 over 2 months, then 3 about 6 months later) i only paid $400 for all 6 sessions in Ecuador. I did notice small hairs regrowing but it never made a huge noticeable difference. Now that i'm in the US and seeing the prices of everything here i feel better about doing it then, but its been a couple years and the effects are long gone.
I think it's sort of a nice to have but shouldn't be the go to. I've read some studies that couldn't tell if the effects were from the PRP or from the fact that you're basically microneedling to get the prp in.
You didn't cover scarring as a potential side affect on the long-term, and that's the reason why some expert do not recommend longer needles and too frequent sessions (eg. Gary Linkov). Scarring can work against hair growth and make hair replacement therapy more difficult later.
I will add that th studies usually mention using a moderate pressure. A 1.5 mm derma roller will not have the needles piercing the skin that the barrel of the roller is touching the skin. The studies also do not mention bleeding. I keep reading in these comments of people doing it wrong an quite possibly destroying their hair follicle.
@@lastyeartosavemyhair The barrel that holds all the needles should not be pressed so hard that the needles cant be seen. If I do that I have 100 bloody pin holes. Its to deep and can damage the hair follicle.
@@superchampable it all depends. Bleeding is not a problem. You need to get deep enough. All depends on your scalp thickness etc. but if the layer you want is 2 mm deep down you need to make sure it goes down there
@@litjellyfish Id advise against it but do what you want. Also, I don't want to end up being a bald guy with a bunch of scares from microneedling to deep.
@@superchampable i only do what the studies says actually. Why would you go bald? I am saying do so the needles goes down 1-2mm into the skin. Which is what is needed. For some people that create bleeding for some not. Also why would you get scarring? If you use a Dermapen you needles goes straight down puncturing to he skin with a fine small hole. If that hole is 0.5mm or 1.5mm deep will not make a difference scarring wise. What makes a difference of course if you don’t allow the wound to heal properly THAT can create scarring. Problem is that those who waste their time and risk scarring by not microneedling to deep. As this video abs several other mention.

there are things that i wanna ask about it; -how do you know if the needle needs to be replaced already ? -how do i know if i did the micro needling process correctly ? i noticed hairs growing on my temples but the problematic area for me is the crown i dont notice anything significant on the crown part yet but i noticed alot of dead skin falling off
I did by mistake apply Minoxidil shortly after needling and got reduced heart capacity .... be careful. I had to actually rest directly on the pavement a few minutes after very lightly physical activity, I had this terrible sensation that the heart could not keep up ... However applying Minoxidil the day after the problem was resolved
The study showed 0.6mm worked better than 1.2mm. So why on earth would you use 1.5mm? Maybe the reason 1.2mm did not work as well as 0.6mm is because it caused injury to some hair follicles. Also, the company Follica, which has been doing research for it's own products, recommends 0.8mm. I would assume they tried depths greater than 1.0mm in their research and found deeper is not better. I wouldn't go more than 1.0mm until more studies come out.
@@robertoirizarry6971 check the video. And the studies. Once every second week is recommended. Once every week if you are a quick healer. Basically your scalp need to be fully healed before you wreck havoc on it again :) 1-2-3 weeks

Great video as always! I have been microneedling with 1.5mm Dr. Pen M8 for the past 5 months along with twice daily minoxidil. Interestingly, I saw great results within the first two months. However, I have seen very little, if any, progress since then.
@@Jabree No. I'm still trying to figure out the next move. The only inference I can make is that the growth I saw within 1-2 months was "shock growth" from wounding. More substantial regrowth cannot occur without addressing DHT-mediated fibrosis.
But you don't push them all the way in, just gently roll over the scalp with moderate discomfort. So, I don't get why there are different lengths at all.

@HAIRLICIOUSLY - Mt dermatologist doesn't believe in Micro Needling and he said he is seeing lot's of patients developing infections too. I also discussed with him two different Dr's saying rather than derma rolling which can cut the hairs, making it look think, you should use a derma pen coming in vertically, however he said even that will still cut the hairs because hairs grow at an angle, so it makes no difference.
Very thorough. Thank you. I have a 1mm derma roller that I started in conjunction with minoxidil after previously only using minoxidil and I pretty quickly noticed results (maybe a couple of months) and I was using it once or twice a week. I use it on my scalp and face for my beard as well.
@@dh1474 yes. I don’t use a roller any more though. I’ve been using an adjustable derma-stamp (so the pins puncture straight in and not on a rolling angle so as not to cause as much damage) along with the minoxidil and I also use various essential oils (peppermint sand tea tree with a castor carrier oil) that promote hair growth. I never could grow a beard or much facial hair at all until I began using minoxidil and later on the stamp in conjunction with even better results. I have a fairly decent beard now though my cheeks are a little patchy. I still do all this daily. My scalp is thickening as well. It’s amazing. It takes patience as it takes awhile to see results but stay consistent and you’ll reap the rewards. I hear this machine called a Dermanator 2 is like a stamp but with a motor and makes it go by way faster. Oh I also go to a depth of about 1.5 on my face and scalp. What I’ll do is every morning I’ll use minoxidil and about 5 hours later I’ll rinse my face with warm water to open the pours then I’ll massage some of the essential oil mixture on my beard area and scalp (the essential oils are toxic to pets just an fyi) and later in the evening I’ll use minoxidil again. I will stamp my beard area and scalp once a week. I don’t use any oils or minoxidil when I stamp because of the depth the needles go. I don’t want anything getting into my blood stream.
A comparison of actual achieved depth with different rollers, stamps and electronic micro-needlers(dr.pen, derminator) would be super beneficial. I think gauge of the needles, force applied and etc. has a huge difference between actual achieved depth of the needle (skin penetration) vs. what it says on the set setting.
Great video! I think this summary is your best one yet. Up to you, but would you like to do a video on the difference between using 5% vs.10% Monoxidil? I went straight for 10% thinking it would work quicker.
I'll take a look but I do recall a higher concentration of minoxidil needs a diff carrier. I don't know if the 10% was statistically significant compared to 5% but I'll do some digging and possibly do a video.
The difference is the dose. If you use 1ml of 5% minox you're getting 50 mg of minoxidil. If you're using 1ml of 10% minox you're getting 100mg of minoxidil. Technically, 2ml of 5% minoxidil = 1m of 10% minoxidil.
We needf to see some studies comparing dermarolling and microneedling. People keep saying microneedling is better because it doesn't tear at the scalp in the same way. But isn't that the whole point? It's supposed to cause damage to the scalp. The only studies I've seen results on were from rolling. I'll stick to that until there is actual proof that it's not as good.
Went the micro-needling route for about 15 months. Found myself using it less often than is probably the ideal because it just seemed so time-consuming what with the pre-session sterilization and then again post-session. A dermroller seems a bit more straightforward so I'd probably be inclined to do it more regularly.
@@ccriztoff that's not true,. they're not "super bad for you" & they dont "rip the skin" someone using it incorrectly CAN rip their own skin using one. a lot of times, derma rollers are actually more affective because one can control the depth a lot easier & apply the appropriate pressure. just dont drag while switching positions.
So the ideal micro-needling treatment is once a week to allow the scalp skin to heal after one session? So how long should 1 session of micro-needling last? 30 mins of rolling all over the scalp?
I have noticed that area on my temple with sparely any hair is thinner in skin depth while area with normal hair growth doesn't feel as thin in skin depth.
Also I am doing 0.5mm-0.75mm everyday and doing the 1.5mm once or twice every week. Is that ok? Seems like doing 1.5mm too often would result in hair fracks or darkened skin. Also, I judge the effective of each session by the feeling of blood oozing to the head. If I don't feel it, I increase the needle length.
I try to microneedle around noon (once a week, with a motorized tool at 1.6-1.75 mm needle length, top needling speed, with a little bit of numbing cream). That way I can apply minoxidil at night (11 PM) without minoxidil entering my bloodstream. I have been following that routine for about four months, with decent, but not drastic, results.
Hello, You're channel is very informative. I have a question, what needle size do you recommend for beard growth and how should you do it? Also with hair regrowth?
I now take 5 mg of finasteride versus the 1mg that I was taking before due to benign hypertrophy of the prostate. I'm in my 60s have had many hair transplants but I can tell you that my hair loss is completely stopped and I've now started microneedling and I've noticed an increase in hair growth which I really did not expect now it took about 3 months to see it but I do see it but I'm still a huge skeptic as far as a cure because I was told a cure was just around the corner when I was 18 what the f***
I watched a video made by hair transplant doctors and they say when its bleeding its already too deep! You can damage your hair follicles! For me what still not bleeding is 1mm or max 1,25mm! Made with a machine! Not by hand!
@@mike7887 They are thought to be "less" suspectible. You microneedle because a hair transplant is an illusion of density, you want to maintain your native hair the best to can, not necessarily the transplanted hair, to maintain the overall density.
dude what the fuck? NO. You are not disinfecting your needles man. You need to submerge the needles in 70-90% alcohol for 3-5 minutes before and after each use.
I can never tell how far Dr Pen's (A6) penetrate... I use 1.25mm but I question the penetration depth. Gotta unbox my Derminator and see if it's any different.
Same, I bleed more with my 1.5 dermaroller than with 1.5 dermapen. If I try to really put pressure with the dermapen it's torture. It's great to get a strong redness all over the scalp but I can control the pressure better with my dermaroller
Well y’all, I’m using a 1.5MM, and using peppermint oil after. I do it about once a week sometimes 2, but the second time very lightly. Hey, thank you for another great video. Your videos are so educational. I have a Dr pen and my questions are how fast should I use for the speed, all the way up or down? I use the 36 needle one and I also have the 12, does it really matter how many needles ?
I'm curious to the needle question as well. More needles sounds like more coverage but maybe there is a less is more reaction involved with the scalp and micro needling.
Really great info. How many times should you go over the entire scalp, or where ever the hair loss is? Also should you apply anything topically first or cleanse with alcohol even though you have showered first? Thanks
My friend is taking 5mg Oral Minoxidil and finasteride, and he just started micro-needling today. This kid wants his hair back lol. Micro-needling isn't necessary if your taking OM, but it's not gonna hurt either.
Once a week is too often! Professional clinics say once every 4-6 weeks. Think about it this way, you are wounding the skin, and it takes time to heal and rejuvenate. Sometimes less is more.
i use a dermapen, 1.5mm once a week until i bleed a little plus minoxidil once or twice a day (usually only in the evening unless i dont have to leave the house in the morning then i also apply it when i wake up) and am having very visible results after only 3 months
Maybe not if your scalp is fairly thin and bleeds much already, it's about pressure and frequency mainly - once a week, light to moderate pressure but ensure that you cover the ground thoroughly each session, castor oil is also great after you needle because it aids in the healing/recovery and hair building phases!
@hairliciously starting to get into microneedling.. how often should you use a derma pen combined with topical minoxidil for the best fastest results?? I know you mentioned on the video once a week.. but would it be detrimental on getting results if you microneedle more often??
Isn't 1.5 mm needle going to reach and scratch the skull bones? And what about the hair follicles? Can the actually get damaged if they are reached and stubbed with such a long needles? Any results with 1.5 mm needle?

It would be great to develop a dermaroller with minoxidil inside so every time you pass thru an area it stimulates and release minoxidil at the same time

I use a lidocaine topical numbing spray before using the Derma-Pen - and it's still pretty uncomfortable.
Was thinking of 1mm for now 1.5 just seems like such a bitch 😭
Anything more than 1.5mm can damage follicle
I think when doing it to depth of 1.5 or more makes the dead cells Below the hairshaaft come to life.these cells die when dht hits them hard known as apoptosis.anything less will stimulate the hair follicles stem cells located near the sebaceous glands

@@andrejtadic3088 but i heard that the more pressure means more results quicker? Or should i just swipe it once lightly and it work just as good?
@@f3rnandope529 I have no clue to be honest. I just do it until it starts bleeding. I’d say I apply a slight bit of pressure.
Then why do people that aren't bleeding still seeing great results?
EXACTLY!
It is money, but it is so much better when you have a clinician do this.
I get blood coming out from a 1.5mm
@@lastyeartosavemyhair yes it bounces on.my scalp too
if you are not bleeding, you are not doing it right. 0.5mm is worthless.
Now that i'm in the US and seeing the prices of everything here i feel better about doing it then, but its been a couple years and the effects are long gone.
just get a transplant
Fun fact: Not having enough sleep deprives blood flow to the head.
I think it's sort of a nice to have but shouldn't be the go to. I've read some studies that couldn't tell if the effects were from the PRP or from the fact that you're basically microneedling to get the prp in.
You should just pay the $799 quarterly. You’d be happier
Rephrase? Second sentence was confusing
If you go deeper than 1.5 mm, you increase the risk of scarring which can inhibit hair growth.

Any results?

At this point it’ s easier to drink a drop of minoxidil ...
5% has more good results
How about 3%?
Any results after 10 months?
Did you get results with your efforts?
I like the pen way better the roller pulled out my hair. Pen gets better penetration too.
Question: is microneedling alone like using minoxidil, where if you stop, you'll lose the new growth? Please let me know, thanks!!
I want to know too
I would assume so as you would need to continually induce growth factors and stimulation. The good thing is it is done usually once a week.
it depends if your losing hair on that area, like receiding and shit
@@rksleung you are doing too much darker skin means its not healing properly
I try to microneedle around noon (once a week, with a motorized tool at 1.6-1.75 mm needle length, top needling speed, with a little bit of numbing cream). do we need to wash hair after microneedling or leave it as it is ?
Can we do microneedling on a scalp that has little bit of build up. ?
What is this I'm hearing about the scarring after micro needling, and causes the hair follicles to die?
This is typically if the hypodermis is breached. Anything in the dermis or epidermis won't lead to scars or hair follicle damage for most people
@@Michael-bo4kh not true .do you have scars from shaving nicks .plus I use a 1.5 on my face for age lines and I don't have any scars
So I did use dermaroller 1.5 once and My scalp went rly dark (Im black) and I still have the marks to this day but less colored ( Maybe 2 months after). Then I bought a 0,25 mm and this one also gave me some little marks. I gave up on the utilisation now and I think I lost more haies with it Idk (and I didn’t take minoxidil). My scalp is very sensitive so it May not be the same for yall tho
@@hairliciously can pressing 1.5mm real hard do that
How do you feel about using a 1.5% peppermint essential oil and 1.5% essential tea tree oil in safflower oil after microneedling?
How has it work for you?
Might knock you out from shock.
I tried it and it made me very tired.
You’re awesome man.. thank you for your derma needling tips.. I heard about the method about 4 months ago and I was a little afraid to go through with it but I saw your segment on it and I’m 2 weeks in using 1.5 mm.. will keep you posted
Got mine last summer. Happy with it.
Let us know how this goes man! I'll be starting 1.5mm next week. Prob the dermapen route
@@Jackdman25 how did it work
@@Jackdman25 did you use minoxidil also?
@@Adam-M1 no I stay away from that, as one would have a heavy reliance on minoxidil once started. You can’t stop taking it or your newly regrown hair will fall out
"....and microneedle the CRAP outta your scalp." LOL!!! YES!!!!
Epic video, like from Russia, Im at stage 5(was in stage 3 when 15yo) At this point for me is just a hobby - how much I can regrowth :DDD Some Chinese hyperesponders on reddit had epic results :DDDDD
Yup. I believe he was using 2.5mm. Crazy 😆
Hi. Thx for this video. I dont want to use Minoxidil. Any serums you have found that work for post dermarolling?
Mint essential oil might work. Has some studies. Can interfere with testosterone in high amounts, though.
Thank you for your well-informed video. I've been using microneedling for a few years with good results. Overall, I came across some doctors claiming that it accelerates aging.. I was wondering if you ever did any digging on this topic. I'd be curious to know if it has any merit or not and think it would be a good topic for a video.
Curious too. As I’ve heard it gets rid of wrinkles, which is the opposite of aging
@@MorganInColombia ThIs...it promotes collagen production.
i dont think any dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon would claim needling accelerates aging ... they'd claim the opposite, that needling is beneficial ... on the face i've only heard a cosmetic surgeon i personally know who said that on the face he prefers to not going deeper than 0.75 mm since higher than that could cause microscopic scarring
@@rsmith9094 in regards to the scarring i also had some apprehensions as i feel microneedles would scar the scalp wnd hence not have any hair follicles
@@larazeli1306 scalp skin is thicker than face … if you do it at 1 mm to 1.5 mm on scalp scarring should definitely not be an issue and hair follicles will benefit from growth factors.
I understand the hair transplant you had.there is 1 anti-androgenic supplement to use.Saw Palmetto 320 mg standardised to 80/89 percent.DO IT.
I was watching an old video where you said the risk of using minoxidil after needling is not that it goes systemic, but that minoxidil suppresses collagen production negating the effects of needling. I'm curious what the current line of thinking is on this and also if it really is necessary to use minoxidil twice daily instead of once?
what about needling without any minoxidil?
@@rsmith9094 needling is effective on its own.
5:05 1.5 mm to 2 mm needed for hair stimulation, less is not enough, more could cause scarring
It would be great to develop a dermaroller with minoxidil inside so every time you pass thru an area it stimulates and release minoxidil at the same time
Not a great idea. You don’t want minoxidil to get into your bloodstream, as it will go systemic and greatly increase risk of side effects.
If I were to use the derminator 2 would I have to part my hair follicles in order to stamp those areas? Or would I be able to glide it over my hair while hitting nearby thinning spots? Thank you for all the information you give out :)
Stamp over areas where there is hair
And glide over baldness like a receding hairline.
A hair transplant doctor told me that micro needling causes scar tissue to develope thereby increasing the loss of hair. Any truth to this?
Not sure, but 2 months of microneedling caused me shedding like never before and something called telogen effluvium which is basically shock hair loss, so I stopped.
He is lying so that people get to him for transplant
How do you feel about needling in CBD Oil?
I'm not balding but I used a chemical on my hair and it thinned my hair and ruined my hairline. Do you think 1MM will be good enough?
Would you recommend 12, 16, 24 or 36 pins needle catridge for hair? Thx!
Thanks for the video! Great stuff. I'm just concerned about doing permanent damage to the transplanted hair follicles. Isn't anything over 1.25m dangerous?
I really appreciate your help with this.
If you're healed through your transplant and your hairs are now velous and mature with the implanted grafts and channels healed. You will be fine
Prp vs microneedling, which is best??
Both
So is it correct in assuming that I can use .5mm everyday? How can we know what our depth is?
on the dr pen, there is a dial that shows you exactly how many mm your needle is set at.
@@hairliciously sorry I should have said what our scalp max depth is?
I've been using 2.5 for 3 years and it works so much better
What level of baldness are you dude? What sort of pressure are you applying on your session? Thanks man
@@seanybyne1982 You cant really put pressure on it and glide over your scalp I just make sure it stays on scalp. All I have left is filling in a little bit of temple which was the first thing to go. Oh and I started losing at 25 and have 95% back. I'm 55 now
@@dougb3854 thank you so much for getting back to me on this. So you've kept your hair simply by using a derma roller right? Im not bald, but receding a little bit. So want to top up so to speak 🙂
@@seanybyne1982 No I use a dermapen. It is keeping my hair but I also regrew it with the pen. All these people who don't get anything from 1 - 1.5 mm are not being aggressive. You have to disrupt your scalp. 2.5 once aweek and 1.6 3 days after. I use r.u. mixed with minox every day and needle 0.6 mm right after for absorption
@@dougb3854 ah so you use minoxidil as part of your routine. I want to try avoid using minoxidil. Definitely want to give the dermaroller/pen a go
Out of curiosity, if micro needling at 1.5mm runs over your already existing (normally growing hair) while trying to target your more bald areas, can it damage or hurt the hair growth in those better areas?
Needling wont do any damage at all. However derma ROLLING does damage your existing hair due to the needles coming in at an angle to your scalp compared to a derma pen, stamp or derminator. They go directly straight down which is better and does not damage your pre existing hair.
@@CautiousHaze stop lying. there is no studies or truth pertaining to "derma rolling damages your existing hair follicles".. anywhere!!!!!! its the SAME exact concept, except you have the control. if you do it right, none will be damaged, please dont spread misinformation just because YOU chose to use another route. & in that same breath, the pen can be just as damaging under the same premise.
Yes, that is why the DIY way has a lot of cons associated with it. If you have a good amount of hair already, you are likely to do damage. Although it is expensive, doing it less often with a clinician is better. However, there is absolutely nothing better than finasteride!
Has anyone experimented with rotating the length of needle used every other week to hit different layers?
What would the point be to hit different layers? You want to get deep enough to hit the bottom. The others is no need to hit.
@@litjellyfish thats kinda why I was asking. I was wondering if there would be a benefit or any reason to do it. Just to make sure your hitting the right depth one way or another? Lol! 🤷🏻♂️
@@djditty8012 ah ok sorry miss understood you. According to studies and the physiology it’s no value. It’s basically this.
Micro needle deep to stimulate growth factors in areas that create the hair.
Microneedling superficial to create small channels that makes minoxidil get easier down to that place. But if you would go deep with that most likely minoxidil will go there direct and continue forwards.
It’s more like watering a plant really
If you put to much water direct on a dry plant the water just passes through you know? But if you put it in portions it trickles down abs get absorped better by earth and roots.
And slaw with plants. If some branches seems to be dry. Make small cuts in them as then they will pull up more water to heal those cuts an in that open better up the water channels and get more nourishment.
Hope the comparison makes sense :)
@@litjellyfish no worries. In hindsight I didn’t really phrase my question that clear. 😄 Thanks for the insight! 👍🏼
