Cam and Richard are a couple awesome guys to work with in the field, super knowledgeable and hard working guys. I've definitely learned a few tricks from your videos ! I will say , I work for a dealership and if my dealership provided truck breaks down in the field, I'll do everything I can to repair it and get it back up and running to get to a job or back home. We're not all bad ! Lol. Anyways great video guys and keep up the good work !

Very interesting topic. As a mobile tech myself I've run in to this a few times as well, and it can be quite stressful. I've got a small fleet now just in case I need to put one down for service.

The "light duty" trucks like Cam's F550 ya ship it out to get fixed, todays new vehicles are a c*** to work on you need specialty tools etc they have essentially become dealer service/repair. Richard's truck you can do more of the repairs but you'll need computer for engine/emissions repairs. Shop trucks are loaded right to the t*t they need regular preventative maintenance or "PMs" for short.

The issue with the 550-750s is it’s harder to find a shop to work on them. Some dealers say it’s too big or if you go to a big dealer they will say it’s too small. The company I work for has a go to shop that does good for us but it’s a struggle sometimes with the mechanic shortage. Sometimes it takes them a week or two to get it in. Another reason why I’m not a fan of the smaller trucks. It’s hard to even find a place to get in for an alignment for a 550

@@alexschmitz8111 The company I worked for has an F750 it went to the one of few commercial truck Ford dealers. Yes its a pain in the ass, the local truck shops wouldn't work on the truck as they didn't have the Ford specific computer system. The local Ford dealer will work on F550 trucks as they sell lots of them. As for the Dodge/Ram they wouldn't work on anything bigger than a 3500.

Try blue lay flat water hose as radiator hose it works. In Alaska bush fix 4'' lay flat folded over to make it 2'' with 4 hose clamps. We ran it on top and bottom rad hose on an old D-7 for 4 months never leaked. I would never believe it if i didn't try it. The funniest rad hose story i have is gold mining Alaska with a 1944ish cable cat with what looked to be original rad hose the bottom hose blew in the first 10 mins we put that blue lay flat on the bottom hose no leaks:) So we let is run for 10 mins to heat up with 6 or 7 guys looking at the top radiator hose and how bad it looks and 1 guy in the group lightly pokes the hose as we all yell NOOOOOOO! it exploded lol so old blue lay flat to the rescue. I'll have to try the tape some time. P.S small copper pipe cut in 2 inch pieces is good for splicing blown hose together.

I’ve used duct tape for a rad hose with a hole in it before (travelled 300km home fine from the back country / bush from a hunting trip)

A few times my service truck took a dump. Had to borrow my gf's Explorer to a call one night. Rented a U Haul pick up a few times. Yesterday was easy, tomorrow ain't going to be easy, today? Gotta improvise, adapt, and overcome. Beer don't bitch but it ain't cheap so gotta move on and make the dollar or Looney for ya Canuck's. 😁

I pay to have a 310s work on my pickup and I’m a 310T. No time, kids , honeydo list, shower , poo , sleep. No shame. Zero F’s. Only when I have too. Great vid fellas.
When the truck goes down you better be ready. When the truck brakes down! Cypress hill cover. Yup.

Unfortunately a place I worked for I had a truck like that but company owned. So I was always got payed even if the truck was down using shity backups. The sad part was they never gave us time to do are regular maintenance on them till they broke down and if we did try they would bitch about it.
