I do mobile repair on buses, school buses and crew transports for industrial use... most are like this at work... A lot of the buses we work on are short buses. The jokes practically write themselves...
Couldn’t agree more on packing a lot of water out there while I’m not in Canada, I spend every one of my work days on a pipeline right of way in backwoods West Virginia. there’s nothing worse than being stuck on top of a ridge on a big job with a hour or more drive to anything and not having water!
I’ve been a mobile mechanic for the past 23 years, working on power line utility equipment. I would quit before I would go work in a shop. Sometimes the weather sucks but it’s way more entertaining and challenging to fix stuff with not much more than tools.
@@TekamoHD just a good quality mechanics glove. Something that can take abuse from diesel fuel and DEF fluid ,but is of breathable material . I usually wear Grease Monkey brand gloves , but they don't breathe well in the heat for areas like where I work in South Carolina. We hit at least high 90's with 100% humidity in the summer months
You'd be surprised how many are like this tbh. It's more of an issue with 1. Being comfortable on camera and your family being comfortable with that and 2. Alot of companies/properties won't let you film so guys that have reoccurring customers that they are on call for just aren't suited for the role.
Need to start doing like the pipelines do. Make you a little grill on the back of the truck. Start the coals and season the steak then work until she's ready to go. Takes 2-3min a side. Better than a granola bar any day
Love the job you are doing. To be able to improvise on the spot is a testament to a good field mechanic. Worked in field service many years with Finning. Thanks for the memories. The old school guy.
This guy talks EXACTLY like I do. Bitches about the operator the same way, talks to the machine the same way, it HAS to be a heavy equipment mechanic thing. 😂
My dad worked on the island and the queen Charlottes for decades this is cool to see what he was up to out there it looks intense. You make it look easy
Would love to see some Tekamo coffee mugs or tumblers. Great content as always and it's so relatable having been a field tech for the last 8 years or so
These mechanics are worth every penny they charge because downtime costs money and could cost you the contract! Due to health problems I can't do the mechanics job, but I do camp watch for my cousin who owns a logging company and because of my former job he will get me to watch the mechanics that he flies into camp to do repairs while shut down unless he has a full-time hired mechanic! And the twisted sense of humor is mandatory for the job! Peace, Love and Respect
Hey Gents! Coming from a guy from this world, I have made respect for you! If I could pivot through college I would! Keep up the work. Support or sticker pack is the best way to support blue collar guys!
I can’t believe he torched the link to get the pin out and welded it. Your way better off piercing the remaining parts of the pin and hammering them out that way you don’t weaken the link dramatically.
I am a locomotive mechanic we have to torque the crab nuts at 2400 ft. pounds. We had a hydraulic one that we used to use was noisy, they air one we have now is so much quieter.
This is a common way we have done it, sometimes when splitting I won’t cut into the pin that way I can reuse it and weld it back in place. Track presses are tens of thousands of dollars and maybe only really need it twice a year when we do new undercarriages. These field repairs haven’t failed us yet, KISS.💋
I’d actually like a tekamoHD visor calendar, the type with “gentleman’s club material” pictures for the months….the topless type. These are a staple of every crummy, log truck, and all my personal rigs. Usually bought by the dozen to hand out to friends…I reckon you’d sell a bunch!
Should’ve added Super cool video! Spent lots of years doing field repairs You learn to get creative Such as making o-rings Keep the Awesome videos coming fellas!!
Yeah ,pretty much sounds like me when Im alone as well. I narrate for myself how my day is going. Sometimes, I even whistle my own theme song. And holy frigg I can get into some good arguments with myself.

Love the new word for merch, Brandfill.
No thanks. Who in their right mind would sign up for mail spam eh
Dude the intro to this is literally EVERY heavy mech guy in the woods. Its like they don’t know they are on the spectrum.
the 'tism is just another tool for us. Who needs alldata and mitchell1 when you saved all the manuals to memory and heart?

Clearly you don't know what the spectrum is.
By far the best guy you’ve had on the channel, a real salt of the sack type.
Wrong. He is trying too hard
@@Nick-ih5em found the pretender
He’s trying to hard to be like you😅
He didnt fix a single bush
🤣
Literally. Frickin clickbait
Love that
that’s on a different website
thats what he said....
This guys humor is just like mine when I get bored😂
💯 just found and subbed.
I really appreciate that when things don't go quite right, that content is left in. Mechanics are problem solvers!
No idea why this was recommended to me but this guy is awesome and makes me proud to be a Canadian.
The forbidden track shovel i bet some operators haven’t seen that in years😂😂😂
This channel is what made me want to be a hd mechanic
Go for it soggy
Yeah same but I don’t know how to get into it
@@tuneunleashed I don’t really either, but my school offers a class where you go work in a ag mechanic shop for the afternoon
Go find a service truck somewhere and ask the guy
@@tuneunleashed your local tech school has a diesel mechanic program. If not start in automotive and work your way to trucks.
Theres gotta be something in the water there at Tekamo….😂 Every one of you guys are full of it!! Keep it up guys Much ❤️!!
Hahahaha we appreciate you boss 🫡
This guy is funnier than a sack of crickets. Love your comments.
17:20 “I’m no welder, but I can make it stick” one of my favorite sayings 😂😂
Can we see a "Day in the life of a Vermeer mechanic" to see why it takes 3-6 weeks to fix.
As a vermeer field tech I too would like to know where the flip my parts are😂

Basically me whenever I’m doing pre-fab at the shop 😂
that torque multiplier air gun is so badass
He'd get along well with the millwrights in the mines for sure. Safety comes first right after production
Seeing these reminds me of my dad! He’s a heavy duty mechanic😊
Another great addition to the crew ...You need to have him with Cam and Tyler

Its the dude from the Truck tour!

Id like to see a tekamo fleshlight! Or a seal installer would be cool too! 😂

woah this is crazy work.. hes got some nice tools!!!!
Great video! Cant wait for moreee:)
The way those corks are welded on is putting a twisting stress on the chain. No wonder it’s breaking link pins.
This guy is a character, most field mechanics are, got a new sub
Got his new covee’s on for the tv appearance 😂. More of this please!

Stay safe guys
More of this guy he is the best!
Why did he cut the link like that instead of scarfing the bearing just curious
so he can do it again next year

Please more with him, he is very sympathetic
i always yell at the operators when they don't clean there tack "THIS IS WHY MOM DOSENT FUC*IN LOVE YOU" LOL

It’s a fine repair. The pin is now welded to the link making them one piece. I’ve done that repair and I’ve never had the link break after
I love this man the most
First and last time watching. If intrusive thoughts had a physical form it would be this dude.
This guy is class 😂. Cam has a new truck ohh new tour coming soon 🙏
Dam fine tradesman , well done

I’d drive from Florida to Canada just for that view!

Question on why cut and damage the link? Why not lance the pin with the torch use a quality C frame press?
This is a common way we have done it, sometimes when splitting I won’t cut into the pin that way I can reuse it and weld it back in place. Track presses are tens of thousands of dollars and maybe only really need it twice a year when we do new undercarriages. These field repairs haven’t failed us yet, KISS.💋

Have never split a broken link like that. But that is a good idea, especially for a worn out POS anyway.👍 Good enough for what it is
Where were the cordless tools when I was doing this in the 80's and 90's? Always dragging cords and air hoses around. Still loved the work.
