The only fun part about the game are the hunts and being a good excuse to go out for a walk and touch grass. Niantics greed spoils everything else.
Its a cap so people dont grind to the max yet, the game is for casuals, not speedrunnners that want max everything 1 month in
@@Rodoadrenalina Except demonstrably very few people stick around and play a single game for months or years (let alone mobile games like this, CoC is an anomaly). Casuals by definition rarely stick to a game for long, and if they do it's in short blasts that are never enough to get them to "endgame"...so if this is "for casuals", then it's pretty contradictory. Or, you know, the more obvious answer that anyone with a brain could figure out: it encourages you to spend cash. Almost as if that were the entire goal.

the combat isn’t too bad for a mobile game I was kindof impressed.
It’s kindof ridiculous to compare it to the mainline games. I enjoy this game when I don’t really focus on it too hard and play it casually just to enjoy the combat every now and then when I’m out and also to slowly work towards upgrades. That’s really all there is to it. I think obsessing over this game is a terrible idea

Yes, Zenny is still buyable with money, but being able to sell materials in your item box for Zenny, combined with the Zenny Reward Boost at HR100 for Daily Quests, combined with the Constant Events that give you free shit for doing the most basic of tasks !
The Zenny Economy has since Sky Rocketed and it's ridiculously easy to earn Free Zenny even if you're not even trying to.
Material Drops are still a bit of a struggle, but with Hunt-A-Thons now havin a Worldwide Group Hunt Feature, combined with Group Hunts granting Bonus Rewards simply for hunting with another Player, it's not quite as painful as it used to be.
Was out before the Halloween event after hitting 7* I realised I was wasting my time after that.

As a dedicated player, I got 5 weapons to G10, paying about 60$ over the entire time since release, in about 8 months.
My issue with this game is it never feels like you are doing enough damage to monsters even with their effective weapon.
when you start building actual elemental sets, like have your fire weapon with some armor that gives fire boost, save that as your set, do the same with other sets/elements, and you should start dishing out more dmg. elements are rly strong in this game, even on slow weapons like great swords, which isnt the case in the main series game.
but i am at a point where i was able to upgrade my great jagras greatsword so much higher than everything else , i think almost rarity 8, while everything else still sits at rarity 5, that im better off always just using that.
The game basically only wants you to play bow with elemental sets. Forget the other weapons if you want to play comfortably.

Use bow I just started playing this game some good soul random I met on the street helped me kill 7 black diablos now I have grade 2 5 star black diablos bow now I can kill any monster up to 6* with ease
this is why i dont do games on phone they tend to always go crazy greed like this and this is not the worst we have seen
True,people who have played pokemon go already know what niantic greed can do.
To some degree I feel like it makes a difference how quickly you want to run out of things to do in the game. I'll be curious to see what "next season" is like in MHN but, for now, I'm okay with appreciating long term goals and rewards.

In my experience drop ratios are okey because the items you need to upgrade weapons are balanced in rarity with drops.
The problem is when you need an specific material like rarity 4, 5 or 6 and you dont get, when that happen blocks you to upgrade a weapon... but when you get that material you have the mats to upgrade the weapon a lot of levels, so i think monster hunter now must have:

· Q3 1000 zenis - 2 refined weapon + 2 rarity 3 monster material (MM) - 1 rarity 4 MM 🐘🦏🦒
· Q4 500 zenis - 2 slots for rarity 3 resource - 2/3 per slot 🍀🐞🏔
· Q5 500 zenis - 1 monster and 1/2 MM of that monster to choose from (rarity to choose from too) - (This unlock the block i mentioned before) 🐘🦏🦒
- Ability to choose the minimum number of stars at which monsters appear, at least the ability to reduce them. ⭐⭐⭐
· Example: You cannot hunt an 8-star legiana, in this case you will be able reduce the stars of that legiana to 7.
- From the 6th star onwards, the number of zenis per monster is greater (Like he talks in video) 💰
I think this changes makes the game not frustrating and solve the problems this game have.

Niantic is shady af. They secretly increased the wyvern gem shards needed to upgrade a weapon(it used to be 2 shards to upgrade from 7-5 to 8-1), god knows how many things they have secretly changed! Not to mention the secret tweaking of monster difficulty, most notably the Great Jagras, they made it so that its stomach is harder to break in the recent update, throwing off a lot of veteran players.
Breaking parts got nerfed across. Was damn bullshit. They literally do not want you to break more than 1 part per fight.

Well, looking at it now, after many events, and getting Doouble WGS plenty of times (events where the first 2 slots ares doubled) i really didnt spent alot of money yet , and im still able to beat ALL 8 Stars easily. Currently at Class 9 lv 4/5 clapping all 8s and some 9s. Having fun. >Dont need to spent money, just geting there slowly but surely :) many events getting u a looot of gold. Event pass even gives u some WGS. Even without paying, u can get there. Im focusing on a Off. Guard 5 Pukei Lance for ex. ruiling over every 8star.
The thing that needs fixed is material drops, at the average rate to get just the shards, you'll get the required zenny for a weapon, both rates are god awful, but yeah.
I only hunt the monsters for fun. Already gave up on the grind. The item is full of the mats and no bones insects and stuff. Since I don't go out of my way to get to certain biom, doing the quest entirely depends on luck. It took about 2 weeks to meet 2 Diablos
I think that's not the correct approach, in that stage of the game the developers don't want you to get max weapons and armour. I think 10* will be the maximum for the years to come and marketing wise they couldn't promote a new and faster feature in the future if everyone allready has everything maxed out. They need to have these high limits, if they not wanna rebalance the game all the time with higher weapon grades. It's been the same with pokemon go and level 50, everyone complained at the beginning but at least you'll still have a goal to work towards, even after playing for several months. Without these goals everyone would just stop playing, after they got their weapons and armour maxed out.
This seems like a great game to me… If I could easily max out everything it would make me sad and I would stop playing eventually
I think the issue is that MH player base is mainly solo players. I play with 4 man and have a lot of friend's to play with. Which really feels like MHN is the most social version compared to all other series of MH

I'm glad I'm not just crazy. I hit such a wall of progression playing this game after a few weeks, and while I wasn't actively going on walks and searching out monsters, playing VERY casually here and there, the fact I was so stuck made me drop it HARD. For a franchise literally built around the idea of progression, if I don't feel like I'm able to progress ANYTHING about my builds, gear, or even get strong enough to unlock all the monsters, then there is something deeply flawed with the games design, even if it was designed around getting you to spend money. Why would I spend even $50 on a game, to not make any progress, in the most watered down version of the game-play the franchise has had to date, when I could use that same money (or in my case, none, since I own both World and Rise already) and play a 10000x more in depth, and satisfying version?
And the worst part is I was having a great time with the game for the first couple weeks. The idea and reality of playing MH on the go is super fun, but at the point that the grind becomes near impossible, especially with the insane RNG, the game stopped feeling like Monster Hunter.
They need to gives us more than 4 target rewards (with no part breaks) because 4 is tiny I want at least 8 (with no part breaks) then it would be a little less Grindy but that’s just me
They should let us sell excess materials for zennies, i had to trash a lot of materials cause my item box is full.

The rank quest to zenny reward ratio is insane. Once you reach a wall the only option is paying money to progress. The weak weapons can’t beat a high star monster when the timer runs out.
This HAS to be Monster Hunter WILDs, not Now with how wild the grind and/or money you'll have to spend for these.

The entire concept of a monhun mobile game was doomed to fail
I mean I have 200k Zeni and have been playing the game since day 1 I’m almost half way there and my weapons are grade 6 if you focus on only one weapon and a set gear set you can do this pretty easily just by playing the game. The events they come out with help out as well since many of the special quests give a good amount of zeni as long as you don’t waste money on stuff you don’t need your good iv made a bunch of different weapons as well as armor sets to try them out and locked in what I’m using already focusing on my chosen armor and weapon.
How I play this game “open the game, game loads, map loads all monsters away from me intentionally, close the game”

@@erwannlacroix2150 it only take 2 month to max lvl of one character in gacha game so I can enjoy the *early* content. Plus MH have ton of monster to be releases if they want to keep it going. Having full complete set is what drive MH player to keep playing.
@@akilakill4144 I've pretty much maxxed Furina in Genshin in less than a week, which means lvl, skill and relics. Aside from that, I can go farm better relics and improve her weapon and it certainly won't take two months.
Even in Fate/GO which was brutal, I could do the same with the gathered stocks and even then it wouldn't take a month to max a character aside from skills.
Also a set is maxxed out in Now at r6 as you have already unlocked all the skills, it's definitely doable for pretty much everyone, the brutal grind comes later and at this point, it's basically get more attack/def to hunt the same monsters with more hp/atk so basically pointless if you don't want the challenge or completion

I've been playing for 5 months now, logging in a couple of times a day, while walking the dog. I spent 0 cash on the game, just enjoying it. I now have multiple grade 7 weapons and armor pieces and also have 600k zenny left. I think the game is fine as it is and it is not at all hard to raise the resources. It's the grinding for specific monster parts that thematically is the challenge. The video maker is hugely missing the mark IMO
Same for me. I have not spend a single penny in this game and i have G9 weapons, can kill everything pretty easy and don't see any reason to use money. In the contrary, using money would going to make the game faster and by the end i will not have any reason to play it

Once I got to 5 star monsters, being unable to beat them on my own because the grinding is atrocious, I stopped playing
I gave up after realizing the grind was worse than ACTUAL monster hunter...without being nearly as fun.

it's always a sign a company is scummy when they sell half-finished games and then sell the ending as DLC that costs more than the base game...
man. i felt like this game economy wasn't balanced right, but I didn't realize that the rewards didn't increase really at all with monster difficulty. How did this not get caught earlier in the pipeline? You can call it greed, but in order to make money you have to make sales. If your in-game currency is worthless unless you drop a month off rent on it, how do you expect to convince anyone to buy it?
Mobile game companies keep tripping on their feet doing stuff like this. There's no way they're going to make sales targets, Niantic is going to lay people off, and the people who buy in are gonna be left holding the bag when their new game loses support.

I stopped playing mobile games back around 2016. I sat down one day and added up the $ I was putting into a game I played around that time, and over the span of around 18 months I'd spent over 1,500$ on some random game I'd just play at random times when I didn't have anything going on. It blew my mind. These days I only use my phone for communication and music/videos while I'm working. My best friend was into the same game I was, and he continued playing it for like an additional 2 years. I added up how much $ he would've needed to spend in order to reach some milestone he was proud of at the time and it ended up being something like 4,000$. This was one of those idle games that would play itself and you didn't have to do anything more than collect some daily rewards and click a few buttons every 24 hours. Once I pointed out to him how much money he'd put into this bs game, he reluctantly uninstalled it. The sunk cost fallacy was so strong for him that he didn't fully even want to stop playing it. These games are a huge problem.
As someone who grew up with psp I really like that our phones became handheld consoles. But everytime I see a decent "free" game I smell the in-game purchases and lootboxes from a mile. I mean that's how they make profit but I just wish for a good phone game one day that costs some bucks but has anything for you to unlock and have fun🤟

I have a grade 9.5 weapon and I have only spent $20 in the game.... I have walked 500km since launch in september, and kill maybe 100-200 monster per day. It just takes time :)

Arrived to the 8star monsters .... I cant even defeat a kulu-ya-ku having a lvl 7 water weapon maximized and with water damage bonus . And damaging the monster during the entire period of time . Wtf

these numbers are crazy. when i see this, my desire to spend money went from 0 into the negative zone... niantic needs to pay me to play some more
but serious, the prices for stuff are ridiculous. worst part for me are potions, because im wasting some of my free ones because of their bad game, its lagging sometimes all of a sudden and i cant evade, nor block and bam, got hit. hitboxes are weird sometimes, timing doesnt work with lags. sometimes the game steals you some seconds and ends the hunt early, or let you start late. all of these problems doesnt make me think " oh yeah, i should buy some more potions to play some more", no... thats the stuff, that makes you ragequit and dont play anymore
with the amount of content we got atm, and the prices and grind for everything, i dont think this game will survive much longer then 6 months
3k Daily x 7day= 21K x 4weeks=84K x 12Months= 1,008,000 zen. That's just Dailies not accounting all the monsters you kill , events rewards, Qualily specials,that could potentially double/triple/Quadruple your zenny. The game is meant to last many years. so if you were to save zenny and only min max after 2years your have 2-6mil. It does not seem that bad. its only seems bad if youre rushing and desperate.
The crazy thing is they are trying to sell a battlepass for a game so grindy that the big base player are near 5-6 star monsters with the cursed droprates. Idk how niantic is going to sell me something for a game that dont let me progress, i decided to go full raw and paralisys to not struggle with zenny and mats but man... Drops are a real thing. I got tons of materials and almost 700k zennys but for what?
Ive been playing since release im still enjoying it think my highest armour is grade 7 and highest weapons are grade 6 the only thing that sucks is the drop rate
I dont mind the fact the end items take alot of effort tho. Because if you got to grade 10 easily then it takes away from the game. It might be a little excessive tho. But yea niantic are greedy in all their games

honestly this game is just something for me to do when I walk to classes in college. I honestly hate the scummy nature of this game. I mean why does it cost so much to upgrade the inventory?! Also...why do I have to pay to upgrade my inventory! Also let's be honest, the reason they will never let us sell monster parts for Zenny, is because then you won't feel bad discarding monster parts and then you won't have any reason to buy the inventory expansion.

I will argue the armor side of things. Tlwill the constrict of the time limit perfect evading is probably the best way to get through the hunts and at that point its truly the skills youve got to upgrade for. The cost is ridiculous yes, BUT, skills are the most important. Theres kinda no point for upgrading your armor past that.

This is very average monetization for mobile games.
The fact of the matter is that people don't care and as long as a portion of the playerbase purchases it, it'll stay this way.
Many popular games do this and some are even praised for how "optional" it is.
I don't even think it would even be possible to maxed out any weapon for me.
My life time plan for this game is to have 4 elements 8/5 LS and then just enjoy the game on that point, waiting for new monsters or something

Just chill and hunt a couple of monsters where I am whenever I feel a bit bored.
While I can 100% get behind the consensus that the grind in MHN is far too high, especially with how difficult it is to target farm monsters, I still have some issues with the video:
For starters, you calculated the zenny cost of each upgrade and the amount of parts required for each upgrade but didn't think to calculate the amount of that monster needed and how much it'd ACTUALLY cost you if you did it more efficiently.
For example, to get the 90 gems for a G10 weapon, you'll need 90 drops for it. With a ~3% drop rate, assuming you only get a single gem with a drop, you'll need to farm ~3000 8* monsters. Assuming you're looking to whale, you'll probably use gems to increase the amount of drops which would half the amount of required drops to 45, meaning ~1500 8* monsters. Even if you got 3 breaks and all 7 drops ended up being gems, you'd still need to farm ~215 monsters. With ~215 8* monsters, you'd get 27,950 zenny and that's unrealistically optimal, with the expected average (which people will fall within more than likely with such a huge amount needed) resulting in 195,000 zenny with gems/carving or 390,000 zenny without.
Which really shows you that zenny should not/will not be the problem you would be expected to encounter. If you were to calculate out each piece and factor in the amount of each monster you need to take down for each material, you'd see that the real problem is the monster drop chances and actually finding and hunting those _specific_ monsters. I agree that the grind is immense and needs change, I disagree that the zenny is the problem. In fact, it'd be more reasonable to calculate the amount of gems you'd need if you were looking to carve monsters

Who saw that coming: A mobile game that will rip of its customers for late game (not even endgame) content. Get player hooked with cheap progress (creates dopamine) and then just slow down progress to a halt. This will withdraw players of reward and therefore dopamine. Its a predatory system which shouldnt be allowed by law.
Anything changed by the new Updates yet???
