I know Rotten Vale might be the last time we see Dalamadur for a while, but I'm always holding out hope for his return! One of my favorite Seige fights ever, I do wonder if we'll ever get anything else similar to that or Raviente again
Siege battles are awesome, but it's true Sunbreak doesn't really have one. Although, I'm surprised you didn't mention Sunbreak's final boss fight, which does have limited siege mechanics and a massive monster comparable in size to the 'Jiiva family or Kulve Taroth.
Gogmazios is still my favorite fight to date. That arena was so well done and just gog himself having old rusted parts on his body, being able to knock off the dragonator on its back to use it against him, having one person bring powder token and hopefully not missing the one window of time to hit. such an epic fight.
The thing is for Dalamadur I had made a compiled list of votes from hunter's choice top monster (variants, deviants, and monsters that were vote split by species were put together into one vote) and Dalamadur ended up in top 20, at 19th place
Under water hunts could come back, but would have to come via the form of a universal hunting method like a specific underwater weapon or an event type hunt where you're in a submergible or something along those lines.
It would be a coastal battle where maybe you used siege weapons to get him out, making it similar to Zora. EXCEPT maybe he would come out of the water and start doing some almudron stuff except larger shifting tectonic plates and spewing magma. Like make him amphibious instead of aquatic so you have a dynamic fight with a variety of phases. He has potential to be a center piece fight
Semi Aquatic monsters: Capcom can make Boats a unique way to hunt then using boats similar to Jhen Mohran and Dahren Mohran, if there was a closed area like that with water on it and balissta and and a land and no Swimming mechanic then they will just force us to make use Balista and cannon until the monster comes out for a second phase or something like that.
Minor distinction, but it's important to note that Ahtal-Ka is not actually an Elder Dragon! Despite being a final boss, it is in fact just a very powerful Neopteron.
Everyone defends their home game, I was introduced to tri when I was around 7. The water combat was perhaps my favorite part, feeling sluggish and small because you were not running on solid ground but swimming with heavy gear. It was pretty neat. It’ll be sad not to see water combat return but I understand why. ❤
Ooh sudden idea for Dire Miralis revamp, maybe like Iceborne Fatalis or Safi they could have it so you can only go in the water and attack his body at certain moments when its weakened, like imagine if regularly the water around him would be too hot to be in and you'd take gradual damage as he heats back up.
of all monsters I hope they bring back, I really want to see Xeno/Safi'Jiiva return in the future... honestly Safi' is starting to become my favorite monster...
Ceadeus is music wise and majesty wise my fav. Dalam was a fantastic fight. Gogmazios was incredible and the dragonspike glued on his back being part of the fight was genius
Imagine they pull what they did with Fatalis in world with Dalamadur in Rise... I'd probs lose my shit- But only if the fight turns out challenging worthy to be the final Elder dragon in rise c:
Safi jiiva is extinct in the new world, we don’t know if theres other safi in old and forbidden world also there is still a safi jiiva alive, mother or father of the xeno and safi of the new world
12:07 Wouldn't Gaismagorm from Sunbreak count as a *massive* Elder Dragon? When observing its size, it appears to be as large as Dire Miralis and Gogmazios. Also, wouldn't Gaismagorm's quest-layout count as a siege?
It hurts me so much to think Ahtal-Ka won't return (most likely) Ahtal Ka, ironically, is perfect for Rise, since the silk she uses combines perfectly with the wirebug system And because she is really smart, it blows my mind all the possibilities with an ahtal-ka fight in rise sunbreak Can you imagine an Ahtal Ka riding other monsters? Yes, hilarious but, would be awesome If Ahtal-Ka were added in rise, and still maintain her theme and bring back again the XX proof of a hero (definitely the best, no discussion) it would be a really crazy fight, just see the epicity in Ibushi and Narwa allmother
could you imagine ahtal-ka showing up during the allmother fight and, where every other elder dragon gets throttled so you can ride them and return the favor, *riding narwa*
I never had the chance to fight any such giant, so I'm still hoping Sunbreak brings one back to test the wirebugs on it, my personal wish would be Shen Gaoren BUT with a fifth gen twist and it wears the Zorah skull. Also WTAF Dalamadur has LEGS!?
nah, don't think so. switch capability were being pushed to its limit with fights like narwa/ibushi and gaismagorm. don't think they will give us another massive fights on rise/break
@@bufospErm Dire Miralis was on 3ds, Ceadus on wii and 3ds golden ceadus 3ds, akantor psp, uknalos psp and switch, dalamdur 3ds, three fatalis psp, 3ds. Jhen wii and 3ds, Lao Shan lung psp and switch, Shen Ghoran psp, Yama psp, gogmazios 3ds. They are smaller consoles and managed loads of massive monsters
Don't forget MHXX on the 3DS (and by extension MHGU on the Switch) having Ahtal-Ka and Nakarkos in addition to Lao-Shan Lung and the Fatalis trio (and Ukanlos, and Akantor, and... you get the point.) So that's even more proof that they could accomplish this on the Switch if they really wanted to
I started monster hunter with tri then got freedom 2 and unite! I kinda miss underwater fights though I could feel the monsters where more alive in the way the fought both in land and underwater.
When you think on it, the previous games that most of these huge monsters appeared in where in the Nintendo DS/3DS, so they were limited with the hardware. I can understand the underwater monsters, but I really want to be able to fight Dalamadur in some way shape or form. They could potentially do it if they do another console release, not including the Switch.
Why has Capcom never partnered with Toho to bring Godzilla as a guest monster? You can replace Lao-Shan Lung and have the Godzilla theme playing in the background and BAM, memorable fight.
perhaps the image of godzilla being defeated by hunters/human may affect the fan perception of the franchise. but yeah, wouldn't mind to fight other monsters in the franchise as well
We absolutely have to bring back underwater combat. It's not really an option not to. They can do it better, but cutting out half the biomes in the world isn't realistic if MH is going to survive another generation.
I think it's especially sad that probably almost all Monster Hunter Online/Frontiers monsters won't return. Which is kinda weird since there are a lot of cool ones and a lot of people all over the world are probably not that familiar with them.
if we get a monster hunter game at some point in the future with both underwater combat and super vertical movement (wirebug-esc) that might be dire miralis's only chance to return, similarly with dalamadur for the vertical movement part
I'm just saying, with how much different monster variants have become, I really hope that one day we get a Dire Miralis variant that can control its body temperature and doesn't need to stay underwater anymore.
Also on the point of DireMaralis, they could alter the fight to make the monster more interesting, maybe we can't fight it in the water because it's so hot you would die instantly (story explanation) so we drag it or force it onto land with some ships forcing it onto dry land where it could be a challege and make you need a cool drink to survive near it, since it's basiclly a volcano as a monster.
Lagiacrus was going to be in world but they had trouble getting his skeleton and animation to work properly so they just canned him all together. There’s beta footage of him
I know people hate underwater combat but it was fun (well for me at least) but I wish mh rise hat it due to the wire bug we could of moved quickly under the water or in this new monster hunter wilds game coming out next year they could add it due to a item in the hunters arm like the slinger/clutch claw I can see a harpoon like attachment to pull the hunter towards the monster I can imagine harpooning a royal ludroth and being pulled towards it and attacking it
Ever since sunbreak released I've been in the corner quietly chanting "dalamadur!, dalamadur!, dalamadur!" And still am. I just really want to climb it with wire bugs lol.
I'd love to see a game where they just keep adding older monsters to the list, and new variations, thats mainly what im hoping will happen with the 6th gen game. Mainly because my 1st experiance with a MH game wasnt till world, and I abosultly fell in love with the franchise, but knowing there are monsters I've never seen or got to take on, makes me wish they were in World or will come back in future installments.
If you have a Switch, a good way to experience a lit of the older monsters is to play GU. I started with World and went back to GU to face the older monsters. Once you get used to the older gameplay, it's pretty fun.
Y’know… While fighting Zorah, I never really took into consideration of how huge it really was. All the other massive monsters look so tiny in comparison 😭
Never say never. As tech gets better these guys may return. I didn't play much of the handheld games but did touch on the consoles. Perhaps one day we may get to see them again or remastered titles. I doubt it but I have hope.
Not sure if anyone has said it but the first game that comes to mind with me for underwater/above land combat is shadow of the colossus, old game but a phenomenal game
maybe the gimic of the next game will be PVP, like people useing monsters to controll and conqor villiages and the new function is to tame some monsters as actual mounts (like Palamutes) but the combat mechanic is an engine like in JEDI Fallen Order with a block/parry with all types of weapons , making PVP possible. You know to save the monsters, what do you think, Team Darkside?
What came to mind that has both land and underwater combat is Guild Wars 2. It isn't the most loved thing in the game, but the developers did take their time making different moves for different weapons when underwater. I would definitely love an expansion into MH's underwater content!
Dalamadur is my favourite monster and I would love to see it return. The verticality problem can also easily be solved with a clutch claw or wirebug, not to mention verticality was already refined with newer entries. I imagine making a fight on that scale would be tricky to pull off on new hardware but it would be such a spectacle.
...All Mother Narwa isn't the biggest monster in Rise/Sunbreak. Did y'all forget about Gaismagorm? I'm pretty sure that counts as a new giant dragon that y'all were asking for... right?
I think Gogmazios would be such a cool final TU elder for the next game’s G expansion. I think they could give it the Iceborne Fatalis treatment and bring it back in a really big way. Otherwise I would also love to see Dalamadur or an updated Lao Shan Lung come back!
Based off of the trailer dropped for MHWilds, there’s a chance that some of the gargantuan monsters come back. And I really hope we get a fight between them.
Nothing stopping you from going back and fighting them :) If you haven't tried World it's still very much populated (maybe even the most) and one of, if not the best Monster Hunter experience out there, both visually and gameplay-wise.
@@KokotoHero-N3 Agreed. World is the best MonHun experience atm imo. It takes more patience than Rise's more casual gameplay design, but it also feels much more alive in return.
world/iceborne also got several (yes you read that right) massive monsters you can fight outside of its final bosses (xeno jiiva and shara ishvalda). kulve taroth, safi jiiva, behemoth (dunno whether you can consider it as massive dragon, but at least for me it was different), last and definitely not least, fatalis itself. yeah i skipped zorah magdaros. that fight wasn't fun at all. sadly, rise/break haven't got any fun massive boss fights outside its final bosses.
I think in paradise they could return some of these monsters just for the heck of it. I know they are basically spectacle fights but they are cool. Could be done with the power of next gen consoles since if they do bring these back they want to have them in special arenas with giant fights.
for underwater, they could do what Guild Wars 2 did and have a few select underwater exclusive weapons as a sort of secondary you switch to when underwater
This weak they showed they implemented underwater movement, so many people think the DLC will add underwater combat, but seeing they learn how to make leviathans and have underwater exploration I believe we will start seeing fights with Lagiacrus and Ludroth on land again and chase them.
Man I just want another dalamadur fight. I adore that giant snake, with how improved movement options have become since 4U especially in rise I thought the potential for his return in sun break could have made an incredibly interactive and faster paced reworked fight with wire bugs and general vertical freedom
Honestly, I wouldn't count Dire Miralis out so soon. We've seen the return of two of its fellows among the Black Dragon Club, Alatreon and regular Fatalis, so never say never when it comes to the angry volcano dragon. Hell, they could even show him walking out of the water as a homage to where it was first met. :p
As much as I want every monster to return in the modern gens and be fightable, it makes sense that the exclusively underwater monsters can't come back due to the development limitations. I hope we'll get a lineup one day with every possible previous monster in it for everyone to fight
Ceadeus music is still one of the more epic boss songs. I used to play that music all the time for my son to help him sleep lol. And I want dalamandur back, his weapons are epic
I'm so sad that Lao Shan Lung is probably never going to get a revamp that it deserves. I remember fighting it with a longsword in MHFU, i don't know why, but it's a core memory of mine at this point
This was a great video, but I will have to disagree on Ahtal-Ka and Dire Miralis. My counter arguement stems from the fights with Alatreon and Fatalis in World. Those are completely different fights then there originals and I feel the same treatment can be applied to at least these examples, it just requires a new circumstance or situation for both monsters.
i would love paradise to introduce a new weapon that are basically knuckles: fast paced blunt combat with opviosly not as strong blunt damage as hammer but more movement options, faster heal and combat. basically having combos based on being very close but extremely agile, could also have stronger moves incorperating stacking buffs or a winded up punch to topple monsters
i might be the very few who loved Shen gaoren genuinely. Something about a giant crab boss emerging from the mist really scares me and motivate me to fight it. Sad that it only has one major generation appearance and no many people even knew it existed.
I'm playing through Rise right now and can safely say I disdain Rampage quests compared to the old siege quests. It's a lot more frantic and I feel like I'm juggling way too many things. What I hate about Rampage is the fact that it locks Ibushi behind a bunch of busywork to get another crack at a Wind Serpent Orb or Claw. It would be one thing if Ibushi dropped a bunch of materials on defeat but he doesn't.
I was never able to play a Monster Hunter game until World came out, but out of these five monsters you quoted Dire Miralis could be the most likely one that could return because even if on land it feels like a slowed down Fatalis that shoots magma balls; its fight isn't fully under water like Ceadeus (that can't return without the return of under water combat), so Dire Miralis fight could be changed and revamped just like how Fatalis was kinda revamped in the last title update of Iceborne, i think it in this way
I like to imagine a modern fight against Dire Miralis like a mixed Siege and Normal fight. Kinda like fighting Fatalis when he is on land and shifting to Siege when he goes into water.
@@walaceandrade4046 I think they should give either a normal battle or a multiple phase one of Miralis. They would have to completely rework him though, we had underwater combat for tri and 3 ultimate most people didn’t like it which is why Capcom have included it in any other MH. At least it made hunting Plesioth much easier and don’t have to sonic bomb him
@@dragoon2334 i think that a normal fight would be better because a multiple phase would be long and really tiring at the end of the day and no one would ever want to farm Dire Miralis
Underwater combat returning is a pipe dream, but it would be amazing if they ever decide to try it again. Until then I'll hold out hope for Dalamadur since that is much more likely
Honestly? I can imagine Dire Miralis coming back. We don't have to fight it underwater, fight might be siege mode, like fighting first phase from a ship and then moving to direct combat when it reaches land. Also, with much bigger maps that Wilds will introduce Dalamadur is also able to return (ik, it's copium, I just want long boi back).
Super mario sunshine has a boss that you fight under water, a giant eel that you have to knock his crusty teeth out. You cant find him on land tho but still that game was insane when I was young
I'm glad Morudomunto didn't end up on this list, I'm still holding out hope that the Black Crown dragon will return at some point. He has so much potential both as a fight and a plot device, especially given its similarities to Shagrau Magala. I know I'm one of the few people who even know about this elder dragon and the mobile game it came from but I hope, I really hope

underwater combat had 2 fatal flaws. hit recovery taking so damn long, and lance being the only really good melee weapon for the environment.
They could maybe, maybe, bring back Ceadeus as a raid boss like Kulve.
I know Rotten Vale might be the last time we see Dalamadur for a while, but I'm always holding out hope for his return! One of my favorite Seige fights ever, I do wonder if we'll ever get anything else similar to that or Raviente again
When they announced espinas for sun break I was reallllly hoping for raviente right at the end for sun breaks siege monster but a las it was not to be
8:52 this is literally the perfect mh rise monster. If it came back, it would be a massive threat based on how wirebugs work
Siege battles are awesome, but it's true Sunbreak doesn't really have one.
I would love to see Dire Miralis get a redo of his fight loved it’s designed but it just felt like a flightless Fatalis.
How would you get around the swim mechanic and the lore reason why he's in the water
@@EL-Nope Easy, just bring back water combat but make it good. I don't understand why so many people think Capcom is incapable of that.
@@ThiccyRicc he not Aquatic, he just use the water to keep his body colder
Lances underwater was so fun. Getting to dart around like a swordfish.
I’m 99% sure Gaismagorm is bigger than Narwa/Ibushi
Ooh sudden idea for Dire Miralis revamp, maybe like Iceborne Fatalis or Safi they could have it so you can only go in the water and attack his body at certain moments when its weakened, like imagine if regularly the water around him would be too hot to be in and you'd take gradual damage as he heats back up.
I could argue that narkarkos is a siege monster in some aspects like fatalis and amatsu
of all monsters I hope they bring back, I really want to see Xeno/Safi'Jiiva return in the future... honestly Safi' is starting to become my favorite monster...
Ceadeus is music wise and majesty wise my fav. Dalam was a fantastic fight. Gogmazios was incredible and the dragonspike glued on his back being part of the fight was genius
Man seeing all the 3U monsters make the list hurt a little. I have fond memories of hunting all of them and I’m never gonna get to again.
Imagine they pull what they did with Fatalis in world with Dalamadur in Rise... I'd probs lose my shit-
But only if the fight turns out challenging worthy to be the final Elder dragon in rise c:
Safi Jiiva is for sure NEVER gonna return considering Alatreon and Fatalis already made it go extinct
It hurts me so much to think Ahtal-Ka won't return (most likely)
Ahtal Ka, ironically, is perfect for Rise, since the silk she uses combines perfectly with the wirebug system
And because she is really smart, it blows my mind all the possibilities with an ahtal-ka fight in rise sunbreak
Can you imagine an Ahtal Ka riding other monsters?
Yes, hilarious but, would be awesome
If Ahtal-Ka were added in rise, and still maintain her theme and bring back again the XX proof of a hero (definitely the best, no discussion) it would be a really crazy fight, just see the epicity in Ibushi and Narwa allmother
could you imagine ahtal-ka showing up during the allmother fight and, where every other elder dragon gets throttled so you can ride them and return the favor, *riding narwa*
would love to see akantor and ukanlos in the next game. i dont know why but i love the two
I never had the chance to fight any such giant, so I'm still hoping Sunbreak brings one back to test the wirebugs on it, my personal wish would be Shen Gaoren BUT with a fifth gen twist and it wears the Zorah skull.
Also WTAF Dalamadur has LEGS!?
WE ALREADY HAD THIS ISSUE WITH COTTON
nah, don't think so. switch capability were being pushed to its limit with fights like narwa/ibushi and gaismagorm. don't think they will give us another massive fights on rise/break
@@bufosp Which is what will keep it from being the best monster hunter iteration.
Don't forget MHXX on the 3DS (and by extension MHGU on the Switch) having Ahtal-Ka and Nakarkos in addition to Lao-Shan Lung and the Fatalis trio (and Ukanlos, and Akantor, and... you get the point.) So that's even more proof that they could accomplish this on the Switch if they really wanted to
The Headless from Sekiro have a land-based and water-based version, but not something that you swap between mid-fight.
I started monster hunter with tri then got freedom 2 and unite! I kinda miss underwater fights though I could feel the monsters where more alive in the way the fought both in land and underwater.
Let's never say never, last thing I lose is hope and I hope they bring back underwater combat.
Dood! Imagine fighting Ghidorah? Or.......Atal-Ka making its own version of Mechagodzilla?
perhaps the image of godzilla being defeated by hunters/human may affect the fan perception of the franchise.
but yeah, wouldn't mind to fight other monsters in the franchise as well
@@bufosp They can treat it like a "repel" mission, just like when you encounter Lao-Shan for the first time
We absolutely have to bring back underwater combat.
I hope monster hunter wild bring some of these monster back and new ones specially after the rumors that i heard that wild might be a open world
I simply want Safi'jiiva to return, the best dragon design I have ever seen.
Not to mention the gear holy f****.
Akantor, Gogmazios and Ahtal Ka would be so cool to see come back despite the slim chances
I’m hoping for a Monster Hunter All Stars game where all these big ones come back, along with the final bosses.
Damn. I really miss all those water monsters. Besides Ludroth...they are all gone. Even Lagiacrus.
Lagiacrus was going to be in world but they had trouble getting his skeleton and animation to work properly so they just canned him all together. There’s beta footage of him
Imagine the Followers helping you take down Amatsu or Jhen Mohran with rampage artilleries.
Man, if only...
heh.
heheheh.
I honestly thought the final boss of iceborne was gonna be a Dalamadur since they called what turned out to be Shara Ishvalda “The Old Everwyrm”
Not sure if anyone has said it but the first game that comes to mind with me for underwater/above land combat is shadow of the colossus, old game but a phenomenal game
I'm not counting anything out anymore. Especially with today's technology. ESPECIALLY after they added a Frontier monster.
Anything is on the table.
maybe the gimic of the next game will be PVP, like people useing monsters to controll and conqor villiages and the new function is to tame some monsters as actual mounts (like Palamutes) but the combat mechanic is an engine like in JEDI Fallen Order with a block/parry with all types of weapons , making PVP possible.
Starting with Tri, I loved it and missed the underwater combat.
I really love Jhen Mohran armour for female character and it's weapons, especially the bow design
Dalamadur and gogmazios are so liked, I have no doubt they'll return at SOMEPOINT
10:14 This sequence just so fking cool..!!
Fatalis just fitting the very image of the "Monster" in Monster Hunter title.
Nah, with Iceborne and Sunbreak Capcom is bringing back old final bosses as final title update. These guys can absolutely return in future games
Imagine of someday, even if its just a cutscene or background action in a set piece, we get to see a Zorah Magdaros and a Dalamadur enter a turf war
Based off of the trailer dropped for MHWilds, there’s a chance that some of the gargantuan monsters come back.
And I really hope we get a fight between them.
You brought a fire weapon to an underwater fight.
personally i’ve start the monster hunter saga with rise but when i see those big boi, it make me fell sad bc i’ll probably never fight them…
Nothing stopping you from going back and fighting them :)
If you haven't tried World it's still very much populated (maybe even the most) and one of, if not the best Monster Hunter experience out there, both visually and gameplay-wise.
@@KokotoHero-N3 yea, actually i don’t have bought mhw cuz i don’t have the time to play with my college but now i’m in the holidays so i can play chill
Ceadus was fun, the music and atmosphere is simply memorable.
Sunbreak had a massive monster: Gaismagorm
Imagine youre expecting something like a Brachydios or something but they just casually announce a gogmazios or a dalamadur
Man I just want another dalamadur fight. I adore that giant snake, with how improved movement options have become since 4U especially in rise I thought the potential for his return in sun break could have made an incredibly interactive and faster paced reworked fight with wire bugs and general vertical freedom
Community: "I miss the massive monsters!"
Me: "I miss the Underwater biome, and the massive monsters!"
Ceadus had the best music, And agnaktor had amazing armor set.
I knew Zorah was a big boy, but seeing it next to Dalamadur 0:48 he is one HEFTY looking boy.
If we include frontier (I mean there's hypnoc, volganos, and now espinas in mainline) I couldn't see raviente returning anytime soon
i would love paradise to introduce a new weapon that are basically knuckles: fast paced blunt combat with opviosly not as strong blunt damage as hammer but more movement options, faster heal and combat. basically having combos based on being very close but extremely agile, could also have stronger moves incorperating stacking buffs or a winded up punch to topple monsters
i might be the very few who loved Shen gaoren genuinely. Something about a giant crab boss emerging from the mist really scares me and motivate me to fight it. Sad that it only has one major generation appearance and no many people even knew it existed.
If underwater combat never returns...it will not be missed
I'm playing through Rise right now and can safely say I disdain Rampage quests compared to the old siege quests. It's a lot more frantic and I feel like I'm juggling way too many things.
What I hate about Rampage is the fact that it locks Ibushi behind a bunch of busywork to get another crack at a Wind Serpent Orb or Claw. It would be one thing if Ibushi dropped a bunch of materials on defeat but he doesn't.
I would love to see underwater water combat return, I understand why it probably won’t but God I miss it and the monsters it came with
MONSTER HUNTER 6 could get an Endgame siege quest that allows Players to Hunt all Final bosses in previous games.
I was never able to play a Monster Hunter game until World came out, but out of these five monsters you quoted Dire Miralis could be the most likely one that could return because even if on land it feels like a slowed down Fatalis that shoots magma balls; its fight isn't fully under water like Ceadeus (that can't return without the return of under water combat), so Dire Miralis fight could be changed and revamped just like how Fatalis was kinda revamped in the last title update of Iceborne, i think it in this way
Dalamadur could return too same with the Mohran’s. Zorah could return but as a different version that actually wants to fight us
I like to imagine a modern fight against Dire Miralis like a mixed Siege and Normal fight. Kinda like fighting Fatalis when he is on land and shifting to Siege when he goes into water.
@@walaceandrade4046 imho that would be annoying and boring, i highly prefer a revamp of Dire Miralis fight and moveset; that would be the best option
"As if the game had 28, instead of 14 different weapons"
MHGU with 84 weapon/style combinations: "Allow me to introduce myself"
And don't forget the prowlers
In Sekiro there is a very inconvenient boss that have two different movesets in and out of water, its called Headless
Dalamadur (and Raviente) best giant mosters ever
I would like to see a Monster hunter RPG open world with all the mechanic from all monter hunters game, like ff14 online.
A under water revamped would be cool.
