That's just as amazing as my first time playing "The Food Chain Dominator" was funny. Deviljho was on his last leg when he charged me, I dodge and he hit a wall. Water rushed through and carried him over the edge. I rushed to the edge and looked down and the mission success screen popped up. That bastard killed himself.
I will never underestimate a palico, especially my palico casper. Me and my uncle were hunting alatreon and both of us had been knocked back, however casper jumped in and was able to get the last few hits in for the elemental threshold, just before escaton judgement started. We beat alatreon in world finally thanks to my palico and now i never leave him, i even take him with me on all hunts on rise as my primary buddy.
@@GiddyFoxGaming it’s even better as i had designed and named casper after my old pet casper who passed away a long time ago. It just feels right to be hunting with my old pal.
One thing that's worth pointing out is that hunting horn players can make coral orchestra INCREDIBLY useful. The horn's "extend all melodies" song applies to those too, so you can have all of their effects active at once after a few minutes of fighting - attack boost, affinity boost, earplugs, defense up, stun resistance, tremor resistance, and whatever else have you.
Palicoes by default has a 50% chance of knocking you out of a stun or paralysis. Theres a mod that if you are okay with modding, can be useful in raising the chance to 90%. So the palicoes doesn't stand and stare at you sometimes and has a higher chance of saving you from that chance of carting.
I personally prefer the old palico affinity system where if you max out their heat level to 5, they'll almost always knock you out of stun or sleep and trigger their skills more frequently
Shieldspire is great for ranged weapons. If you're speedrunning a monster, it's a great palico gadget since it's stationary. The monster you're hunting is most likely to target it.
Honestly, even for close quarter weapons, the difference it provides is massive. A monster is particularly overwhelming with its attack patterns? No problem give yourself some time to recoup. It’s particularly good for wallbangs when a monster is a little too mobile and I find it a must run against, say, raging brachy. The one downside is that the moves are harder to predict because it’s just selecting moves at random to hit the shieldspire.
I have to give my props to the Shieldspire, having it on my Palico while fighting Fatalis. He guarded in front of me, saving me from his Firebreath cone, preventing my death and saving the entire hunt in that single moment as we got the dragonator off and killed him after.
The Wildspire Stooge is literally the best late game tool in the game. Your palico will almost always open with the max level palico gadget technique, so when you can let the palico put up one stooge automatically, then use the manual whistle to put up another stooge. The stooge takes higher aggro than the hunter by default, and you can go several minutes straight without a monster targeting you. It's especially useful on high mobility monsters that usually move around a lot.
Im finishing my first playthrough of mhw as a bow user and I've used the shieldspire the most for hard fights. Freeshooting and being able to heal safely while the monster is attacking the dummy is very nice. The only thing its kind hard to attack the monsters head, but skill issue. Need to play with the cocktail now, sounds fun!
I play mainly Dual Blades so the Shieldspire hasn't been super helpful. But I'll definitely give it another shot when I get some ranged weapons! Enjoy the Meowcano, that thing is sick!
I’m not sure how many people know of or remember this but Palicoes were broken in MH Freedom Unite, and I don’t mean they were really strong or did lore-defying bs, they were *genuinely* broken. In MHFU you can set your Felyne Comrades (Palicoes) to train certain stats like their Attack and Defense values, increase their “loyalty” which raised the odds of them assisting you, and add certain skills you want. Fun system. A bug exists in MHFU that can result in removing the stat ceilings for your Felyne Comrades entirely, as in they no longer have a limit to how much damage they can deal. I have no idea how this bug is triggered but it happened to a FC of mine named Chibi, who I had set to just train Attack damage. I didn’t realize how high his damage had become until he 2-shot a Low Rank Tigrex. Let me clarify something; *there isn’t a single end-game weapon available to a hunter that can do that.* I could genuinely solo the entire game relying on only my Felyne Comrade at that point lol
I swear I miss the palicoes in MHFU. My little Sofie was such a badass with their large barrel bombs, shock trap skills and horn skills. I like to think that World gotten its palico gadget inspiration from that since many of these gadgets were actually "skills" you buy and teach your palico with points.
I've always found my palico more useful than any player my own level could ever be. Sure it's a different story if a master rank player joins a low rank mission with their gear but exceptions like those aside, I genuinely prefer my palico. It's such a life saver, literally since I have mine on healing duty.

Palicos have always been amazing. Played since 4u. you can customize the hell outta them there. they pull aggro, you can slap status on them for extra DAMAGE, usually in every game they are in you can get 2 of them at once when soloing(you can trade your palimute in in rise for a second palico) and theres the entire recruiting system in 4u, and with world the entire questline to befriend the boaboa to unlock the ability to summon a second palico(grimalkyne) whenevs. (or you can go to their place instantly when you have enough levels with the type of cat and grab a specific one when you want) i.e teleporting to the shieldspire palicos(grimalkynes) in wildspire. Befriending the gajalaka in world unlocks a bunch of warps around elder's recess definitely worth it, also unlocks a chance for them to spawn with explosives which will attack anything and even down elders. Befriending the boaboa also unlocks this but with them spamming spears.
I still remember vividly how I found a wild palico named "A-lister Palico" he kept following me around and he helped me take down 2x Barioth, a Rathian and a Diablos in expedition. That was in 2018.
Shieldspire deserves to be waay higher, at least B rank. The stooge keeps aggro pretty consistently meaning you have some breathing room to sharpen, heal, buff or go for the tail. Just have to make sure to not get hit by any attacks meant for the stooge. The flashfly cage is great but its crippled hard late game since it barely effects elder dragons, which takes a full letter grade off imho
Man, i got over the dog on Rise, so, so fast. How the heck you expect me to get rid of my pal... -ico since Freedom Unite? Those little guys came in so clutch in that.
I’m surprised more people don’t run shieldspire. Having the 100% of the monster’s aggro taken up for 210 seconds every 60sec between the basic and 2⭐️ ability is a game changer. Bonus if your duo runs it on their pelico aswell. You can sharpen, heal, buff, get a trap ready, really anything you want while either ability is up. You can also have them be a mobile hammer with its 1⭐️ while your decoys and drum cool down, which usually gets the KO while active. It’s basically a permanent CC.
My first victory against Kirin, if I remember correctly, saw me equipping all Tobi Kadash armor except the head for Lightning Resistance... and the Palico Head Gear to boost my kitty. It was the only way I could figure out how to do enough damage to beat the hunt, and it did help.
Tbh shield spire is kind of op the dummy it makes gives you a large time frame to usually heal/buff/sharpen since i swear all the time the monsters will only agro to it, plus it takes a good time to destroy.
Yeah, it's a great gadget :D I just think Flashfly Cage does it better. But this changes greatly against Elder Dragons. Maybe run Flashfly Cage for everything but Elder Dragons, than switch to Shieldspire for the big bois. Thanks for watching!
@@GiddyFoxGamingI’d say even before. Many monsters will attack wildly while flashed, so they may suddenly charge in a different direction while you’re fighting. Stooge has them do the same, but you know exactly where. Sure, boom and shock are good, but have diminishing returns, and only last a few seconds. I’ve had several stooges last an entire ‘area’, with the monster leaving before the stooge fell. And since you have effectively two stooges, and as the OP said, they’re likely to start with it as well, you can have entire runs even against kushala and the like where they barely target you.
There are so many times where my lil Jello has straight up rocked a monster when I couldn't get it and had to restore my stamina or health and gave us an opportunity to beat that thing live. Kept me alive after a fatal knock out and helped with that extra boom boom at the end of hunts. My career wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful without him.
I just started playing recently, but I’ve already nearly maxed out my Shieldspire. I like playing lbg, so anything that will give me time to get into critical distance is great. I’ll probably switch to plunderblade whenever I get it though, since in MHGU my prowler had plunderang and I used it constantly.
I have to agree, my little furball boxed has saved me more times than i would like to admit. whether it be from stunning the monster at the right time, or coming in with a clutch save with the vigorwasp spray when i am about to die, or even dealing just enough elder seal damage to delay an elders special attack (mostly nergi's dive bomb and teostras nova) long enough for me to heal or get out of the way. ( I use mostly insect glaive, but can also switch between long sword, dual blades, and bow. Been thinking about giving charge blade a try)
me needing to sharpen weapon: ok monster should aggro palico next attack, nows my chance to sharpen. Palico: is that whetstone for me? better stand next to my hunter. me: this mf.
Love my palico. One more drawback about the flashfly cage though, I've had multiple occasions where I knocked the monster down and the flashfly cage was in the way of my attack, which blinded the monster so it got up immediately and switched to the blinded state instead.
My palico with the bann set is a life saver he puts the monsters to sleep allowing me to get a really good hit on them really useful for stuff like the rathian where the tail is a real problem
I agree with everything except the shield. The amount of time it spends attacking the dummy is huge, and often saves me. I'd argue it fulfills a similar purpose to the healing gadget, but it's more versatile in its uses.
If you're running a ranged build, the Shieldspire Stooge is actually pretty great for a damage spike, since it's a good period of time where you know exactly where the monster will be. It's pretty good against monsters who jump around a lot, or even Elder Dragons, since they're immune to traps. All the tools are useful, you just need to know how to use them, and if you coordinate with other players, you can always have an extra healer, DPS booster, extra damage, and traps.
Happy to help :D I LOVE the FlashFly Cage, I think that helps me the most with hunts besides Elder Dragons. Good luck and if you ever need a hand, drop in our Discord and we can help you!
Shieldspire palico is not just useful for gunners, it also allows long gunlance users to set up WSB and do charge shelling more consistently (it takes a while for charged shelling to pop) while the dummy and the palico pull the monster's aggro. Sure palicoes will take some hit by default, but the shield makes them last longer. Outside that, I can see why its appeal doesn't fit with other weapons or playstyles. Putting that in F tier is a tad cruel for its benefits and use-case IMO. If anything I'd put that in D tier. Situational but not that horrendous.
Oh I think Shieldspire is still a great gadget, I just don't think the other gadgets are worse than it. For fringe uses its REALLY good, but overall I don't think it does enough ☺️
The best gadgets are shieldspire, plunder blade and meowlotov. Shieldspire provides the best CC. Plunder blade provides the best loot, meowlotov provides the best damage. If you struggle, go with shieldspire. If you don't, go with meowlotov to increase the kill speed. If you want loot, go with plunder blade. Wasp is only really good for learning fights since it gives you some extra tries without taking aggro from you. The flash fly suffers from several issues. As mentioned the elder dragon problem. But also things like the electric trap having diminishing return (and if you kill it so fast that isn't an issue, you're better off going with Meowlotov anyways). Shieldspire provides equally good CC except it works all the time, and your cat will never run out of HP. Coral is okay but Meowlotov just does more if you want kill speed. And if you are getting hit you're probably better off with other options. I guess it kinda does a little bit of everything (besides extra loot), though. Also if you're soloing and level the tribes, you get an item in iceborne that lets you summon an additional cat and a monster to help you out so you essentially got a full party without having to faff around. They're obviously not as good as players, but they still provide a decent amount of value and the monster stays at solo levels of HP. As for weapons, sleep is the best one unless you got one yourself. Just plop some bombs on it and wake up hit for massive damage. I do not recommend stacking the same statuses like some people say, like blast. Sure it triggers faster, but you got diminishing return so it'll also just stop working faster. Also you can ping to make the cat come to you if you need help to get out of stuns etc. (although this can backfire if the monster is pummeling the monster). If you cover all the CC statuses yourself (e.g. coatings) I'd probably just put whatever element the monster is weak against on it for extra meowlotov damage.
palicos are the best. i soloed the whole game as well. i wouldnt have made it without my precious cat. saved my life all the time. this channel has grown alot in 6 months. nice nice
Your genuine enthusiasm is so refreshing to listen too. My favorite gadget has to be the plunder blade, because of the money it gives. Not only that but it has stolen mantles I needed for crafting on multiple occasions.
Hey thanks, that's very kind of you. It's a great game and I can't wait to make more video about it 😁 Oh nice! Getting a mantle from the Plunderblade feels SO good.
There was a thing a few years ago where someone was doing builds entirely around palico DPS. I think he beat Fatalis entirely with Palico/ Tailraider damage. Although look it up yourself cuz im trying to remember something i barely payed attention too 2 years ago.
Thanks for the video. I'm new to monster hunter (started in january this year meaning 2024 for future reference) And I love it. YES PALICOS ARE AMAZING saved me countless times and made hunting much easier :) Me and my palico Meowchael are a team :)
Palicos are definitely under rated, especially the prowlers in Generations and GU. People think they're an easy mode but no, they have a TON of customisation and can be like any other weapon, as easy or complex as you choose. When I had to wait for Rise (as World wouldn't work on my pc) I played all weapons in runs and THEN did all Prowler type runs. The different prowlers changed how I took on monsters in each run just like the main weapons did. You can make some seriously crazy teams with them.
Good video, I'd say all the Gadgets are worth using depending on playstyle but I couldn't really argue with their rankings either If there's bit of constructive criticism I can offer, the volume on some of the sound effects you used was much louder than the dialog or music, it scared the pants off me and made me think I got the first pop up ad I've gotten in like 20 years
Palico's are truly amazing. I am playing mhp3rd as my first game and they are so useful. They clear out all the small monsters that irritate you during battles. They lure the monster towards themselves so you can heal. They also down the monsters sometimes which is super useful. Also when I get stunned or fall asleep the hit me to wake me up. I think I would have died twice as many times if it weren't for the palico's.
Legit. I use Shieldspire stooge, with a Poison weapon on my Palico, Lunasia. As a LBG main. The stooge is literal God-Tier in terms of keeping the monster's attention off of me, which allows me to get in far, FAR more damage than the other gadgets, since I'm not having to waste as much time dodging, or healing. With the palico on a Poison weapon. I can get a easy 2, to 3 poison procs a hunt, and since Poison does like 3%, or 4% of the monster's HP per proc. it means I can shave off anywhere from 6% to 12% of the Monster's HP a hunt, which can REALLY make up a lot of needed damage.
Good tech! I primarily use Dual Blades so Shieldspire wasn't too great but I'll definitely give it a go when I get a bunch of ranged weapon hunts in! You got a great set up, awesome!
@@GiddyFoxGaming ^u^ I will admit that while a Paralysis, or Sleep weapon on the Palico is nice, and all. The fact you can only net 1, or 2 procs a hunt, and the monsters wake up faster from sleep{From what I can tell}, and the Para build up seems to skyrocket higher than the others. Makes Poison more reliable. Unlike Sleep, you don't have to worry about restocking the bombs, or para's need of being in a good spot to maximize damage. Poison just.. Goes brr for Damage. Plain, and simple. But it does lack the CC comfort of Sleep, and Paralysis.
I wish there was an option (or at least a mod) to hide a Palico's head armor though. I spent all this time making my cute kitty companion only to have them completely obscured by armor almost all the time... And I don't want to sacrifice defense by not giving them a helmet.
One thing to note tho, Bowgun builds can have less survivability skills with the shieldspire. The agro prevention that the dummy ay max lvl can be a huge benefit if you run ranged glass cannon builds.
Palico’s are suspiciously good at getting a stun or tail cut In Rise I gave mine a sleep weapon with blunt damage and I can’t count on my hands how many times they help with stuns due to the move shock tripper which not only makes enemies take more stun damage but also allows all damage to deal stun (I really want prowler mode to return)
My Hissa dealt a killing blow with his Nergi hammer tonight (Dodogama) I was...on the ground somewhere. He has the Pukei gear and I'm leveling the shieldspire at the moment.
My Palico/Felyne from MHFU is named Udon. He wields a banner and stirs me when I'm stunned, breaks me free when I'm frozen, heals me clutch with his health flute, and even knocks monsters over when he strikes them with his hammer with blunt damage. My last what hunting a Black Diablos, Black Gravios, and Nargacuga, he *killed* the Black Diablos. 😎 What a Chad.

(Though I'm sure it won't be long until that changes)
I'm playing MHGU, and my two main palicoes are awesome, one leaves bombs on the field for great monsters or flashes them, the other one sets poison traps and gives me health, and attack boosts. Im training a third one who goes berserk and deals as much raw damage as he can, probably renaming him Guts later, XD. I love them
for a solo hunter like me, Palico is a must. Still, for every time that my cat saved my ass, there are twice as many times he ignored me whistling for a vigorwasp lol
My palico is the perfect distraction, he (almost) always gives me some time to heal during hunts while he takes the beating. Edit: Also subbed cause cool video
The vigorwasp gadget on the final level doesnt prevent you from carting just once, it just has an enormous cooldown because i swear during a very long solo hunt on an arch tempered teostra it saved me twice. once early and once very late

Shieldspire is great for ranged weapons.
If you're speedrunning a monster, it's a great palico gadget since it's stationary. The monster you're hunting is most likely to target it.
Good call, that's definitely a good application for it 😁
Honestly, even for close quarter weapons, the difference it provides is massive.
I can see it being used on Odogaron and Rajang as well just to make them stop in place for a second
This. I remembered that Anjanath was a very problematic monster for me to hunt but after my Nicole got a Shieldspire, Anjanath was a joke to me haha
It's pretty decent, but I like the traps better :)
Enjoy the Meowcano, that thing is sick!
the revive ability is really good, saved me on a lot of hunts!
Definitely!
Let me clarify something; *there isn’t a single end-game weapon available to a hunter that can do that.*
I could genuinely solo the entire game relying on only my Felyne Comrade at that point lol
I swear I miss the palicoes in MHFU. My little Sofie was such a badass with their large barrel bombs, shock trap skills and horn skills.
I like to think that World gotten its palico gadget inspiration from that since many of these gadgets were actually "skills" you buy and teach your palico with points.
I subbed cuz of this video. I love my palico! It's great seeing them get the love they deserve.
Welcome to the Bazelgoon Squad! Glad to have you along for the journey :D

I see what you did there
I'm so glad somebody noticed that haha
"Palicos are underrated!" said no sane person, EVER.
I've always found my palico more useful than any player my own level could ever be.
Sure it's a different story if a master rank player joins a low rank mission with their gear but exceptions like those aside, I genuinely prefer my palico. It's such a life saver, literally since I have mine on healing duty.
Wow what a good Video! Nice cutting, gameplay and Jokes (liked 7:14 very much). And its very helpful for beginers like me lol i didnt even knew that gadget wäre a Thing. Good job dude

The fact that they aggro the monster sometimes giving you some time of is already amazing
Agreed!
What’s awesome and what I love is the fact people are still doing videos on this game thank you for making this video
Monster Hunter World is gonna be a classic that lives on for a long time. It's such a good game
I still remember vividly how I found a wild palico named "A-lister Palico" he kept following me around and he helped me take down 2x Barioth, a Rathian and a Diablos in expedition. That was in 2018.
Dang, that's a powerhouse of a Palico haha
Bro just hit us with a BOOM HEADSHOT from Pure Pwnage. God I miss that series.
Palicos are nuts, love 'em :)
The gong from the coral Orchestra has saved my life multiple times and for that it’s S for me. Great video tho

Hey thanks! I really appreciate it. And thanks for watching 😁 got a favorite palico gadget?
the bomb gadget lets your cat place a bomb down when you place a mega barrel down. its very cute
So good!
It works! Whatever it takes!
I miss my palico twink wrangler every time i go in a mission that doesnt allow him i feel like im truly alone
You said "Meow back to the video" Don't think I didn't catch that.
Good catch indeed!
finally, some great appreciation for our little felyne fellas here. best bros you can have, they even kick you out of stuns, sleep or paras.
So true! They're amazing and I hope this video will help more people realize it :D
I am genuinely subscribing JUST for this XD
Good choice!
My palico that kept plunder blade throughout my playthrough got me so many mantles and gems its insane
Sneaky little thief! 💪😁
you forgot the last one the Tailraider Signal that you get from the Boaboa it calls a random wild cat to help you fight with a friendly small monster
You are correct! I didn't even know it was a gadget until after I made this haha. Good catch!
As a solo player, that item is great.
Sometimes I do wish Palicoes could have layered armor like Rise though.
Yeah I'd like that too. MH6 maybe!
What a good kitty you have 😁
I switched from using melee weapons to instead use bowguns so my attacks wouldn't get in the way of my palico, now the hunts go smooth like butter...
Lol good job to your hunter!
Every time they save, it feels amazing. I love it
Palico insurance + insurance meal for both players and you got 4 extra carts
thank you, :D got game on sale on PC. i played it on 3ds. Palicos are best friends! :D
Super awesome! Hope you have a blast! 💪
me needing to sharpen weapon: ok monster should aggro palico next attack, nows my chance to sharpen.
Palico: is that whetstone for me? better stand next to my hunter.
me: this mf.
Bahaha, you know those cats are always pranksters too :P
Love my palico. One more drawback about the flashfly cage though, I've had multiple occasions where I knocked the monster down and the flashfly cage was in the way of my attack, which blinded the monster so it got up immediately and switched to the blinded state instead.
The battlefield can be hectic sometimes haha
My palico with the bann set is a life saver he puts the monsters to sleep allowing me to get a really good hit on them really useful for stuff like the rathian where the tail is a real problem
I agree with everything except the shield. The amount of time it spends attacking the dummy is huge, and often saves me. I'd argue it fulfills a similar purpose to the healing gadget, but it's more versatile in its uses.
Everyone can have their own opinion 😊
If you're running a ranged build, the Shieldspire Stooge is actually pretty great for a damage spike, since it's a good period of time where you know exactly where the monster will be. It's pretty good against monsters who jump around a lot, or even Elder Dragons, since they're immune to traps. All the tools are useful, you just need to know how to use them, and if you coordinate with other players, you can always have an extra healer, DPS booster, extra damage, and traps.
Agreed!
Thanks for this vid man appreciate it much
Any time! Glad it helped 😊
thanks for this! ive been using the vigorwasp for my whole run now so far so ive been looking to mix it up. I still cart a lot though so we'll see lol
Happy to help :D I LOVE the FlashFly Cage, I think that helps me the most with hunts besides Elder Dragons. Good luck and if you ever need a hand, drop in our Discord and we can help you!
Don't forget that you also can command your palico to do things - a friend of mine and I are comboing the meowcano with the shocktrap for instance.
It's the best! Double boombug is my favorite 💪
It's the best! Double boombug is my favorite 💪
If you cover all the CC statuses yourself (e.g. coatings) I'd probably just put whatever element the monster is weak against on it for extra meowlotov damage.
palicos are the best. i soloed the whole game as well. i wouldnt have made it without my precious cat. saved my life all the time. this channel has grown alot in 6 months. nice nice
Palicos are the bomb 💪
Haha thanks friend!

Fantastic video!
Thank you very much!
If you equip the meowlotov cocktail your Palico will also set bombs of his own alongside you when getting ready to wake up a monster
Love when that happens lol
the meowthat cocktail palico will also put a bomb in the floor alongside you when the monster is sleeping!
That's right, good call!
I accidentally solo cleared Alatreon on a plunderblade run because my cat helped break the dps-checks. Furever grateful
Amazing! That's awesome 💪
I love mounting the monster and as I’m stabbing it’s back I see my Palio on it’s tail stabbing with its plunderblade. Brings a tear to my eye.
Coordinated attacks!
i think all of the gadgets would have been really cool when i was doing the story but the grimalkynes are so hard to find
They aren't too bad in Expeditions
Your genuine enthusiasm is so refreshing to listen too. My favorite gadget has to be the plunder blade, because of the money it gives. Not only that but it has stolen mantles I needed for crafting on multiple occasions.
Hey thanks, that's very kind of you. It's a great game and I can't wait to make more video about it 😁
Oh nice!
My Palico beat Tempered Ruiner Nergigante by itself and it was sick. Fatalis is quite the feat!

Meowchel, the bestest companion out there :) I mean, not as good as my cat Punchy, but still good ;)
@@GiddyFoxGaming Thanks and sorry for the typo. It's Meowchael. I'll fix it :)
💪💪
bro the amount of times my Palico hit a monster with *THE GONG* and straight up saved me from some big ass attack....they are the real MVP's.
The CC is so nice very often!
PALICOES are my favorite part of any monster hunter game because they're so helpful
Heck yeah! They're great! What's your Palicos name?
Millie!! On my other game my palico's name is Gaia
Good video, I'd say all the Gadgets are worth using depending on playstyle but I couldn't really argue with their rankings either
If there's bit of constructive criticism I can offer, the volume on some of the sound effects you used was much louder than the dialog or music, it scared the pants off me and made me think I got the first pop up ad I've gotten in like 20 years
Totally agree. I had a lot to learn about sound effect when I was getting started on TH-cam haha. Thanks friend!
They the best 💪
@@lunardian8082 That works!
Congrats on 10k subs! I just saw the part where u showed u were at 150 when posting this lol
Thanks so much! Yeah it's kinda crazy how fast we've grown :)
I wish there was an option (or at least a mod) to hide a Palico's head armor though. I spent all this time making my cute kitty companion only to have them completely obscured by armor almost all the time... And I don't want to sacrifice defense by not giving them a helmet.
Your Palico is essentially immortal and always available in a hunt. Taking off it's helmet will lower it's effectiveness very little
One thing to note tho, Bowgun builds can have less survivability skills with the shieldspire. The agro prevention that the dummy ay max lvl can be a huge benefit if you run ranged glass cannon builds.
I'll definitely be trying this out when I start playing ranged weapons. Makes sense to me!
I'd like to see a video like this for Rise!
Palico’s are suspiciously good at getting a stun or tail cut
In Rise I gave mine a sleep weapon with blunt damage and I can’t count on my hands how many times they help with stuns due to the move shock tripper which not only makes enemies take more stun damage but also allows all damage to deal stun
(I really want prowler mode to return)
My Hissa dealt a killing blow with his Nergi hammer tonight (Dodogama) I was...on the ground somewhere. He has the Pukei gear and I'm leveling the shieldspire at the moment.
Awesome haha
My Palico/Felyne from MHFU is named Udon. He wields a banner and stirs me when I'm stunned, breaks me free when I'm frozen, heals me clutch with his health flute, and even knocks monsters over when he strikes them with his hammer with blunt damage. My last what hunting a Black Diablos, Black Gravios, and Nargacuga, he *killed* the Black Diablos. 😎 What a Chad.

Coming from FromSoft games, just having a guy there that randomly takes aggro for you is extremely OP when you're learning the game I definitely should've carted a lot more times than I have, and the palico is probably the reason I haven't fully failed a mission yet. (Though I'm sure it won't be long until that changes)
It's nice to get some breathing room here and there haha
I'm playing MHGU, and my two main palicoes are awesome, one leaves bombs on the field for great monsters or flashes them, the other one sets poison traps and gives me health, and attack boosts.
Im training a third one who goes berserk and deals as much raw damage as he can, probably renaming him Guts later, XD. I love them
Sounds awesome! 😁
