Slivers are amazing if I was playing back then I’d for sure make a sliver deck. But that being said. The shadow mechanic is sweet. That demon with shadow. WOW.
One of my most favorite cards out of this set is clockspinning. One blue Mana to help out your planeswalker or take away from theirs. Also a buy back three to do it all over again. Totally amazing
man i so miss the brown bordered artifacts too. ;-; i started in Invasion in 2001 and well i love the art and frame from that era and before. BRING BACK MUD ARTIFACTS ;-;
I loved this set, I remember walking to the local card shop when I lived in the city and buy the tournament packs and boosters. I loved the old art on them. Nice opening Joey and yeah they are getting harder to find the old stuff. People buy the old boxes and open them, and it makes it even more harder to find them.

I remember keeping 1 Plague Sliver in my sideboard for the eventual sliver deck match up. It was a big surprise to my opponent when that came out and he was eating 5-8 damage per turn from his own creatures.

My favorite card from back in the day was Beast of Burden from Urza's Legacy. had 2 in a horribly lame deck and just loved it when I was able to cast it and see how big it was. . . Giggaddee!. Sharing to FB ma DOOD!
Ancestral vision and academy ruins back-to-back is super brutal. If you want, I'd be glad to take those off your hands, so you guys wont have to be bothered with them. No need to thank me, just being a ninja. xD

Time Spiral was my first booster box. Slivers were the best in this block. Pulled a foil Sliver Legion from Future Sight. Congrats on the Browns finally winning. Lol

This reminded me of how I pulled a Lord of the Pit from my first 4th Edition pack. I got a Force of Nature in my second one. Really wish I still had my old cards from Beta and Revised too. I had a full set of the original dual lands. I also had 4 original Icy Manipulators from Ice Age, and Winter Orb, Chaos Orb, Polar Kraken, Nev's Disk...
Didn’t play back in the day. But one of my favorite cards nowadays would be Lilliana, untouched by death
I started during the Urza block however my favorite card/cards was the BFM from unglued. I just thought it was badass that it required two cards. Gotcha like and share to FB right here buddy. Skadoosh.

I opened so many boxes of Time Spiral. It was my first block.
Looking back, some of these cards that were deemed bad are super expensive. Gemstone Cavern is a $25 card now 😂 He did WAY better than we thought
While not in Time Spiral but in Planar Chaos, Dormant Sliver was by far my favorite Sliver out of the entire block. Wild Pair and Cloudstone Curio just made them explode.
time spiral was the set out when i first got into magic, i remember pulling the time shifted nico bolas in one of the first packs i got.
Ghostfame sliver was my favorite cuz a multi color deck that was immune to protection from color was and still is very fun especially when your opponent plays turn 2 circle of protection

Just started watching your videos and I cant stop watching. Your videos are great. Then I saw this video and just flipped out. I had just started playin when Timespiral came out and it was the first set I bought a box of. Havent watched the video yet so this should be fun.
I think one of my favorite older cards is Restore Balance. I used it to level the playing field against my brother's Protean Hulk lol.
How do you feel about the value of this set with the upcoming Time Spiral Remastered in March?

Blows right past the Avalanche Riders... Gaea's Liege was from The Dark. I have a full play set that I used to use in a mono-green ramp deck.
Remember playing all gold border legends era with revised dual lands before there was pro-tour... Then ice age, fallen empires, and chronicles reprinted messed it all up..alot of us thought mtg was over and sold everything. Just back in about 3 months, and seems like this LGS/ ravnica controversy, people think it will be over soon again or go to arena...

Heavy gamble, seldom opened for just that reason but this opening will live forever on TH-cam. Took me back some. I wouldn't touch or play with these. Reserve list is a thing and some of these will find their way on that list. Thank you for unique content Chris.

I love old box openings....so many cool cards, really takes me back. My favorite card(s) from back then are kind of a tossup....come on....who really can narrow it down to one card?
I am gonna say the Royal Assassin, Icy Manipulator (original Alpha, Beta, Unlimited artwork), War Barge with Merfolk Assassin, and Sivitri Scarzam (terrible stats wise but awesome art) and Ramirez DePietro from Legends were some of my favorite cards.
Gemstone caverns and academy ruins are two of the money cards. This set wasn’t great except the old cards in it. Nicol bolas is like 80 bucks
Last printed sliver was in m15. For those wondering.
That's where they mucked up the art design for them. People wanted Slivers not water downed Predator looking creatures.
@@Battleguild Actually the art was originally messed up starting with the m14 slivers these were just a continuation.

@@Battleguild yep started with strking sliver, bonescythe sliver, etc that's where the bulk of them were then in m15 they printed 5 more, one for each color. I'm personally split on the artwork, but I also got into magic right before m14
i forgot to add, Double Strike came in Legions.. and boy a few of us flipped out!
LOL! TRISKLAVUS is a word play on two Artifact Creatures: TRISKELION and PENTAVUS. All 3 are a nod to TERRAVUS from Antiquities. Reading Terravus textbox is like reading a damn novel but not as confusing as RAGING RIVER :)

So in my commander deck there are a lot of tokens and I found a badass card that fucks other token decks. Its called Koskun Falls and I love it so. But I also love any card that has Raymond Swanland art on it.

Geas liege was already in 4th edition, though I am also not sure where it came from, but that was well before mirage
The card was apart of the OG and was rare. I remember making a few decks around him and turning all there lands to forests
@@jeremyshaffer8777 I wonder why he is not played in old school way more often ? After all blood moon is a big thing there for the same reason, and there are many very powerful lands in the format, especially library of alexandria (which is so powerfull that brian weissman claims if someone plays an early library, and you have no answer, he has a 90% win rate, which is why he advocates for banning it in the format), but also bazaar of bagdad, mishras factory, Maze if ith etc.etc.etc plus many play 3+ colors so this is a perfect way to mana screw them (especially of you attack non green dual lands, killing the access to 2 colors in one strike, let alone city of brass).
Having one in game could already do serious damage that way, now imagine 2, let alone 3 or 4
