The timeshifted cards are such a funny idea.
That smallpox art brings back memories of when I first joined MTG. It was just after Avacyn Restored released. I bought the new phyrexia intro deck and thought UB was the coolest thing ever. Then somebody told me there was a whole block of zombie cards. So NATURALLY I had to go out and make a Grimgrin EDH. I kinda sorta accidentally made it into a really hard lockdown control deck that used the zombies as beaters. The first time I played the deck, i got t2 Smallpox out, and the whole table targeted me. When I asked why they said "because you gave us smallpox"
Nothing better then getting back from the first game of the season for hockey then having a MTGHeadquarters video to enjoy
So much nostalgia with Time Spiral! 2006 was around the time I started playing magic.
limited in time spiral was chaotic. you had the time shifted cards from older sets and in future sight you had the "future" cards with the weird sideways border. this was before planeswalkers and mythics so the super powerful cards were rares. also alot of the cards were short printed adding to the value.
I was also playing Yu-gi-oh on a competitive level and a "newb" at mtg. I had been playing for a while but didn't know some of the older keywords like banding or shaddow or horsemanship, so the time shift cards threw me off and gave the guys that had been playing when those mechanics came out an advantage.
all-in-all it was a fun time to be learning mtg and great to draft.

I believe that with time spiral, the extra cards you kept finding were old cards from old sets, to signify the chaos of time.

Even back in the day, i always felt the gold cards looked like shit. It wasnt even gold back then, it was green/yellow piss color.

there was an extra card because this set ha time shifted cards, which were reprints of old cards with new formatting
not a bad set of cards. Always fun to get a foil time shifted card.
They are called timeshifted cards lol. When the set first launched, the most expensive card in the set was akroma angel of wrath, a time shifted card

Sadly the only Nicol Bolas (pre-Planeswalker card type) still valuable are the original printing in Legends or the foil alternate art in From The Vault: Dragons.

I miss when you spent a little more time talking about the sets you open for FPF. You gave us the history and the themes, and then you also wouldn't be confused when something is different about the packs (timeshifted cards, for example). I know you figured it out as you went, but it just feels like you don't care as much about the material when you don't talk about and know what your getting into. Plus it's nice as an audience to know whats going on, giving us some context.
