I walk everyday in KL when I'm in town and once I walked from Bukit Bintang to the Great Eastern Mall (not impressed) and returned on Ampang Hilir and saw all the embassies. I tried to take a pic of the US Embassy and guards ran out and yelled "No Pictures". Oh well! 🤣
Once I walked from Bukit Bintang to Bangsar. And another time to Mid Valley mall. My friend traveled with me once to KL and I took him walking in the heat/humidity and now he won't travel with me anymore.🤣
I walk a lot of miles because when in KL I'm always eating! The food is so good.
Happy 70th Taylor!!
I know those routes and I used to walk when it's cloudy or drizzling. The embassy rows walking under the big trees was a pleasant experience.
You walk from Bukit Bintang to Bangsar? You must have legs of steel
@roslimosman3553 And in the middle o the day!😁 When in Malaysia, I am either walking or eating. 🐷
@@darrylk808 oh my god. You must have loved blazing sun than 😅. No malaysians walk in the sun for more than 10 minutes 😅
@roslimosman3553 My wife tells me that the locals see me walking and say: "Who is that idiot out walking in the middle of the day?" 😂
Best voice on youtube by far!! Go Taylor!! THank you for all your great video's.
Wow, thank you! ☺️
70 is the new 50... Have a sparkling birthday!
Wow Taylor, you look 70 years young! Happy Birthday! 🎉
Thanks, Taylor. I am so glad you've discovered Desa ParkCity and especially the dogs and dog people at the Arkadia Plaza shopping center. On my first visit there several years ago, I decided ParkCity would be my location when I finally have MM2H status. Not only is it well planned, but if one is active, there are so many walking/running paths and bike lanes and pools. I can't wait.
BTW, there have been rumblings within the government in the last few days about MM2H, finally. That will be a great video for you to do, perhaps with one of the local agents (agents will be required) to highlight the new, easier (I hope!) processes for expatriates to get their residency visas.
Yes, hope it’s soon. 🤞
I'd love to see a follow-up to this video showing us what each of the areas looks like... what is there to do in each one... parks, walking paths, restaurants, street-life, etc... Cheers and thanks!
Happy 70th Birthday in advance to Andrew Taylor 🎂🎈🎊🎁🥳🎉😘
Thank you ☺️
I'm certain that many new expatriates will find your video very useful. I hope that your 70th birthday is a very special one.
Many thanks!☺️

Whenever I get a new video notification, that day is bound to be a great day… I hope to meet with you one day!! from Atlanta, GA
Great tour, T!!

This is helpful. Thanks
Would love to see a video for Penang on this topic
Good morning Taylor 🌄 thanks for making a video weekly 🌹 yes expats just like to stick together it's like of students of same country or region like to group together in the foreign countries 😁
Funny when Taylor refers to himself in the 3rd person...🤣🤣🤣
Excellent video, Thank you!!❤💁🏾♂️🇺🇲🌏✈️🙏🏾

Happy birthday Taylor 🎊🎈🎁🎉🎂! You have a great voice for voiceovers!

I think about moving to Malaysia but still the long way to go, btw love your info.Thank you Taylor !
Your videos are always so honest which I believe what people enjoy with your videos. Genuine and authentic :)

Blessed Birthday in advance. Have a great one! 🎉
Thanks so much
Happy Birthday Taylor 🎉 Hope you have something fabulous planned 😊 And thank you for this video, I like green neighbourhoods where you can walk and esp hear birdsong.
Thank you!! 😊
Taylor, thanks for amazing info on the expat rental market. This is excellent for potential condo investor.
My pleasure!
Happy Birthday 🎉just subscribed to your channel it's great xx
Thanks for subbing! 🤗
Good job again Cupcake!
Happy birthday
😊
Good luck🎉🎉🎉
They all sound amazing especially Desa ParkCity! Not so sure why you prefer Penang still when KL has its own charms and nearby an international airport makes it so much more convenient (and affordable)?
With Penang, you can breathe. It’s less a hectic place. You’re not as encroached as in KL. Some of the best foods are found at Gurney Plaza. My dream place to live is a condo within 5 minutes of walking distance from that plaza.
Hi Taylor! I just started subscribing to your channel and I love you so much!!
My husband and I have retired in Thailand last October and I really enjoy watching your adventure 💗
Thanks for subbing! ☺️
Love this stuff, next time I'm going to sign a lease.
Good day Sir
I just came across your video
Haven't seen you in a while
Hope you are well
Great stuff! I also really liked Publix that you featured in a previous vid! Happy 70th!
Glad you liked it!
I wish I could get into a situation like Taylor. I just handle the high heat and humidity of Southeast Asia, and living 24/7 with Air conditioning to keep from feeling worn out, even hiding out everyday from 12 pm to 5 pm.
Usually, you find yourself eating less and sweating more. As a result, your weight goes down and you can tolerate the heat more.
@@heythaveNope hot weather has little affect on my appetite, unfortunately I have much less energy so I gain weight every summer.
HI Taylor! Another excellent and informative video! Our family always cheers up hearing your voice! Can you do a video on Gamuda Cove. We are thinking about moving to Malaysia and living there. Thanks again for your amazing videos!
Oh, never heard of Gamuda Cove. Looked it up. It’s way too far from KLCC!
Thanks for looking it up! @@andrewtaylor4558
Taylor saved the best for last. Desa Parkcity is usually the last township to be discovered by expats who have lived in KL for some time. It doesn’t feel crowded. Lauded for its premium homes and liveability. A short driving distance to Mutiara Damansara and Bandar Utama where it host many big malls e.g. Aeon Mall, Ikea, IPC (Ikano Power Centre) and The Curve. Far from the CBD but with highways, it is a short journey to the city.
Seems like you need a car though to live there? I checked out public transportation from there and also from damsnsara heights. Seems like a very long and difficult journey to the center
@@Chris-dw6cu Yes, for Desa Parkcity. Malaysia is car-centric nation like the US even though KL has extensive lines of metro system.
Great TH-cam channel! Love your style and content! Any news about the MM2H criteria?
Not yet ☺️
Many Malaysians live on USD200-USD250 monthly rentals less the amenities
Please do a video on Desa Park and the Dog Park “ For Us Dog Lovers” thanks again and Have a Happy Birthday Taylor!
Found your channel as I'm thinking about moving to KL but now I'm gonna use this channel as my go to asmr 😅
Awww, thanks. 🙏
Happy Birthday. I hope all your birthday wishes and dreams come true for you are special and wonderful person.😊
Thank you so much 😀
Welcome.Take care
Yes, short stay accom can be an issue. I been in KLCC 2 yers now and some guests would rent one bedroom then have 5 + staying there. Also handing out the key cards so outsiders can use pool gym etc. The body corp has clamped down on this and all guest need to be registered and photo ID. Has improved the living. Some great places and info, now got me looking if KLCC is best for me. Have great birthday, no dancing on tables or any thing silly now.
Thanks! 😂
Can't wait to see if there will be a retirement visa. Fingers crossed 🤞
Enjoy celebrating the 31st anniversary of your 39th birthday. Nice seeing Earl Gray at the beginning of the vlog.
Thank you!
Hi Taylor, Wishing you a very Happy 70th Birthday, n many happy returns of the day ya!❤❤🎉🎉 Stay safe always ya !🎁👏🍺🍺🍰
Thank you so much!!
Desa Park City is number one choice. Used to be Bangsar
Good morning!!!
❤️
I live in Bangsar South and love it
What do you love about it?
@@rlmint it’s got everything and very convenient location
Are you close to a train line there?
@@heythave yes at Gateway mall University LRt
May I ask how many bedrooms do you have and how much is the rent?
Good range and overview with options abundant. Bangsar should be added as a prime expat neighbourhood of course, but like you said the list goes on and on. In the last 5 years we kived in landed properties in Bangsar and Desa Sri Hartamas, before we moved over to a fabulous condo here in KLCC right opposite the Petronas towers. All on one floor, one minute walk to Suria KLCC, we found our spot and will stay here for as long as we can😊
Have a good weekend!
I did talk about Bangsar! Email me if you would like your apartment on my channel. Taylorboz96@gmail.com
Thanks Taylor, I dropped you an email.😊
What condo is it? Sounds great!

🎊 🐾 🐾 Hope Your birthday 🎂 was wonderful Taylor!!! Thank you as always for your great videos! Taylor, do you have a video or have you mentioned getting dental cleanings/ work done in Malaysia? Wondering how your experience has been? 🦷 The non-fun stuff 🙄 but thought I would ask 😊
Yes, I go to Quest Dental in Desa Pandan. It’s very good.
I used to stay in Damansara Heights when I was Help University student. Okay it is near Bangsar and also Mid Valley
Mont Kiara/Hartamas are the best! (I may be biased) I cant move anywhere else. Cheaper options available in Hartamas. More basic units of course.
Thanks! I hope to live part time in Malaysia when I retire. I love the country. Not so much the heat/humidity. LOL
You can do it!
It is the same story everywhere in the world, city centre areas are very expensive....the one for MYR15,000 would be beyond the reach of most I'd say....finding a studio in Bangsar for less than MYR1000 a month is incredible!!!
Another insightful and engaging video on life in KL. Thank you! One concern about condo buildings, particularly high rise ones, is the safety and integrity of the buildings. We have wondered about building codes and standards. In neighbouring Singapore, the standards seem to be very high, as is the enforcement. What about KL? How do potential renters (or buyers) find out about a building’s quality?
I think the quality of construction is excellent. Final finishing not so much.
Your comment about Airbnb rentals is really important in condo searches. I would make sure a building prohibits short term rentals. It's a headache to find a condo pool and gym full each day with transient holiday guests or to find the lobby and elevators occupied with luggage carts.
So true!
Happy 70 th Birthday
Awesome video
Re :- The restaurant Sausage KL in the building.
Nothing like popping down stairs for a bit of sausage mate😂.
Ara Damansara...near Subang Airport..... PJ
I wanted to point out that Ampang Hilir or Taman Tar is more preferred by expat with family with children going to school as ISKL(American School) is in Ampang… Used to stay in Taman TAR 10 years ago… So, not sure how it is now…
Thank you for this vid. Helps me with my future search, should MM2H (revamped) makes sense. As with anything Malaysia, one step forward, a half step back and then side steps that make little sense. Holding my breath (not). :-) No matter, KL is still a nice spot to end up.
😂
Thanks Taylor👍
Brilliant video and very informative too👏👏 I’m thinking of moving out to KL in august? I was going to move to Thailand but with their new tax laws it makes it impossible now! Taylor is it cheaper to rent in rainy season? I mean do prices come down even if you want a 12 month deal in rainy season?
No, the rents aren’t cheaper during rainy season! 😂 It always feels like rainy season to me. 😂
For a single person like me, I prefer 500 square feet or less.
Agree perfect Size
Too big I feel lonely
Don't have anymore space than you need to cut down not only rent but cooling costs and cleaning costs.
what do you do when you're in Malaysia ?:)
@@gtian9846 I guess
Enjoy life at a lower cost
Desa Parkcity: Sofiya is next to South Brooks, both in Desa parkcity. The rental for Sofiya is much lower than SB because it is an "affordable housing" with less facilities than a full condo.
Thanks!
Definitely Bangsar !
Hello Taylor. Great job! Any advice on how to connect with a realtor to take me around and schedule showings? Anyone in particular you'd recommend? And on a side note, would you be interested in organizing a local meet-up? For expats, TH-camrs and Retirees to get together. Sounds like a lot of work organizing something like that, but you are such a showman, I bet it would be a huge success. You may not realize it, but you are growing a "Tribe" and we all want to be with you. Ciao.
So sorry. Don’t know any realtors to recommend. You might ask for advice on one of the expat groups on Facebook. Thanks for the ideas!
For me personally..I do not prefer city area..sub urban or even countrysides or kampung is better..more tranquil ..peaceful.. more greeneries..serenity etc..of course pros n cons.
Always a difficult choice between space, quite place, shops and Price.
In advance, Happy birthday Taylor
Very true!
Hi Taylor! Thank you for your informative videos. After 2 weeks of research, I am almost decided to move to KL but I have one dealbreaker. Can you tell me about cockroaches. I don't mind living in a city that has rats or cockroaches but I cannot share an apartment with them! Specifically, have you had cockroaches in your various apartments in Penang or KL??
Thanks, very informative, please let me know how I can reach you for direct conversation….
Sorry, I’m retired. I don’t do consulting. ☺️
Hello Taylor you are making a great contents very good information thank you for that
I just have questions can you please make a video about this topic
I heard in Malaysia because of tropical climate there’s lots of insects in the house like roach , ants , mosquitoes, bugs. Lizard it makes everyday life very difficult
Is this true ?
waiting for your answer thank you
I haven’t found a problem with this.
Thanks for info, Andrew. 2 quick questions re KL condos:
1. Do you ever see apartments with 3- or 6-month lease options or is one year required?
2. If longer lease is required, are applicants without long-term visas still accepted?
Thanks
6 month probably minimum. I don’t think your visa status matters.
@@andrewtaylor4558thank you sir
Happy Septuagenarian!!!
😂
Difficulty with KL is the horendous traffic .
Yep
Have you been to philippines??😂
@@joebidet2050 I have not!
@@andrewtaylor4558 traffic is worst in world
TBH, KL traffic isn't horrendous; it is just bad on major arteries feeding the suburbs/key population centers. Poor road/transit planning IMHO, and from my observation in a recent visit, too many drivrs love to change lanes for no good reason (resulting in slower flow of traffic). And lane hogging by people who double park (where is law enforcement when it most needed?). The heat and humidity does not help as it discourages many locals from walking (even a short distance of 200 meters). If there are more shades, we might see fewer cars on the road?
Hi Taylor How find studio place in KL😅
Haha! I just see Earl Grey jumping down from sofa!
Good eye 🤗
Buy a cat condo. It is a cat house with a scratching pole on the outside. You need it. Your cat has scratched holes into the fabric of your sofa cushions.
I’ll get a new sofa. 😂
Hi Taylor,
I hope you're well. I want to live in Singapore, but I know that I can't afford to do so. So, I thought of living in areas/towns/cities in Malaysia that are very close and easily accessible to Singapore. Would be able to tell me which areas those might be? Thank you in advance.
Johor is right next to Singapore.
@@andrewtaylor4558 Thank you very much!
