Oh Andy, you can imagine how this video brought tears to my eyes. 😢 I loved how you put these pictures together to tell your story. And how after all these years and plenty of tough times you can look back and be so positive. As your little sister, I know we have really been so lucky in our lives.
I’m wondering if you might make some videos about our visit. Like planning where to take us, what to show us, etc. Then do one while we’re there. Like how to show visitors the best of Malaysia.
Plus, That way your audience will see you have a little sister too! I saw I was in a couple of pictures, but couldn’t help notice I was nearly nonexistent in your life. Hahaha Hope we can talk sometime this week before Christmas.

Hi, Taylor, your nephew Adam told me to watch this video so I just watched it with your great-nephew Nathan. We are in Melrose, Massachusetts (near Boston) for Thanksgiving. We miss you a lot but are happy you are enjoying life in KL. Love, Big Sis

For some reasons, maybe due to TH-cam, and how amazing you’re are making interesting videos, I’ve always felt that you belong to our generation, the millennial and generation Tech. Until I see all these black and white pictures again haha. Truly young at heart!!

Hi! Your story wasn't boring at all; I loved watching your video and learning about your life. You've lived a very interesting life and it just keeps getting more interesting! What a great way to live and retire! I've been telling my friends about your videos so hopefully I will get some more subscribers for you; your videos are always informative and interesting and your life is an inspiration.

Hi Taylor. Thanks for sharing. Honestly I think that you're a brave person and now living in a foreign country away from your family members. I can't imagine how my life would be when my parent is no longer around. But through this short video I've learned from you that life is not always good. Still, we can find happiness everywhere. Thanks for choosing Malaysia 🥰and I wish you the best of luck🤞

It's brave of you to share so much about your life on the internet. I am not sure I could be so candid. None the less it was very interesting to hear your background and your life before you emigrated to Malaysia. Quite cathartic listening to your life story. You were certainly a pretty child and a handsome young man. Apart from your sister who helped you out giving you a job for 10 years you didn't mention whether you keep in touch with your other siblings? I ask this as my brother and sister emigrated and we have pretty much no contact even with the luxury of FaceTime or Skype. My mother is still alive but in poor health and I tend on her with little other help. Living by the beach sounded idyllic. I'm sure it wasn't always so for instance when the weather was bad or stormy. Well, Taylor thank you for sharing your life story with us. It has certainly focussed my mind to get a wriggle on as life is quickly slipping by. It ain't no dress rehearsal for sure. Before you know it 10-20 years have flown by. All the very best with your life in KL and creating a successful YT channel.
How's your efforts going to make a video about KL's bird sanctuary? That is such a special place.

I’m pretty close to my 2 sisters but my two brothers, twins ten years older than me, I haven’t been in touch with since my mother died. We were never close.
I’ll get to the Bird Park eventually. 😂
      Thanks again! 😊

Woke up this morning wanting to rest and watching some video walks while listening to some talking videos and was thinking, hey why don't I continue Andrew's Penang video and before starting the video, I asked myself, what's the story behind Andrew anyway? Why is he here? And here I am watching this video and it is wonderful. I can sense how emotional it is for you to share your experiences as if you're holding back from tearing up (lol maybe it's just me) and I can feel it here too. I'm pretty sure there's more than this but maybe for another day lol
also I can't believe that you're almost a decade here, wow! here's to more peaceful 2023 in Malaysia, happy new year Taylor

Andrew, thanks for this video. I stumbled on it by accident looking for places to retire outside of the US. I am seriously thinking Malaysia might be the place. Spending time with others who are at the same stage of their retirement life is what I want. New friends. New start. Maybe I can use some of my career skills in my retirement. I like to keep busy.

Wow! What are the odds! I plan to retire a from now when I turn 70 which is how I discovered your videos. I was born in DC, grew up in Atlanta, and moved back to DC in '89. And I just came back from All Souls--where I've been a member since 1999--and turned on this video
I plan to retire outside the US--most likely in Latin America, but Malaysia is a possibility if the visa situation gets easier.
Your videos are always very informative and I particularly appreciated this one, since your trajectory is similar to mine.

Taylor what a lovely video. I enjoyed listening to your life story so much. And yes we are interested. I wish other TH-camrs would take the time as you did to give us a detailed account of their personal lives. TH-camrs are like little famous people to us and yes we are interested and curious. You did a wonderful job in sharing your life chronologically and with so many lovely photos. You come across as a very kind and gentle soul. It’s really a blessing to have so many siblings, so that when our parents are gone we still have an extended family. Yes you were lucky in many ways, but life had it’s struggles for you as well. I wish you all of the best.

Hi Taylor, happy to hear of your life and about you having an enjoyable retirement in KL. Condolences on the passing of your parents. I lost my mom in 2009 which was overwhelming. My father immediately moved from the home I had grown up in, and moved to Texas, which is where he grew up. He kept asking me to come live with him, and due to worry about him, and my continued overwhelming grief of losing my mother, I left my career in the San Franciso Bay area and moved to Texas. I probably should have put more effort into getting a job in field of my $200K education, but instead got a menial job where I don't have to interact with anyone. My Dad passed way nearly two years ago, though it seems much more recent. With my retirement getting closer in view, I'll just stay in Texas till retirement, and then relocate somewhere else. I know letting go of a house full of stuff will be a tremendous challenge for me, because I inherited some of my mother's hoarding tendencies, but it would also be freeing to get rid of all of it. Thanks for sharing your life with your viewers. Take Care

It's very informative and I look forward to perhaps meeting you when my wife and I come out this coming January. I really really apricate you sharing your life history with the world. You are very courageous person. I know people in vast USA who never left their state., let alone going to other countries.
You have shown what Vulnerability, courage and going with the flow is like.
I hope our path will cross someday.

Thanks for sharing your life story. We enjoy your TH-cam videos very much as they are presented with no pretension but pure honesty and openness. Guess where we are living? In Seminole, only 3 miles from your boyhood beach home. Keep your interesting videos coming.

Taylor, interesting video; thanks for sharing your personal life with us! It would be great to see a similar video on how you discovered Malaysia; how many times you visited Mayalsia before making the decision to move; which Malaysian cities you visited prior to choosing Penang; which other countires you may have visited (Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, etc.) for retirement consideration before choosing Malaysia; why you chose Malaysia; why you chose Penang at first; why you left Penang for KL; how you moved there and with how much luggage; how you found your first apartment; experiences learning to drive on the other side of the road; etc. Also, your most memorable and worst experiences thus far living in Malaysia. Basically, this recent video was focused on your USA life, but a follow up video of a similar nature focusing on your Malaysia life (from your Malaysia "discovery/birth", to how you ended up at the current apartment in KL. That would be super interesting!
Also, your channel is named Andrew Taylor, and all the business cards displayed in this video show Andy/Andrew Taylor, so why the decision to drop Andrew and be addressed as Taylor? Just curious. Maybe for fun I should start referring to Earl Gray as just Gray! ;) LOL

Good idea, thanks! Taylor is pretty much just a nickname I’ve picked up in KL. It’s a story all on it’s own. 😂
