In reality, they took what is easily the best sports car on the market, the Turbo S, and then destroyed its essence and what it represents by making it into this. That is all fine and dandy, but to then price it equal to or higher than the Turbo S is an unscrupulous rip off.

Great work, Thomas! A superlative car indeed. It joins the power of the 911 with the comfort and luxury of SUVs, oh no, I mean limos, haha. Porsche is a dream brand, loved by car enthusiasts around the world. I agree with you, not always the most powerful engine is the best solution and it depends on the car proposal. Cant wait to see new Cayenne with all that technology from Panamera. And it would be great if it had PDK.
I'm personally glad to see an automaker still using a physical key. One thing buttons do well is to stop functioning when you you need them most. Porsche is smart to give their customers this redundancy and would be a big selling point for me choose them over another brand. Besides this difference of opinion, nice review as always Thomas!

Excellent review. I am not a Porsche fan, not a hater, just that it has never really appealed to me. The one thing I like the most about this one is that its very spacious which is something so important to me in a car these days. Also doing 0-200 km/h seems so effortless, no drama & too easy. I saw one the other day, same colour & model, massive car bigger than I thought, I would be worried about others denting this car when it is parked. If I had to choose a Porsche, it would be this one. Cheers.

The new generation of the Panamera is really unmatched !! The design is elegant sharp and sporty at the same time !!👍 I would pick the “Panamera Sport-Turismo GTS” when it will be available with the alcantara interior !!🔥😍 But the money….

great review thomas, thank you. quite an amazing car the panamera turbo. people either love or hate the look of it. for me id rather a proper 911, and an suv, say audi q5/q7 for the family stuff. all in all though, its a pretty impressive car, even for the fairly high price tag.

Honestly, i would save some money and buy a RS7 performance or the E63S which are faster and still SOO luxurious especially the E63S's interior

Julian J true, the only Thing the rs7 lacks compared to the Panamera is maybe the interior, but the next RS7 will probably even have nicer interior than the Panamera
I've owned some high end Audis and I've found them to be soul less and boring. Except the RS4 that was pretty fun.

The thing I like about the new Panamera interior is the lustrousness, I like everything but the parts of the arm-rest and cup-holders, to me, the Porsche team forgot about quality when then designed and made the arm-rest and cup-holders. But there's many things about the RS7 interior that I can say are atrocious, but after all, that beastly and Godly look of the RS7 cannot be matched by many.

I could have benefitted from the Night Vision a few years ago, when driving along an unlit country road at night on a dark winter's night. The road was quite narrow with no pavement/sidewalk, with hedges on either side, and i could not see well into the darkness due to on-coming traffic's headlights. Suddenly, I thought I might have seen something ahead of me in the blackness, so made an emergency stop; and there in the dark - an elderly man walking his bicycle with no lights showing. A tenth of a second late and I could have killed him, but luckily for him, I stopped a few centimetres short of hitting him. Night vision means you will be able to see further than your dipped headlight - always worth having that option.
Interesting story! I just wonder if u would have watched at the night vision screen or if its just about the automatic warning the vehicle might give

I love the Night Vision on my BMW 535d. Mine has alerted me to deer either on the road or even in the woods adjacent to the road. It's a rather expensive option on the 5er, but well worth the peace of mind afforded to those of us living in rural areas.

if you forget it is a Porsche and should look like typical Porsche, it looks really nice. Very unlike cayenne which looks really bad. I didn't like it at first but only because i was used to typical Porsche look, but when i distance myself from it, it is really beautiful car. The wheels are gigantic, but still look proportional since the car itself is truly gigantic.
I would like to see coupe version of panamera. Little bit beefier than 911 and smaller than normal panamera, with decent back seats... Yes, we live in weird world where there is suv coupes with four doors and other four door coups... Two door panamera aint that much to ask!

I just realized by watching the video looking at the nose of the car that the Tesla Model 3 took a lot of design cues from Porsche

Usually I am Porsche fan, but the pricing for the Panamera is way too high and depreciation is unbelievable, and to be honest the prestige is not on the same level of those on the same cost bracket to justify a high spec Turbo S over a lower option Bentley Flying Spur.
rs san in the UK after the dust has settled and this car is 2 years old in the used market it will sell for around £75/80k. It will be a brilliant purchase

Dude, the people who are able to afford this car or others in this price range do not worry in the slightest about depreciation lol. If you are worried about depreciation, you can't afford it to begin with.
Does the Mercedes s63amg have a more comfortable/less Shakey ride? I was watching autotopnL passenger pov and the Mercedes was more Shakey than the Porsche turbo e hybrid ironically.

Excellent video Thomas! Really like your content. To be honest, I'm really on the fence between the Panamera or the Tesla Model S. My problem is that it fells so wrong to buy an expensive car today with a gasoline engine, it feels a bit dated and not the right choice for persons like me who drive a lot in big cities. The Panamera design looks lovely though! And I know that the hybrid is an alternative, but it feels like a compromise. Which one would you choose?
