Finally a beautiful Panamera that has its proportions right
Honestly never been a massive fan of the Porsche brand, but over the years they have grown on Me, until I saw this, the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid ! Now this has converted Me 100%, what a beautiful car/Beast. I've always loved wagons/estates/shooting brakes, thank you Porsche, thank you, job well done. Now only if I can have one please hahaha 🤙

In Austria the Turbo S e-hybrid is actually 1000 Euro cheaper than the normal Turbo because of tax benefits :D

those are all from the German press fleet, they imported them there, as there are no other vehicles like this existing yet
Does it also not have rain sensing wipers? (As well as Active Cruise Control).
Hi Thomas, I really love your reviews! Watched them all about the new Panamera as I am in the market to buy a Panamera e-hybrid. I am wondering if you have any experience with the optional RWS (Rear Wheel steering) offered on the Panamera and how it changes the car performance wise. My dealer doesn't has it on the demo car and it is really difficult to find some specific reviews on this matter, so I hope that you might encountered it while reviewing the new Panamera's

Bentley definitely will have a hybrid version too, if it is with a W12 it will just be ridiculous and awesome. Bentley would be great, because they just don't care about how heavy their cars are, they just care about whoomph.

Another great review. Thanks, Thomas. Here in the UK, we have learned today that no more new petrol or diesel cars will be sold after 2040. Perhaps the future is hydrogen and electric??? Let's see how technology develops in the next few years.

Thomas, another excellent review. Am looking forward to your assessment of the upcoming Mercedes competitor to this vehicle, the GT 4 by AMG. It will also be a hybrid but with substantially more performance. It will be tempting indeed if offered with Alcantara. ;-)

Ive seen panamera turbo s e hybrid photos of cars with square tailpipes, and circular tailpipes as in this video. Any ideas?

the thing is this car weighs more than the current generation cayenne turbo. I'm sure Porsche has done some wizardry to its handling characteristics, but you can't beat physics.
Anyhow it would be interesting how this car will perform in comparison to an E63 and the upcoming M5, eventhough the panamera is in a whole different (price) class.

The new generation of the Panamera is really unmatched !! The design is elegant, sharp and sporty at the same time !! I think it was a good decision of Porsche to transform the top model into a hybrid version! The reconciliation between both engines seems to be very harmonic and performance-oriented like in the 918 Spyder 👍 But the 918 Spyder is a completely different level...
I would pick the “Panamera Sport-Turismo GTS” when it will be available with the alcantara interior !! 😍

Superb Review as standard, Thomas. ACC is not standard! Not much else is standard either. You're wearing a jacket suit - you're in a sports car with a suit! Expensive though. Seems you can go fast, go comfy, go noisy, or you can go quiet. Expensive though. Many thanks Thomas and Team (at 0:26, is that Holger!).

Acid green? Were I come from, it's called "chartreuse". I think the black/white color scheme is a bit dated. I'd like a 1 color on all parts except the wheels. Still..I'm a bit sad to know that this particular model is not available in the States.
I believe normal seats is called Partial leather which is made of vinyl. So it could be leather alternative as long as you don't upgrade to Sport Seats Plus.
Not sure about all markets, but in Germany you cannot get anything else. Maybe the outer parts are vinyl, but afaik there is no seat for the Panamera yet which doesnt contain any leather
Another great review Thomas. I am however sceptical with that electric power up stuff. You say you can drive in electric only and by breaking you almost fill up the battery? That would be a spectacular advance in physics... Almost 0 lost of energy..

I do not understand these hybrid cars though, seems to me adding such a complex driveline just give you more to go wrong.
I would think the normal Turbo S would have more power than most of us are qualified to harness.
Go even more simple. All-electric drive. I once wanted a Porsche, but driving our Tesla S has cured me of that! ;-)
There is no normal Turbo S - this is it.
Well there is a Turbo, with 550 hp.
My dad said that about power windows, then power seats, then air-conditioning, etc. Sure love the cigarette lighter and ashtray, though.

Another great review, Thomas. I wonder thought why Porsche would even sell this powerful car in Canada where the speed limits don't allow one to really enjoy it? When one adds in the insurance costs plus maintenance, I just can't see the logic of purchasing such a vehicle.

I'm a bit confused about the way you explained having the petrol engine activate when you go full throttle in the e-power mode. You prefer it to stay in electric only? That's definitely my preference. They should wait until just before it runs out before turning on the engine.

But for security reasons it is understandable you have all the power it can develop when you hammed hard the pedal, otherwise why are you going to press it hard?! It is hybrid not a full electrical car!
Two slight corrections though, Thomas. That 'Chrome' you mentioned in the interior is polished aluminium, chrome looks different. Also you used 'processing' for Verarbeitung in the interior, which wouldn't be used in English..you can't translate it literally. One would rather say finish oder fit & finish in that case.

Great review by the way. But there is one thing I am confused about. For instance if we are about to drive it on sport plus mode and then battery runs out. How much time you will need until you charge it again on e- charge mode in order to have the full power again on board? I am assuming if driving on the autobahn and you are racing with a similar fast car, and then suddenly after battery runs out you don't have all the necessary power to beat your competitor. Hope for an objective answer
well the engine is so big and has so much power... you ll never really run out. The electric is just a boost. When you looked at the racetrack and listened to my commentary, you ll however also see that on the track, the power boost was instantly filled up again (by costs of more fuel of course) so it is available more often
In the track yes, because you use the brakes more often. But I have the feeling that in autobahn your battery would actually spend more electricity than recharging it. That was my confusion. Anyway thanks for your response.

Informative review. Very expensive, obviously. I have the 2017 4s, and added two tuners and a pedal box, and it is now as fast as the v8 turbo, but for $35k less. I like it, but the technology is not intuitive/user friendly. Moving the vent through multiple screens is just plain dumb.

At 35:00 as you passed the police car, the traffic sign camera picked up the speed limit for the truck scale entrance 30 km/h and you were driving 70, that is why the police did not stop you.

The way Thomas holds the steering wheel (3-9) at the high speed is quite frightening. I would rather do it while driving at the lower speed. Instead I would rather prefer holding the steering wheel at 2-10 at such incredible speed on highway. How do you hold steering wheel at high speed on highways fellas?
