@@megamikethemovieman , probably as desired like how you would rent something you want to see, instead I buy a 4k disc and wait for it to arrive by mail. Way less convenient than jumping on the laptop and streaming but I don't really like streaming. I feel like its quick and convenient but a worse investment because you own nothing.
Have you seen Venom The Last Dance, What do you think about that trailer and Do you have high expectation Venom The Last Dance for example like Venom Vs Spiderman. Rated-R. Venom Spider Symbol or anything
Haven’t seen the trailer yet. I try to stay away from online trailers so I’m more surprised in theaters. But how’d you like it? I enjoyed the first 2 Venoms.

I like Blu-ray I don't own a 4K player but I do have a Blu-ray player and I don't think I can afford 4K even if the quality might be better to me I'm just as happy with the Blu-ray quality
That’s awesome, Blu-ray is a great format and I think the best for the value. Have you been able to find some good deals on Blu-ray’s recently?
Not really unless I go to a yard sale or flea market
Blu Ray is more readily available and the technology is flawless. Also, people have lots of problems with the 4k players breaking.
Blu-ray is such a great value. I wonder why the 4K players seem to break more?
4K is fine but the price cannot be too high. For Robocop, I will pay more for the Arrow 4K. The Fugitive on 4K is definitely an improvement due to its HDR. But Gremlins? Just give me the cheap Blu Ray 2 disc set. Same thing with the Purge 5 disc set. Blu Ray is enough and much cheaper.
Agreed!! I do the price compared to value ratio too, to make those tough buying decisions. Any recent pickups you really enjoyed my movie friend? And cool icon Duck!!

4K has skipped on me and ruined our movie watching experience. Blu-ray is great!
@@FezCaliph Agreed, I have had some skip issues for 4Ks too. Blu-ray is awesome, no doubt. Do you only collect Blu-rays now?
@@megamikethemovieman since Redbox went bankrupt, I’ve been going to like 5 redboxes close to me and cleaning them out of their Blu-ray’s. I haven’t been charged a dollar yet 💀
What is the comparison?!These are two completely different things!
"4k is just Resolution" and blu ray is disc name wich has a lot of memory, the capacity of a movie UHD(4k).
The difference between Bluray to 4K isn't much and the annoyance of having to calibrate your TV for 4K viewing is ridiculous, I only have a select few 4K's so I guess Bluray wins.
Great point! I haven’t even calibrated anything yet so I’m probably missing out on a lot. Do you think most people stay away because of that? I would think most common consumers wouldn’t even think about calibration?
I buy 4K whenever available. It’s worth it to me

4k players can upscale a bluray but you can't play a 4k on any bluray player. Same issue with dvd and bluray.
@@Mr.Randy210 How do your upscaled Blu-ray’s look in comparison to your 4Ks?
@megamikethemovieman honestly I do not notice until it is pointed out hence why I do not upgrade unless it is a clear upgrade.
I find 4k' is not meant for movies as it makes everything look like a soap opera or documentary,4k is best suited for wildlife documentaries
@@jrufus11 I totally get that. Are you just collecting Blu-ray’s then?
@@megamikethemovieman yeah was thinking about getting 4k ultra movies bought one tenet couldn't watch it felt like I was watching an evening soap opera had to watch the Blu-ray got a decent 4k Panasonic TV but the blurays I've been collecting are me mainly for my hd projector
Bottom line you get what you pay for. I bought my 4k player at Walmart for $80 bucks and it’s absolutely beautiful! 4K images are the top of the line, end of story
That’s a great price for a 4K player. Was that one on sale?
4k is superior, but u have to have the 4k player and the 4k TV and the surround for atmos. I basically only collect 4k movies now and there is no skipping on my Panasonic player. The biggest con is the price, the movies are very expensive. But bluray is perfectly fine for anime shows.

@megamikethemovieman they only see films on a BIG screen at the theaters, most if at all own a TV it is a very small tv and mostly watch news or programs that do not benefit from large screens. Just no sense in ot really. Why buy a monster truck just to go to the grocery store a mile away!? Just save the money and buy more groceries. Like you said buy more movies.

@megamikethemovieman I've been getting in to imports, mostly from the UK. Anime classics, mostly imports. Just got BAD TIMES AT THE EL ROYALE import. Waiting for NINJA SCROLL import. Looking for a PROMETHEUS 4K that will not break my budget. Had a GOOD MORNING VIETNAM but it was a factory defect, 😭 had to return it. Still looking for a replacement.
@ Was the Good Morning Vietnam on 4K?
I had to pay over 200 dollars for my 4K player, and some go for $500..... I can see why this format isn't catching on with the normies. Then if you want to buy a 4K new release it's more than likely going to be $29.99 before discount, the discs themselves aren't very affordable for most people...... don't get me started on the boutiques.
Do you collect mostly 4Ks even with them being very pricey?
@@megamikethemovieman I guess so to a point, 4K comes first if a movie has a 4K but if not, I get the blu ray. A lot of smaller budget cult films probably will never get a 4K anyways because the original elements just aren't there to make a proper transfer. Making 4K transfers is a lot more complicated and expensive than a blu ray transfer.
@@austinwillcut4919 Makes sense. Most catalog titles probably wouldn’t have a larger enough customer base to justify those manufacture costs. But Blu-ray is a great format so I’m ok if titles come out at least to HD. Any movies you hoping to at least get Blu-ray’s of?

For me Both
Both are great. When do you pick one over the other?
@@megamikethemovieman when a movie is on 4k and not on blu ray
4k has better resolution, but over all picture even using hdr gimmick is darker over all or just looks washed out depending on tv, expensive tvs their just darker, on goid, budget tvs that a normal average person can afford it varus wich it is if not both, we're blu ray and dvd has great brightness, with not washed out, unless that's how you have your tv set up for everything, wich out of box can look, along with usual more natural looking colors over 4k wichnis usaly over corrected, so I stick with blu ray and dvds over 4k, if movie I don't own, I sometimes buy 4k and blu ray combo pack if their Is one, but I watch the blu ray from those packs 9 times out of 10
Good points! Why do you think they change so much with 4K in terms of the coloring, etc. Why not keep it the same but have the increased resolution?
Films get brightened for home video some 4K are representative of just how dark their theatrical prints were like Batman and Batman Returns. Others overcorrect and are more washed out and darker than the 35mm releases like the Star Wars trilogy, where the Blu-Ray was overly bright and black levels were crushed. Both too much DNR the Blu-Ray disc was overly processed and sharpened, audio cleaned within an inch of its life leaving zero fidelity, For Star Wars a New Hope as it became to be known. At least the 4K audio is much improved and it sounds way better. The Blu-ray also had fake grain added to replace removed grain. That doesn't appear to be the case with the 4K but there is frozen grain.
The 8K scan of Wizard of Oz in 4k is mindblowing just revelatory, so is 2001 a Space Odyssey.
HDR isn't washed out.. you clearly don't have a proper HDR display. HDR is also brighter..
